In an effort to keep the Daily Open Thread a little more open topic we are going to start a new daily thread for “Presidential Politics”. Please use this thread to post anything relating to the JoeBama Administration and Presidency.
“This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can’t be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won’t be done. The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.”
“But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.”
This thread will refresh daily and appear above the Open Discussion Thread.
Whenever the possibility presents, throw sand into the machinery…

He currently serves on the Board of the Mitch McConnell-aligned Senate Leadership Fund, which spent more than $150 million in 2016 helping to strengthen the GOP Senate majority.

Every state should ban ranked choice voting, not just North Dakota.
Florida will be a big battleground for Trump and DeSantis since Florida is a winner take all state for delegates. With both candidates being residents of Florida, this should be a close one. A DeSantis loss here and he would be finished.
Floridians should vote for PDJT. They keep RDS for 4 years, then we have PDJT for 2024.It is a win-win for everyone.
DeSantis needs to complete his term as governor. If he breaks that commitment, places ambition above his oath, then you know everything you need to know.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) remains the most formidable challenger to former President Trump’s hopes of reclaiming the Republican presidential nomination — but his support may be slipping.
A new Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll released Friday exclusively to The Hill shows Trump leading DeSantis 46 percent to 23 percent. That marks a 5-point drop in support for DeSantis since last month, when he trailed Trump by 20 percentage points in the same poll.
TIME FOR ANOTHER HUMILIATING MILITARY DEFEAT:
For a military-industrial empire that maintains approximately 800 military bases around the world and that spends more on its military than the next seven countries (as well as 144 other countries) combined, the U.S. global hegemonic empire is clearly crumbling before our eyes today, following decades of slow decay. The last war that the U.S. unambiguously won was World War II—and that victory was only possible because of the fighting of the Soviet Union, Great Britain, and other Allies in addition to America. That big win was almost 80 years ago.
Since then, the U.S. military-industrial complex has lurched from one military debacle to another in an almost constant state of warfare, with each conflict characterized by either eventual failure or, at best, ambiguous results. The many geopolitical messes created by these U.S. military interventions have, nevertheless, been very financially profitable for the elitist warmonger class. And after all, the U.S. purports to be “exceptional” among nations, so it has a self-declared right to meddle where ever and whenever it wants to meddle, regardless of the negative consequences. And so here we are today.
As I write these words, the United States military machine is apparently on the verge of yet another spectacular defeat—this time against Russian forces in Ukraine. This bitter fact has been hidden by the American and Western mainstream corporate media, but it has been expertly articulated by a few honest commentators, such as Douglas Macgregor. Yet another war instigated and fought by the U.S., via proxy, against an imaginary enemy for no reasons other than financial profit and a delusional sense of maintaining its obviously crippled and rapidly diminishing world hegemony. Wasting valuable resources in destroying another foreign country, pushing some kind of sick neoliberal woke agenda, even as America seems to be collapsing in all areas of its society at home. The brilliantly perceptive Chris Hedges has referred to this insanity as “woke imperialism.”
Obviously sensing—though still refusing to publicly admit—the inevitable impending defeat against Russia, the crazed, senile, and/or desperate U.S. elitist “leaders” are now spreading more hysterical lies (just like they did with Russia and Ukraine, Iraq, Vietnam, etc) as they begin to switch their warmongering focus to China and Taiwan. Yeah, like that’s gonna go any better for them than their crazy provoked proxy war against Russia!

Sy Hersh Swings and Misses Big
Careless claims that the U.S. blew up the Nord Stream pipelines cover for the real scandals of the Biden administration
BY LEE SMITH
The most astounding claim in the blockbuster new article from Seymour Hersh alleging that the U.S. is responsible for sabotaging two of Russia’s natural gas pipelines is that the Biden administration is led by a no-nonsense crew of highly capable tacticians. Forget what you’ve heard about secret classified documents turning up in various Biden residences; in Hersh’s telling the Biden White House practices exceptional operational security.
And it would need to, because according to the single anonymous source on whom Hersh bases his piece, the Russians have “superlative surveillance of the Baltic Sea.” Pulling off a plan to blow up Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines between Germany and Russia would require not only vision and leadership, but sophisticated cover. So what kind of highly advanced stealth technology did the Biden team employ to cloak the underwater operation? In fact, they did just the opposite. They hid the plot to start World War III in plain sight.
(snip)
The White House has called Hersh’s story an “utterly false and complete fiction” while a Russian spokesperson said in response to the piece that Moscow has “repeatedly expressed” its conviction that the U.S. and NATO were responsible. Maybe the U.S. really did sabotage Russian pipelines, but it sure didn’t happen the way Hersh describes it. Maybe it was the Russians who did it to themselves, or perhaps it was those with seemingly the strongest motive for hitting Vladimir Putin, the Ukrainians. There is not enough evidence yet to know. But we do know enough about Biden’s public record to judge the story’s premise, never mind its absurd details, as questionable.

Do Read The Whole Thing
Who else besides the United States would commit an act of war against Russia especially after Biden and Nuland publicly promised to destroy the pipelines and then publicly celebrated it’s destruction! Nobody! Hersh was right about everything!
“Careless claims”? I read the article. There is nothing “careless” in what Sy Hersh wrote. This is not the kind of journalist who makes “careless claims”. Lee may not agree with him but he should read the piece before dismissing it as “careless claims”.
Besides Sy Hersh’s piece was on ONE aspect of the creepy Mc Creepface’s corruption so arguing that because he focuses on Nord stream does not mean he is downplaying any other. It’s okay to walk and chew gum Mr. Smith.
… AND victoria nuland all but admitted they did it… You can always rest assured the demons will at some point brag about their handiwork.
