Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Ohio Judge Deems State’s Coronavirus Lockdown Illegal

Judge “Lucci, however, says that Ohio law only permits Acton to “isolate” the sick and “quarantine” those who have been exposed to an illness during the period of incubation for the disease, and that in the case of the Wuhan coronavirus, the incubation period is 14 days.

Therefore, Judge Lucci has concluded that Acton’s powers are to stop after 14 days.

“The director has quarantined the entire people of the state of Ohio, for much more than 14 days,” wrote Lucci. “The director has no statutory authority to close all businesses — which she deems non-essential for a period of two months.”

Are the Pentecostal Signs Being Restored?

    by Pastor Cornelius R. Stam

With convincing “signs and wonders” being wrought all about us in increasing numbers, some are being carried away from the truths so clearly set forth for our day in the epistles of Paul.

Some have concluded from these “supernatural manifestations” that toward the close of this present dispensation we may expect a revival of the divine gifts of tongues, healing, etc.

As to healing, may we first point out that no instructed believer in Pauline truth questions that God can and often does heal the sick and infirm as, for example, in the case of Epaphroditus (Phil. 2:25-27). We believe too that God is constantly working miracles. But we deny that healers and miracle workers, or that signs and miraculous demonstrations, have any part in God’s program for today.

First, the apostle did not say in I Corinthians 13:8 that the gifts of prophecy, tongues and knowledge would be done away until the closing days of the dispensation. He simply declared that these miraculous manifestations were to be done away (i.e., In this new dispensation), and that “faith, hope and love” would “abide” (Ver. 13). Nor is there any indication in the Pauline epistles that the Pentecostal signs are to be restored at the close of this dispensation.

The apostle does declare, however, that after the close of the dispensation of grace, the “man of sin” will appear “with all power and signs and lying wonders” (II Thes. 2:9). In this the apostle confirms what our Lord says in Matthew 24:24 about the same period of time:

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

During the “tribulation period,” then, after the members of the Body of Christ have been “caught up” to be with the Lord, the ministers of Satan, from Antichrist down, will come with “all power and signs and lying wonders,” to deceive, if possible, “the very elect.”

But now let us see how this affects us today.

In the very same passage about Antichrist and his “power, and signs, and lying wonders,” the apostle warns that

“…the mystery of iniquity doth already work…” (II Thes. 2:7).

What does all this tell us about the multiplied miraculous manifestations we are seeing all about us as the days grow darker: tongues, healing, prophecies, ESP, witchcraft, spiritism, exorcism, etc., not to mention false doctrine? Obviously it tells us that these are not of God, but of Satan.

A wondrous manifestation is to some the end of all argument. So-and-so must be of God or he could not work these miracles! But the above passages from the Scriptures tell us differently. Satan has power. He can work wonders, but he does so to deceive men and draw them away from the truth of God’s glorious purpose and grace.

Indeed, the apostle, in I Timothy 4:1, issues a stern warning to this effect:

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,1 giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils [demons].”

This is why the apostle rightly urges all believers:

“Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness [wicked spirits] in high [heavenly] places” (Eph. 6:11,12).

Be not deceived. Satan is not a grotesque creature with horns, hooves, a tail and a pitchfork. He inspired that caricature to draw attention away from himself, for when the apostle warns of “false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apos-tles of Christ” (II Cor. 11:13), he adds:

“And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

“Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness…” (Vers. 14,15).

There you have it! If Satan did appear as men portray him, the multitudes would flee from him. But “an angel of light” with “ministers of righteousness”! This attracts the unwary.

But here is one who is stricken with some deadly disease. He is taken to a healing meeting and, seemingly at least, is completely restored. Can this possibly be of Satan?

Why not? Besides all his other powers, is it not he that inflicts sickness and disease? Think of the case of Job. Did not God permit Satan to bring Job to the point of death, physically (Job 2:4-9)? Think of Paul himself. Was it not “a messenger of Satan” who was sent to “buffet” him until he cried again and again for deliverance (II Cor. 12:7,8)? And is it not clearly stated in Hebrews 2:14 that for the pres-ent Satan has “the power of death”?

If it is Satan, then, who inflicts sickness and disease, why cannot Satan stop inflicting them? Why can he not—why would he not, withdraw the illness he has inflicted if this will cause you to center your interest on the wrong thing, and cause you to walk by sight, rather than by faith?

We specially mention bodily healing because most people are attracted and convinced by this sort of supernatural demonstration. But the physical healings under our Lord’s earthly ministry and at Pentecost were “signs.” Signs of what? They were signs of the Messiahship of Christ. Had He been accepted as King, all those thus healed would have gone into the prophesied kingdom, where sickness and disease would never again overtake them.

This is not so today, for the King and His kingdom have been rejected, and the reign of Christ on earth now awaits a future day. Thus it is that those who are “healed,” all finally die like the rest. Though “healed” again and again, there always comes that last time when nothing avails.

One of the saddest aspects of the modern healing campaign is the long, sad trail of disillusionment and shaken faith it leaves behind. Some are not healed at all, and even those who are “healed” finally come to “that last time” when Hebrews 9:27 is fulfilled, for “it is appointed unto men once to die.”

What a list could be made of all those who once sincerely preached that it was a lack of faith, a sin, not to claim and expect from God a strong, sound body, yet they themselves all died. After the long list of the greatest of all these “healers” could be copied those familiar words from Genesis 5: “and he died…and he died…and he died”!

Pastor J. C. O’Hair rightly said that despite the claims of all the Christian Scientists, the Roman Catholics, the Pentecostalists, and all the other “healing” folk, the death rate still remains one apiece.

How much better, then, to walk by faith and leave ourselves in His loving hands to do as He sees is best for us?

Thus we beg our Christian readers not to be carried away with amazing demonstrations that can only beguile us to take our eyes off Him. Rather let us heed the Spirit’s exhortation through Paul:

“Be careful2 for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6,7).

Obviously, “the faith” he had proclaimed, hence “the latter times” of this “dispensation of the grace of God” (Eph. 3:1-3).
    “care full,” or anxious.

Contact Tracing and other Orwellian Realities

Many headlines can tell a story that no novel can and in one concise phrase.

“House bill 6666 to track everyone with COVID-19.”

House Democrats have put forward legislation that will track anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and require them to quarantine. What stood out was the bill’s number: 6666 and the legislation’s ensuing acronym (TRACE) meaning “Testing, Reaching, And Contacting Everyone Act.”

Shakespearian in scope is the everlasting question, what’s in a name?

As explained in Gen. Chi’s speech, the Chinese Communist Party’s intention is to militarily defeat, occupy, and colonize the United States. This plan has been confirmed by a Russian defector source who worked in China and had information about a joint Sino-Russian plan to invade North America. This plan was drawn up in 1992, after the fall of the Soviet Union. The division of spoils was described thus: “Russia would get Alaska and parts of Canada. China would get the lower 48 states, with other countries invited in for ‘looting rights.’”

    [Excerpt from speech:]
To resolve the issue of America we must be able to transcend conventions and restrictions. In history, when a country defeated another country or occupied another country, it could not kill all the people in the conquered land because back then you could not kill people effectively with sabers or long spears, or even with rifles or machine guns. Therefore, it was impossible to gain a stretch of land without keeping the people on that land. However, if we conquered America in this fashion, we would not be able to make many people migrate there.

Only by using special means to “clean up” America will we be able to lead the Chinese people there. This is the only choice left for us. This is not a matter of whether we are willing to do it or not. What kind of special means is there available for us to “clean up America”?

Today, when I visit my Dad’s grave at FT Logan National Cemetery, as I do every Memorial Day, I will stand in awe at the thousands of headstones of those who have come before us. Dad joined the Army in 1943, at age 16, and turned 17 in boot camp. His first action was June 6, 1944, 82nd Airborne, Airborne Ranger. He fought across Europe, and then was a member of the American and Allied forces occupying Germany.

He made a career of the Army. Later serving in Korea for the duration of hostilities, where he suffered phosphor burns from a mortar shell that exploded near him. He was on the border between East and West Germany in 1956 facing off Soviet tanks, that were ravaging Czechoslovakia, and Hungary. Then, in 1964, rotated to Vietnam, as a senior Sergeant Major, with the 1st Infantry Division (known to some then as the Big Red “Bloody” One). He died at age 50 from complications of alcoholism and those old phosphor wounds. His alcoholism a result of the 25 years of military service to our nation, heavy combat in three wars, and the PTSD he suffered as a result.

My Dad’s story is not unique. There are thousands, upon thousands of stories similar to his. Lives lived, and some sacrificed, by those heroes sharing the hallowed ground of Ft Logan National Cemetery. All of them did what they did to make this nation the greatest ever seen on the planet. They fought and they gave of themselves to secure our future.

My father, Leonard was being processed out of the service in Hawaii, at Pearl Harbor, at Schofield Barracks on December 7th, 1941. He went on the USS New Orleans (And a couple of other ships) at fought at Coral Sea, Midway, Leyte Gulf, Savo islands and was on the New Orleans when she got her bow blown off and had to go to Australia to refit, in reverse at about 2 knots.

      I miss my dad.

My dad was 20yo when he enlisted into the signal corps. Was captured a year later and was a prisoner of the Japanese. Endured the March of Bataan and over 2 years of prison camp. I was fortunate enough to find a picture of my dad with his fellow radio operators while they were in the Philippines right before they were captured. the picture depicted 6 guys, smiling and dirty but they were brothers. Amazing photo.

Obviously my dad made it back home but a part of him was broken. That part of him manifested in abuse that was directed at me and my brother in different ways. However in most ways my dad was instrumental in my education of our beautiful country, he showed us the country’s sights and sounds, he taught us the music that was produced of all types, he showed us the science, he taught us how to look things up and gave us a mindset to be ever curious and to not just accept things as we were told. to explore. He gave us books and The national Geographic oh boy i loved those magazines when they arrived in the mail.

In a way I just want to give a shout out to my dad.
You hurt me dad. You would be arrested today for what you did. Your behavior is really hard to reconcile at times for me, even though I am 64 yo now.
And yet i leave the judgment to God.
Thanks for your service to our country. You did good. And your good was was taken from you. Anyone reading this may not understand…but I still find the best in my dad and honor his sacrifice to keep our country alive.

A war story. My sister-in-law’s long-term partner was a generation older and a WWII veteran. When he was a 20 year old private he found himself in the absolute thickest part of the Battle Of The Bulge. With the American forces in full retreat, along with a more experienced Sargent and another private he found himself lost in thick forest woods for 5 days. In talking about his experiences (he was also at “Parker’s Crossroads”) he told me that, while desperately trying to avoid capture and find their own lines, late one afternoon their jeep entered a clearing in the deep forest. It was almost dark, snowing heavily, but on the other side of the clearing he described seeing the outline of a MK1V German tank. There was a moment of surprise combined with stark terror—something akin to the feeling of stepping on a rattlesnake—as they watched the tank turret slowly turn to point in their direction. Then it fired. . .and missed. The 75mm cannon round passed over their heads and exploded further into the forest. He never really knew just why that German gunner missed such a point-blank shot, nor why he fired their cannon instead of their machine-guns. Who knows, maybe it was intentional?

In case you’re interested in reading some military history, I can recommend two excellent books on the Battle Of The Bulge: Ardennes by Anthony Beevor and Bastonge by Peter Elstrob. Of the two I liked Peter Elstrob’s book the best, largely because, although British, he was an actual participant in the battle

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Catholic Bishops of Minnesota, along with many people of faith, were disappointed
in Governor Walz’s May 13 announcement that he would end the Stay-at-Home order to allow
more commerce but prohibit religious gatherings of more than ten people…

Along with some Lutheran colleagues, we
submitted a plan to the Governor on May 8 that detailed the sanitation measures we would
take and proposed a cap on occupancy limited to 33 percent of building capacity….

Our decision to suspend the public celebration of Mass was painful. We made that
decision not because we were compelled to do so, but because we judged that the
circumstances required it. We believe that those circumstances have changed, as confirmed by the Governor’s decision to end the Stay-at-Home order and allow more commerce…

We are blessed to live in a nation that guarantees the free exercise of religion. This right
can only be abridged for a compelling governmental interest, and only in a way that is narrowly
tailored to be the least restrictive means of achieving the desired end. That is why a large
majority of states now allow in-person religious services, including many states that had
    previously suspended in-person religious services..

So apart from the current tensions in Minnesota between the separate roles of the church and the state – about 500 years ago something similar was happening.

…”Temporary relaxation of RC-Prot. tension was arranged 1532 in the Nürnberg* Religious Peace by the emp., who needed national unity over against advancing Turks.”

(emp.,) Refers to Charles V, (1500–58). Holy Roman emperor; elected 1519, crowned 1530. King (Charles I) of Sp. 1516 to 1566.

My point here is not about the tensions between the Reformers and the Roman Catholic hiererarchy, but that these two entities, for a time, anyways joined forces to defeat a common enemy, the Islamist Turks.

And that alliance of necessity continued sporadically over the next 150 years, culminating in the defeat of the Ottoman Empire, in and around Vienna, Austria in the summer of 1683.
