I never tire of seeing and liking this great pic. Each time I look at it, I notice something new.
Today I see one of history’s most honest and sincere ‘peaceful protesters’ on his way, with the protection of federal marshals, and in the name of the American people, to ‘protest’ against the senseless burning of a historic place of worship at the hands of Marxist terrorists, the very ones who attempted to intimidate him from expressing his ‘ peaceful protest,’ while also trying illegally to block his path.
The President then continued on to the burned-out church, in front of which he held up The Bible, as a sign of the very religious freedoms afforded to Americans in the US Constitution and which wanton terrorists wished to debase
As this picture depicts, one must ask: How many US presidents would have been as brave, courageous and determined, as this president, in his desire to vindicate, by means of a peaceful and symbolic protest, all law-abiding, freedom-loving, and God-fearing Americans, even in the face of a dangerous, wild, and hateful anti-American mob??

I love my President for – once again – being the consummate leader – graciousnesss and heart being part of what I love – besides being the hard worker that he is –

The thing that concerned me so much about Justice Ginsburg is her statement about not wanting to have her appointment made by President Trump – that showed to me that her understanding of the Constitution was deeply flawed if she thought that’s how this all works! Was that a serious statement or more of a “throwaway line” as to what her “wish” would be? The alarming thing is, the people in our country, including people in office, thinking that is a viable directive, handed down from on high and should be carried out, to carry out HER wish!

Good, dear God, please help our nation to not fall so much more into error – I am asking for a miracle of clarity, of wisdom and reluctance to be a part anymore of going further astray from what we were given by those who started this great country.

Miracles of conscience, sobriety and breaking free from compromised thinking, illogical thinking.

I gracefully agree. It’s why I post above “The One President of the United States of America”. My clarity is the President Trump is the president, not anyone else. And he will have to decide what is best for our country.

It is so sad to see and hear those that would make unproductive requests/demands during their last days on earth. Sounds like she was not an happy person. This is one of the characteristics of the Opposition. Miserable, unhappy, angry.

I agree, much prayers are still needed for our beloved country, for us all to stand at the Gap, watching and praying. and be ready to go into action as needed.

***Today’s Fisher Industries / Border Wall posts***
    — Fisher’s Federal and private projects, their methods of construction, and overall wall progress in general… including border wall content from other wall contractors.
    — (Previous posts: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/09/18/september-18th-2020-presidential-politics-trump-administration-day-1338/comment-page-1/#comment-8788006)

[The praises (much of which are older news) have been provided for those who wish to give thanks for them before praying for the wall prayer requests. I may add to, trim back, or simplify from time to time as projects/events progress or come to completion. If there is any new wall news I’ll list them in the update below. Otherwise, feel free to page down or scroll past.]

    Friday night update – 9/18/20

    — Chief Rodney Scott’s Constitution Day tweet w/ video: An Agent’s sacred promise

    — Deputy Chief Raul Oritz tweet with video where drone operator assists agents in the apprehension of illegals along the border.
    * “USBP + Technology = Safe & Secure Border”

    – – – – –
    ***Praises***

✅ (9/14/20)… Border Wall System Update: 321 miles completed.
(Update tends to lag by a few days.)
    This years goal: 450 miles.
Total goal for full operational control of southern border: ~1,100 miles… some of which will be secondary barrier.

    – – – – –
✅ 🧱 (Project 1: May/June 2019)… Fisher Industries was able to build a half mile wall up the side of a mountain in 11 days (with zero safety incidents), cutting off 19 major drug cartel trails, and closing off one of the worst areas along the border… (Sunland Park, NM)
✅ 👍 (11/20/19)… DHS Secretary Chad Wolf & CBP Chief gave a huge endorsement to the Fisher industries wall project while visiting Project 1. CBP Chief called it a “Game Changer”. It’s the only time CBP or DHS have ever endorsed a wall builder.

✅ 🧱 (12/2/19)… Fisher Sand & Gravel was awarded a $400M border wall contract to build 31 miles of wall in the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge in Yuma County, Arizona.

✅ 🔍 (Reported on 12/18/19)… Senator Kevin Cramer was able to complete his in-depth review of the USACE’s procurement process and send a letter with his findings and recommendations to President Trump on 12/6/19.

✅ 🧱 (Feb 17)… Fisher Industries was able to build 3.5 miles of wall along the Rio Grande River in Mission, Texas. Project 2’s “water wall” design is the first border wall that’s ever been built inside the floodplain.

✅ 🧱 (5/6/20)… Fisher Sand & Gravel was awarded a $1.28B border wall contract to build 42 miles of wall in southern Arizona, most of which will run from Nogales to the eastern boundary of the Tohono O’odham Nation. It’s the largest border wall contract that’s ever been awarded.
(Complex terrain, which includes rugged mountains and water crossings)

✅ (7/6/20)… Fisher has partnered with Holcombe Mixers “to fast-track border wall construction.”

✅ 🧱 (8/3/20)… Fisher Industries was awarded a $289.5M contract to build ~17 miles of contiguous new border wall in Laredo Sector located in Webb County, Texas.
✅ … With the above contract, Fisher probably has at least 112 miles of border wall contract(s), 90 miles of which have been reported on.

🙏 Prayer for the work crews. 🙏
Heavenly Father, we pray in Jesus’ name (& according to Your will):
    — for safety, health, and good weather for the work crews as they continue working on Fisher’s Federal contracts, and any other projects they may be working on; that Fisher would be able to continue uninterrupted until completion.
    — for the safety of other wall contractors and those involved in building the wall.

    — that work would go smoothly with continual, innovative improvements in method/process/efficiency and quality of construction; and with transitioning as they scale up capacity(manpower, equipment, etc.) to be able to build 1+(to 2?) miles of wall per day.
(Tommy Fisher has previously stated that, given a large enough project(s), they would be able to build 1 mile of wall per day within 3 months. As early photos taken on March 24 reveal, this process has been going on for at least 5 months. My guess is that Fisher has already scaled up to 1 mile per day, assuming they had enough projects to justify the increase in equipment/manpower required for that output. I’m still waiting to for news to confirm this though.)

    — that the DoD IG’s office audit of the $400 million border wall contract which the USACE awarded Fisher Sand & Gravel would show everything is fair and above board; that the swamp in DoD and USACE wouldn’t be able to corrupt the process; & that Fisher would be authorized to proceed with the project as planned. (Backstory/timeline)
✅ (4/15/19)… Fisher Industries has been awarded a 7.6M contract modification to build 800 linear feet of 30-foot bollard barrier while the original 400M contract is still under review by the DoD IG’s office.

    — for Fisher Industries regarding the ongoing lawsuits; that both sides would be able to resolve any potential issues(erosion, construction, maintenance, differences of opinion on potential deflection of water off the wall during flood events, etc.) and the lawsuits would be dismissed.
    (September 10)… Hearing summary…
At the request of both sides, the lawsuit could go to trial September 2021.
“Judge Crane said he would hold one final status conference on the case prior to Christmas to determine whether the case will be scheduled for trial.”

    — for Fisher crews working at the private border wall along the Rio Grande as they continue to fill/fix any issues related to erosion, reseeding of grass, and applying various erosion control solutions on the site.

    — that Fisher would be able to come up with affordable, scalable, innovative solutions to greatly shorten the landscape establishment period, provide some initial protection against erosion during the establishment period, and strengthen the long-term stability(resistance to erosion) for all types of riverbank soil & grades/slopes which may be encountered so that the landscape can handle the stronger hurricanes/floods which may arrive in the future

    — that Project 2 will eventually benefit the natural habitat; perhaps with the formation of its own riparian zone to prevent erosion at the river’s edge and benefit local flora/fauna… but without preventing operational access & visibility in CBP’s enforcement zone.

    — for 100% safety/health/guidance/direction/salvation(through faith in Christ Jesus) for the work crews, security personnel, legal teams, CBP, DHS, Army/USACE, National Guard and all involved in Fisher Industries’ private or federal projects (& other wall contractors)

    — that there would be no outside interference (cartels, IBWC, courts/judges, protesters, swamp, etc.) and that if outside interference takes place that it would only work toward Fisher Industries/USA’s benefit

🌟 “The more that a broken system tells you that you’re wrong, the more certain you must be that you must keep pushing ahead. Because it’s the outsiders who change the world and will make a real and lasting difference. Nothing worth doing ever came easy. Treat the word impossible as nothing more than motivation.” ~ President Donald J. Trump 🌟

I do think she had an amazing but I don’t mourn her:

““It is essential to woman’s equality with man that she be the decision maker, that her choice be controlling,” Ginsburg told Senators during her four days of questioning by the Senate Judiciary Committee. “If you impose restraints that impede her choice, you are disadvantaging her because of her sex.”

That was a false choice. The woman does have a choice – her choice is to take birth control. If she doesn’t then there are 3 humans involved and it’s no longer only “MY body, MY choice”. Ginsburg’s choice was a choice for hubris, stupidity, selfishness, irresponsibility and, frankly, murder.

    • BUT if the woman chooses to have a baby, she makes the choice for the man to pay child support.

When she makes one choice, is her body alone, nobody to interfere but her.

When she makes the other choice, the man has no choice but to acquiesce.

RIP, Ruth. Words which should have been uttered twelve years ago, at least.

You’ve been burned with child support?

The woman doesn’t do it by herself. when a man and a woman CHOOSE to do the baby making activity without birth control and it’s successful then there are 2 other choices, both involving a 3rd party and they both have consequences.

Seems to me what’s going on are the 2 who made the choice are making the innocent 3rd party suffer the consequences. That’s what’s considered a “right” these days.

A man most certainly does have a choice. He can choose to love.

If a man chooses to have unprotected sex and the consequence is the conception of his child, he SHOULD pay child support. Why should the child be killed via the mother’s decision or unsupported by the father? The child is the one paying either with his life or via the lack of quality of life.

LIFE comes first. A man should fight for the life of his child; his DNA is part of his child; his parents are the child’s grandparents; his brothers and sisters are his uncles and aunts. The child is FAMILY!

Mindsets need to be changed. A man taking care of his child should be praised. His love for his son or daughter should outweigh all other considerations. A child’s life is precious and needs to be valued. Yes, life can be hard. Finances can be difficult. But choosing to love is freeing to the human spirit. The satisfaction it brings is beyond measure.

A man should fight for whatever is best for the child. Much of life is a choice. Everyone should be encouraged and supported to choose to do what is right.

A friend of mine was stationed in Germany and his girlfriend there became pregnant. She chose to have the child but decided to put their baby girl up for adoption. My friend pleaded with her to give him custody and after much discussion, she did so. He found someone to take care of his baby until he could return to the U.S. and bring her home to his family. After he left the military, his daughter lived with him and he took care of her through college and into her young womanhood. Not every day was easy, but every day was worth it.

If it’s true that Barrett has pledged to recuse from any case involving morality where the Roman Catholic Church has taken an official “position”, she cannot possibly be a SCOTUS Justice. She is totally yielding the the Left.

A great many of our laws are (or were) based on Christian morality so she would be abdicating her responsibility from some of the most critical cases.

But! IF (big IF) this is true, then of course Barrett should not be nominated.

I’m curious if the Senate in the early days of the Republic met over the course of a night or two and quickly vetted the presidents’ SCOTUS nomination.

Or did they need 67 months like we do now? There weren’t political factions during Washington’s tenure so did he just hand the Senate a slip of paper with some names on it?

If the first sessions of Congress dithered and bickered and committed endless monologues to the Congressional record like their descendants do today, the Constitution probably wouldn’t have been voted on until 2087.

Before 1925 the SC nominees generally were not even interviewed by Senators. Only since 1955 has it been a regular practice to hold public hearings for every SC nominee.

Since the debacles with Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas it has been evident that many Democrat Senators cannot seem to manage a basic level of decency, honesty, and respect in such an important process. Obviously the Kavanaugh mess was the latest and worst of the Demscum malfeasance. After that the Rs are fully justified in taking every legal, constitutional step to ram this next nominee down the Democrat throats.

Doesn’t Mitch run the Senate? As long as he’s following the Constitution I don’t see why a replacement isn’t on the bench next week. Then they can all go back home to a ticker tape parade and breeze through re-election

If Obama wants the seat, it’s a truly smart play for Biden to announce that.

Even if he doesn’t want it, it’s a smart play for Biden to mention Obama’s name for consideration.

If you want to play Trigger the Left then appoint a white man to the job and watch their heads explode. But I am sick of reading these racist suggestions here on CTH.

Can you imagine if POTUS posted a job opening for SCOTUS asking only for “women” or “women of color” to apply? Sick.

If the Republican Senate Majority refuses to advance a nominee President Trump puts forward to replace RBG, this refusal creates problems on several levels.

The Senate is required to give its advice and consent to a nominee’s fitness by way of a vote, not simply refuse to give consent for a vote for any or every nominee.

Secondly, nominating a replacement is not about fairness. The Senate, if it pursues a path of intransigent refusal to meet it’s obligations, is attempting to prevent the POTUS from exercising his obligations.

Reality check: a SCOTUS vacancy exists. The POTUS gets to make a nomination and the Senate gets a vote to express their advice and consent.

There isn’t an exception because DJT is President. There isn’t an exception for ‘but that’s RGB seat’. There isn’t an exception for ‘wait until the presidential elections are over.

The term and powers of office begin when inaugurated and end upon inauguration of the next Presidential term. To suggest otherwise is to remove the ability of a sitting President for the next four months.

Look Trump didn’t decide that Ginsburg had to stay on the court until she died. Ginsburg declined multiple entreaties to gracefully retire, she was even rumored to step down when Obama was President. She decided not to. Ginsburg probably should have stepped down earlier this year when it was becoming obvious her health was declining. She declined to do so.

Instead, she gambled thinking she could hold on until after the election with hope a Biden win would allow her replacement to be a Democrat.

She and those who encouraged her to hang on lost her politically motivated gamble. Now, it’s time for liberals to pay off the bet.
