“…On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, Jim Santilli of Macomb County, Michigan, became seriously ill with severe cardiac and respiratory symptoms. He went to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, where he was admitted and immediately tested for COVID-19. While he waited four days for the test results, his condition deteriorated “by the hour” to the point where he thought he was going to die.

In an interview with radio host Steve Gruber, the 38-year-old Santilli said that he was slowly drowning and, by Saturday, was convinced that he “would not live until midnight.” Then, on Saturday evening, after all other treatment options had been exhausted, an infectious disease physician administered a combination of the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and the antibiotic azithromycin. Within a few hours he experienced a dramatic improvement in his condition and began to believe that he could survive. After four days of medication, he was discharged to go home.

“I am living proof that this worked!” Santilli exclaimed. He added that unquestionably the HCQ and azithromycin had saved his life, and he praised President Trump for having brought public attention to the protocol…”

And, most importantly, Governors have no legal authority to tell a physician what he may or may not prescribe nor do. Nor may he revoke or threaten to revoke the licensure of anyone. He does not have these powers. (Nor, for that matter, does the POTUS.)

A Governor, like the President, is the “Chief Executive Officer” of a government – the chief of its Executive Branch. He can make certain orders to members of that Branch, but these orders do not apply directly to citizens, and they are limited by law as to their potential effect on citizens.

Strictly speaking, they cannot issue orders to citizens to remain in their homes. They can issue curfew orders to particular areas for particular short-term causes but these do not apply to their entire domain.

The law says many things that “a momentarily frightened populace” stopped insisting on, and these vermin wasted no time trying to misappropriate all the powers they could get.

      • Mike Robinson- GREAT post. Too bad there are no courts open so that these Gestapo orders can be challenged.
Why is no one on the President’s Task Force talking about the loss of our most precious FREEDOM and LIBERTIES?
I thought that our President listened to Rush, Levin, Mark Steyn, etc. etc.
We need to have some FREEDOM FIGHTERS at these daily briefings.

Barr’s DOJ should have been in Court every time and on the same day each and every one of these State Tyrants issued their dictatorial edicts “ordering” their “subjects” to shut down, stay at home, etc. DOJ should have been seeking immediate injunctions against these unconstitutional restrictions on our liberties.

Unfortunately, DOJ is preoccupied with chasing down alleged “hoarders,” “price gougers,” and “hate crimes” perpetrators.

Notice the stock market. Walking on all fours with nose to the ground in the public square is kind treatment to both Michigan Gov.Whitmer and the Preening Bureaucrat Fauci.

It tells me Jesus healed ten people of leprosy, a hideous disease, and only one turned back to thank Him and give glory to God. The other nine failed to appreciate the blessing they had been given. Sadly, that is an all too frequent event, even today. Those men were quite literally given their lives back and enabled to go about in society again. You’d think they would appreciate it. Jesus himself seemed to express wonder that only one came back.

Always give the glory to God. Always.

With a few minutes of sleuthing, I found the identity of the author — Andrew Gaiziunas along with his Youtube channel on cryptocurrencies, and an interview. It had 7 views as of this morning. So buyer beware should it pop up in your travels. (Update: He is likely the son of a retired Illinois doctor of the same name.)

Our inability to accept that life is 100% fatal is a large part of this entire “crisis”!! Our advances in medical technology over the past 50 years have somehow led us to believe that no one should die anymore. Since most people are totally separated from the costs of their end-of-life demands, no treatment option seems unreasonable, if it will prolong the physical body for even a few more days.

And when the doctor dares to suggest that maybe, just maybe, it might be time to say your good byes to your 98 year old mother with dementia, kidney failure, and COPD, that you haven’t bothered to visit for the last five years anyway, some people decide to have a tizzy fit and immediately start looking for someone to blame!

    • I’m with you about halfway there, but if China is laughing, they will rue the day. Not only would U.S. economic collapse hit China’s economy twice as hard, it could unleash some currents within American politics and society that would lead to the obliteration of China as a world power, if not literal obliteration.

In our current state of affairs – after decades of globalist dominance prior to PDJT – etc., it’s hard to envision the return of truly vengeful, bellicose American mass public overwhelming all of the powers-that-be. But all bets are off when economic collapse happens. Just look at the first half of the 20th century.

For these and other reasons, 1). It’s not clear to me that China set this off deliberately; and 2). If China ain’t at least a little bit worried right now, all of that Confucian and Sun Tzu wisdom they supposedly have is overrated.

But the only viable way that I can see this ending soon is to get the death rate down. This starves the oxygen from Gates/NWO/Dems/Swamp/Soros or whoever wants to cripple our economy and take away our freedom. Rather than focusing on who exactly is behind it and for what, let’s focus on the solution that is directly in front of us: The Hydroxychloroquine cure.

By pushing this, sharing it, demanding it, we can cut down the number of deaths, save lives, restore our economy and freedom.

So, please focus on helping getting the word out over and over. The Hydroxychloroquine cure saves lives AND our liberty.

NYPost reported: Cuomo will allow state to redistribute ventilators

which he begged for just hours before:

“In the last 3–5 days, a mountain of anecdotal evidence has come out of NYC, Italy, Spain, etc. about COVID-19 and characteristics of patients who get
seriously ill. It’s not only piling up but now leading to a general field-level consensus backed up by a few previously little-known studies that we’ve had it all wrong the whole time. Well, a few had some things eerily correct (cough Trump cough), especially with Hydroxychloroquine with Azithromicin, but we’ll get to that in a minute.
There is no ‘pneumonia’ nor ARDS. At least not the ARDS with established treatment
protocols and procedures we’re familiar with. Ventilators are not only the wrong solution, but high pressure intubation can actually wind up causing more damage than without, not to mention complications from tracheal scarring and ulcers given the duration of intubation often required… They may still have a use in the immediate future for patients too far to bring back with this newfound knowledge, but moving forward a new treatment protocol needs to be established so we stop treating patients for the wrong disease.

The take away that I get from this is that things would definitely be worse right now without the present restrictions. Lives are being saved from the virus. For now anyways.

But the costs may be much worse. One of those costs will be the resulting discrimination against these communities. The warnings about financial losses due to pandemics do not come anywhere near the financial losses we are causing. I hope these ‘know-it-alls’ learn from their mistakes and develop better ways to deal with pandemics.

And the solution isn’t good enough. It won’t be long now before Obama’s 2009 death toll is exceeded by this pandemic. Once that happens, the media will never stop bashing Trump with it.

These cretins have had to resort to defining causes of death by decree as well as as being done willfully in democrat run areas. Spare me the BS of mitigation works.

The virus “ran free” in a 100% open USA for nearly 2+ months, which we know of, and there were NO major spikes indicating a disease or cause of death issue. The measures combating CV-19 are suppressing all other similarly spread viruses so there is NO proof that CV-19 is being suppressed any better than before January 2020.

I was thinking about the possibility Cuomo replaces Biden this morning, and how Trump’s campaign can best combat it. Then it hit me (and hopefully them): all Trump needs to do is make the DNC scheme publicly known. He needs to take several press opportunities outside of the COVID briefings to drill home how Democrats plan to “steal” the election from Joe and Bernie, and put in Cuomo. Even if Trump casually brought it up during a chopper presser as an example of how desperate and corrupt the DNC is, it would do damage and make Cuomo affirm his desire not to run.

I’m not sure any complaints about “stealing” the nomination from Joe will move any voters. The nomination will be Biden’s unless HE withdraws “for the good of the party and the country.” At that point, he would presumably (but not certainly) throw his support to Cuomo.

With Biden out, of his own volition (presumably on Jill’s advice), the delegates will eventually be free (it may take a view ballots) to nominate anyone the majority wants. Bernie may have 35-40% lined up, but he’ll never get over 50%.

If Biden can’t get the votes at the convention it could throw it into a brokered convention where they could bring in Cuomo and push Biden out whether he likes it or not. The Democrats aren’t like Republicans who believe someone has their turn at the nomination and no one else can get it. The Reps even practice that on the congressional level (Remember that it was Paul Ryan’s turn to be Speaker when Boehner left and then Kevin McCarthy was put in as majority leader when Ryan left.). So, I wouldn’t expect for a second that the Dems will treat Biden the way Republicans would treat another Republican. Dems will do anything for their cause, even if it means killing one of their own. The ends justify the means to them.

He does though continually warn that there are side effects with the use of these drugs and we must have scientific studies.

He cautions on the use of the drugs prophylactically

He also states that not everyone will suffer side effects.

I thought the Nevin was knowledgeable on the use of the drugs.

  22. As an article in The Blaze pointed out recently, the problem with experts is that there are too many of them and they often disagree. So how are we non-experts (and our political leaders) supposed to figure out which experts are right? (This problem is not unique to COVID-19 but almost every area in life.)

I am almost always suspicious of the “majority” opinion for various reasons. I am almost always persuaded by a minority opinion. It’s probably why I like CTH!

The link below is an Apr. 3, 2020 interview with an epidemiologist, Knut Wittkowski, PhD, who has been modelling epidemics for 35 years at Rockefeller University. I don’t know but he seems to know what he is talking about and, surprise!, his opinions are essentially the opposite of the “herd”; the Fauci’s and Birx’s of the world.

Dr. Wittkowski says our policy of social distancing has indeed flattened the curve but also widened and prolonged the curve. That will result in more deaths in the vulnerable population (those with weakened/compromised immune systems) and will insure a second wave next fall. This is because by closing schools we did not allow enough or the younger, healthier population (kids and their parents) to become infected and develop herd immunity.

He said we shouldn’t have done anything other than isolate the elderly and compromised while the epidemic passed through. It would have taken about four weeks and then we would have been done with it. There would have been around 25,000 cases per day during that time with 500 hospitalizations per day. 2% of the infected would die, 500 per day, or around 10,000 total.

You can read the entire interview in the link below. Inside the article is a link to a video of the interview. I highly suggest it. Note: there is a recent anonymous article in thefederalist.com that says about the same thing.

British journalist Guy Birchall writes one of what should be many articles considering the World Health Organization (WHO), and what it did and didn’t do. Given that Mother Nature will never cease to serve up pandemics, we need to learn whatever we can from our chosen radical response to this one.

“WHO can we trust? Just when coronavirus gave the World Health Organization its moment to shine, it bottled it.” https://www.rt.com/op-ed/485155-who-covid-global-panic/

Since it was founded in 1948 from the ashes of its League of Nations predecessor, the WHO should have been gearing up for this moment. There have been serious outbreaks in the past – numerous malaria epidemics, the Ebola outbreak and, of course, the ongoing AIDS pandemic, to name a few – but never has one gripped the global consciousness in the same way as Covid-19.

Despite the aforementioned outbreaks being significantly more lethal, none spread as far, or as fast, forcing the world to grind to a halt or resulting in almost half the globe being under some form of lockdown like this one. If ever there was a time for the WHO to shine, the coronavirus was it; and it has well and truly bottled it. Rather than acting as a cool head in a time of crisis, it has veered from underestimating the scale of the pandemic to making panic-inducing statements after the fact.

The UN is NOT related in any form to the League of Nations. After the League of Nations was formed, the US did even not join it. Wilson acted without the concurrence of congress. Progressives in 1916-20 were every bid as authoritarian and elitist as their democrat party progeny today. Given he was a “progressive”, it may actually have been a good thing we did not join as the differences between the 1917 Bolsheviks and US Progressives was not very much, even though the US placated their European Allies by sending very weak ineffective expeditionary forces to Archangel and Vladivostok in 1918.

The UN was originally a military alliance formed by the “Allied Nations” fighting the Axis towards the end of WWII. It evolved into a world “arbitrating” body after WWII and slid down hill from that point forward. The US actually was founder and MEMBER of this body. Organizationally and charter wise the UN at the beginning had zero in common with the League of Nations.

The purpose of this article shows up at the end: ‘The only help came from Russia.’
    Fake news.
Chinese and Germans came first. I commented on this topic on Saturday, in the Presidential thread.

The author says: ‘Covid-19 has opened the kimono of globalism, and what’s underneath is ugly.’
Who knew that globalism was dressed in a Japanese kimono?

When globalism is the topic, China is the elephant in the room.

But author mentions China just once: ‘Most antibiotics, as well as the main ingredients to produce them, are made in China.’

Clearly, the readers are steered away from China, the main force of globalism. Where the author should talk about a qipao pattern, he talks about kimono.

Keep in mind that the article context is GLOBALISM, OPEN BORDERS, and INDEPENDENCE.

Author spends a paragraph on Italy. He never mentions that Italy has been implementing socialist policies for years, has the largest Chinese population in Europe, and has signed on the Belt and Road initiative. This does not look like regaining INDEPENDENCE.

    Gaslighting at its best.

Steve Bannon: We do not need to hear from you about the liberal world order. You’re guilty sir. You think you have blood on your hands for the bombings back in the Vietnam War? The Washington Post has come under fire after publishing an opinion piece by far-right provocateur Steve Bannon, who previously served as President Donald Trump’s chief adviser and co-founded right-wing outlet Breitbart News.

In his opinion piece, titled, “We’re in an Economic War With China. It’s Futile to Compromise,” Bannon, who served as Trump’s chief strategist from January 2017 to August 2017, calls on the president to “follow his instincts and not soften his stance” against China and its ruling party, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“The United States’ fight is not with the Chinese people but with the CCP,” Bannon writes. “The Chinese people are the first and continuous victims of this barbarous regime,” he says, calling on Trump to stand firm against “the greatest existential threat ever faced by the United States.”

Almost immediately after publishing Bannon’s piece online, The Washington Post faced backlash from readers, with many taking to social media to question why the newspaper would give the far-right campaigner a platform, while others vowed to unsubscribe from the publication.

    Sundance,

Will you consider doing an new additional thread on the Harvard Professor who was arrested this past Jan 28 and specifically if you see any connections to what we are seeing and experiencing today in the country?

I find this sentence from the DOJ filing interesting….

“Unbeknownst to Harvard University beginning in 2011, Lieber became a “Strategic Scientist” at Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in China and was a contractual participant in China’s Thousand Talents Plan from in or about 2012 to 2017.”

Also, I find the timing of the arrest and the travel ban virtually being the same time and very interesting.

    So a few questions:
    1) Did this Dr. Attend the that 201 Conference last fall?
    2) Outside Harvard what other affiliations did he have with 3rd party organizations or people?
    3) Do you think there has been a FISA surveillance going on for some time on this professor and his communications contacts via the 2 hop rule?
    4) any idea what was in the 21 vials of “biological research” that was smuggled out of the US to China?

Finally is there any chance or dots that you see since the President has mentioned the Logan Act numerous times recently that maybe there is another FISA surveillance underway on that topic as well?

Now, that it appears we have peaked and we have a solid preventative in The Trump Cocktail, is it time to investigate by all means if this crisis was planned and or leveraged?

I hope you will consider a new thread on this.

“As a GP, I fear our Covid-19 lockdown will result in significantly more deaths than we are trying to prevent.” https://www.rt.com/op-ed/485110-covid-19-lockdown-deaths/

The counter-argument is that, if funds are not limitless (which they aren’t and can’t be), then we must focus on funding things that do the greatest good. This is why the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) was established.
    […]
However, to keep things (relatively) simple, NICE attempts to compare healthcare interventions against each other by using a form of “currency” called the cost per QALY. A QALY is a Quality Adjusted Life Year. One added year of completely healthy life is one QALY.
    […]
Whichever way you look at QALYs, the fundamental question always comes down to ‘How much can we afford to pay for one QALY?’ In the UK, the current answer is that NICE recommends interventions which cost less than £30,000 ($36,933) per QALY.

I’ve yet to hear any mention of the “rebound” effect that’s going to occur a few weeks after the infection/death totals in the US drop sufficiently.
The town I live in is mostly deserted as so many residents are dual residents of both the US and Mexico and when the MSM induced corona anxiety took off in the US, a lot of them headed back across the border where they are claiming few infections.
There was a lag from China to Italy and from Italy to the US.
I believe when Mexico gets their “real” numbers, these people are going to come flooding back, some to get away from the now dangerous Mexico and some to get back to where they can get free health care because they’re now symptomatic.
If they return at the end of April or May, and it takes a few weeks for the new numbers to start coming in, we could be in for another “peak” in summer.
Even the medical people in Mexico don’t believe there could be tens of thousands of infected people in Ca and Tx and only a few dozen across the border.
Maybe that’s part of the game plan, when it tapers off here, victory is declared, and many health care people take vacations to recuperate from all the overtime, the new wave will hit
when everyone is fed up with being locked down.

And of course each person should consult with their doctor first.

    Dr. Zelenko:

    Dr Stephan Smith:

When you look at all this and then the interesting correlation from Dr Oz who has yet to find a Lupus patient who has been taking hydroxychloroquine for their lupus, who has tested positive for COVID-19.

IMO The Trump Cocktail works and the left won’t come out and support the mounting evidence because they hate PT.
