The Florida Legislature has completed a bill that blocks any/all local municipalities from continuing “emergency use COVID orders” that restricts business and individual freedom. The law goes into effect on July 1st, and Governor Ron DeSantis signed the bill today in St. Petersburg. To speed up the process, the Governor also announced he was using his executive office to suspend all local ordinances and restrictions effective immediately.
In other words, you are free to take whatever precautions you deem personally necessary but all local restrictions are blocked.

No, he is not the only one, he’s just the leader. My governor has done a good job also. We are a Free State and have been since last May. The mask mandate was revived for a month this Winter when we had a surge of cases, but nothing was closed and the mandate was really voluntary. There wasn’t any enforcement.

The state has been open for almost a year, schools opened last Fall. Everything is pretty normal. It’s Mississippi. We had a mask mandate reinstituted for about a month this Winter when there was a surge of cases, but just for specific counties. It was a request from the governor, which wasn’t really enforced. Most people did because he asked.
The chain stores still require it, but many are not wearing them and no one says anything to you. It really isn’t necessary for the governor to sign an executive order here banning restrictions in individual cities and counties from ordering restrictions because they have better sense.
Yeah, it’s decided upon locally in Missouri. It’s bizarre to read about assumptions that everyone is under this kind of … well, tyranny..

Couple of weeks ago, I was in San Antonio Texas and had the inverse experience.
I was told by 2 restaurants that I need a mask. They offered to give me one. I just walked out.
3rd place I walked into did not bug me about a mask.
