FARRELL: It’s Time To Review Our Relationship With China
From Chris Farrell’s article for The Daily Caller:

The Wuhan virus caused a public health panic that shook the global economy and virtually shut down the United States. Things might have worked out differently if the international community had been given better warning of what was coming, and if the global scientific community had been mobilized to counter the threat early-on. But this did not happen because the Chinese government deceived the world and tried to hide the impact of the outbreak that has since become a pandemic.

Well, I am simply not ready to sell “all of China” under the bus – not yet.

“Epidemiology,” like it or not, “is not an exact science.” In the best-designed experiment, under the most carefully-controlled conditions, the virus will do what it damned well … yeah.

So, no. I don’t believe that the Chinese people “deceived” anyone. They were, after all, on the front lines. Whether or not they actually were “the first people on earth to encounter” this “novel” virus, they were the first to identify it. But did they, at that point, really understand what they had? No. No human being realistically could. “Hindsight is 20/20,” but that does zero for you “at the time.”

Even as the Chinese government was trying to figure out what they were actually faced with, and then what to do about it, Chinese scientists were spreading the data. And they still are.

Face it: “We” have a problem. A very big problem. “Yes, we do!”

      • GB Bari says:

Your position depends heavily upon the assumption that the CCP was mostly unaware of bioweapon research and development going on in the special level 4 lab in Wuhan.

Being the totalitarian, controlling brutes that they are, they knew precisely what was being developed and cultured inside that facility. And any government that is engaged in that kind of effort has knowledgeable virology experts at the lab. They have the means to test and determine what contagion was released.

I’m not accepting any theory that the CCP were confused or unaware. They knew very quickly when that virus was released, spreading and they tried to cover it up. Simple as that.

It is exactly what communist governments have ALWAYS done – cover up and bury their mistakes so as to promote the huge lie that they are all-powerful, all-wise, and expert at everything they do.

        • Betty says:

Yes, China knew what was going on in those labs, and they had the means to test and determine what was released. I do not believe that China tried to cover it up, I believe that the release of that virus was strategic.

Was it a coincidence that so many people from all over the world were in Wuhan to attend a huge party to celebrate the Chinese New Year? And the Chine goverment told them to go ahead and celebrate (remind you of anyone – including Hillary Clinton)?

Do you think that after 3+ years of watching the bumbling idiots – Brennan, Comey, Clapper, McCabe, Mueller, Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler et. el. trying to remove our solid gold President from office that George Soros, who has been present in Wohan bio weapon research for years, WOULDN’T PULL THE TRIGGER?

When this is over and if the Chinese people are back to the rural substance farmers I will believe that the release was an accident.

      • Jim in TN says:

I don’t care if they developed I or not.

        They lied about it.
They influenced the WHO to cover for their lies.
All so millions of people could travel to the contagious area and then travel back home.

        That is murder.

Then they cover up by blaming us to unite their suffering people against an imaginary enemy.

And they threaten us with denial of medicines.
And they send purchasers loads of medical equipment that doesn’t work, and insist the buyer call it a gift.

So not only did they act in such a way to spread the disease, they are acting to increase the suffering by the disease.

There is no need to impugn motive. This is what they have done and are doing. Blatantly, in the open, for all to see.

We must protect ourselves. Never again should we allow them this much influence over us.

Anyone from anywhere in the world can now get free breakfast, lunch and dinner in New York city

Any hungry New Yorker in need due to the coronavirus pandemic can now get three free meals daily at 435 public school sites throughout the Big Apple.

The grab-and-go food sites had been open to students and their families, but opened to all adults on Friday. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be picked up at the same time.

Adults with children can continue to pick up the free meals from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Adults without children are being offered the free meals from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Why are they doing this? Since schools are closed, the venders ( friends and family of the corrupt politicians ) continue to deliver and cook food in the NYC public schools because, well, they want to get paid. make millions of dollars.

They have been throwing much of it away every evening so they are now giving it away to anyone who shows up.

Pretty slick racket they got going there. Remember once upon a time our kids were taught reading, writing, and arithmetic in school. Almost everyone brought a bag lunch but the cool kids had nice tin lunchboxes adorned with cartoon characters and such. There was no breakfast available on campus, only lunch and nobody really like the food much. Now it’s free meals morning, noon, and night but still Billy can’t read.

Ventilators? Follow the money…there is so much money involved it bogles the mind. Most put on a ventilator will likely die

“Most coronavirus patients who end up on ventilators go on to die, according to several small studies from the U.S., China and Europe.”
“And many of the patients who continue to live can’t be taken off the mechanical breathing machines.:
“All the early research suggests that once coronavirus patients are placed on a ventilator, they will probably need to stay on it for weeks. And the longer patients remain on a breathing machine, the more likely they are to die”.

Mean intensive care unit cost and length of stay were 31,574 +/- 42,570 dollars and 14.4 days +/- 15.8 for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and 12,931 +/- 20,569 dollars and 8.5 days +/- 10.5 for those not requiring mechanical ventilation.

I think one of the things that is the most ‘disappointing’ about all of this talk from the leaders (I exclude the President, I have no problems with him)… is all of their supposed solutions are half assed and don’t work. If it’s really as bad as they claim, all of their solutions are nonsense…. people wear gloves if they’re doing a particular job at the moment where it keeps you from being exposed to what you’re doing… and that makes sense. Wearing gloves everywhere you go does not make sense because the gloves themselves get dirty, or your hands inside the gloves, or you use the dirty gloves to touch something you later touch with your hand, or whatever.

If it’s as bad as they say, the only way to risk contamination is full on haz mat suits, and haz mat suits are thrown away after they use them, or disinfected in safe rooms, etc. there’s tons of protocols with that stuff.

instead they’re telling people to wear gloves. Or wear a paper mask that immediately becomes moist and will likely make you sicker than whoever’s breathing near you.

I went to the grocery store yesterday, they had a plastic piece over the credit card machine, so you wouldn’t touch the filthy buttons everybody else touched. Instead you touch the plastic everybody else touched. What kind of sense does that make?

At the “arbys” they had a sign, please pay with your credit card to slow the spread, no cash. So instead of me handing them cash and leaving, I now have to hand them my card, then they hand it back, then I go somewhere else and hand it to someone else, they hand it back, etc.

That makes it worse. A lot of their solutions are either ineffective, or make it even worse. They send all the kids home, now the kids (who resist infection) are couped up in a house with all the adults, who are more easily infected. This puts the children MORE at risk, not less at risk. If they were at school the nurse could monitor them all and see what’s going on, instead they’re stuck at home while their parents go bankrupt.

I ordered Door Dash, they’re leaving the food by default at the front door now. They still carried the bag up to the door, somebody still prepared the food, they still handled it on that end, it was still in the person’s car the entire time they drove it to me. If I’m going to get infected, I might as well open the door and smile at the person and greet them so I can feel like a damn human.

None of this is an effective way to stop infections. It’s false hope, or it’s overblown.

Exactly! Burger King is offering “contactless” delivery. They set your bag on a tray and hold the tray out to you. They still touched the damn bag! And now we are supposed to pick our food up off the ground? It’s insane.

    • These are great points, Ron. You understand aseptic technique and contact transmission a lot better than the average member of the public.

I do see a point in trying to convey messages that “it will all be over soon”, “We’re doing well, it’s not that big a problem”. As the line from “A Few Good Men” indicates, people can’t all handle the truth. Some panic, act selfishly and put others at risk. A certain amount of benevolent deception is therefore to be expected from local leaders. Getting folks to perform half-measure ritual behaviors is part of that. So is touting unproven drug therapies. Placebo effect and crowd control.

I’ve taken to having a little spray device in one pocket when I go out to shop and get gas. A fresh spritz of antibacterial foamy soap goes on anything I can’t avoid touching – then my hands get dried with a tissue from the opposite pocket, which is then tossed. There’s also a box of nitrile disposable gloves in the car. (It really IS a glove compartment for once.) One use, then change and toss. Peel them off from the inside edge. The outside’s contaminated. At home, everything’s getting cleaned as if it was an ICU ward. I wear different sets of going out clothes vs. staying in ones. The travel clothes get laundered after having been out.

People look at me like I’m OCD/nuts, and of course if there are droplet particles in the air I could still breathe them in. But so far, so good.

Has anyone else heard anything about red tape getting in the way of the SBA loans?

    • My work involves recouping state & federal money that was fraudulently obtained by people in the wake of a major hurricane several years ago. Millions and millions of dollars (SBA $$ included) went out the door to folks who lied to get the money in the midst of that disaster because the state & federal government didn’t ask the right questions. So there is a very valid reason for making sure people qualify.

It’s at the point in the video where Andy had been jostled and roughed up and is walking away up the street from his attackers, and one guy steps out and throws a cup (“milkshake”) that hits Andy in the back of the head and it bounces off like a solid object – not like a beverage-filled paper or plastic cup that would crumple and fall.

While reading all the comments about Fauci & Brix pushing for the big national shutdown, which is potentially causing the worst ever depression, I wondered it PTrump decided to take the big hit this year and enact the DPA knowing that round 2 of a COVID-19 pandemic will be 2020/2021.

The DPA allows PT to totally get companies, ie 3M, Ford, etc., in line and re-purposed, although by summer much if not the majority of product will reinforce PPE product stockpiles (fed & states).

PTrump is a long-term planner. Maybe this big shutdown doesn’t make sense to most readers based on the death rate, but in fact, everything might make sense if in the long run when the virus returns (and experts say it will, possibly mutated like the seasonal flu) PTrump’s action plan will really be ready to go full force from the get-go. Everyone will know their part. Sorta like the fire drills in school growing up.

President Trump has done a masterful job of orchestrating a plan and using the DPA hammer when needed. As big as this event is it might be the fire drill. The really big event might actually be in a year or so.

        Narrative engineering

They plant the seed with a press question or article
Then water it gently, hoping it will take root and bloom
Then blow it like a ripe dandelion, dispersing the little white hairs to the wind

They are planning for it. Obama was protected by our racist elitists for the fall out of H1N1 because he is a mulatto. Once we learn not to vote for an outsider again. All these virus will be gone and never be heard again. s/

And I just learned manh other doctors & dentists are deemed non essential??

So we’re missing a lot of smaller or moderate visits & procedures that can cause problems, or actually be a bigger but undiagnosed issues – because people aren’t going to the doctor!

On top of that, hospitals now starved of revenue!

My mechanic is open, garbage & commercial recycling open, bug not doctors & dentists?

Perfect time for those with savings to have a doctor’s visit or use the upcoming gov’t checks.

    Good start.

WHERE ARE ALL OF the FIRINGS Richard Grenell was supposed to bring down like the Greeks at Thermopylae?

I love Joe diGenova, but he’s become almost a contra indicator.
