Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Water Baptism And The Future Day Of The Lord
By Pastor Paul M. Sadler
The following was our response to a friend who inquired if baptism would be practiced again in the future Tribulation.
It does appear that water baptism will play a role in the terms of salvation during the coming day of the Lord. We know, for example, the gospel of the kingdom will again be preached, which included this water ceremony (Matt. 24:14 cf. Mark 16:15,16). When baptism was practiced by John and the twelve it was to manifest Christ to Israel (John 1:31). This will again be needful during the future Tribulation period following the Rapture.
Since Israel was to be a kingdom of priests it was essential for John the Baptist to baptize believing Israelites into the priesthood (Ex. 19:5,6; 29:1-4; Isa. 61:6). It will be necessary for this to be continued during the time of Jacob’s Trouble as well. As we know, in time past, water baptism symbolized the washing away of Israel’s sins. While this aspect of the water rite will be replaced with the understanding that believing Israel will be redeemed by the precious blood of Christ (I Pet. 1:18,19), baptism will still be observed as an expression of faith in Christ’s death.
It is our firm conviction that water baptism will again be practiced when God resumes the prophetic program in the coming day of the Lord. God will pick up right where He left off at Pentecost. What we witness in Acts Chapters 2 and 3 will be reinstated at the beginning of the Tribulation.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
John 1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
Exodus 29:1 ¶ And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest’s office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,
2 And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.
3 And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams.
4 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water.
Isaiah 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
“When baptism was practiced by John and the twelve it was to manifest Christ to Israel”
Baptism and Manifesting Christ to Israel
By Justin Johnson
Why did John the Baptist water baptize in the wilderness of Judaea?
Some sincerely think his water baptism was a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection. This could hardly be the case since his followers did not yet know who Christ was, and Christ’s own water baptizing disciples did not understand the cross (John 3:26; Luk 18:33-34).
Others think he was instituting a new testament ordinance for the church. Yet, we know that the new testament could not begin until Christ’s death (Heb 9:17); the new testament was to Israel and Judah, not the church (Hebrews 8:8); and the mystery of Christ about the church had not yet been revealed (Rom 16:25).
So what was he doing? What saith the scripture?
John Manifests the Prophesied Messiah
“And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.” – John 1:31
John was baptizing to bare witness of the Messiah, to make him manifest to Israel (John 1:15).
According to Israel’s prophecies a messenger would come to prepare the way of the Messiah (Mal 3:1). Thus John preached, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord” (Mark 1:3).
All in Israel that were water baptized were making themselves ready for the coming Christ (Luke 1:17), identifying themselves with the greater one John bare witness of.
This is why the chief priests in Israel would not acknowledge John’s baptism was from God. If they did, they would be admitting that Jesus was the Christ.
“The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?” – Matthew 21:25
Peter Witnesses Christ According to Prophecy
John’s ministry of water baptism had made the Messiah manifest to Israel.
When Peter preached to Israel at Pentecost, he also preached John’s water baptism, only now he preached it in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38).
Peter was a witness of Christ, making him manifest to Israel through preaching prophecy and water baptism (Acts 1:22; Acts 2:32; Acts 3:20-21).
If Israel was not water baptized by Peter, they were rejecting Jesus as the Messiah.
A Baptism Controversy in Corinth
We are now in a position to understand the controversy in Corinth during Paul’s ministry. If John and Peter water baptized to manifest Christ to Israel, then would believers in Paul’s ministry who were not baptized by Peter or John be rejecting Jesus as the Messiah?
This would be true if it were not for the revelation of the mystery of Christ given to the apostle Paul to preach to Gentiles (Eph 3:1-2).
John’s baptism was to make the Messiah manifest to Israel. When Paul was sent to Gentiles, he was sent with the gospel of salvation to sinners, and not to water baptize (1 Tim 1:15-16).
“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” – 1 Corinthians 1:17
Did Paul reject Jesus as Christ? This would be absurd. He was water baptized by Ananias, and preached in every synagogue that Jesus was Christ (Acts 9:18-20).
Paul water baptized some because water baptism made Christ manifest to Israel, and Paul ministered Christ. More important is why did he not baptize everyone (1 Cor 1:14-17).
Paul Manifests Christ According to the Mystery
Paul was not sent with the ministry to make Christ manifest to Israel. He was not sent with a water baptism ministry. Israel had already rejected John, Jesus, and Peter. Christ raised up Paul precisely because of Israel’s rejection of Christ and spiritual fall (*).
(*) https://graceambassadors.com/prophecy/israel/israels-spiritual-fall
Instead of making the prophesied Messiah manifest to Israel, Paul was given the ministry of making the mystery of Christ manifest to all men: Jew and Gentile (Eph 3:9-10).
“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:” – Col 1:26
When it was time for the Messiah to come to Israel, John water baptized to make him manifest to Israel according to the prophets. When the Messiah was gone, Israel fell, and the mystery of Christ was revealed, there was no longer any need for the manifestation of water baptism, but the manifestation of the mystery of Christ.
“Withal praying also for us… to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” – Col 4:3-4
Paul separated the gospel message from water baptism in 1 Corinthians 1:17.
John was sent to water baptize to make the prophesied Christ manifest to Israel. Paul was sent not to water baptize to make the mystery of Christ manifest to the world.
“Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.” – Acts 28:28
https://graceambassadors.com/tradition/baptism/manifesting-christ-and-baptism
“John was baptizing to bare witness of the Messiah, to make him manifest to Israel (John 1:15).”
”Paul separated the gospel message from water baptism in 1 Corinthians 1:17.”
The manifestation of Christ to Israel alone does not appear to be the only purpose. In addition to bearing witness to Jesus Christ, the purpose of John’s ministry related to God’s offer of salvation to all. Per John 1:7-8, “He came as a witness, that he might testify concerning the Light, that all might believe through him. He was not the Light, but came that he might witness concerning the Light.”
Looking at 1 Cor. 1:17 in its context, we see the purpose of Paul’s noting a separation of whom he personally baptized from his ministry’s primary purpose as it related to the focus of some factions of Corinthians:
1 Cor 1:12-17 —“Now I mean this, that each of you says, “I indeed am of Paul,” and “I of Apollos,” and “I of Cephas,” and “I of Christ.” Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?” I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one should say that you were baptized into my name. Now also I baptized the household of Stephanas; as to the rest, I do not know whether I baptized any other. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel; not in wisdom of discourse, so that the cross of the Christ should not be emptied of its power.”
Paul, wanting to straighten out those making more who baptized whom than was warranted, puts the focus on his call to share the gospel rather than have people obsess over who baptized them, a point that continues over the next couple of chapters of the letter.
As Paul’s initial visit involving Crispus etc. is referenced in Acts 18, an interesting question arises in the next chapter for those casting Paul as “sent not to water baptize to make the mystery of Christ manifest to the world”:
Acts 19:3-5 “And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” And they said, “Into the baptism of John.” Then Paul said, “John baptized a baptism of repentance, telling the people that they should believe in the One coming after him, that is, in Jesus. And having heard, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Why would a second “water baptism“ be done on Paul’s watch (in the primarily Gentile region of Ephesus) if the first one was sufficient for their walk, especially for accomplishing the sole purpose of Christ being manifested to Israel? Again, those baptized a second time already had received John’s baptism. Why wouldn’t “water baptism” have been wholly separated from that by Paul versus solely preaching the gospel and clearly speaking to them the mystery of Christ (cf. Col. 4:3-4), per what the writer indicates concerning 1 Cor. 1:17?
“Paul was sent not to water baptize to make the mystery of Christ manifest to the world.”
“Paul water baptized some because water baptism made Christ manifest to Israel, and Paul ministered Christ.”
Considering the possibility that “water baptism“ was a physical rite that was transitioning into obsolescence and away from necessity and practice after the fall of the temple, let’s look at another physical rite that appears to fit that description especially as it relates to Paul’s participation with it in his ministry. It is noteworthy that though Paul circumcised half-Jew/half-Greek Timothy “because of the Jews who were in those quarters” (cf. Acts 16:3), he did not feel compelled to do so with full Greek Titus (cf. Galatians 2:3), which was an important part of the issue of the place of the law that plagued the post-Pentecost, Temple-era church.
A natural question would be: why would Paul have no issue with the baptism of Gentiles (either by himself of by others), especially when the circumcision matter was such a matter of focus in his letters? Moreover, the question is raised as to what the point in Acts 16, someone evidently a Gentile — asking how to be saved and receiving Paul’s reply about belief, as it specifically involved baptism soon after that person believed:
Acts 16:29-34 –“And having called for lights, he rushed in, and having become terrified, he fell down before Paul and Silas. And having brought them out, he was saying, “Sirs, what is necessary of me to do, that I may be saved?” And they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him along with all those in his house. And having taken them in that hour of the night, he washed them from the wounds, and immediately he was baptized, and all his household. And having brought them into the house, he laid a table for them and rejoiced with all his household, having believed in God.”
Why would Paul be bringing a physical custom to Gentiles in Europe, tellingly after the Jerusalem Council? Having shared what the evidently Gentile jailer must do to be saved, why would “water baptism” have occurred in that place and situation and been recorded in Scripture, especially well after Paul and his former ministry partner Barnabas has brought Gentile believers letters that confirmed alleviation of requirements that might trouble them (cf. Acts 15:1-31)? What would that have had to do with manifesting Christ to Israel, and why wouldn’t this been a place for a line of demarcation like Paul’s resistance to circumcising Titus who was from a Greek / Gentile background?
“While this aspect of the water rite will be replaced with the understanding that believing Israel will be redeemed by the precious blood of Christ (I Pet. 1:18,19), baptism will still be observed as an expression of faith in Christ’s death.
It is our firm conviction that water baptism will again be practiced when God resumes the prophetic program in the coming day of the Lord.”
It appeared to be related to an expression of faith durIng Paul’s time (Acts 16), and is certainly regarded so by many now. Going back to a time where the issue had been raised of salvation itself carrying requirements such as works of the law (cf. Acts 15), Paul made clear to Peter, Barnabas and others what was true of both Jews and Gentiles:
Galatians 2:15-16 “We Jews by birth and not ‘sinners’ of the Gentiles, nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, except through faith from Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith from Christ, and not by works of the Law, because by works of the Law not any flesh will be justified.”
That and what follows in the Galatians letter indicate a specific delineation for both Jews and Gentiles between works / “required” physical acts and salvation by grace through faith according to the promise (cf. Galatians 3:29, Eph. 3:6). There are practices that have a place in the walk of a believer under the covenant of promise, just as there were for those under the conditional Mosaic covenant. It is shown that though its institution related to the knowledge of the reality of sin (cf. Galatians 3:19, Romans 3:20), the Mosaic covenant did not supersede the covenant of promise under which both Jews and Gentiles are saved (cf. Galatians 3:17-18, 26-29).
Per John 5:24, Jesus said: “Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.” When Jesus was asked “What must we do, that we may be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you should believe in Him whom He has sent” (cf. John 6:28-29). It is good to consider both how Christ’s words point to the timing of one’s salvation as well as what work (singular) is required directly relating to salvation.
What??!! A foot and a half of snow ??!! There goes my Sunday plan …
Mine too…no bike ride today!
let’s try this …
Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday Treepers. Always know that whatever happens, our Lord is always there with us. We can draw courage from His love because he always rewards justice and right.
Listening to Hazel sing is like listening to the collective voices of my people, the people I grew up around, and who’s culture deeply informed me about life and how I should deal with life. I don’t think I remember her but my father once mentioned that my great-grandmother often sang the Child ballads which are iconic songs of Scots-Irish culture. Hazel’s voice calls. Listening to her I can hear the familiar voices of long gone relatives. It makes me proud to be Scots-Irish, proud to be a Southerner.
Thank you and Amen Garrison! ?

WHERE THE BATTLE’S LOST AND WON
“If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord…” Jeremiah iv. 1
The battle is lost or won in the secret places of the will before God, never first in the external world. The Spirit of God apprehends me and I am obliged to get alone with God and fight the battle out before Him. Until this is done, I lose every time. The battle may take one minute or a year, that will depend on me, not on God; but it must resolutely go through the hell of a renunciation before God. Nothing has any power over the man who has fought out the battle before God and won there.
If I say, “I will wait till I get into the circumstances and then put God to the test,” I shall find I cannot. I must get the thing settled between myself and God in the secret places of my soul where no stranger intermeddles, and then I can go forth with the certainty that the battle is won. Lose it there, and calamity and disaster and upset are as sure as God’s decree. The reason the battle is not won is because I try to win it in the external world first. Get alone with God, fight it out before Him, settle the matter there once and for all.
In dealing with other people, the line to take is to push them to an issue of will. That is the way abandonment begins. Every now and again, not often, but sometimes, God bring us to a point of climax. That is the Great Divide in the life; from that point we either go towards a more and more dilatory and useless type of Christian life, or we become more and more ablaze for the glory of God – My Utmost for HIS Highest.

Good one, WeeWeed. I love short, well-informed pieces where the author has the talent to cleanly consolidate her extensive research into a few paragraphs.
Blessings to you and all!
Good evening WeeWeed! Clarice as usual posts an excellent article using her always-wise forethought.
How many times and in how many ways can TV news interview how many different people to tell you that there’s little to report other than what we already know? How is it that there could possibly be the need for 6 people to all take their turn at the mic? How is it that it is sooo important to receive this same info up until………the game starts?

The national media and radical politicians have engulfed American citizens with false information for 4 years. Their goal, destroy a President of the United States, demonize the American citizens who supported him and undermine the base that the American republic is built on.
They now use a man made Chinese virus to totally control the American people using a daily dose of fear. The virus has a 99.9% recovery rate yet they have declared it a pandemic threatening all life on earth. Although hours of media time is expended emphasizing the deadly numbers credited to the virus, media time related to the successful treatment of the virus is not provided. The use of readily available FDA approved drugs has been demonized by the national media and sometimes forbidden for use by the CDC and NIH.
Millions of Americans now live in mandated and and self incarceration of one type or another. Thousands of small businesses have been permanently shutdown while large businesses like Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, Sam’s Club, Costco record the largest sales and profits in their history. None of their employee’s leave in ambulances as could be expected by their daily exposure to the public.
After months of Masking, distancing, closing of millions of businesses FDA approved vaccines are now available and being distributed. However national media and radical politicians now demand not only masking, distancing, shutdowns etc. but even stricter limits on the freedoms of the American people to gather even as a family during the holidays and far into the future.
The radical politicians and media are destroying much more than the virus ever has or will. 100 million Americans are out of work. Soup lines are everywhere. Masked faces are disconnecting our sense of interaction, our human connection. They know their actions take away our ability to organize and defend ourselves.
The ongoing destruction of American is the result of the actions of radical politicians not a virus of any kind.
Still praying for God to help our Country survive the election of criminals using widespread fraud to get corrupt criminals elected.

I’ve been looking for a 2021 project. So … what do you think about legislative action or court of public opinion for Amazon, specifically the requirement to have regional drop-off/recycling centers for their boxes in particular (envelopes too I suppose). The company creates more waste than we could possibly know.
I am relatively sure most people would drop off the Amazon boxes if such a place were available. The entire process needs to be fully funded by Amazon itself.
Just say’n… 😉
Does your state have any
landfill bans of recyclables?
If not; use the Blue Barrel.
You don’t understand. I believe it is the responsibility of Amazon to shoulder the burden of cost, storage and selling of the recycling with their name on the container. They – Amazon create too much waste, everyone knows it and they should be tasked with taking care of it. The company will need to be forced to handle that task. So – public shaming and trial in the court of public opinion or work with state legislatures to get the job done?
Why is it the seller’s responsibility to cover the recycling when they charge the customer well below cost for the packing and shipping, and the customer voluntarily orders the merchandise knowing full well its being shipped in corrugated containers?
I don’t understand your reasoning. Should the dairy and all the other beverage mfrs pay for your plastic bottles or aluminum cans to be recycled? Should all manufacturers be forced to pay for the recycling of their products’ packaging?
Where does it end?
Ferenc Szálasi was the leader and all-powerful head of the Arrow Cross movement in the latter part of WWII. It is estimated that in the winter of 1944 between 15-20,000 Jews were murdered, and over 80,000 driven out of Hungary into Austria. A similar purge in Hungary was carried out in the winter of 1956, under the Communist Imre Nagy. Bottom line, Don’t let them take your guns.
