Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Dinosaurs
By Pastor Paul M. Sadler
Many years ago, I worked at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh. When I entered the building, I had to pass by the dinosaur exhibit, which never ceased to amaze me. One of the largest ones on display at the time was a brontosaurus. This particular dinosaur made the Tyrannosaurus rex beside it look small and insignificant. After the lights were dimmed in the evening, the exhibit was unnerving to consider crossing paths with one of these monsters, back when they roamed the earth. If you have ever wondered if men and dinosaurs coexisted, the answer is a definite yes!
“Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron” (Job 40:15-24).
The behemoth in these passages is the Hebrew word for “great beast.” Notice that this beast has all the same characteristics of a brontosaurus, which we know to have been a vegetarian. Its strength is said to be in its loins—large and powerful! The tail was like the mighty cedars of Lebanon. Huge! And the bones of the behemoth were like bars of iron, crushing everything in its path. It also had an insatiable thirst and it could not be snared. He was the chief of God’s ways!
https://www.bereanbiblesociety.org/dinosaurs/
Job 40:15 ¶ Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
This is so interesting…It would be so cool to see a dinosaur! (At least the vegetarian ones!). Brontosaurus and Duckbills were always my favorites.
I used to be real active in tracking animals. It was interesting to discern the movements of animals just by looking at their tracks. Or, sometimes to see two sets of tracks where obviously more than one animal had passed over that place. Looking closer, it could be seen that here was a cougar chasing a rabbit. You get the idea.
In Utah, I think it’s Utah, there is a well defined set of footprints which show the footprints of a human and the prints of a large dinosaur. And it is shown that they were in the same time because of the overlapping of the prints one ob another.

Months after winning his 1941 Academy Award for best actor in “The Philadelphia Story,” Jimmy Stewart, one of the best-known actors of the day, left Hollywood and joined the US Army. He was the first big-name movie star to enlist in World War II.
?w=640&h=410
An accomplished private pilot, the 33-year-old Hollywood icon became a US Army Air Force aviator, earning his 2nd Lieutenant commission in early 1942. With his celebrity status and huge popularity with the American public, he was assigned to starring in recruiting films, attending rallies, and training younger pilots.
Stewart, however, wasn’t satisfied. He wanted to fly combat missions in Europe, not spend time in a stateside training command. By 1944, frustrated and feeling the war was passing him by, he asked his commanding officer to transfer him to a unit deploying to Europe. His request was reluctantly granted.
Stewart, now a Captain, was sent to England, where he spent the next 18 months flying B-24 Liberator bombers over Germany. Throughout his time overseas, the US Army Air Corps’ top brass had tried to keep the popular movie star from flying over enemy territory. But Stewart would hear nothing of it.
Determined to lead by example, he bucked the system, assigning himself to every combat mission he could. By the end of the war he was one of the most respected and decorated pilots in his unit.
But his wartime service came at a high personal price.
In the final months of WWII he was grounded for being “flak happy,” today called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
When he returned to the US in August 1945, Stewart was a changed man. He had lost so much weight that he looked sickly. He rarely slept, and when he did he had nightmares of planes exploding and men falling through the air screaming (in one mission alone his unit had lost 13 planes and 130 men, most of whom he knew personally).
He was depressed, couldn’t focus, and refused to talk to anyone about his war experiences. His acting career was all but over.
As one of Stewart’s biographers put it, “Every decision he made [during the war] was going to preserve life or cost lives. He took back to Hollywood all the stress that he had built up.”
In 1946 he got his break. He took the role of George Bailey, the suicidal father in “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The rest is history.
?w=640&h=349
Actors and crew of the set realized that in many of the disturbing scenes of George Bailey unraveling in front of his family, Stewart wasn’t acting. His PTSD was being captured on film for potentially millions to see.
But despite Stewart’s inner turmoil, making the movie was therapeutic for the combat veteran. He would go on to become one of the most accomplished and loved actors in American history.
When asked in 1941 why he wanted to leave his acting career to fly combat missions over Nazi Germany, he said, “This country’s conscience is bigger than all the studios in Hollywood put together, and the time will come when we’ll have to fight.”
?w=640
This holiday season, as many of us watch the classic Christmas film, “It’s A Wonderful Life,” it’s also a fitting time to remember the sacrifices of Jimmy Stewart and all the men who gave up so much to serve their country during wartime. We will always remember you!
Postscript:
While fighting in Europe, Stewart’s Oscar statue was proudly displayed in his father’s Pennsylvania hardware store. Throughout his life, the beloved actor always said his father, a World War I veteran, was the person who had made the biggest impact on him.
Jimmy Stewart remained in the USAF Reserve following the war, retiring as a Brigadier General in 1968. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1985 and died in 1997 at the age of 89.

Where should i look for help in resolving an issue about loosing my place in the comments each time i follow a lnk? Thanks kind Treepers!
Hi Mamamia,
I usually don’t click on links directly. I right click over the link to open the menu and select the option to open link in new tab(or new window if you prefer). Then I close that new tab down when I’m finished reading the content. That way I never have to leave the original CTH comment.
The other thing you can do if you happen to click directly on the link is to push the “back button” or arrow on your browser to return to where you were on the original comment that contained the link.
The last thing I often do with important comments I save the “comment link” to a folder I’ve created in my bookmarks. CTH now has an easy way of capturing that a comment link.
Hope this helps ~ 🙂
I dont know where else to make a bug report.
Android tablet, Firefox: tweets ect dont show until I click “desktop site.” Then they show for 3-5 refreshes, or until I post, then they stop showing.
If I launch a new page, click desktop site, they start showing again for a while.
No problem like this on Win10 Firefox.
I am going to add on to your comments. I didn’t know there was a mobile view like the old site. Since the launch of 2.0 I am using the desk site on my android and it is cumbersome. If anyone can tell me had to flip to a mobile version, that would be appreciated.
Also, I am experiencing today very small print on this thread. It happened last week also. I cannot read it without expanding the page. Not sure about the other threads since this is my first stop in the morning.

APPROVED UNTO GOD
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Tim. ii. 15
If you cannot express yourself on any subject, struggle until you can. If you do not, someone will be the poorer all the days of his life. Struggle to re-express some truth of God to yourself, and God will use that expression to someone else. Go through the winepress of God where the grapes are crushed. You must struggle to get expression experimentally, then there will come a time when that expression will become the very wine of strengthening to someone else; but if you say lazily – “I am not going to struggle to express this thing for myself, I will borrow what I say,” the expression will not only be of no use to you, but of no use to anyone. Try to state to yourself what you feel implicitly to be God’s truth, and you give God a chance to pass it on to someone else through you.
Always make a practice of provoking your own mind to think out what it accepts easily. Our position is not ours until we make it ours by suffering. The author who benefits you most is not the one who tells you something you did not know before, but the one who gives expression to the truth that has been dumbly struggling in you for utterance.
Oswald Chambers
December 15th Devotional
This is exactly what I have been seeking. Pure gold. Thanks so much.
What you wrote is the making of greatness. To unashamedly speak in boldness. Or to act on what you believe, in your heart. It’s a process to trust oneself but, the dividends are unmeasurable.
If God put it in you it’s not ours anyway, humility, it’s to share. It’s a small selfish man who withholds himself.
For me, these words, hit home. I am a person of few words ~ part of being an introvert. Typing out Oswald Chambers devotions each day, has burned his wisdom deep into my heart and yet still, actual conversation with another person is hard, friend or foe. I’ve been praying about this and the answer is above but I feel I need a healing in personality to be able to accomplish such a feat! My peace is that God knows my heart and that I am willing…
Stevie, I cherish reading the holy word and, well, reading in general. A voracious reader am I. And I have an aversion to giving too much credence to the words of any man in the important things.
Yet, I would like to suggest this You Tube channel which presents the spoken sermons of Puritans and other persons of notable character in God.

Charles Spurgeon, Dr. J. Vernon McGee and my NKJ . Never quit.
Today I have been thinking of the importance of struggle in our lives. Consider the opposite, if we spend time to make a place comfortable what can we expect of ourselves? We become intellectually and spiritually lazy. Instead, it is in the struggle that we must use what is provided us in order to increase ourselves.
Look what the apostle Paul was saying to those in Corinth in 1 Corinthians 4, especially vv 7-13.
Also, Jesus says, in 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
God provides. We either use what we have received or we don’t. But too bad to us if we don’t. We will have struggle on earth. Not only for his namesake but because of our fallen state. Yet, far better to strive on and become greater because of it. We become greater to ourselves and to others when we continue forward in what we have received. As I often had said; in no living thing does stasis exist. Either it is growing or it is dying.
Yes…It’s in the struggle where the relationship with our God is built and strengthened! When we have to strive to walk with Him…He knows then that is what we truly want, and He knows we are His! The world today is all about the easy lifestyle and luxuries! So far from God…our hearts then get cold and dark ~ with nothing left but to please ourselves! How sad! Thank you rrick!

I doubt McConnell sold his soul for a few thousand dollars. You can be sure of one thing, these politicians do not come cheap, especially at McConnell’s level.
Exactly.
No offense, but I wouldn’t squash a bug for 3000 bucks let alone a piece of legislation. Mitch might of squashed the legislation but it had to be for something more than 3 grand…the man is a multimillionaire with one of the largest election bankrolls in DC.

Now this is the payment McConnell would have expected to capitulate to the globalists. Here is the smoking gun. Will the President dare to dig this deeply with his 2018 EO. If he does not, nothing will change.
We need to “reset” our governance. Fire all politicians, local and national. Then institute a true voter id law including photo, signature verified, and purple thumb stain, then lets vote and see just who is supposed to be running this country.
This is never going to happen unless you live in Iraq.
For those who still struggle with doubt/fear, learn from the past.
Lessons learned from Kadesh-Barnea [Hebrews 3-4]
Now we have to remember that in these two chapters, especially three and four, it is a rehearsal of Israel’s rejection at Kadesh-Barnea to go in and take the Promised Land because of their unbelief. So the whole thrust of these two chapters in Hebrews is the horror of unbelief.
And I always like to point out that it was only just a few weeks previous to the Kadesh-Barnea experience that Israel stooped to the level of demanding that Aaron make a golden calf. You remember that? And in the worship of that golden calf they went down into the very abyss of moral degradation and followed in the steps of the mythological pagan worship of the Egyptians. And, of course, God dealt with it. And yet it is amazing that when they get up to the gateway of Canaan at Kadesh-Barnea and they turned away in unbelief, God doesn’t remind them of the horrible sin of the golden calf. He doesn’t remind them of any other horrible sins that they may have been guilty of, but all He is distressed with is – they could not believe what He had told them.
You see, that is the whole problem with the human race. Even today. It’s not the various sins that we are committing. [We’re not sinners because we sin, we sin because we’re sinners] It’s not the drugs, the alcohol, the immorality. It’s unbelief! Because you see, faith is the opposite of unbelief and faith does everything that squashes these things that we consider as wickedness and sin. So it boils down to the same premise. The human race’s great dilemma is simply – unbelief! source: Through the Bible with Les Feldick Book 48-1-1
We’re saved by grace through faith.
Without faith, it is impossible to please him [God] Heb 11:6
Study to show yourself approved unto God [not man], a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth [God’s word] 2Tim 2:15
Test me now and see if I won’t open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there’s not room enough to contain it. Mal 3:10 Now that’s what I call ‘winning’
