True story – I am one person removed from the Kardashians and some other “notables” when you play the game six degrees of Kevin Bacon. Have a bit of history in the Los(t) Angeles region.
The girlfriend of my dear lifelong friend is a woman who was on Beverly Hills Pawn on Reelz – she wasn’t just an “actress” on the series – she actually worked there with Yossi Dina at the The Dina Collection in Beverly Hills.
She wrote a book, which is really quite entertaining called “Pignus – Tales from a Beverly Hills Pawn Shop” (Dominique Pinassi). She regales the reader with stories of the rich and famous and their often outlandish behaviors. She keeps them anonymous. However… when your read… you can tell who the Hollywood mogul is. She also gives tips throughout on how to tell the authenticity of a piece of jewelry.
Sometimes I hear a lot of outlandish things from them. For instance, a couple of gay guys came into the shop and paid $45,000 for a diamond bracelet that they used as a collar… for their little dog. Yes, rich people do really foolish things, thus your picture of a cat in a collar and tiara is none too far fetched. Well, maybe far fetched for us underlings!

I “discovered” Schubert when I was like 8 years old. I really wanted to learn the violin and dove straight into classical music. Well long story short my parents couldn’t afford any music lessons so that was not an option, but I kept picking up cheap cassette tapes for my Walkman of classical music and I got Schubert at one point. It was his 8th Symphony, (unfinished). They always say “unfinished”.
Not sure where he was gonna go with it beyond what I heard, but I would lay in bed and listen to that and just the power of that symphony.
I later got dug into bluegrass and am a banjo player and have been for many years now, but I always remember Schubert and wonder “what would the finished part be?”
He wrote such beautiful pieces. I of course bought everything later on and have listened to all of his pieces since. But his 8th will always be my favorite.
I can play guitar and never even considered Schubert on guitar, but now I’m thinking I should give it a shot. Thanks Garrison.

Happy Caturday! I have a case of the “Full Moon Fever” I can’t get comfortable to save my life…
I swore the moon being full draws more of the fluid out of my worn out/bulging discs in my back.
Then I realized the moon is always full and the light reflecting or not reflecting off of it has no bearing on gravitational pull.
The rain and low pressure systems really do mess me up. I might be off CTH for a little while, I start outpatient physical therapy for my shoulder/reattached left rotator cuff tomorrow,then in a month I get the same thing done to the right arm.
Obsessing about our collective nightmare impedes my healing process and I really have to focus on getting stronger so I can support myself for the foreseeable future.
Prayers and Love To All Y’all.. hold down the fort for me.

A very tough week is ahead of us.
According to many reports, Israel gave Hezbollah a deadline until Wednesday, June 26th, to withdraw its forces beyond the Litani River in accordance with the United Nations Security Council’s resolution 1701, or else a war is imminent.
Many Christians are asking me what can they do to help?
The answer is the same today as it was yesterday and even decades ago – Pray!
Things are going to be very tough, rough, ugly and painful. But since when the people of God rely on circumstances?
We have two promises:
1. That the God of Israel will help Israel and won’t allow it to be annihilated!
2. That the enemies of Israel once again will be defeated!
My prayer is that through the pain, sorrow and sadness my nation is going through, more and more would lift up their eyes to see that our help comes from the Lord and it’s time to return back to Him.
So, in a nutshell, please pray for two things:
For God’s victory to be quick and for Israel’s humility to acknowledge it!
And the MSM has neglected the fact of a resolution violation on Iran’s part.
Prayers up to the Lord God of Israel.

“For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” Matthew vii. 2
This statement is not a haphazard guess, it is an eternal law of God. Whatever judgment you give, it is measured to you again. There is a difference between retaliation and retribution. Jesus says that the basis of life is retribution – “with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” If you have been shrewd in finding out the defects in others, remember that will be exactly the measure given to you. Life serves back in the coin you pay. This law works from God’s throne downwards (cf. Psalm xviii. 25-26).
Romans ii. applies it in a still more definite way, and say that the one who criticizes another is guilty of the very same thing. God looks not only at the act, He looks at the possibility. We do not believe the statements of the Bible to begin with. For instance, do we believe this statement, that the things we criticize in others we are guilty of ourselves? The reason we see hypocrisy and fraud and unreality in others is because they are all in our own hearts. The great characteristic of a saint is humility – Yes, all those things and other evils would have been manifested in me but for the grace of God, therefore I have no right to judge.
Jesus says – “Judge not, that ye be not judged”; if you do judge, it will be measured to you exactly as you have judged. Who of us would dare top stand before God and say – “My God, judge me as I have judged my fellow men?” We have judged our fellow men as sinners; if God would judge us like that we would be in hell. God judges us through the marvelous Atonement of Jesus Christ.

So sad. I have only visited Canada once. Swore I would never return.
It was 1971 or 72. I lived in CT at the time. My husband, two children (4 and 1) drove to Quebec for a short vacation. It was during the Vietnam War, and I had no idea that anti- American sentiment was so rampant. We were treated so shabbily by almost everyone. Our discomfort was such that we left early.
I know there is a great deal of difference between eastern and western Canada. I have seen the evidence of that as I live in AZ now and there are many snowbird Canadians from western provinces here. Had several Canadian patients who were lovely people.
But, as we all know, a government and its people are different entities.
Sadly, the US is not far behind if we do not make swift and drastic changes.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

This poem was written about a very dear friend – who had a cancerous brain tumor –
and who died in 2013 shortly after surgery – I miss him so much !!! 🙁

HE WAS OUR BEST TENOR – AND NOW SINGS IN THE HEAVENLY CHOIR !!!
THE HEAVENLY CHOIR
Sing a new song – unto the Lord – our God;
Just as the Heavenly Choir – gives Him laud;
Daily they praise Him – in sweet adoration;
Joyfully – their song – is just jubilation!
Glory to God in the Highest – they sing;
On their timbrels and harps – they ring;
A joyful noise – unto the Lord – in Heaven;
As their song rises – like bread with leaven!
The trumpets sound in a bountiful blast;
With triumphant blows – the effect is vast;
The Heavenly Choir sings a vibrant song;
To sing Praise to the Lord – all the day long!
Holy – Holy – Lord God – Almighty One;
A new member – we suspect – You have won;
In an earthly choir – his voice he raised;
His great love for You – in song he praised!
In the earthly choir – we lift up our voices;
In praise and thanksgiving – our song choices;
Give Glory to God – through gifts He has given;
To praise Him and thank Him – we are driven!
Nary has a voice gone unnoticed – by He;
No matter how meek or weak it may be;
For the voice of the young is strong and clear;
While the older voice – we can hardly hear!
When we earn our place in the Heavenly Choir;
Our voice is renewed at that very hour;
So while we are here – we sing songs of praise;
Till God takes us home – our voices we raise!
Imagine the sound of Praise to the Lord;
Imagine the joy to sing in His Word;
To someday sing in the heavenly realm;
The happiness is sure to overwhelm!
While we are here we do the best we can;
To praise Him in song – and instrument plan;
To be worthy someday to be chosen among;
The Heavenly Choir that leaves no song unsung!
