Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Good morning, pushed a few ladies around the dance floor to these. 🙂
Love the old photos in Tammy’s version.
Hank Thompson did a song called “The wild side of life”. The Chorus “I didn’t know God made honkytonk angels…Big hit.
The next year 1952 Kitty Wells answered back with. “It wasn’t God who made honkytonk angels”. Great voice.
The first Queen of country Kitty Wells.
Music with meaning tells a story. This song reminds me of my parents. They were MAGA all the way and their last votes went to PDJT before they both passed away in late 2019.

A True Catholic
By Pastor Paul M. Sadler
(The author wrote this article using three paragraphs. I split each paragraph in half for ease of reading on mobile devices – D_I)
In the Catholic Encyclopedia, the entry for the term “Catholic” begins, “The word Catholic (katholikos from katholou—throughout the whole, i.e., universal) occurs in the Greek classics….” We agree that the term catholic simply means “universal.” In the early church, the terminology catholic Church was used by Christians to distinguish the true Church from those who held to the heretical teachings of Gnosticism and pantheism.
The true Church is comprised of all those, regardless of their race, gender, denomination, or other religious affiliation, who place their faith in the finished work of Christ (Eph. 1:12,13), that He died for their sins, was buried, and rose again the third day (I Cor. 15:1-4). According to the Word of God, the true Church is called the Body of Christ (Eph. 1:22,23; Col. 1:18).
The Roman Catholic Church, as we know it, technically did not come into existence until 325 A.D., during the reign of Constantine, the ruler of the Roman Empire at the time. He adopted Christianity as the state religion of the empire and adopted all the trappings that eventually came with it. While Rome has always touted itself as being the “true Church,” which is universal, the very title, Roman Catholic Church is a contradiction of terms.
Roman is a “specific term,” referring to those who align themselves with her unsound teachings and her pope, while the term catholic means universal. In reality, it is the Protestants who believe that the Church, the Body of Christ is catholic or universal. This universal Church would include our Roman Catholic brethren who have placed their faith solely in the finished work of Christ, and not in works or the organized church.
Rome has often pointed out that the beliefs of Protestantism are something relatively new. It claims they are merely the fruits of the Reformation, which is far from the case. We certainly agree that the Reformers were used of the Lord to confront the indiscretions and outright errors of the organized church of their day and to encourage believers to return to the Scriptures as their final authority. The Reformers, to their credit, were simply returning to biblical Christianity.
Essentially, the beliefs of the Reformers were the same as the early Christians during the first three centuries of Christianity. Some of those teachings include the sole authority of the Scriptures, justification by grace alone through faith alone in Christ’s finished work alone, that there is only “one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,” etc. Most evangelicals today, ourselves included, hold these doctrines to be among the fundamentals of the faith.

Ephesians 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
1Corinthians 15:1 ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
1Timothy 2:1 ¶ I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
Ah well,
I suppose the old anti Catholic propaganda has to get an airing every now and then. Otherwise the attempts to denigrate the One True Catholic Faith might be forgotten.
No Catholic of repute refers to the the Catholic Church as Roman. That term was invented by Henry 8 after he was refused one of his many divorces.
God bless all on here and remember we are all on the same side of fighting the satanic culture which is enveloping the world.
Thank you Patrick.
Listen, daily you post religious matter. Frequently I disagree with it, and sometimes I consider it heretical. You get a voice here, as do I, and those with other points of view. But I will not stand by and allow you to head on attack my faith. You post one like this again about Catholicism, Judaism, or whatever and I’ll trash your post every.single.day.
You can’t change history. Jesus Christ established his Church.
This Treehouse is not a forum for a religious free for all. Any attempts to make it so will result in trashed comments and moderation or banning.
Thanks! If T Monroe were here they’d agree too!
This I know!
“The prayer of a righteous man availeth much”.
Why say this?
The mountains moved were moved in a closet not on a platform. And those who prayed those prayers are only spoken of in heaven or Gods word.
Forget about religion, Jesus did.
Happy CATERDAY!!! Pet ‘yer kitties for me.
That took me back…

Tuba Skinny survived the plague! They’re a little bit smaller (and we really miss Erika Lewis, of course) but, wow, just knowing they’re back playing on the street in New Orleans is cause for celebration. Yo, Tuba Skinny! Long may you wave darlin’s! Edit: They really did survive and are playing. I just skipped over a ’21 performance for this one, thinking it was also done in ’21. Operator error!!!
The worst times to drive. Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon and evening. On Friday people heading out to start their weekend and on Sunday they are heading back at the end of their weekend. Sunday afternoons and early evenings can be as bad as any weekday rush hour.
Fairly heavy load coming back yesterday. About 43,000 lb of freight but the real dicey part was that the 2nd stop put over 7,000 lb on the tail. Slid my trailer tandems as far back as was legal for the Indiana and was sure I was barely legal. Didn’t bother to weigh, just gauged it by the pressure gage for the drives on the dash and the squat of the super single tires on the trailer. The KY chicken coup gave me the bypass and the Indiana coup at Seymore was going to pull me in to weigh but was full to the line so I could legally not pull in and went on by.
Heavy loads like that on this TENNECO and NASG (North American Stamping Group) run are extremely rare for this run but I have I had two this week.
7000 on the tail is always a worry, isn’t it, rah. One good thing about supers on the trailer is they seem to “Show” weight a little better than duals.
You may have been close on the trailer, but not over gross at the KY scale…
Glad the line was full and you didn’t have to go in for a” pressure check” at the IN coup.
I was thinking of you today as I was coming down a long steep grade.
( Yesterday (iirc) you made mention of “Rookies” and “Binders”)
Well, one (rookie) went by me as I rolled over the top…
in a “Heck of a Rush”…
And…. I went by them…
a few minutes later as they sat on the shoulder…
4-ways flashin, hands on hips, smoke belching off their “Binders”…
Stunk up the place pretty good.
Good to see you’re back on the big road.
You keep the Shiny side Up..
And the Rubber side Down
Be safe goin That a way..
I really like this Samsara tab system we are using now compared to the Qualcom. The company I worked for helped develop it and it was a pain at first until they worked the bugs out. Now I Love it! Shows all the HOS clocks prominently (time to eight hour break, drive time remaining, time left of 70 hour). Automatically keeps track of per diem so a driver knows exactly how much they have coming. Has the Drivewyze system for weight stations. And entering bills is easy and quick. It also has GPS navigation on it but I haven’t used it. I like my Rand McNally truckers GPS. Really is by far the best system of the three that I have used during my time as a driver. And those services are one heck of a lot cheaper than QualCom I am told.
Rah. Weekend drivers will kill you. People have no respect for how hard it is to stop 43000 pounds.
I was running 401 in Toronto. Typical rush our traffic. Everyone screaming down on ramp and jamming in front of trucks who try to leave space. I got so sick of it…locked her into a gear that was consistent with traffic flow and refused to touch the brakes. Sure enough woman tried to squeeze in front of my Western Star and we traded paint. I didn’t even stop. She waved fist wildly at me and called OPP. I was called into reporting center and told the story. Officer at counter nodded and said it was an ongoing problem, not to worry but it and that they would fine the driver of the car with improper lane change. Nice to see law enforcement stand up for the truck drivers.
Hey CTH family. Have a blessed day. Sure is shaping up to be a nice weekend here in Southern Ontario. God knows our every need and loves us so much. Stay the course.
I love how Sundance wrote, “Throw sand into the machinery whenever possible.” We do that when we don’t get defeated by the evil around us. Heads up. To the cross I cling.
DD
I reckon I was grossing about 76,000 lb. pulling a standard 53 foot dry van trailer.
People coming off the ramp seem to think they have the right of way. They don’t. It is incumbent on the driver on the interstate to try and work with the traffic flow to allow people in, but when it comes down to it, those merging are responsible for getting on the interstate safely.
One Sunday morning when traffic was very light I was going around Columbus, OH on the 270 by-pass. Looked at a ramp as I went by and at the top was a car coming down. No other traffic around me and no other traffic on the ramp. That woman tromped it and must of been doing 80 mph down that ramp to get beside me, thinking should would force me to get over. She was disappointed. Drivers like that can hit the guardrail, hit my rig, or go into the ditch. I really don’t care. The fewer there are of them but better off we all are.
401! Ran it many times between the Ambassador bridge and the Toronto area. During high traffic times lots of people using entrance ramps as a passing lane.
Exactly. I always say that they should run the express lanes all the way through the city with no access to collector lanes. Any drivers using 401 for intercity driving can fight with the collectors.

Since we have no chance to win a full frontal assault our strategy is death by a thousand cuts.
God Bless all you truckers for haulin’ our stuff

My wife Loves that I’m a trucker. But she was broke in right by our time in the Army. A few days away from home is nothing compared to what we used to deal with. Heck she has an “I Love Trucks” pin on the sun visor of her car and has two T-shirts from the company I drive for that she loves and uses as sleeper shirts.
Gradually getting better. Still building endurance. Pretty tired by the time I got back Friday. Weather and traffic didn’t help. But right now I am running about 7 hours on the trip back and I have to build back up to do the same for 11 hours day after day when necessary to be ready to go back to being a salary driver. So I reckon I will stay on this run for at least a couple more weeks. When I get back from a run and feel that I have a lot left in the tank I’ll know I’m ready.
Still some discomfort when sitting in the saddle for hours but that also is getting better.
Gettin’ back ok just means that restin’ is that much better! Good on ‘ya, rah.
Thanks Garrison.
Went to bed at 20:00 last night. Got up three times to use the bathroom and posted the above one time and went back to bed. Didn’t get up until 08:00. Sleep periods are getting longer between bathroom trips and that is a great sign.
Start taking a saw palmetto supplement such as the GNC brand Men’s Saw Palmetto Formula or Puritan’s Pride’s 450-milligram product.
And it’s a MUST to read Shane Ellison’s book, Over-The-Counter Natural Cures. (I learned about it in the comments here from a good CTH reader.)
God willing, saw palmetto will help you immediately.
I’m just healing from the surgery that is supposed to fix all that.. Every day I get a little better. Today urinated like a 16 year old for the first time in a very long time. Retention getting better all the time as is control.
I am posting the following in the spirit of sharing OPENLY how I am advising my own family. These are entirely my own informed opinions. I am not a scientist, nor an authority on this virus or the vaccines. I hold no special interests nor do I claim any authoritative mastery over the subject matter. The links provided are not sponsored and I receive no financial or any other gain or privileges. I link them simply because they are useful to address a set of questions that have come up within my family and neighbors and I have spent many many hours days and months examining this pandemic and learning about how to mitigate the risk and how best to form decisions about it. I am open to any debate and invite anyone to join in and give me some feedback and critique my ideas and suggestions.
So with that, lets get with it:
THE QUESTION: Should I get the vaccine for the COVID-19 Virus. ?
There is no easy way to answer that question because there are many factors and ultimately it becomes a personal decision.
BUT, there is a good way to determine if your natural immune system has had an encounter ALREADY and has developed the antibody defenses to reduce the chances you will get sick. My opinion is that it’s a fairly good probability that nearly anyone in the US has already had exposure to this virus. So the question really then becomes: Do I have an immune defense established from that exposure. ? This is probably very useful information to know before making a decision to get a vaccine or not. Having this knowledge about the state of antibodies your body has made in its natural defense response is very useful information that will help you make your decision.
There really is only one way to determine the answer to that question.
And that is to get a COVID-19 Antibody test performed.
This test is very different than a COVID test.
Let me explain:
A COVID-19 antibody test measures IF you have the antibodies that show your immune response system reacted properly to a prior exposure to the virus. Assuming you had such a virus exposure, you would want to know if you immune system currently has built up good defenses against it. This test show this. It will either be positive, or negative. Positive means the antibodies are present and infers immunity to the disease of covid-19.
A COVID-19 active infection test is very different. This test is measures actual virus or virus remnants/particles. This test does not measure if your body manufactured the correct defense and the inferred immunity to it. These were the tests that were designed early on, to determine how to gauge the expanding spread of the virus across the entire human population is useful to the pandemic science and health organization to locate resources, determine policy, etc. Many people got the test to determine if they are infected by the virus. If one got ill and was admitted to a hospital this is the test that was performed to determine if the cause of that illness was COVID.
We are now well past the initial stages of this pandemic, and the virus has created so many positive cases, we can assume nearly everyone has been exposed. And we are also presented with option of getting the jab with a vaccine. I currently hold reservations about these unknowns about these vaccines and long term safety and efficacy.
So NOW the question becomes: Have I already established inferred immunity from prior exposure to the virus? In other words, has my own body produced good defenses that make it unlikely for me to get sick in a future re-exposure to the virus?
One way to do that is to get the antibody test. This will show you if you have that immunity. This kind of test (antibody) will give you some confidence and help guide you on the vaccines decision.
Let me explain the basic kinds of tests to make sure we know what they are, and how they are completely different from one another:
The antibody test is a blood draw. A lab will be testing you blood for a specific type of antibody and threshold “count/number” of those antibodies.
You will get a report of this lab result.
If it comes back positive, that is good news. A positive test means you have had exposure to the virus, and importantly that you body has developed a good immune response. This means you did not get sick before, because your natural immune response operated correctly. THIS ALSO INFORMS YOU ABOUT YOUR NATURAL STATE OF IMMUNITY!
So, with this information you can form a better more reasoned informed decision about getting a vaccine.
I would not recommend get a covid-19 active infection test. To be clear, it’s quite unnecessary at this point in time. What you really want to know, is:
has my body built up a good immune response from prior infection?
this will tell you alot about your current and likely future resistance of immunity to this virus.
So, remember, the blood draw is the antibody test. This is the one you want.
and the nasal swap is just testing for active infection .
In my own opinion, a “good” positive antibody test result, means I am not taking the vaccine. By body has already accomplished the good response. I am confident this inferred immunity to future infections will be a good outcome. In this instance, I would not take additional unknown risk by getting the jab from an unknown vaccine. We just have no idea at this time, what the long term safety issues will be with these next generation vaccines. It’s just that simple for me.
Now, this is about the best advice I can give at this time.
Be aware there is a slight chance you MAY never had exposure to the virus before taking the antibody test! While unlikely, you could have just been “lucky”…IF the antibody test comes back negative (no immunity anitbodies detected) then this can mean EITHER you had no prior contact with the virus OR your body WAS exposed long ago..and the immunity antibodies have deteriorated below the threshold count to infer good immunity for future infection. So you have to understand what different test results may mean for you.
To the degree we actually know with precision how long immunity antibodies remain in the body after exposure and at a high enough level to be good defenses are not fully known.
But so far, most reports I am reading is that the antibodies appear to be long lived after exposure. So I feel confident that if you test for “good” positive antibodies you are likely well protected and probably for a long time.
now what if your test comes back negative..no antibodies detected? Then you will have to consider the risk of future exposure and the prospect of actually getting the vaccine takes on a different perspective.
It is well established that the older folks with comorbities are at highest risk of illness and severity.
But here is the truth about social distancing and masks and hygiene..and I do want to be clear on this:
no matter how careful you are, eventually you will get exposure to this virus. It’s inevitable. The pandemic is slowing down on “new cases” drastically. , but that does NOT mean the virus is any less dangerous, or transmissible.
I am inclined to believe this drastic drop in new cases is attributed to large scale herd immunity. It cannot be from vaccines. There has not been enough time for the effects of vaccines to cause this drop. The drop started in Late Dec 2020, well before any meaningful vaccinations were established. And vaccinations take time to build immunity antibody production. About 20-30 days! So, the drop well precedes any effects from vaccines. This is actually very good news! This means to me , that the human immune response at scale across the entire nation has worked well to defend against this virus.
But….This virus IS likely to be around for many generations of humans. Just as the spainish flu did….all moden influenza viruses are in fact ancestors to that avian flu! Likewise, common colds, a corona type, of respiratory classs, do not ‘GO WAY”. This isn’t something to be fearful about. We deal with this every single day and each week and month and year after year. We literally life in the exposure to thousands upon thousands of pathogens that are dangerous. That should invite some confidence that the human immune response if quite effective! I believe it is. What makes pandemic so durable, is that the virus has the established numbers in the human pool and that it has all the genomic features of transmission between humans. So this virus, like those others, will not simply “GO AWAY”…this is the reality. This should not automatically give you the impression that you are going to get sick from that reality though. Another way to look at it, a reasonable perspective: Your body has likely responded vigorously to this virus and the virus is no longer novel to it. Your body NOW KNOWS how to deal with it and to avoid sickness.
And if you want confirmation of this, get the antibody test and examine the results. You will likely see a “good” positive antibody test. This would be expected. Given this virus transmits very well and has spread to every single country across the globe at a record clip in a very short period of time, it’s very highly likely you already “got it”…That should inspire confidence. An antibody test result will confirm and secure that confidence. It will also inform you about whether you really need to take a vaccine.
if you are anxious about taking the vaccine, as I am, for lots of reasons, I recommend you just get the antibody test. It will help inform you about your prior exposure and the likelihood that you will get sick in the future from it.
It’s not a perfect science. Whether we are talking about vaccine based immunity, or immunity secured from natural immune response on it own, we also need to be aware that each year, plenty of people get sick. Here we can draw from our past experiences to understand the nature of virus infection and how they spread and how they make people sick and more importantly the role of a good working natural immune response to it. Use the “seasonal” influenza virus to understand why we need not be captive to unnecessary fears! Our natural immune responses are exposed to different strains and have to develop completely different antibodies to prevent infection and sickness. I would say, our bodies are quite robust in design to prevent illness from all kinds of virus, even those that are “novel” to it.
This will also be true from this COVID virus. It will change, yes it will, but likewise your body has developed now the antibodies to keep you from getting ill.
Here is the bottom line for me: if the antibody test comes back positive, I feel confident I will not need to get the vaccine. If it comes back negative, I will probably still wait on the decision to get the vaccine, but will retest for antibody in another month.
This is my own personal opinion, and how I meter my appetite for risk.
I hope this is helpful…I pray everyone remains safe and healthy and that we continue all to live our very best lives.
note: the link above advertises a simple $10.00 cost. But be aware, there are MANY fraudulent antibody tests being advertised all over the internet, some costing 100, 500, even up to 1,000 a pop! The FDA and the CDC has established the guidelines…if you have any doubts about the legitimacy of an antibody test, contact your health professional and ask them what they recommend, and if it is licensed and meets the official CDC and FDA approval. It really is wild wild west out there right now folks. Make sure you verify EVERYTHING when making a decision.

It’s not a vaccine ?
Well Done!
Well Done, Indeed!
Thank You, regitiger!
Everything changes if you’re in a vulnerable demographic. I had my 2nd shot of the Moderna vaccine about 3 weeks ago—no adverse reactions aside from a shore shoulder for a day or so. If you are old and vulnerable the above discussion becomes pretty abstract. If going to the hospital with Covid basically means you are going to die, then getting two shots of a vaccine takes on an entirely new meaning. The hard fact is that 99.9 % of people will survive a Covid infection. But if you’re in your 60’s a Covid infection is simply deadly.
Wracked my memory for this song , Really appropriate for me, but not perhaps for thee. But here it is:
Blue Nile – Peace At Last
Garrison, I turned 70 last month. Also have COPD/asthma (used inhalers since my late 30’s) and taking an immunosuppressant for Crohn’s (no other chronic illnesses). I have never had C.A.D. – which my hypertensive, now deceased, father had. He underwent a quadruple bypass in his mid-50’s. I am also a bit underweight but NOT frail.
The Vet. Admin. nurse (I am a USMC vet) who administered my 1st or 2nd COVID immunization last month upon touching my left arm, commented I was “skin and bones”. I would surmise, contracting COVID might have been fatal for me. My only child, a son, is in his early 40’s, is capable of taking care of himself but the thought of leaving him alone (we don’t have much in the way of an extended family) served as incentive for me. BTW, like you, I did NOT have any adverse reactions to my immunizations either (I had Pfizer).
Not sure it’s abstract at all.
If you are in that age group and you want to know if your immune system has done it’s job and you have inferred immunity. Then take the antibody test.
If it comes back “good” positive, then you can have confidence that your body has immunity for COVID-19.
Bear in mind, many people in this age group (as well as many other demographics) are not prepared to get the jab. There is a reasonable amount of skepticism about the efficacy and safety of the vaccine. Long term, simply do not have ANY information that lends confidence the vaccine is safe. None. It’s assumed, but there are no long term studies proving safety. So it boils down to what you estimate your level of risk taking is.
This is where an antibody test can be helpful.
Remember this would aso be true for those actually taking the vaccine too. If one assumes that the vaccine produces a “good” positive antibody result, i.e., you have inferred immunity from the vaccine, then one could test for that. And you would do this with an actual antibody test!
so whether you have already been exposed to the virus and want to know if your immune system naturally has developed immunity, or you have taken the vaccine, it really does require an antibody test to verify.
and that is really what we are talking about. Verifying your current resistance to the virus.
My own parents are not anti-vaxxers. But they are anxious to get the jab. Because both of them are otherwise very healthy. Do not often get sick from the flu, and hold no comorbities.
So we had them tested for antibodies about 7 weeks ago.. Alas, they both came back with “good” positive antibody test results. This was not surprising. Because of their general good health and because the virus has spent a sufficiently long time that exposure would be expected.
So they remain in the “no getting the vaccine” category.
I have asked them to get the same antibody test in another couple of months and they plan to do just that. This will give them good decisions making information about future status.
As I stated, this isn’t a perfect science. We don’t live in that world of black and white. So it’s really about how one measures risk.
KNOWING antibody test results is far more superior in that decision making process than just by guessing.
And that is the point I am trying to establish here.
As my mentor has stated: there are no wrong answers here, but there are better answers than others.
In the seeming chaos of this pandemic largely controlled by hysteria, misinformation, contradictions, and doom and gloom, getting information that is specific ABOUT YOU, is getting better answers.
God Bless America
This fear has been cultivated for years, people don’t care about immunity they want the shot, period.
Step back and take a look, all we lost has been taken by fear in the hearts of Americans.
Bottom line, get right with
God because all the shots and medications be damned, we all die. When you put ‘that’ critical truth into the equation the results should change thinking.
The reason why older generations have a healthy back bone is, they lived through actual plagues, death was everywhere in all forms and life was day to day. I saw it! But, God was also always close in thought. Same with war vets. Death is natural.
I was tested for antibodies and came back negative. I will take the test again in a few months. In the meantime. I will not be getting the shots, and I am over 60. I have studies sources on both sides of the issue, and learned more than I ever thought my brain could stand.
Each of us should study the medical and moral issues and make an informed choice.
Agree and as with any medical decision, it should be based on facts, not fear.
A year and half ago, before the plandemic, researchers were posting material about ‘new’ mRNA vaccines coming down the pipe…what was in them and what they will do to a human DNA. All that information has been scrubbed from the internet and put behind private paywalls. Research today is almost impossible to get to the true facts. If I hadn’t been sourcing this type of material then I wouldn’t know today what I know now…which drives my decision making. My only regret is that I didn’t print out articles when I could!
Just had that epiphany! All propaganda all the time.
How do you know anything without the word?
Truth is always present but, do you have eyes to see or ears to hear?
The spirit of God is for every issue, to discern, truth.
I fully Agree with your strategy and decisions Menagerie..
I am over 70 and in a higher risk group due to several factors. But then I’m a higher risk for ANY flu or pneumonia. But I take no flu shots and I will not take this poison that messes with your genes but is being passed off as a vaccine.
At 74–had dose 2 yesterday–feel better than I did after dose one (some minor fatigue). Not a fan of doing this but my daughter is Big Pharma so the pressure is on. I view it as a no lose I suppose. We’re still in a mask land which I ignore as much as possible. The dog park–seriously? I am still puzzled with those cases of COvid and vaccine where seemingly normal folks just die, and quickly. I think it’s just the hand you’re dealt.
Well I’m over 65 and I’m not getting any vaccine. Never had a flu shot either. I don’t remember the last time I had a cold, it’s been years. Just a personal choice IMO. I try to eat healthy and I belong to an anytime fitness gym that’s open 24 hours ever day. I can go in there in the middle of the night and be the only one there. MAGA

Garrison, I’m 64 and got the CCP virus right after Christmas. Took the Z-pack and Ivermectin, started Dexamethasone but had to check in the hospital when my oxygen saturation levels dropped below 90 in the high 80’s. Got the Covid pneumonia. Though according to the lung specialist it was a little late they still gave me Remdesevir and convalescent plasma. After 5 days went home on oxygen and Prednisone. Spent the month of January at home and went back to work February 1. My wife had it in a milder form mostly really tired.
We are not getting the vaccine.
No thanks !
?
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.
Amen ?

I was going to ask that too. It is hard not to be paranoid these days.
IKR??
I dunno, but our brilliant webmaster(s) got it fixed, thank goodness.
Well it came back up quickly enough. But one can’t help but wonder. Especially after I sent an e-mail to the webmaster on the message and got sent back with no such e-mail address.
Same thing happened to me, but I was on this site with the phone a little earlier with no problems.
I figured I would wait a little while and try again.
They’ve been working on CTH 2.0 every now and then to tweak it or fix some code. I’ve seen strange things happen several times over the past month or two but the weird incidents are all short-lived.
I am very appreciative that Sundance has taken such a careful approach to making the site as bulletproof as possible.
FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD
“Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do?” Genesis xviii. 17
IT’S DELIGHTS: This chapter brings out the delight of real friendship with God as compared with occasional feelings of His presence in prayer. To be so much in contact with God that you never need to ask Him to show you His will, is to be nearing the final stage of your discipline in the life of faith. When you are rightly related to God, it is a life of freedom and liberty and delight, you ARE God’s will, and all your common-sense decisions are His will for you unless He checks. You decide things in perfect delightful friendship with God, knowing that if your decisions are wrong He will always check; when He checks, stop at once.
IT’S DIFFICULTIES: Why did Abraham stop praying when he did? He was not intimate enough yet to go boldly on until God granted his desire, there was something yet to be desired in his relationship to God. Whenever we stop short in prayer and say – “Well, I don’t know; perhaps it is not God’s will,” there is still another stage to go. We are not so intimately acquainted with God as Jesus was, and as He wants us to be – “That they may be one even as we are one.” Think of the last thing you prayed about – were you devoted to your desire or to God? Determined to get some gift of the Spirit or to get at God? “Your Heavenly Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask Him.” The point of asking is that you may get to know God better. “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Keep praying in order to get a perfect understanding of God Himself.

Scenes Beyond the Grave – Marietta Davis
Chapter XXII – The Forlorn and Doomed Being
22:1
Here another scene, varying in many parts, was presented to the infants who were congregated in the centre dome for that purpose, preparatory to their advance to the superior plain, where they were to commence a life of heavenly use, unfolding and never-ceasing attainments.
In order that you may better understand what I relate, and the object of the varied representations before the infants, it is necessary to add, that one mode of instruction in the spirit world is to reveal, by figures and scenes, the principles involved in the several lessons.
There is a law by which every principle, scene, tragedy, person, creature, color, or substance in any sphere necessary to be revealed, can be reflected as from a mirror in reflex galleries; from planetariums, upon which the likeness of every substance, form, or color in a system, is daguerreotyped; or they can be represented by panoramic and continuous, revolving views; and also by personages performing the several parts, and thus, representing the various principles and actors in any scene.
By these means, spirits unlearned in scientific or artistic wisdom, in moral or spiritual laws, or the plan, structure, and movement of the intellectual, spiritual, moral, and physical universe, are enabled to receive the impression intended, so as to discern the character of all and every idea, substance, thing, organism, or entity conveyed. And so perfect are representations, that while beholding them the mind conceives the reality, insomuch that whatever is reflected becomes a part of the understanding.
To fully state the principles involved, and to delineate the varied scenes and figures employed even in that primary school, is beyond my comprehension or capacity of narration; and it would require volumes to contain their statements were they written. I must therefore condense the relation to a summary view, and you must be contented with the brief account that I give.
To be continued…
Do you know why it isn’t easy to access the world beyond??
As any great knowledge is a great burden. Most people do not want to know, it’s probably the most healthy of choices. We can all know I do not doubt it. Obedience is best, not questioning. Actually that’s our Lords way anyway.
I’ve said this before, you tread very cautiously on this because once you get a glimpse, just like our Lord, you never can go back to ignorance. And be sure “ignorance is bliss”!
Seeing The world beyond will release your fears BUT (huge but) for lack of better words ‘ you become home sick’.
The closer you come to Our Lord you will see this world and long for heaven. Not even close of a comparison.
Choices?
You are a servant, a traveler or immigrant in a land that is not yours (Abraham was that example). Engaged in saving or education of the occupants.
The other choice is The ‘salt that lost its saltiness’ good for nothing but trodden under foot.
That is the reason few are allowed to see beyond. A mere glimpse is life altering.
Our Lord chooses who, and how much. If that is ‘you’ understand you have a job, ignoring it will be misery. Embrace and you have great ability to save. And that is the only purpose. That burden is never lifted until you go home.
The curiosity is inherent for those who pursue. God is sovereign, this I know.

Verse of the Day for Saturday, March 20, 2021
✟
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
BE MY VOICE
Just a thought:
I work on aircraft, 737, airbus, 727 years ago. The airbus is relatively new to our shops but we fix them, slow, but we fix them.
I can not touch an aircraft without proof of training, licenses, and many many training courses on a particular plane. Why? There is no room for error. I must have a maintenance manual reference to anything I touch, visible and if I’m versed on a certain aircraft and repair, I have memorized ‘where’ it is in the manual, still must have it visible at all times.
How many other occupations are the same? Same reasons too, no room for error. Lives will be destroyed or lost.
We all have the most important manual ever written, sitting somewhere in our homes yet do we ever consult it for our daily lives? Very few!
Can we reference where to even look for maintenance? Do we reference any of its repairs in any life circumstances?
Our children can’t even understand it? How will they survive?
People want to ‘fix’ things, marriage, family, country, and never look at the manual.
How far do we have to fall before we crack open the manual? Use references, and make it mandatory for teaching?
Truth matters, always more than comfort.
?
“The user manual for life.” First time I heard that phrase was at a week long Bill Gothard seminar in 1980. Exceptional learning experience. The Word came alive every time he taught from it.
Your trivial history lesson of the day.
Eisenhower while Supreme commander at SHAEF always tried to make the time to entertain congressmen when they came over to visit and gave them the VIP treatment. It was politics and a necessary part of his job.
When 17 congressmen that were on the House Military Affairs Committee came to Paris he had a great dinner for them. At the dinner one congressman presented Ike with a bottle of very good Bourbon.
A few days later Ike read in the Stars and Stripes that he had sent that bottle to field hospital. He knew it was a lie because the congressman that had “presented” it to him drank the whole bottle before lunch!
Politics/diplomacy, in particular dealing with the British and the French, and communicating with Marshall on political matters, took up at least half of Ike’s time when he was Supreme commander in N. Africa and the Europe.
It was a constant battle. And the British can try and put as good a face on it as they want, but the fact is that the British Chiefs of Staff and their Chief, Alan Brooke, and Montgomery made it far harder. Monty’s claim that all resources should go to him along with two American Armies, while the rest of the US and French forces remained idle on the defense so that he could punch through straight to the Ruhr and then Berlin was logistically impossible. Even Monty’s own Chief of Staff, the very capable Freddie de Guingand, admitted after the war, that the LOCs (Roads and RRs) in the area would not support a single narrow thrust Monty was proposing.
Besides that it was completely politically unrealistic to believe that the citizens of the US after slaving to produce the materials of war would stand for seeing over half the force they had fielded sit idle while the British took over command of the only Armies that would drive into Germany to end the war. Especially while those troops and materials could have been sent to the Pacific theater to end the war there quicker. By that time US forces outnumbered the Brits by 3 to 1 and 4/5ths of all weapons and other materials of war for the ETO (European Theater of Operations) were being supplied by the US.
In the end Ike of course won but not before Brooke and Monty used every method they could to try and get their way there causing Ike and his staff a SHAEF to spend months of effort fighting off the British attempt to have their way.
In 1994 I had a chance to buy an NFA registered, Savage manufactured, M1928 Thompson SMG. Only three companies made them during the war. Auto Ordnance, Bridgeport, CT. Savage Arms, NY. Colt’s Patent Mfg Firearms Company, Hartford, CT.
The US Navy was the first service branch to buy Thompsons. Their full auto capability, ability to use 100 round drums and small profile that didn’t take up much space in the ship’s arms lockers were desirable features to the Navy. The Navy bought model 1921 Thompsons from Colt. The rate of fire was too high (about 1,000 rpm) and the Navy asked Colt to lower the ROF. Colt did so with their model 1928. Model 21’s were retrofitted to lower rate of fire and the number 8 was hand stamped directly over the number 1 in “1921”. These guns are called “overstamp Thompsons”. Both M21 and M28 accept drums and stick mags. Colt overstamp Thompsons are the grail of Thompsons.
This one had been refinished and the job was very good, no rounded corners or edges, no polishing marks. Not high gloss. A hair under satin. What caught my eye was the broad arrow on the receiver nose end. Yup, it was a Lend Lease gun. The foregrip was horizontal, which is correct, and something the Navy requested in the M1921 rework. The detachable stock was missing, but they were easy enough to find and, since the stocks weren’t serialized, using any old stock wouldn’t negatively affect value. The price? A very reasonable $4500.
It’s hard to believe it today, but I passed. I believe today’s value would be about $40,000 – $45,000 for Savage or Auto Ordnance. $50,000 and up for a Colt. Not sure how Xiden ‘presidency’ will affect NFA prices.
I fired a Thompson, and a Sten, and Sterling, and an M3, and an M3A1, and a Karl Gustav, and a Swedish K, and an H&K MP 5 and MP5K, and a PPSH-41. All of them multiple different times.
Out of all of those submachine guns the Thompson and the H&Ks were the best made weapons. I really like the Thompson because of the 45 round which is superior to the 9mm. It is heavy. Heavier than every other submachine gun I listed above. However that weight makes it easier to hold on target than any of the other submachine guns I remember firing.
Most people don’t realize just how simple the blow back operating system of a submachine gun really is.
Oh, I forgot the Uzi.
Yea! The puddle in my front yard had a sheen of ice on it this morning. I could get rid of that puddle but it would just drain the water onto my neighbors land to the south. So we just put up with it when we have heavy rains.

that butterfly wants to get at him, I wonder if he wants puppy’s saliva for moisture?
if not, then can we conclude that a low form of life such as an insect engages in higher-form-animal behavior such as play?
(is the butterfly playing too?)

Great are the achievements of faith! In the fountain of flame, as in refreshing water, the holy martyr Theodore rejoiced; for having been made a whole-burnt offering in the fire, hevwas offered as a sweet bread unto the Trinity. By his prayers, O Christ God, save our souls.
