My beau is a LEO and he and most of the police I know are not NRA supporters. They do support concealed carry. Surprisingly, in many of our conversations, I’m hearing that they do not support Trump.
I think it’s because a lot of them think he’s against immigrants because of the wall and many of them come from other countries. It makes no logical sense. It’s frustrating because they seem to be single issue voters.
Even though the atmosphere is horrible for cops right now, and they see it, these LEOs are holding all politicians at fault, rather than single out the real cause which are progressives. I bring up Soros and they look at me with blank expressions. I wonder if they’re so battle-wearied that they aren’t well informed. Maybe they can’t take the time to sift thru the information floating around. Smh!

Okay. I have a son who is a police officer. He is pretty sure that every officer he knows will be voting for Trump. They know where they stand.
They have infiltrators working from inside these violent mob organizations. They know exactly what is going on even before it goes on sometimes. They view videos of the rioters so the street level cops can prepare strategies to cope with problems in real time. These mobs routinely grossly outnumber the cops who are supposed to control them. If they have to make an arrest, they have no time while they are policing the mob to do a thorough reporting of the perpetrator’s actions and they can only collect information from one another because they have to get back to the battle. Usually by tomorrow night the perpetrator has either been released by the local court or he/she/it has made bail, and is back in the action on the streets. Our cops are trying to fight a war for us with their hands tied and their minds occupied with following good policing procedures and all the while they are just trying to survive each shift without becoming another statistic for the TV pundits to sell car and cat food commercials with.
Can you even imagine what goes through their minds when they see that the daily talking points of the largest political party include such nonsense phrases as “existential threat” or “re-imagine policing”. My son says morale is very low at his department because the police are being warred upon by a bunch of morons who are getting money and marching orders from all of the richest quarters of our country where they see themselves as Nobles and all of us as Serfs. I have been trying to tell everyone I know for almost 14 years that Obama is nothing but a tool being used by the Communists who educated him.

Know this. A vast majority of Americans support your son. A vast majority are disgusted with treatment of him and his fellow officers. A vast majority would stand shoulder to shoulder with him in any situation. I wish I knew of a solution other than elections of decent politicians to resolve the situation. I was in a union for many years and always used their recommended “vote list” on candidates and propositions as a source on what and who to vote against.
For candidates I don’t have much information on, I look up the union endorsement and vote for the other guy. But if unions are switching it up, will have to be more careful.

I retired 12 years ago after 31 years with the Md State Police. The guys I still keep in touch with are all Trump supporters. Back in June I was at the range with a bunch of MSP retirees doing my yearly qualification for my LEOSA permit. The conversation dealt around how we would not have put up with all the mayhem that was going on, “back in the day”. I was on the Tactical Team for 15 years. We were trained in those days to not put up with any BS from so-called “peaceful protesters”, if you know what i mean.
Nobody should have to put up with the pulsating fecal stains we are seeing now. The problem is, we have a very willing media pushing a hard narrative thinking they will regain power for their party, and will use any means to do so. If that means blatantly lying about a perp running after an LEO with a butcher knife claiming they shot a 14 year old, they will do so.
It’s unfortunate to read comments here of LEO’s that think they should not vote for POTUS. It’s as if they are totally ignorant of the battlefield they are operating on.
To some extent, police are selected and trained to enforce the law but not “judge” criminals for what they do.
Suspension of judgement means a selection tendency toward people with liberal thinking, thus usually come from the sub-population of liberals who can do that.
If someone breaks into a house, shoots the dog, rapes the wife, you are supposed to politely put them in handcuffs if they don’t resist, read them their rights, and be sure they safely get to jail so that the system you trust will eventually do something about it.
Most conservatives wouldn’t want or be able to put up with that requirement, so most police end up drawing from the liberal population that still adheres to law.

Today we had to drive to the middle of the state and back, and the first part of our trip was through the butt-crack of Duluth where all the Hiden signs are. Puke.
Getting out of Duluth and driving through the center of the state for hundreds of miles we saw only one tiny Hiden sign the entire trip. We saw many, many, many huge Trump signs along the way and had a wonderful time calling each of them out.

The description of the shooter released by the Sheriff’s office says 28-30 YO male. The shooter DOES look small but perhaps the Deputy was able to give a better description, or there may be video from elsewhere that hasn’t been released.

We need to force them to be transparent and have a predetermined, monitored, and verifiable process in which we can have people there to oversee the counting of the mail in ballots. Otherwise, they are going to steal it We need to have the Minn. Republican all over this.

In Duluth anyone can walk in off the street and vote. They don’t need any kind of ID to vote, they don’t even need to have any kind of address; all they need is someone who does have an ID and is willing to say the “vagrant” is ‘OK’ to vote.
With polling locations all over Duluth it takes very little time to travel from polling place to polling place and vote multiple times — it’s all set up and has been working for those willing to lie for years.
There are many religious groups that do not vote — Jehovah’s Witnesses being one of those groups — so multiple votes cast by one individual are never seen as too many votes for the number of people who could actually vote in any election.
I’m New Mexico and I disagree with him carrying this state. There are too many lefty liberals in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Las Cruces, that think our idiot Governor is doing a great job! I had been involved with politics my entire life. Started out a Republican for Nixon while very much a hippie in high school, switched to Democrat and remained there during my 20s, then switched to Republican in my late 20s and stayed there until May 2015.
In May 2015 when my husband and I moved to a new area in our retirement years I told him I realized what he had been saying to me for many years was right, ‘There is no Democrat Party, there is no Republican Party, there is only the Uniparty and “they” are all the same!’ (Hubby has been calling the Swamp the Uniparty for decades.)
At that point I told him I was totally done with all things political.
A month later we watched Donald Trump announce his bid for the Presidency and once he was done I turned to my hubby and told him I was diving in again, “only for him” while pointing to Donald Trump on the TV.
I hated the fact that the Republican Party made Donald Trump sign an agreement saying he would back whoever won the endorsement, and never asked any of the other candidates to sign the same agreement.
I hated “working for” the Republican Party while really only working for Donald Trump, and it is sickening to send money to President Trump’s campaign knowing it goes to the Republican Party — the Uniparty who still does not support the President of the United States.
You are the second person I’ve seen now voicing that sentiment. In a way it’s a unifying message.
