Interesting thing about JD’s speech… he danced around it… did you notice he blamed FJB and Washington Politicians, Bureaucrats, Bankers and Wall Street?
He did not point out Democrats specifically… he hinted it was the entrenched Deep State and the Globalist Bankers and Oligarchs.

He could have called out the Democrats… but he hinted behind it, hinted at the Deep State.

And yeah, wife and yours truly, legal immigrants and US citizens agree with the guy…. we may not share our past with native Americans but we gladly share a common future that respects all of our pasts… this is the strength of the US, IMHO. Did you also note that he did not demonize illegal aliens? He acknowledged that most of them are good people and worked very hard to come here, but that they had to go back as they were here illegally!

I am with you, WSB. I believe there is more naked truth to this linked article than any of us know or dream of, much less agree with, at least at present, although it distresses me deeply to share it.
Our family doctor was an Indian throughout my child and young adulthood. He was loved, trusted, and admired by us all. We shared many a Sunday dinner with him after his beloved wife died (most of which were cooked by me, since my father had also lost his wife not long before). I can still see the twinkle in his eyes when he presented his customary gift of a lovely box of fine chocolates.
With very few exceptions, none of the Indians I have known and interacted with in the ensuing years have been remotely like him.

The best parts of Vance’s speech were the personal anecdotes and stories. I think the drug addiction issue will really resonate with a lot of people. I think most people know someone addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, even if we aren’t close enough to get caught up in the damage and chaos that creates. His lived experience can be a huge selling point if he can do it without throwing his now sober mom under the bus.
I did not see the entire speech but do think he was really distracted (and maybe annoyed?) by the constant chants and interruptions. I personally wish people would just let the speakers talk without constantly needing to start up college football antics!
I generally agree with you but can’t this time. Seemed to me he was actually waiting for those chants and the applause. Some of his pauses were obvious and awkward. Can’t wait for SD to chime in:)

I watched on RSBN, and there were distractions. Vance is not a great speaker. Neither is his wife.
He will learn as time goes on.
That speech was as fake as his wife’s. She looks like a horrific snake. She looks like the Devil. Especially sitting next to President Trump.

Just got back to hotel from Fiserv Forum. What I found interesting in Vance speech was his emphasis that America is not an “idea” but a nation with a culture and history. If you want to be “American” you can’t just embrace the ideals, but also the history and culture.
I don’t know how much it made the coverage, but I found interesting that the party gave so much time to the 13 who were killed in Afghan thanks to incompetent CinC. I take it the idea is that this will resonate with undecideds — that Biden doesn’t give a F about those who aren’t powerful elite, but Trump does.
Really, the entire emphasis so far in this convention is that Biden couldn’t care less about Americans but Trump does.
I am conscious of JD’s wife not liking President Trump. When I looked at her tonight I thought of Mrs. Pence’s looks of disapproval.
I hate that we will have to suffer those disapproving looks all over again. In my opinion the VP’s wife should also be vetted.

Karen Pence’s OPEN disdain and DISGUST direct at both Donald and Melania Trump was one of the first things that I noticed early on and which gave me concern. At first, I assumed that she was just overwhelmed at the company she was now keeping but it became very apparent that she was a bitter, angry, petty little woman. I pray that Usha Vance does NOT follow in those footsteps but will definitely be watching her closely!

My great grandmother supposedly smoked a pipe. Kicked her husband out of the house and he had to live in a shed. She would nurse him when he was sick and he was allowed in the house when the kids and grandkids came to visit.

Those of us with 40 year old kids can relate to JD Vance. They are like overgrown children in some ways and full of energy.
JD is very accomplished for being so young. Wisdom will come with experience.
I see this as the lion (PDT) grooming a promising cub (JDV) for the battles ahead.
I believe this time around, PDT is much wiser when it comes to passing the torch to JDV. This is the future of conservatives.
