So much news I want to cover, yet I do not want this admission lost in the foray.
Perhaps you have heard me say this a few times (lol): “The DNC wants power. The RNC wants money. The DNC uses money to get power. The RNC uses power to get money. The ideology of the DNC drives their donor activity. The donor activity of the RNC drives their ideology. This is the only current difference between the two clubs, two wings of the same vulture.”
Cue the audio-visual demonstration from RNC Chair Candidate Harmeet Dhillon. Some might call it tone deafness, others might call it failing to read the room, others yet will just sigh and say it is the way it is. Yet, here you go: “Wow! I’m incredibly honored to have Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus’s support for RNC chair! He is one of the most prolific, loyal & important donors in the conservative movement.”
The club members are so entrenched, so detached from the dynamic of representative government, they genuinely do not see the bigger picture of their advocacy. In essence, what RNC Chairwoman Harmeet Dhillon is celebrating – is the process of a select group of billionaire donors and multinational corporations funding the American political system.
They cannot even see themselves. It’s just the business-as-usual process. Dhillon is excited about getting the support of a billionaire donor for her effort to run the private corporation known as the Republican National Committee. A handful of selected big club donors who control the outcomes of a party-political system that is entirely detached from the base voters at the bottom of the pyramid.
What’s the institutional difference between Ronna McDaniel and Harmeet Dhillon? Nothing. The RNC focus is entirely on generating money, while the DNC focus is entirely about pushing an ideology. As a result, you get this disconnect as the leadership for the organization places a priority on what…. Money.
The RNC wants money. The DNC wants power. The RNC uses power to get money. The DNC uses money to get power. The donor activity of the RNC drives their ideology. The ideology of the DNC drives their donor activity. This is the only current difference between the two clubs, two wings of the same vulture.
The funny thing to me is that the people in/around the RNC club cannot see the problem within the RNC club. They cannot see the detachment. Instead of driving to make the base the source of the funding, and thereby making the outcomes (candidates) accountable to the base voters, the RNC is promoting their worth to a small group of billionaires who have interests and intentions entirely different from the voters.
The RNC Chair candidate is promoting Corporatism and Billionaire control of U.S. politics, and they just cannot see it.
How disconnected is the mindset? So disconnected Mrs. Dhillon’s team even generated the graphic so she could promote her ownership. lolol… {{{heavy sigh}}} And a big part of the Republican base won’t even realize it.
.
Let’s get the big money problem out of politics by bragging about how the big money likes me better. You just cannot make this stuff up folks.
(Via Politico) […] “Ronna McDaniel looks forward to participating in the candidate forum at winter meeting to continue her conversations with members of the 168, our party’s grassroots leaders who are eager to unite together and compete and win in 2023 and 2024,” Emma Vaughn, a spokesperson for the campaign to reelect McDaniel, said in a statement.
Dhillon and her supporters have called for a public debate — not a forum, in which each candidate would get to speak for an allotted amount of time. In a statement, a spokesperson for Dhillon said that she will be participating, but that conducting the forum out of public view “sends a very bad signal to RNC donors and grassroots leaders that the current chair is too weak or afraid to debate her own record.”
Lindell told POLITICO he also plans to participate in the upcoming forum. In order to qualify for the RNC chair race and participate in the forum, a candidate must submit a petition by Friday proving they have a majority vote of the RNC members in three different states in order to be nominated, according to party rules. (more)
We really need a second party…
….and I would nominate Catherine Englebrecht as the chair of it.
Could not agree more. The fact that the Persistence (Scott Pressler) has been single-handedly registering a phenomenal number of new republicans and has been TOTALLY ignored by the RNC tells you something. This amazing man has been self funded and benefited with lodging by the faithful while the RNC IGNORES him and orders more flowers and spa treatments.
Scott is smart and on the ground and could develop a new program for the RNC to harvest ballots (better get with the program if that’s the program!) but the RNC totally and completely ignores this man. Tells me they don’t want to win. Hell, they don’t even want to compete. They just want to raise MONEY. For themselves.
100%.
Scott Pressler has been a phenom with registration of new voters.
He’s the living ‘tell’ that something is gravely wrong with the RNC.
It’s like the RNC doesn’t even like people, at all.
Are there no pro-people billionaires other than Pres. Trump?
(I dislike the word populist.)
Populism isn’t a dirty word unless you’re an elitist globalist.
Where does Pressler get his money? He never asks for any.
And those new voters wanted a grassroots party that is LIKE THEM, REPRESENTS THEM, CARES ABOUT THEM.
And they’re getting the clean end of the turd.
In all fairness to Harmeet Dhillon, she has to prove to the rest of the RNC delegates that she can raise cash. That’s her audience. If she can’t, then she won’t win the RNC chair.
That being said, I don’t expect anything different from her and the RNC distain for the base. I doubt she will change direction after seeing her buddy up with Charlie Barbour.
President Trump showed you can raise a pile of cash from the base if you bring the right message and deliver on your promises. The RNC isn’t interested in that because they want the personal payoffs from the large donors that come with holding the levers of power in the RNC.
Cash would shoot upwards like a geyser (we saw it with Trump and Sanders) if a truly resonant populist message was allowed.
They need to keep the people in Sleeping Giant mode. Populism is the enemy of the UniParty.
But just watch, as the contest ‘heats up’ even people up here will start manufacturing consent (if not a weird form of excitement) for DeSantis, Pompeo, Haley, et al, et al.
Trump blew past the 14 empty suits as though they weren’t even there. It was something to behold. In a sense they’re not really there, not for us anyway.
The battle for Chair of the RNC is foremost about getting the support to be elected. The purest motives of a potential candidate are moot if they lose. Getting the support of Marcus is a step towards the goal of getting elected.
We would all support the perfect candidate, if only we could find one. That’s the issue here; there isn’t a perfect candidate. Nor are we at the grassroots/base level granted a vote.
The audience for this endorsement is the 168 voting members of the RNC. They need some evidence that choosing Dhillon won’t result in turning off the flow of contributions from big donors. This endorsement provides that.
Between McDaniel and Dhillon I would take Dhillon every time.
SD: “What’s the institutional difference between Ronna McDaniel and Harmeet Dhillon? Nothing.”
This.
Dhillon just sees some possible pathway to obtain the keys to the kingdom. Were she to win, it would be the ultimate “meet the new boss; same as the old boss” moment.
Yep, exactly!!
Harmeet is NOT who the people wanted. As stated before, less they got mike lindell in there to ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING, harmeet will spend, spend, spend on herself like ronna did.
Not a dime goes to dnc
Controlling the state / local entities is still the main business of MAGA because that is where our Constitutional power is harbored.
Regardless of the national party’s name or funding, the states are still the key because ….. drum roll……
The MAGA movement has the numerical, economic, moral, intellect and armed majorities in America.
President Trump started and developed the MAGA movement. He and the MAGA state organizations are the horse we will ride into battle with and defeat the democrats / GOPe gang, regardless of what party they reside in.
We have crossed the moat, broken down the doors and are investigating the secret rooms of the democrats / GOPe dc House gang.
We did that with the state representatives who are endorsed by President Trump, 68.8% of the house republican members are President Trump endorsements….
Let desantis, aka DeXX, bag the GOPe money monsters, we will take good old hometown MAGA member’s $$$. President Trump has shown over and over again that $$ can be beat with MAGA mania.
No brag, just facts.
“Let’s go Brandon!”
Cactus …Long ago, I was a Pubbie Committeewoman, ran some pretty high-end campaigns, got used and abused by the Club…But I got involved with the CA Republican Assembly.
These are smart, constitutional policy people. I bet they would have some great ideas, strategies, and are fed up enough to go with a new party.
Call the ones in your state and talk to them. Most are true warriors with LOTS of experience, and good motives. Sound them out..
Report back. Here’s the directory. Call your state.

I find Ms. Dhillion a breath of fresh air.
Sundance asked – before she announced her run – how she could take on the GOP while doing legal work for them. Then, weeks later…
1. She announced her candidacy!
2. Anyone is better than Rona.
3. She has already outted Ronas questionable spending practices. Embarrasing.
4. She constantly talks about winning, winning, winning!
5. She’s bringing in new voices, and asking tough questions.
6. Rona & Co are trying to smear her.
7. She is whip smart, but not arrogant. She is a wonderful example for the seemingly always good natured Seik community.
8. She wants to bring in successful Conservatives like Scott Pressler.
Sundance doesn’t seem very open minded on this one. Hair trigger judgement?
At the same time, Ms. Dhillion is taking on the monsters who perform sex change operations on children! She is representing Chloe Cole and will file a $75 Million lawsuit against Permanente Medical Group and the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, along with three doctors.
I don’t see Ms. Dhillion playing 3D Swamp chess to protect Mitch & Co; and if she was, why would she also be taking on the Mother-of-all-Woke cases?
Home Depot is one of the earliest and biggest supporters of the LGBT idiocy. They are always sponsoring gay “pride” events and funding things conservatives would abhor. Harmeet will be fine with the party tilting even further to the left as long as the checks clear.
Scott Pressler is gay. Go figure.
People like Scott are part of the solution, not part of the problem. I’ve never seen him make an issure of his sexuality. In today’s world, it would be next to impossible for it not to be “announced.” Like Ric Grenell, I’ll fight alongside him gladly.
Not sure if your comment was positive or negative – just adding my opinion.
I don’t think so when he was in charge. He retired 20 years ago. He made a comment Home Depot walked back the other day. He was a supporter of President Trump.
Have you heard of Arizona? Neither has Harmeet or FILTHY LIBERAL POS Mitch. They deserted Kari Lake and the Arizona Republicans. F Dhillon and the RNC
There were a gaggle of lawyers there, and she wasn’t lead attorney.
A “gaggle” of lawyers/geese, how very appropriate.
I wish people would stop posting this because Kari Lake publicly thanked her for her support.
Love that idea and SO ready to leave the Republican cabal!
America First, with male lion!
sundance you had the bold concept!!!
Brilliant, sir!
Looks like the GOPe have adopted the China strategy of the panda/dragon duality.
GOPe on Twitter to anyone calling out their grift and astroturf social engineering: dragon face.
GOPe on Twitter to their corporate masters: panda face.
I believe Dhillon has already been selected.
The RNC is very aware that now well known McDaniel has become very unpopular and even despised.
It seems to me McDaniel has been told to stand down, but to make it look like she’s still competing.
All to fool everyone into thinking there is this fresh new leader ready to take the RNC in a new direction.
Thank you Sundance that you always expose what needs to be exposed.
“The DNC wants power. The RNC wants money. The DNC uses money to get power. The RNC uses power to get money. The ideology of the DNC drives their donor activity. The donor activity of the RNC drives their ideology. This is the only current difference between the two clubs, two wings of the same vulture.”
I would suggest these amount to little more than tactical differences. The UniParty HAS THE POWER. It permits this power to be ‘market-carved’ by two tightly controlled entities in order to sustain the illusion of authentic ideological struggle.
The CCP harnesses the economy to maintain political power. Whereas the American UniParty harnesses political power at the behest of corporate interests (inverted totalitarianism).
The UniParty keeps ideological variation on a tight leash. The miniscule is amplified by media to suggest some materiality is at stake, when it’s really not.
By cultivating storms in teacups, the UniParty gets, in the long run, where it needs to go.
The UniParty is a wannabe CCP. For the moment, its full-on aspirations must be achieved via a faux-duopolistic Punch and Judy show.
If you look at America’s essential trajectory since, say, 1913, the profound erosion of liberty and self-determination dwarfs any differences boasted by either party.
“We need a second party.”
Yes!
Part of the way to more broadly install this mindset is to hammer away at the overwhelming sameness of the Dems and Repubs and to not get passionately ensnared in the over-promoted differences.
I’m disappointed Sundance… they “celebrate” these type of donors because that is what the DNC want them to do then AOC can say “republicans are backed by billionaires… we democrats are back by the little guy”
It’s nothing to do with “ideology” it’s CONTROLLED OPPOSITION
Anyone else read that Pfizer donated a million bucks to the RNC in Kentucky?
Yes, saw that yesterday. Bitch McConnell and his wife’s CCP shipping/shipbuilding bideness.
We really need a second party!
Here we are again frozen in place by a sea of congressional investigations, hoping one sticks and heads roll.
What do we wait 6 months, a year, 2 years?
That’s another 2 years of constitution shredding, political persecution, and transformational disassembling of the Republic.
It’s not only insiders that can’t see the problems right in front of their faces.
We really need a second party!
I agree with the notion that McDaniel & Dhillon are similarly cut from the same cloth, but you could have mentioned why you wouldn’t back Lindell before propping up Englebrecht. Englebrecht deserves much credit for her intelligence as a great technical clinician focused as a sharpened fiery knife cutting through the muck. But has she even shown interest in throwing her hat into the political asylum? I doubt it. She’s just too smart for that and lacks the personality for most people to identify with her. Conservative Lindell, on the other hand has a huge following already. Let’s hope he can get all his ducks in a row.
Lindell comes across as a buffoon. Yes, he’s a smart, tenacious businessman, makes great products.
But he is constantly over-claiming things. His “documentaries” were an embarrassment. His ads are silly. He needs a proofreader and diction coach.
Nobody takes him seriously.
I say, given your analysis, that we just select Mitt Romney’s niece. That’ll fix the problem. NOT.
You know the agenda, you know their priorities, you know their loyalties when they fail at every point to even mention the citizens for who they seek votes. RNC, Inc., and DNC, Inc., are every parasite that nature can throw at the body politic. The simply deplete We the Hosts of every nutrient and life sustaining humor that propels us through life. What is required to save us is to kill the parasite. But most citizens are so anesthetized that it is easier to let liberty die than to kill the parasite.
Mike Lindell. Will take NO salary, and will be totally transparent. If he takes over the DNC and runs it like a business, ordinary America. Citizens will once again support the party. We stopped sending money several years ago, even before President Trump. We only sent funds to him personally.
“I would nominate Catherine Englebrecht…”
Motion seconded.
All in favor?
The RNC and the DNC are the same.
Extractive business which provides nothing.
These billionaire people donate to both.
These same jack wagons only look at numbers and not at people.
They love illegals and indentured servants. Besides money that’s their true love.
They could put Fetterman in charge of the RNC and nothing would change.
Wait, why are are here again wishing a party of Progressivism wasn’t being a party of Progressivism?
If you’re still counting yourself amongst this crowd the shames on you.
….and I would nominate Catherine Englebrecht as the chair of it
AMEN
Catherine E. or mike lindell.
Anyone else is wasted time
There are plenty of smart, experienced, capable, principled people in non-visible positions in the Republican Assemblies. They keep their heads down, do the work, and understand all the chicanery of the RINOs.
They can be recruited, but we have to have something to offer them. An organization with structure and money … Our money.
Start saving and looking.
Harmeet is another ronna mcdaniel and certainly not “a fighter”. Unless they got mike lindell in there, harmeet is same chit, different day. Therefore, not a dime goes to rnc. Once again not following what the people want
UGH. Thank you for this. I was deluded that Dhillon might be better than McDaniel. Appreciate all the light you shed.
Harmeet Dhillon is a prolific knitter. Anyone who uses their hands to make stuff knows that the process of “making” is important for mental acuity. Hands and minds work together to help the thinking process, reduce stress, and contribute to an overall persona of well being.
Not enough people these days have hobbies or skills because they spend so much time on their stupid phones. Now I have to go to the garage and build a shelf for my workbench.
As long as the big money has any avenue, legal or otherwise, they will continue to be the primary boosters of the politicians in our country. This will not ever change because trying to get enough money to run a campaign from the voters at the bottom of the pyramid will invariably result in failure. This is because, other than the big donor class(over a million dollars per election cycle), We the People think that who governs our Country is so important that we spend less on our political favorites than we do on a tube of toothpaste every election cycle. Once you divide this pathetic amount of money up among the thousands of politicians who would get it, the outcome for most of them is a paltry sum compared to what is required. Campaign finance reform will never happen unless politicians discover they don’t need any of the big money they get from sources all over the world. So, both Parties will go after money first, and their agendas after they are adjusted for the needs of the donors of the money. So, big money donors will always get something for their money and the rest of us will get lies from the politicians about how they care about their voters.
If we want to have a say in the outcome, we have to have an impact on the financing. Everyone ready to dip into their pockets for 12% tithing, 10% of our incomes for our Churches and 1% for our favorite politicians? Or, enough to buy a 10 year supply of toothpaste
You have completely explained the reason for the big donors. Thank you. Of all of my passionate conservative friends, I would guess that 10% of them donate to candidates, the rest assume the money comes from “somewhere.”
Bravo!
Bernie Marcus, a billionaire, is a supporter of Trump, another billionaire, and has been a staunch conservative that has funded many great causes for our veterans. I wouldn’t be so willing to dismiss him as a just another member of the billionaire class, particularly when we are all in support of our billionaire of distinction, PDT.
strongly agree! Bernie Marcus is an independent thinker and a wonderful supporter of conservative causes and Trump. and I think Harmeet is right to be thrilled with his support. at least he can perhaps lead the other billionaires away from Ronna.
but, I wish Bernie had voiced support for Lindell who knows how to build a business. I wish Bernie had taken into account that harmeet is an attorney who has never built or run an organization.
catherine engelbrecht also knows how to build a business, which I think is important credentials for RNC leadership
This is in the weeds. In the weeds you can find exceptions to every rule, but you can’t find enough money to support thousands of political campaigns by only going after small change donors. So, nobody is a crook because they separate the big money donors from their money to support the Party. Many billionaires are good honest people, but you can’t finance a political Party without lots of BIG donations. Harmeet should not be pilloried for doing what Party Chairmen are supposed to do. The only difference between Demcommies and Repugs is that wealthy Collectivists usually love Demcommies and wealthy Free Marketeers usually love Repugs.
But I’m the problem. I’ve lost faith in the self-appointed leaders of my preferred political persuasive movement that I will possibly never give them money, expecting it to be used to my specific harm. Too man Democrats think their political leaders are working for them. Too many Republicans, like me, think their political leaders are working against them.
And this is why local campaigning is so important.
I’m in for CE
