President Trump has astute political instincts… that’s one of the reasons why those who know him longest (and best) simply remind everyone to just let Trump be Trump. Our president knows our nation needs joy… He not only senses it, he inherently is tuned into it.
Leaders of large private sector institutions and large corporations all carry this skill-set. It establishes the tone and humanity of the organization. Follow this lead.
.
The value of this positive national message is far beyond measure. Most professional political observers do not have a frame of reference from which to value the importance and visibility of this campaign messaging.
Right now those who wish to “fundamentally change” our nation are waging a full frontal assault against our constitutional republic. The bombardment seems overwhelming.
Leftist city and state leaders have abandoned rule of law in favor of supporting the mob effort to destroy our sense of national unity. Political activists, left-wing ideologues under the guise of democrats, and a host of media allies are conducting an information war on behalf of their objective. Big tech social media companies are attempting to remove the voices of those who are fighting back.
There is a great deal of purposefully driven anxiety and fear amid our nation as this multi-faceted internal war takes place. However, there is a primary element to this effort that each person can shield themselves from, and act to counter. Do not let your sense of self succumb to this assault. Do not let them win the battle for your peace of mind.
It might, heck, -check that- it does seem overwhelming at times. But that is the nature of this collectivist strategy. That is the purpose of this bombardment. We must hold strong and push back against their lies and manipulations. If you look closely at their attack, it is weak and much of it is psychological bait. Do not fall into the trap of despair.
When I share the message “live your best life”, it is not without purpose. Every moment that we allow the onslaught to deter us from living our dreams, is a moment those who oppose our nation view as us taking a knee. Do not allow this effort to succeed.
You might ask yourself how can I, one person, a flea looking into a furnace, retain an optimistic disposition while all around me seems chaotic and mad.
That’s the point; it ‘seems’ chaotic and mad because it has been created to appear that way. There are more of us than them; they just control the systems that allow us to connect, share messages and recognize the scale of our assembly.
Every second that you live your life with thankfulness for the abundance within it; every moment that we CHOOSE to engage with fellowship; every day that we accept guidance from God – however you define him to be; and every moment we cherish this time to be a beacon of optimism; is a moment that we withstand that barrage and hold the flag in place. It is a genuinely patriotic position not to succumb to the attack.
If you allow yourself to be drawn into crisis and despair, you allow them to win. If your center of normal is based around this overwhelming onslaught, you will eventually concede liberty in favor of peace. Once we stop living in liberty, we no longer have peace.
It took me a while to fully understand just how damaging empty streets, soulless eyes, the lack of smiles, shuttered businesses and the absence of joy would become. But as I travel around trying to deliver a very specific message to a very specific audience, I now recognize just how much damage is being done; not just to our nation as a whole, but also to every individual within it – personally.
We must shake this mindset. We must withstand this onslaught and rally to the origin of our true national spirit. We must rally to a standard of Americanism and accept this is not that. In essence, we must individually take a stand. Purposefully, deliberately and with forethought, we must engage those around us to get rid of this sense of foreboding.
This approach is how we win the larger battle.
All around us, in every tribe and region, there are people who need you to show them the strength that you have. Strength of spirit. Strength of fellowship that you will not relent from expressing. No matter what noise is shouting from the loudspeakers we must withstand it; we must make eye contact and remain joyful. We cannot allow despair to be the status quo.
Trust me, this ain’t easy…. through my own research, I have torn open the dungeon doors and stared into the dark space; and yes, the scale of corruption amid our national body politic sticks to you; it manifests as cynicism.
However, our president’s MAGA message is optimistic; and we must fight against any tendency to allow the leftist hatred and scheme against our American value system to impact delivery of that message, our message.
If you listened to the responses from democrat voters watching the RNC convention, you would have noted the most consistent point mentioned was their disconnect from the party that has allowed hate and division to dictate policy. It is only getting worse.
Democrats and independents are flocking to the MAGA movement in larger numbers than ever before. Our political opposition is seeing the result in terms of voters turning away from them and they are apoplectic.
Which is the point of writing this. Our nation needs more people like you, right now. Don’t wait… engage life, get optimistic however you need to do it. Then let that part of you shine right now… This is how we will win this 2020 campaign. Hold up that flag; give the starter smile… rally to the standard you create and spread fellowship again.
God knows our nation needs it; and each of us can choose to deliver that message.
Great beginning of the day.
Sundance.
I’m a jock who can’t run anymore. A baseball player, who can’t throw anymore.
But my passion for sports is as strong as it was, when I was 8. NFL without fans, plus the teams aren’t ready to play. They broke a record, in season ending knee injuries, this weekend.
OK, I don’t like the politics, or the product right now.
I’m an American, I want my country back and I want my sports back.
The bio-weapon has been very effective, with the help of the Marxists who launched it. We have been attacked, every one of us, in ways we aren’t used to. We are already adapting to the attack, not giving in to it, but healing from it.
The American citizen, who wants our country governed, the way it was founded, are still in the majority. We are on the high road, and that is where we will prevail.
I like our chances.
dbobway, you said it perfect.
Sundance, you too made my morning but better yet, today for the first time since October of 2016, I can “feel” you. I can “feel” the underlying optimism I searched for and didn’t find in 2018. But I sure can “feel” it now. Thank you.
I second your comment dbobway. The massive crowds in Ohio yesterday and the previous ones in North Carolina, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nevada are acts of civil disobedience.
When you juxtapose the empty stadium on Monday Night Football against the sea of humanity extending into the Ohio night, it is clear the NFL and their abeyance to the Covid Coup is not selling with us Liberty lovers.
They tried to kill the rallies and level the playing field for sleepy Joe. It failed.
” Do not let your sense of self succumb to this assault. Do not let them win the battle for your peace of mind.”
Yes Sundance. And woven into the contagious excitement of the Ohio Rally – your Live your best life essay.
This essay must be repeated until we have it ingrained in us to the point we can repeat it to friends and family.
So grateful for you and your insights!
So grateful for our President and First Lady.
I absolutely love him!!
What goes around comes around. Either we are a nation founded upon God and His principles, or, we are just like every other failed nation that falls apart from adversity as evil enters into leadership.
Maybe, just maybe, the majority of Americans will learn to value their personal liberty again. Value it enough to maybe, just maybe, fight for it and not give in to the evil doers because they offer what appears to be an easy way out. Maybe, just maybe, we can hold our leaders and government accountable to us and not the reverse as it has been of late.
Donald Trump has been fun since the day he came down the elevator…
Told my family right then he was a gamechanger
I just had no idea what an amazing experience watching him operate would become
I did know he was a roller coater ride and a happy warrior
It really bothered family members when I repeatedly had to remind them The Donald was never called a racist until he became the Republican candidate…reference pic with Rosa and The Champ
Oh…and also…that bum Obama was the one had kids locked in cages circa 2014.
Useful reminders sometimes and ironclad facts
Being ostracized by some I rarely have to pull it out any more
Guess I should have just shut up and got woke
Man oh man thinking for one’s self can be so difficult…lol
Luckily my beloved kept me from going wobbly back in the billy bush ambush tapes days…
“Women hear worse all the time.”
Love that woman.
Our President Trump- the happiest warrior.
Exactly about the Billy Bush tape. If you listen to the whole tape, knowing it was believed private by Trump, you could hear Bush sort of egging Trump on. Yet nothing Trump said wasn’t true and while not ‘nice’ it wasn’t horrible.
I was in my twenties in the 1970s. I heard worse than that in bathrooms among other women at bars in concerts. It was about men they were with, or were interested in.
Meanwhile, PA, MI, and WI judges have set the stage for Biden to steal the election.
Optimism is good, just don’t whistle past the graveyard.
On November 3rd Trump will win re-election. But on November 4th, the Dems will steal it away–or at least move Hell and earth trying.
So, I guess my comment would be this; if the left is willing to steal an election right before our very eyes to obtain power and control, what are they willing to do once they achieve it?
Not to throw shade on the excellent and uplifting message by Sundance, but we have to be realists. I’m afraid stopping the left won’t be a matter decided by our courts.
” I’m afraid stopping the left won’t be a matter decided by our courts.”
On the other hand, I am really hoping to read a majority opinion by Clarence Thomas telling Biden to pound sand.
yes! the real reason for expedience. a prolonged circus after the election will rip the country apart with a deadlocked SCOTUS. I think that is really the over riding issue here.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d see a crowd spontaneously chant “we love you” to a politician giving a stump speech. Of course, President Trump has earned the adoration ??????
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” Prov. 17:22
I’m choosing to take that medicine! I don’t need no stinkin’ dry bones!!
And rock on, Mr. President! We are cherishing every.single.rally.
?????????????
This is one of Sundance’s most powerful essays and it bears repeating even several times a day, at least for this American who has a tendency to “go negative” at the drop of a hat.
Living in Killer Cuomo’s NY during the Scamdemic has been a real test of my ability to rise above the joyless nightmare that’s been created not just here but in the other Blue/Commie states where the Satanic governors rule.
For months before the rallies began I had been hoping and praying that they would not allow the Chinese Flu to get in the way and of course I now say, how could I ever have doubted that our President Trump would let ANYTHING get in his way when it comes to fighting for AMERICA.
Not only is he the greatest President in American history, but our President Trump is also the greatest politician and ENTERTAINER that has ever been elected to that office, and that is no small thing.
The Dem Media has been attacking our President 24/7/365 since he announced his candidacy and guess what? IT BACKFIRED! Think of it, for the last 4+ years we have been watching the greatest show on earth: THE TRUMP SHOW. The Ringmaster himself, the 3D chess genius has turned the tables on the EneMedia and now has become the King of All Media..
Even those who hate our President, tune in throughout the day to get their dose of Trump endorphins or whatever the brain chemistry is that makes our President so exciting. Can you even imagine how dull, boring and joyless it would have been if the Hag had won? Same for Sleepy Joe. The sleeping pill industry would go out of business.
The stupid, mean spirited devils of the left made a YUGE mistake when they started with their relentless and never ending attacks. They never understood or else forgot the oldest saying in advertising- there’s no such thing as bad publicity. And that is exactly what they have given our President- a 24/7 running infomercial that money just can’t buy.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Love him!
And that was just his 2nd stop of the evening. 🙂
I hope he got to go home and dance with First Lady Melania.
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1308239451462737920
I could listen to this music and watch this President dance all day. Everything he does exudes confidence. A fearless warrior we all need to emulate. Thank God for this man and may he bless us with four more years.
I think much of his confidence come from his faith in God.
I think much of his confidence come from his faith in God.
I think much of his confidence come from his faith in God.
Disco music is the best happy music and The Village People had some good ones. I probably would have died of second-hand lung cancer had Discos not eventually faded away.
Thanks for the cheer-up, Sundance & Treepers!!
Oh, Oh…Sen. Johnson’s report on Biden’s conflicts & corruption is coming out any day now, says Sen Johnson. For sure the Democrats are going to impeach Pres. Trump now.
What a cute and endearing dance! Reminds me of Yankee stadium in better days.. before they dissed God Bless America.
Music is joyful, a great way to wrap up a MAGA rally!
I try to keep the joy. Inner peace draws others in like a magnet. They all want the secret. My secret is to ignore the ENEmedia, social media, and anything with “media” or Hollyweird in it. I am not cut out to be a follower.
Best to live in the moment right now, PRAY and count our many blessings. Chief among those blessings? Our God-given freedoms, as codified in our Constitutional Republic.
This year knocked me back a bit, but now I am even *more* determined to dig down deep and get back to my happy place again.
It’s not that difficult when you don’t watch television or subscribe to social media. However, for many people, that seems to be a bridge too far. They hunger for the “connection,” and so they keep hoping for ENEMedia, Hollyweird entertainment and sports teams to circle back to God and our beautiful country.
Patriots, that ship has sailed.. so please.. make them irrelevant. Turn away from evil. It will do your heart good. There is *joy* to be found in the everyday connections we make in *real* time, in *real* life.
“There are more of us than them.” I am reminded of Sundance’s excellent post about the Polish revolution which was the first brick pulled out of the wall that was the Soviet Union. When ordinary people who showed up and realized there was more of “us.” They managed to do it without the internet and with phones that were monitored. So while our posts are deleted, while our pages are hidden, and while we are often vilified by those who are terrified of free thinking people, there are many many more of us than them. And unlike the truly brave Poles, we have a lot of guns.
How can one not smile at that exit?
For those not familiar, during the 7th inning stretch at every NY Yankee home game the
cleaning crew would go out to rake the infield to the tune of YMCA. They would stop, drop the rakes and bags at the right moment to do the arm signals with the music and when moment over just go back and finish their job like normal ? The entire stadium of fans and workers would also be on their feet following the tune.
Being once a long time New Yorker, President Trump must have seen and been part of that moment a million times.
Hubby and I were at a Yankee game last Sept. and witnessed this!! It was so fun!!! And you are right—-I hadn’t even thought of it—-I bet this is where PDJT got his inspiration to use the song!
Great essay, Sundance! I’m renewing my determination to embrace joy, by honoring and valuing what is “Good, true, and beautiful” each day, remembering God’s grace, and being thankful.
My version of joy: last Friday was the first day our HOA allowed political signs. Saturday morning, I went for a walk, saw Biden signs, and I just burst out laughing, shaking my head. How can people be so stupid? I’d be embarrassed to put those out. One person had a Biden-Harris flag banner, and LOL, one side of it was so faded that it looked like someone put bleach on it. That was probably Joe’s side of the ticket. Anyway, I finished my walk and felt so much joy because I am a Trump supporter and I love my President. Am I a bad person for laughing at my neighbors? ?
Boomer, I agree. Visited New England last week and saw a neighborhood Trump rally. Several older vets and lots of people joining in. Cars were blowing horns and showing support as they drove by. It was a party scene with happiness and big smiles and waves. It made my day and showed me the sharp contrast from anything liberal….anger, rage, delusion, vandalism, looting, violence, arson, hatred.
Wait for it…..this was in Massachusetts. Gotta love Trump.
BoomerCat (cool name) There’s a house on one of my walking routes that has an “Impeach Trump” sign out there on their front yard.
I give them the finger as I walk by; if feeling frisky, I give them both finger.
Gots to get your jollies where you find them.
My excitement reached a fever pitch at the best time ever last night. I live in SE Michigan but had to travel to the Toledo area for the funeral of my niece’s 2 year old boy who lost his battle with cancer. This last week has been such a downer and I’ve been almost disconnected from the news. Out of the middle of nowhere I found myself in the middle of that rally last night, as that was how GPS directed us to get to the funeral home. Realizing what was happening in front of me, I quickly googled Trump rally Swanton Ohio and SURE E N O U G H! it was true. That street was PACKED, excitement and happiness everywhere. We heard him on the loudspeaker, heard the crowd, saw him on the jumbotron as we passed by. My kids were laughing at me because I was so excited. God works in mysterious ways and I was thankful he brought that happiness to me when I needed it most. MAGAA!
‘Glad you felt a little joy yesterday! Godspeed my friend.
Thanks Amy 😉
You know, he really grabs your heart. He could have had the greatest retirement in the history of all retirements. Yet he chose to serve, to really become what we expect of our leaders. Common sense, problem solver, eternal optimism, and most of all, an undying love for us and our great country. God bless you President Trump!! We all bless you Sir !!
He makes such an effort to connect personally. How many other politicians connect with individuals in the crowd? I went to one of his first rallies when he started. The key take away I noticed was that he talked from his heart more than a prepared speech and he talked to you not at you. I knew then that he had this in the bag. He put his own money behind him and remained accountable to no one but the American citizens.
POTUS’s campaign needs to do an ad that riffs on biden’s “for real” pledge of allegiance. Who says a nominee for POTUS should know how to say the Pledge of Allegiance? In fact, that’s a plus for most Democrat voters as we saw from their problems with “under God” during their convention. Obamabiden’s common core school agenda has proven to lower students’ test scores and thus further their agenda based on their bigotry of low expectations. If it weren’t for low standards of good judgment, patriotism, citizenship, competence, civility and decency, the dems would have no standards at all.

My daughter and her husband were at the rally last night. She was thrilled to have a good view of Air Force One landing and was able to see the President walking to the podium. They were seated a little behind and to one side. She showed me some videos she took of the President turning around an waving to the people behind. I joked with her about how exciting it must have been and how it reminded me of the times she and I got good spots at Bruce Springsteen concerts. (Yes, she actually went to concerts with her mom. LOL)
She said she felt more energy and excitement from that crowd than from any of the concerts of any rock star she had ever seen. Guess President Trump IS a rockstar.
this post brought to mind the video of a counterprotest of Trump supporters singing YMCA but rewriting the lyrics to MAGA. If anyone can find and post that it would be great. my Tech skills are limited!
Here you go. https://youtu.be/Hpe0dq6iWgI
I think that “200 million Americans are dying” is a very positive message.
It gives hope to 1/3 of our population . . . and you don’t need much more than that to be elected.
See my comment on the previous page of this topic about how the lack of Hope, inherited from the Soviet Union’s 8 + decades and now fertilized by Putin’s dictatorship, is literally killing off present-day Russia.
Call me stupid but I think this election will be 1968 redux and Trump will win everywhere except MA.
BUT take no chances we all must vote. And watch the voting locations.
Two years ago when President Trump held a rally in Duluth, Minnesota I was asked to find three people to be drivers in his motorcade. One of the people I asked was my husband, who was thrilled at the opportunity.
The President’s day was very busy and he was late leaving Washington, D.C. Something big happened that morning, but two years later I can’t remember what it was.
When President Trump got to Minnesota he first attended a business meeting, then he headed over to the rally. That day I helped direct cars at the first event, then walked to the rally and had a blast listening to and watching President Trump give a rip-roaring wonderful speech there.
When the President left the rally I knew my husband, sitting outside in the vehicle he drove for the motorcade, would be very busy having a different kind of fun.
All the cars pulled into the airport, onto the tarmac and right next to Air Force One. All the tag-alongs got out of the cars and walked up a set of stairs on the back of the plane, while the President thanked people then walked up a set of stairs at the front of the plane meant only for him and special guests.
That night my husband came home in a very somber mood. He had an amazing day, being a driver in the President’s motorcade, and has memories he will never forget associated with every part of the event.
He had seen the President on stage at the rally — all pumped up and full of energy — and loved the electricity President Trump seemed to radiate to the crowd.
But sitting on the tarmac that evening he saw a very tired man walk up the stairs; a man who had spent every moment of that day fighting for us, giving to us, and as we all headed home he would continue his work — for us — with all the reporters who had scurried up the back stairs.
This is a man who loves the United States of America, her laws, her Constitution, her history and I believe with all my heart ~ her people.
Using YMCA was another stroke of genius from the Trump campaign team. It’s such a feel-good party song that it elevates people’s moods and it’s just fun to join in. But if you read the lyrics, there is a lot of encouraging and community building MAGA messaging in it. It even has a part which could be seen as autobiographical of President Trump. Those old enough to have lived through it all remember how at one point he was down on his luck and 1 billion dollars in debt. But he got through it and became successful again. It’s also referencing YMCA = Young Men’s Christian Association so it’s kind of pointing you towards finding a community for yourself in the Christian faith. And they play mean basketball at the YMCA. Well, at least they do in Finland. We’ve had at least 3 YMCA founded clubs winning the Finnish Championship in basketball multiple times. If I think of basketball clubs in Finland with long traditions and reputation as good clubs, I think first of my hometown club and then Turku YMCA and Helsinki YMCA.
Young man there’s no need to feel down
I said young man pick yourself off the ground
I said young man ’cause your in a new town
There’s no need to be unhappy
Young man there’s a place you can go
I said young man when you’re short on your dough
You can stay there and I’m sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.
It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
Young man, Are you listening to me
I said, young man, what do you want to be
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams
but you’ve got to know this one thing.
No man, does it all by himself
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf
And just go there, to the Y.M.C.A.
I’m sure they can help you today
It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything for young men to enjoy.

You can get yourself clean
You can have a good meal
You can do whatever you feel.
Young Man, I was once in your shoes
I said, I was down and out with the blues
I felt, no man cared if I were alive
I felt the whole world was so jive
That’s when someone came up to me
and said young man take a walk up the street
There’s a place there called the Y.M.C.A.
They can start you back on your way.
It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything For young men to enjoy.
You can hang out with all the boys.

I agree that it’s a really cool (if goofy) song, and some of your interpretations are okay. But you realize, I assume, that at least in the U.S. the song was clearly a “gay anthem”, right? I mean it was well-known in the 70s and 80s (don’t know about before) that in a lot of towns the Y was a hangout for gays. Not universally, no… there most definitely were a lot of other guys who went there just to play basketball and such. But it also had a “reputation”, which is a big reason why the song by the Village People was such a big hit. The song actually HELPED relations between gays and straights I think, precisely because it was such a “fun” song. And it didn’t hurt that the Village People guys were… well… different. 🙂
yeah, I know it’s a gay anthem. Didn’t really know about the YMCA clubs themselves having such a reputation of being gay hangouts, though. I always thought the Village People sang about YMCA because they sang about places where you’d see a lot of good-looking young men. Especially when they could work some double entendre into the lyrics like “you can play with the boys” or “we want you…as the new recruit”. They sang about the Navy too and in those days the Navy didn’t have even the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy they adopted later. The military had a straight-up “no gays” policy back then. I can imagine gay guys fantasizing about a Y full of all-American wholesome men or guys in a Navy uniform, because I wouldn’t mind checking out the guys like that myself either. Although I used to fantasize more about soccer locker rooms than basketball teams. In the 1990’s before everyone started getting tattoos, soccer players were the sexiest athletes. They had muscles but but they weren’t overly buffed like e.g. sprinters. But I guess it makes sense that the Y would have a reputation. If I were young and single, I’d like to hang out where the cute guys are too, hoping I’d get lucky and find a nice cute guy to date. Where would a gay guy be able to check out good-looking guys without competition from us girls? In a men only space like YMCA.
Choosing this song as a walkout song does show that President Trump has a sense of humor, though, and that he doesn’t take himself too seriously. No way the pandering leftists would dare to use this song just because it’s such a gay anthem. President Trump on the other hand, he doesn’t mind the gay thing. He’s secure enough in his own masculinity, so he can take the jokes his opposition is bound to make about him using a gay song. The song is fun and works on those levels I mentioned. And it works to counter the “Trump is a homophobe” accusations from the left too. Which is another bonus.
I just LOVE your comment, all parts of it, especially your personal views of where the “cute guys” might hang out. 😀 (By the way, I was big into baseball back then, so I like to think I looked more like a soccer player than football or body-builder. 🙂 ) By yeah, your comment is great! 😀
