Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Christian Liberty
By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam
Christian liberty is a priceless possession. It can be abused, of course, but legitimately used it is an overflowing source of spiritual joy and power.
God’s purpose with regard to the liberty of the believer in Christ is aptly summed up for us in one short verse in the Galatian letter:
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another” (Gal. 5:13).
As the cause of spiritual decline in Israel was always their departure from God’s Word to them through Moses, so the cause of spiritual decline among believers today is always their departure from God’s Word to us through Paul, and if anything is made unmistakably clear in the Epistles of Paul, it is the fact that believers in this present dispensation of grace have been delivered from the Law and, as God’s full-grown sons in Christ, have been “called unto liberty.” The failure of God’s people to appropriate and enjoy this liberty today results in spiritual decline as surely as did the failure of the people of Israel to observe the law of Moses in their day.
Could anything be plainer than those passages in this same Galatian epistle, where the Apostle says by the Spirit:
“CHRIST HATH REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree” (Gal. 3:13).
“But when the fulness of the time was come, GOD SENT FORTH HIS SON, made of a woman, made under the law,
“TO REDEEM THEM THAT WERE UNDER THE LAW, THAT WE MIGHT RECEIVE THE ADOPTION OF SONS” (Gal. 4:4,5).
Thus, to reject our blood-bought liberty and go back to the servitude of the Law is to repudiate not only the Word of God, but the Word of God to us, and this must necessarily result in spiritual decline.

Galatians 5:13 ¶ For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
2 Timothy 2:19 ¶ Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
22 ¶ Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Arlington was where Robert E. Lee lived before the civil war. He did not own it, but was the executor of the Washington Custis estate which did own it. When he abandoned the property to fight for the Confederacy the US government seized it. The heights were necessary for the defense of Washington.
Union Brigadier General Meigs however considered Lee a traitor. Meigs was the Quarter Master General of the Union Army and had the power to designate part of that property right up by the house where Lee had lived as a cemetery where Union soldiers would be buried. It was an act of vengeance. He imagined Lee someday coming back to that house and looking out the window at the graves of those he was in part responsible for putting there.
The Spanish American war did as much to reunify the north and south as any other event in our history and a few former Confederate soldiers that served in that war were buried at Arlington.
There is no division between the honorable dead who died fighting for this country.
Thank You. This will be shared with family & friends.

✝️ Pastor John Penry died faithful to the Lord he served. There were far too few pastors assigned to teach the Welsh, and of those, many were absentees from their flocks or little better than rogues. A Puritan separatist in his thinking, Penry could not accept a state-run church system. As he put it, “The truth of Christ, and ministry of Christ…will be in bondage to no anti-christian power.”
Strong words of warning against Queen Elizabeth written in his notebook were seized upon as treason. Archbishop Whitgift was the first to sign his death warrant. Penry was hauled off to be hanged. A thin scattering of bystanders, none of them his friends, watched as the 34-year old departed this world at the end of a rope about four in the afternoon. He was not allowed to preach a final sermon.
Thank you for this post. After witnessing churches obey their masters instead of tending their flock, it seems we are still shackled with state run church systems.

✝️ Pastor Joseph Alleine was thrown into prison for refusing to stop preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. When the “Act of Uniformity” ordered Puritans to either conform to the Church of England or abandon the pulpit, Joseph was one of over 2,000 English pastors evicted. However, he kept right on preaching. Since he did so within 5 miles of his former pulpit, he was in violation of the law.
Over the next few years he went back to prison several more times until, worn out from overwork and abuse, he died at the early age of thirty-four. Faithful to the end, he is regarded as one of the most beloved Puritan writers.
Nice to “see” you, WP.
It’s been a while. Thanks, nice seeing you too ?
Tonight our little foundling kitty, Tinkerbell, came in from a day spent in our yard. She loves being outside, although typically she rarely ventures boyone the boundaries of our front or back yard. She tends to be very territorial about that. Bad weather was coming so I brought her in, made sure she had some food and water and then retired to the living room to watch some TV. As I was laying on the couch, I became aware of a kitty purring my ear. Looking up, little Tinkerbell had climbed onto the arm of an adjacent chair and snuggled net to my ear where I was lying on the couch. I patted my chest a few times and she purred even louder. I scratched between her ears—a favorite spot—and was rewarded with a couple affectionate nose nose-nussels. Then little Tink climbed onto my chest, curled up, looked up at me, gave me a nose-lick and went to sleep. if you are an animal person it is hard to ignore the feeling that, despite all the crap that’s going on in the worl—in your tiny little insignificant private space—all is well for, at least, a few fleeting minutes . . .
I love happy ending found-pet stories. S0 Here’s a good one. . . .
Amen. My little dog is on the couch licking my feet as I read your post.

When I lived in England, we had a Blue-point Persian that was our baby! One day, my DH comes home with the cat in his arms, wondering why she was outside. We rarely ever let her out, but I was busy and just said that I had no idea how she got out. Later, I was reading the paper and just relaxing, when I noticed this cat wasn’t ours! It was a male, and a lot larger. Our female was teasing him, and trying to make a friend. I called out to my DH, ‘Honey, this isn’t our cat”!
We made up flyers with a photo and placed them around town. He had his name on his collar, so we knew it would help ID whoever really owned him. In 2 days, we received a call from a lady that lived about 1/2 a mile from us. It was her baby! She came for a visit, and you could tell that was his Mom! He was so happy to be rescued from the clutches of “Ruby”.

The best contry music songs—and you can listen of decades of example to search this out— are songs that celebrate the pain of bad or failed relationships. Texas’s Sunny Sweeney understands this perfectly well. There’s pain in her songs— there’s redemption and resignation there too. Sunny Sweeney signs about reality . . .

Palm Sunday 1965. A day I will never forget.
I watched three tornadoes hit Kokomo, IN that day. Then a few days later rode in the car with mom was she drove around surveying the damage at places like Rushville and Alto.
Never forget seeing a tractor sitting in a field with a piece of lumber driven right through the engine block or seemingly solid brick and stone buildings pushed off their foundations.
I lived in Anderson but was visiting cousins in Kokomo that fateful day. No basement to run to so we just watched them go by. We were in sight of that water tower with the red and white checkers on it and watched one skip over it.
I remember us driving up US 31 which those tornadoes had crossed. The most powerful one had followed north right up that highway for a ways before turning back to the NE. The official story is there were two F-3s that hit Kokomo. They’re wrong. There were three! I saw them.
Back then, before the bypass was put in, US 31 went right through part of the town and I kept seeing all of the debris that had been driven into the ground in the culverts bordering the road where that tornado had gone along it. That is when I began to question the advise given by the authorities because it seemed to me the last place one would want to be was in one of those culverts.
Somewhere I still have the special newspaper addition put out by the Kokomo paper after the event. I remember this photo. The caption read. “The sign says Alto, but the town is not there”.
There were 47 tornadoes identified hitting in the midwest over a period of 11 hours during that outbreak. Third largest outbreak in Indiana.

This is the 100th year of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (1921 – 2021).
There was a brief segment of a documentary about military cemeteries that I saw on television. I wanted to learn more about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and found a website on the Society of the Honor Guard.

Good morning all.
So occasionally I have seen people post good book reads.
I have a son that is 11 and a daughter that is 12. I’m looking for good books for them to read. Something with character, action, and good Godly morals. Every internet search brings up Harry Potter type garbage.
Could anyone offer advice on something they read as a child that left an impression?
DD
Rush Limbaugh and Callista Gingrich have books that you would approve of.
I have been blessed with two grandsons that enjoy reading physical paper books.
Good morning, DD! I loved to read when I was young (still do, just not as much time to indulge!). Several books come to mind for your daughter. ‘I Married Adventure’ by Osa Johnson. Osa married Martin Johnson, the first well-known big game photographer and her stories of their travels in the early 20th century are amazing. Another one I loved and reread was ‘Mrs. Mike’. Sorry, no author comes to mind. It is the story of a young woman who marries a Mountie and goes to live in the wilds of Northern Canada. It is quite a contrast to our realities and the comforts we enjoy.
Check out recommended reading from Focus on the Family. I’m sure they have a number of suggestions for your kids that are more contemporary.
Thanks. We have been into the Ladd family adventure lately.
DD
Illustrated Classics are still around.
I loved them 50 years ago.
Good way for kids to read classics at a young age.
I am waiting for my grandkids to get a bit older and get them some.
If you have Kindle, they relatively cheap too.
Hi Dan…I am going to recommend books to you that have left impressions on me, our two daughters, and on our grandchildren. The following titles should be just right for your son and daughter:
Number the Stars, by Lois Lowry
The Bronze Bow, by Elizabeth George Speare
The Trumpeter of Krakow, by Eric P. Kelly
From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basl E. Frankweiler, by E.L. Konigsburg
Stellar, gripping writing, with well-drawn characters that are flesh and blood…no wizards, supernatural, or dead beings.
I have found books for our grands by doing searches for Christian authors–then adding genre: mysteries, etc.
The Once and Future King – TH White
Youth – A narrative – Joseph Conrad
As I recall, I laughed till my diaphragm was tender. Both of them .
Bittersweet, I’ve lost so much vision reading is now torment. Use it while you can.
The Once and Future King changed my life. I had to read it with an Oxford Dictionary of English to get through it, but I’ve read it 3 times and it’s still my favorite book!
Thanks. I will look into this one.

Hi Dan,
Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer Detective, and Tom Sawyer Abroad. Use to read them plenty of times when I was your children’s age. I still enjoyed them now in my 60’s.
They are available as free downloads from iBooks. I’d get the early 20th centuries editions since they’ll have the original unchanged language. It may be somewhat shocking to today’s children if they have only known pc stuff. There aren’t any vulgarities just written the way people use to speak in the 1800’s.
A man named John Senior has written a list of 1,000 good or classic book titles for children of all ages.
I found John Senior’s list in a printed book he wrote about Christian culture. His full list is on several websites now.
At that age I really liked The Count of Monte Cristo’ by Alexander Dumas. and the Barnoness Orczy books of the adventures of ‘The Scarlet Pimpernel.’ I liked ‘Treasure Island’ by Robert Louis Stevenson also. As you can, see I liked historical settings.
Science fiction’s Grandmaster Author Robert A. Heinlein’s juvenile series is an excellent place to start. I can tell you that it certainly made an impression on me.
And there’s something to be said for the classics such as flyover mentioned, even if you think they may be beyond such young ages. You may be surprised; I know my parents were. Reading the novel “Godfather” at age 9, yep that definitely raised their eyebrows. Hey, but at least I waited until my Mom had finished it.

Verse of the Day for Saturday, May 29, 2021
✟
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 6:1-2 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
BE MY VOICE
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.
Good morning . Thank you to all veterans , spouses and dependents for your service. 🙂

Biden Presidency is a three dollar canard. To be conned and cowed like this is, in addition to all else, an international humiliation that cannot be forgiven.
I want scalps. Democrat scalps. Bloody ones. And lots of them. I want the Leftists who engineered this in the housgow for a period measured in decades. No consideration for parole. Straight time.
Given these transgressions are gallows worthy, I expect demonstrations of remorse. And if foreign money in exchange is proven, the gallows may by indicated.
No getting away with this.

Gonna be a lot in the media about the “Tulsa Race Massacre” this year, the 100th anniversary. All victims-of-racism stuff. But as I recall history, the whole thing started when a mob of armed BLACK men drove around Tulsa killing WHITES. A white mob retaliated. So what really happened was, a BLACK mob started a race war, and lost. I bet you won’t see that anywhere.
They’re trying to reenact it in real time, so actually we may well see it everywhere.
This article excerpt appeared in the Sunday Edition of the Oakland Tribune on December 17, 1961, page 2S.
“It was the summer of 1942, and things were not going well for us in the war,” said Elma Dean in her quiet voice, “and so many of our sons, some of my friend’s sons, were being killed. I was going around with tears in my eyes.”
Her tears for the heartbreak of other mothers were crystalized in a poem, “Letter to St. Peter, ” and the tiny Oakland housewife suddenly became known around the world. Her sonnet of lament for boys so young to die, and hope that something would make up for what they missed down here, brought her letters from mothers throughout the nation, was inscribed on the wall of an American cemetery in England, was read by a United States senator at another cemetery in Europe, and found its way even into the National Geographic and the Congresssional Record.
“It was a maybe a little sentimental,” said the author “and it isn’t the best poem I’ve done, but it was what the public liked the best. I’ve been in many anthologies–not the vanity kind–but I am happiest about being in Louis Untermeyer’s ‘Mid-Century Edition of Modern American and British Poetry”– and it was another poem, one from the New Yorker.”
In the process or becoming a poet, winning awards and getting into anthologies, Elma also enjoyed being a wife and mother–and now grandmother. [About her husband’s reaction to her poetry,] “I’m afraid he’s an admirer of mine,” said Elma with a gentle, hazel-eyed smile. “When I showed the St. Peter poem to him, as I always do when I think I’ve done something any good, he said, “this will make the Readers Digest.” by Kay Wahl.
I’m glad to see this article.
https://www.theepochtimes.com/veterans-speak-about-memorial-day-its-not-about-us_3836117.html
There are way too many who apparently still don’t understand that the Memorial Day observance is not about every veteran, past or present.
Heard someone say today, “Happy Memorial Day”. Really?
Memorial Day is to honor dead servicemen and women.
Haven’t talked to my Once-a-Marine/Always-a-Marine son today, but almost every Memorial Day he is approached by someone who doesn’t get it. You would think the word “memorial” might give a clue.
All veterans are honored on Veterans Day/November 11. This kind of goofiness is no different that obama mentioning, at a Memorial Day service at Arlington, that he saw in the audience some of those being honored. Memorial Day does not honor anyone who is present in an audience, standing on their feet.
This is not a time to wish someone a “happy holiday”. It ain’t about anyone who is still alive.
I’m grateful that this year, as it does very occasionally, Memorial Day actually falls on May 31–which is Memorial Day as far as I’m concerned. All they did by making it a Monday was that they provided another 3 day weekend to their lobbyist groups.
Yes we are honoring those that died. However, I personally believe we need to always honor all that served.
Just my opinion.
Based on numerous conversations with family members who have been and are in the military, I have learned that those who are serving (and who are still alive) do not appreciate (regardless of what the intention is) having the day that is dedicated to the memory of those who died somehow minimized and generalized by rolling into the conversation those who are still alive. They see it as sort of a slap in the face to those who died to blur that line, regardless of intention, and they want no part of it.
Active military want to honor those who died. Active military do not welcome those lines being blurred. They want those who have died to be singularly honored on this day.
lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and his family as they seek to lead America back to You. Also, we pray for Angels to protect and support our Sundance as he works for justice and peace.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
Amen…
Amen
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Happy Memorial Day
We must never forget the sacrifices of the many people, their families and loved ones. That is why we must hold on to holidays such as Memorial Day.
Became a music fan of Costner when I heard this song and then the reason for the writing brings tears to one’s eyes. When Costner was doing his interview he said the writer was walking in a southern cemetery realizing how many Civil War soldiers had died on just one day. Costner’s words on at the memorial service almost mirror what I think of when there is death, especially multiple deaths in some huge battle.
“Costner and Modern West sung the song on April 14, 2012 at a ceremony in which a memorial was dedicated in honor of five soldiers from Fort Knox, Kentucky, who had been killed in Afghanistan. “This loss of a child, a husband, a daughter… we know that a song can’t heal that,” Costner said during the performance. “But, ‘When the Angels Came Down,’ that’s what we like to think, that when our loved one was suffering the most, that angels covered them, (took) away their fear and took away the pain. And, if we can live with that idea, I think we can all sleep a little better.”

My American Friends, I am Israeli and a Trump supporter. I used to post here frequently, things that are not covered in American media. Many of you know me. After the last elections in the US
I went silent because I was both busy and the situation was very depressing with the Socialist / Globalists takeover of the control of the US. I am following and see that you friends are well aware of what is happening so I will leave this subject alone. However you have seen recently a war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and at the same time a violent uprising of Israeli Arabs from within. Now we are witnessing a wave of antisemitism in the US and Europe.
The media and YouTube is full of anti Israel propaganda, some seems “logical” and persuasive.
if you want to really understand this conflict beyond the media and noise it will take some minutes to view the following video. The man is Mordecai Keidar. He is one of the world’s experts on Arabs, he speaks their language and knows their history and religion better than anyone.
He was a high ranking Israeli Intelligence Officer for decades and his explanation of the conflict is the best I could find. After this all of it make sense:
Good to see you, David! You’ve been in in our thoughts, especially these past weeks.
✝️ Thank You Lord, for the day.
Amen.
