We have a rather unique situation here… The digital U-Haul is loaded after our eviction from WordPress/Automattic for violations of community ‘wrong think’ and questioning narratives against the interests of Big Tech. After a decade on the platform we are sweeping up the porch and saying farewell to the WordPress community.
The CTH family is disappointed at the business position of Automattic, but we are also excited about the new home we have created. CTH 2.0 is going to be awesome, liberating and even better. We are so blessed and fortunate beyond my wildest imaginings.
Right now we are patching the holes in the walls and running the vacuum while our long-time friends stop by to express their anger about our eviction. Simultaneously, those who moved away to the big city are coming back to visit and express their support.
I cannot go into details, mostly because I haven’t yet decided whether to accept a proposal for a grand exit – or stick to our customary & understated simple wave farewell, but the big city folks want to use this eviction as a warning of sorts.
Apparently, the youthful rebellious spirit within those who sold-out to mega-media conglomerates and bright lights has been triggered. A spirit we at CTH retain.
Out there in the land of the MSM right now there is a group of ‘journalists’ ideologically reminiscing for a time when the counter-culture was fighting for the truth; damn the consequences and without care for wounded feelings, delicate sensibilities or financial livelihoods. They reflect on a spirit we have retained and protected within our CTH community. A spirit we will never stop safe-guarding from enticement and compromise.
We are rag-tag misfits, we are proud of it, and -if needed- we clean up well.
We are a crew more comfy eating pizza from box on a tailgate than trying to fit in with a new media outlook of highfalutin’ big technocrats. We are, quite simply, the rebel alliance.
All of that said, a question for each of you would be:
How did you find yourself a member of the CTH community?….
What was it that brought you here?…
And why did you stick around with this group through whatever endeavors you found of value?
A notable disclaimer. Your answer(s) may end up in a very large spotlight; so think about whether you are comfy with that before you share anything. Your comment responses are always private, but also likely to be read by some very influential big city types.
An update on CTH 2.0 will soon follow. But for now, as we sit on the porch and reminisce about a decade of discussion on this platform, there are a bunch of folks who want to know why CTH matters to you.
If you feel like sharing your answer, write it in the comments.
Every response is entirely OK.
I have never known a better group of cyber-friends than this community. I have never known a larger and deeper group of experience than exists right here. I have never known a better team at assembling details, granular and specific details that outline the truth, than this crew. For that, I am blessed and incredibly thankful… Especially today.
So if you’re comfy, what brought you here?
Love to all,
Sundance
I found this site “by accident” (I use this word in quotes, because I believe “Divine Appointments” overrule all) as I was checking out as many conservative sites I could find. Am so thankful too! I had my mind quadrupled, if not more, by the volume of information available to check out for myself.
In the beginning it was much easier to do so. Since Google/Chrome, Wikipedia, twit ,fb, started removing or blocking valid information, it has caused my ingenuity to expand & grow. I am not a ‘tech” in any manner of the word, did not grow up with a computer under my fingertips, or even wanted to know anything about them, so this has also been a challenge.
I did see though, they (computers) would become a necessity, not a a fad coming & going, as time went on. At the start of my “machine journey” I was a Dept. Manager in a small, 5 chain, local owned grocery store. We went from ordering everything on paper, to what was known as Intermec’s (at the time). Because of having experience of the Intermec, I also picked up a part time job for AC Nielson Market Research as a data collector. Then the Intermec was out dated & we moved to the next machine more advanced. (Got the hint)!
Back to CTH. I tried my hand at reading threads & then conversing a bit. So far I haven’t got the hang of it (conversing). By the time I get the threads read & make a comment the subject has come and gone! I also saw, as we read others comments, it requires a bit of “mind reading” to understand the actual perspective, behind the comment to arrive at what is being “meant.” So I decided to read more than chatter.
Because of this site (had to have an account when I found it), I decided to take action when Fb, Twit, & even Google + started limiting what I could say or not say. (Long before it got this bad). I started a “Blog” with WP. I didn’t know what I was doing (still don’t) but I managed to put something together to suit me. It’s a place to share articles, videos, etc, that were banned on my other sites. I am more interested in sharing info & let others decide for themselves, if it’s of any value for them. If not, then they will find what they need else where. In the mean time I still get to post something without intervention.
Thank all of you on this site. I know many, many others are being/ have been enriched by CTH! “God Bless”!
I first found CTH around the time of the Casey Anthony trial. While following the news coverage someone on a scrapbooking website threw out the names of CTH and another site as the place to go if you were right wingers as an insult over something. Worked out great for me. The Zimmerman/Martin investigation information on here held me mesmerized daily. Dh & I actually ran into Mr. Zimmerman at a store once and I mentioned CTH to him. We had a nice chat.
I wound up here in the Zimmerman days, most likely from a link but I can’t remember the particulars.
I didn’t seek out this site–my arrival was pure happenstance. Within minutes of reading it hit me like a thunderbolt: When the student is ready the teacher will appear. CTH is the living embodiment of this concept.
I’ve always been a news junkie and followed politics. I got info from mainstream and not so mainstream sources then did my best to process it all. Before I found CTH there was always something missing though–full knowledge of the truth. Truth is a force of nature.
This place is not for everyone. I’ve been told it’s “too heavy, too detailed, too complicated” after recommending it. They were not ready. The people who thanked me for the recommendation were ready. When Donald Trump announced he was running for President on 6/16/2015 this rag tag bunch was more than ready.
Up to 2016 I’d voted for Republicans all my life and had very little to show for it. Voting for the lesser of two evils felt like a vote for evil though, and now I know why. I was voting for the “uniparty, the decepticons, the CONservatives” all along.
This site was named Blog of the Year in 2016. I wholeheartedly believe CTH played a major role in Donald Trump’s 2016 election win and the awakening of millions all over the world.
SD and the moderators are nothing short of amazing. Sundance is fearless in pursuit of the truth. He deserves more credit than I could ever give for establishing and maintaining this special place. Time spent here has made all the difference in my life. I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone here for all I’ve learned, for support in hard times, for the laughs and the shared experiences. The treepers have the best mix of your favorite qualities plus something extra that’s hard to pin down; the secret ingredient!
This is my home. We’re all kin here—links in a chain woven by our Creator stretching back thru time to our Founders. CTH is a bastion of free thinking and free speech.
And the home of free people!
I got here from a link somewhere about 6 years ago and enjoyed it so I pop in a few times a week to catch up on the news. I’m a long time fan and follower of Andrew Brietbart, and a mostly Conservative Constitutional Libertarian so I’ve never really fit into most political news sites. I thoroughly believe in free speech but the overt bias so common these days are just a turn off to me, agreeing to disagree just doesn’t happen much anymore, name calling and hysterical nonsense is the go to instead and that’s never happened here, that speaks volumes for your followers.
So you’re off to hopefully bigger and better things at a new site, congratulations on being successful enough to piss off the control freaks and I’ll be looking for you’re continued success. ?
I did not find you, I was led to you. It was not at all intentional. Though it was only a few weeks, I can not recall specifics. I remember poking around and dropped in. Taken aback by the clean fresh content, I could not get my fill. Insatiable, might be a fitting description. I longed for a local church with similar attributes. I can not express the joy in knowing truth lives.
For years, the shared comment when discussing politics and the state of this country was “there is nothing we can do about it, they will do whatever THEY want”. In 2016 everything changed. President Trump began doing what WE thought should be done, and many other things we would have never dreamed of. We began to hold our heads up and our eyes became brighter. We were seeing common-sense in action and were beginning to wonder what else could be changed. Someone rotten pulled the rug out from under us in November 2020. CTH has answers.
A fellow Conservative at work told me about CTH when the Russian “collusion” fraud evidence was first heating up back in 2017. I had started to graph out all the players in PowerPoint and he told me going to the CTH was a good source. When I visited the site I was astounded to see so many like-minded individuals and thoughtful analysis and commentary. During this election, I ironically joined WordPress, just so I could comment on certain posts. I’ll close my account next week and I’ll follow CTH wherever it goes!
For news, up until 2015-16, I’d glance at CNN and read the news in the Washington Post and the New York Times. During the time of the Republican Debates, though, I noticed that CNN, the Washington Post, and New York Times began substituting mind-reading and opinion, mostly about DJT, for actual news. The front page of the papers would be filled with opinion pieces with almost no news at all. Something weird was going on. I think it was the editor of the Washington Post who said during an interview on NPR that journalists cover primaries as a horse race and they only need to report who’s ahead. That was a stupid thing to say. The electorate doesn’t need to know about the candidates? They just need to know who’s winning? Les Moonves of CBS admitted their obsessive coverage of VSGDJT was not good for America but was great for CBS. Not sorry to see him get caught up in the Me Too movement.
So, I started searching the web for specific stories to see if I could gather facts, see the actual video, or the document discussed instead of what some talking head said. Eventually, that led to CTH. I quickly learned that the commenters brought information to the website in addition to the amazing insights that Sundance delivered, which made the website even more valuable.
I’ve told liberal friends that if they read across the political spectrum they’d be surprised at the news that is not covered by CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, WP, and the NYT. Medicare fraud convictions in Mississippi, Michael Brown’s autopsy report, the imposter witness in the Zimmerman trial, Anthony Weiner’s and Hunter Biden’s laptops, and the list goes on. They know nothing about any of these stories and, frankly, don’t want to know.
Just sorry I didn’t find CTH sooner!
