Yesterday, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the economic damage to the service industry was so severe it was now greater than the COVID risk…. and will reopen bars and restaurants. Today, a new study shows no benefit to the lockdowns.
The motives here are exactly as outlined for the past year. The fear of COVID was weaponized to damage the global economy and in doing so damage the reelection guarantee of Donald Trump. Now that mission is accomplished, the walk-back begins:

I am not in my 70s yet. But have had at least three influenza bouts in past decades that left me reeling and wondering if this was going to be my last week.
I didn’t go to the doctor or hospital because I just generally don’t do that, especially before Medicare kicked in…they seldom have any remedies that work for me, and I would be paying for the privilege of a physical inspection by a near-stranger. Not worth it.

I have often pondered why President Trump allowed the Covid narrative to get so out of hand. I thought that he would pivot from Fauci and promote a more reasonable approach. The pivot never came.
