Like you, I’m a former NYer and left a patch mark getting out of there in August of 2018. What a treat it is to live in a state where my vote actually matters! I enthusiastically voted for DeSantis for governor that year and am looking forward to campaigning to get him re-elected in 2022.

The only caveat is the people moving into Florida bringing their liberal voting mindset with them including the disconnect with understanding that it was who and what they voted for in their previous State that caused them to need to flee to Florida.
That’s what happened in Nevada, the two largest counties had the biggest influx of California escapers then voting with the same liberal bias and now Nevada’s politicians are working to institute the same laws that made California the mess it has become.

As a former Californian I find those who have had their state make a serious left turn always look to the EASY answer, Californians did it. You need to look no further than NV’s VERY liberal treatment of illegal aliens and ILLEGAL voting including documented cases of election and voter fraud in 2020.

The most important things are to stop using voting machines and go back to paper. Next, do not have any government officials, or party members running the polls. I believe this will stop the kicking out of poll watchers, and the pulling out of suitcases of ballots which frequently seems to happen afterwards.
Policywise De Santis is very strong and articulates policy very well. His challenge will be if he can connect with the people, especially voters in the middle. He has a great family, is smart, and has good presence. His charisma is definitely better than Joe Biden, but in 2024, he will be facing Kamala.
While, I am very sure he will be able to outwhit her, the issue will be whether he’s compelling enough for those in the middle to choose him over her. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
In meanwhile, the Battle of Florida 2022 is everything. We must support this young man to the hilt! Our country is at stake. I would not count on Trump because of his age. And I believe that as much as he would want to have another go at it in 2024, if sees in DeSantis someone who can take up the MAGA mantle, I think he will maybe step aside as long as his kids are in the political mix. I think DeSantis can accommodate that.
With all that being said, the dream scenario would be our lion running with DeSantis on the ticket. That would be potentially 12 years of MAGA (4 with Trump and 8 with DeSantis). That would certainly turn things around from the Obama transformation of this country. Let’s pray for that scenario! MAGA!!

Article II states: “The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.” We need those 29 Electoral College votes from FLA.

Though it is too early to seriously consider who will be the top Republican candidates for the 2024 elections, Governor DeSantis would certainly be at the top of my personal list right now. Outstanding man and Governor. We’ll see. As far as I can tell, the left appears to be very much afraid of him for many good reasons, plus, though a strong, vibrant politician, he does not have President Trump’s rough edges, edges that many of us found endearing but which may have cost him votes in 2020. He has every qualification he would need to pursue the Presidency successfully, including recognizing the vicious ruthlessness of his left wing enemies and how to counter their assaults.

We can do both simultaneously. This will involve considerable challenge. Governor DeSantis will be up to it. The rest of us must stand up also.
I’ve been following a small subgroup of Floridians in the racing community and, since about last Memorial Day, May 2020, life has been pretty normal for that group; if one didn’t know better one would think Covid didn’t exist there.
Only time I noticed some anomalies was when they’d be touring in other states and I saw occupancy restrictions at the restaurants and hotels they used. At home though, no masks, no social distancing of note, and, most importantly, practically no talk of the Covid situation at all. How refreshing. A universe different from the west coast. Thank goodness for Floridians.

Desantis said that once you are fully vaccinated you are not a threat to others and they are not a threat to you. The vaccine gives you 90 plus percent immunity. Start acting like it.
This weekend in MN I entered 2 different grocery stores with mask on, removed it after 30 seconds and continued shopping with my “partially” vaccinated wife. I had my mask visible hanging out of my pocket. No one said a word or questioned me after 20-30 minutes in each store. Every vaccinated person needs to push against restrictions and “start acting like it”. What will they do if 50% of shoppers refuse to wear a mask? They don’t have enough employees to police the store and deal with a mass disobedience to unlawful orders.
Reported a few days ago. Of the 1.5 million people fully vaccinated in Minnesota, 561 individuals contracted COVID-19 with 66 needing hospitalization, nine requiring intensive care and six fatalities, the latest data from the Department of Health showed.
Numerous outlets reported this but utterly failed in reporting that the death rate for vaccinated individuals, 6 out of 1.5mil, is .0004 percent. What that says contrary to just scarily reporting the numbers, is that once vaccinated you have almost ZERO risk of dying! There is no justification, according to the science data to have any restrictions on vaccinated.
Start acting like it! If all these people can go out and riot with no masks on and no social distance, as a fully vaccinated person, I can walk through a store without a mask.
