[Washington DC] The Supreme Court dismissed lawsuits against former President Trump on Monday that claimed he violated the Constitution by accepting gifts from foreign officials.
The legal battles concerned the Emoluments Clause, which bans government officials from receiving gifts or profit while in office.
The lawsuits claimed Mr. Trump‘s commercial businesses received profits from foreign officials during his time as president in violation of the law.
The justices, though, remanded the cases back to the lower courts on Monday with instructions to dismiss the legal battles as moot. The move came just days after Mr. Trump formally left office and is no longer a government official. (read more)

If any of them don’t have the guts to put their name to their vote, then they should resign and let the voters of their states select someone willing to act as their real representative.
Furthermore, rescind the 17th Amendment. The Founders wanted U.S. Senators to represent their State legislatures, which selected them. That provided protection against the federal government swallowing up the power of the States and was an important check on the power of the federal government. Ever since that amendment was ratified, the States have gotten weaker and the federal government ever stronger. That needs to be reversed.

It is a downright shame that former Supreme Court justice William Rehnquist passed away away only to be replaced by a loser like Roberts.

I am beginning to think that should there ever be a 2nd Constitutional Convention for this country, we should completely do away with the 3rd Branch, the Judicial Branch and the reason has to do with current events.
The Executive Branch under President Trump was ganged up from both directions by the Judicial Branch and Legislative Branch, stalling President Trump’s efforts to help steer away this country from complete ruin and destruction.
Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, the King of Great Britain only ever had to deal with a single opponent from one direction instead of two directions, like in America: Parliament of the United Kingdom.
The King of Great Britain never had to worry about being stabbed from both the back and front of his body, by both the Parliament of the United Kingdom and British judges.
Judges, unelected tyrants in black robes, have usurped far too much power in this country to the extent that a single district judge in this country can determine, stall, or manipulate nationwide policy despite neither belonging to the Legislative Branch nor the Executive Branch.
Instead of doing away with the Judicial Brand they should have term limits as should Congress.
Why does only one branch of our federal government have term limits and not all three.
