If you’re referring to the Caroline Glick gloomy report then it’s not a problem. Most of what she said is correct aside for the situation in Rafah which is a lot better than she said. I watched two interviews with senior commanders on the ground. It’s actually going well. There were some complaints that caused Caroline and others including me to worry but it’s not that bad as we thought. The interviews were long so I didn’t translate but I may do so anyways.

Thank you. Not sure about how to present the interviews. There is no substitute to being there on the ground and watching and listening. But the bottom line is that there is good progress and Hamas will be defeated as far as their organization in the area and infrastructure above and below ground.
But it must be understood that while this will be in 3-6 weeks, it will be far from over and we will be chasing them for years. They will re-group and re-attacked. But Israel is getting new recruits and I keep seeing those thousands of new combat soldiers swearing at the Western Wall and Hamas will not be able to train new recruits, not be able to manufacture weapons and munitions and we will close the underground to Egypt. So the only thing that can save them is a hostage deal and Bibi is insisting to have a deal that doesn’t stop the war all together. It’s not published but the IDF is re-shaping Gaza for a long haul stay. Demolition buildings around Philadelphi corridor and making it wider and defendable. Demolishing buildings by the borders and making wide defendable space to separate from our civilians and also creating a split between South and North Gaza that is wide and defendable. While Arabs are presenting it as a victory, Gaza will never be what it was.
It will be under IDF control security wise. The problem is to find a civil force to manage it that is not hostile to Israel. Good luck with that.

Yes. It’s already well in progress. When you see demolition of buildings in Gaza, in large part it’s due to making flat defendable zones where there should be.

I was hoping you would show! You know, we have slews of hummingbirds on our property. Have a question for you:
Normally, they are very active and at the feeders early in the am, and then disappear in the heat of the day. It’s hotter than hades right now and they are swarming the feeders.
It’s getting very cloudy and I can hear thunder in the canyons behind us. Do you think they sense the storm and store up on nectar in anticipation?
I’ve sensed that too!
Birds seem to congregate at the feeders then disappear into shelter.
Next thing you know…thunderstorms!
I wish I had enough sense to come in out of the rain :p
I remember you saying that you have many hummingbird feeders.
My old eyes, at a distance, can’t tell the level of fuel in the feeders.
I’m doing this. Small fishing bobbers. Remove the spring loaded parts.

What a great idea! I’m stealing it for my automatic kitty waterers.
In the summer, the hummingbird feeders empty pretty much each day. What the hummingbirds don’t get, some sort of Oriole does. Then, in the evening, the bats finish it off!
Winter, we, of course have far fewer hummers, so the bobber would be very useful.
This is one of our turkey vultures. People are leery of vultures (aka buzzards), but they perform a valuable service. At certain times of the year they congregate in our trees – as many as 50 at a time!
The first time it happened- we thought our time was up! 😃 , but we think it has more to do with the fact that we seem to have the tallest trees in the area.
Lady, we have those turkey vultures in our area, too.
And, they do their job!
Several years ago, I was driving down my road on a foggy, dreary morning.
I looked up and saw about 25 silhouettes of these creepy vultures perched in an old hickory tree.
For a moment, thought I was in Alfred Hitchcock movie. 😂😂
Ha ha Miss.Della, I agree. It’s almost surreal. As I was telling ERROR, for whatever reason, a couple times a year, they fly into 4 or 5 trees near the house and camp for the night. The silhouettes at dusk when they’re flying in are pretty impressive.

Today is not one of my “mornings” but I may regret that I didn’t take a few hours this evening. I have the chance for an hour and a half nap – but I was trying to listen to the Neil Oliver interview. I think I will jump off of here and try to cat nap.
Savannah works from 1 PM to 8:30 PM today. She asked me yesterday for shrimp for lunch today and I guffawed thinking that was a bit “much” for “lunch” (geez!)… but then my brain kicked into gear and I realized that she was asking that for her “early dinner”. Thus, lunch today was five large scallops, a handful of shrimp for a shrimp cocktail, some plain fettuccini with butter and sautéed carrots. She will eat something small at her work. I’m having a bowl of cereal for dinner – so we are way out of whack.
Last night was dinner at 9:30 PM, no breakfast this morning, and early dinner at 11:30 AM. Just learning to make “abnormal”… normal… and not have us going to bed feeling like slugs.
Spent a bunch of time preparing for homeschooling. Calendars, counting days to make sure how many days we need per month for the minimum 180 during a school calendar year, thinking of “field trip” ideas like the factory tours, watching a court hearing downtown, what other curricula I can add to the plans, working on the budget to make sure we have all the bases covered. Reviewed one of her papers. Waiting for the online school’s resource lists to be finalized so we can start buying more books and devices.
Fortunately, the second job will schedule out two weeks at a time – so time off requests must be given three weeks in advance. Went yesterday evening and completed a bunch of training modules due dates through July 19th – so… for now… I am ahead of the game.
Savannah is very relieved and relaxed.
A challenge for me, though, is working with her on her papers and not allowing them to become my own. My words, my sentence structure. So we sit together and I ask her questions about the points she’s trying to make, how it corresponds to the rubric, and also try to help her with chronological order of events – for she can be all over the place. I need to make sure I am giving her skills she’s applying… and not just telling her how to fix things and she doesn’t retain them. The curriculum is soooo good, though. I am enjoying going back to school myself.
My old Professor in college told us just to write, write, write. Grammar and context checks after… and I’m trying to get her to do that. She takes an insufferable amount of time to just get started and that’ll really scare me when August rolls around and we jump up to six classes. I only took one year of college and I miss it a bit. Not enough that I would go into further debt to gain my own degree, but I am happy that Savannah loves to learn and that she’s encouraged herself to continue on.

Your lunch/early dinner sounds delightful. We had shrimp and polenta. And, a cucumber from the garden for cucumber salad.
Years ago, I helped with research and performed editing duties when Lloyd was pursuing a further nursing degree. My dad was unfortunately on his downward slide, so sitting in hospital rooms and medical offices was more bearable with something to do. But, it’s tough to not just take over! 🙃

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,
