I think with the tweet did that upset Barr taught us something. Pretense and appearances are very important to Barr.

More so than truth or justice? Perhaps PT just found out.

    Hope it ain’t so.

I believe that Barr said today that he is no fan of Roger Stone but felt that he had to intervene and no the President Didn’t talk to him about the case but yet he went to his buddies and shot off his mouth and so did mcconnell and shame the hell on both of them
Time for President Trump to take back his arthority from Barr and tell him he is not an independent body of the Gov. but that he works for the President and he had better wake up before he has more people on his butt than he can count on all of his little fingers and toes
Sick of this mess Brennon was on ABC this morning shooting his mouth off so I really hope that Durham is for real because if he is just another Huber then we don’t need his crap either .

I don’t care who he is a fan or not a fan of. Justice is supposed to be blind, based on what you did, not who you are, and equally applied to all.
The fact that Barr even expressed his personal opinion of Roger Stone is a mark against him.

Yes, Barr appears to be increasingly uncomfortable about and sensitive to both Ms. Powell’s recent revelations about the Flynn FBI 302 and the outrageous sentencing recommendation for Stone.

I am convinced the special “review” Barr ordered of the Flynn case is pure damage control. Watch for “classification” and “ongoing investigation” veils to shroud anything that would embarrass the FBI/DOJ or reveal criminal culpability by their agents and/or prosecutors.

The President is cleverly inducing Barr to out himself, with his tweets clearly ruffling his sensitive feathers.

Outstanding SOTU address and end of impeachment, followed by the ridiculous sentencing and machinations that follow. Likely fact-starved hyperbole (impossible to have rule of law cuz tweets) from Barr combined with shot across bow from McConnell. McCabe let off hook while more machinations regarding Flyyn case are discussed. All while WaPo reportedly rallies round the CIA as some sunlight allegedly heads their way. On it goes.

It’s laughable that Roger still thinks he’s going to get a fair trial. They’ll just use it as an excuse to give him 20 years next time instead of 9. The next jurors won’t be dumb enough to not scrub their social media.

Of course he’s fighting for his life and has no choice, but we live in a banana republic, you don’t get fair trials here.

Legal question: what would a defendant have to do in order to move his/her trial out of a particular locale due to bias of the jury pool?

Given the visibility of everything that’s happened since 2016 in terms of Manafort, Flynn, Stone, Weissman/Mueller, et al., wouldn’t the defense have a strong case for?

        Like

        • dilonsfo says:

You have to file a Change of Venue motion. In that motion you have to show that the defendant will not be able to find jurors who are not biased against the defendant. It use to work and still does if the prosecution files the motion. But judges now tell defendants that the will call a jury pool and if a jury cannot be seated because of bias then the judge will entertain a change of venue. They alway find a jury who claim they are not biased.

PRESIDENT TRUMP BLINDSIDED? BIG CHESS MOVE IS REQUIRED? JUDICIAL WATCH?

It appears P/T got blindsided outplayed for the moment…I do not know.

    P/T news conference JUST-2-days ago going after McCabe;
were is Comey, what is happening with “McCabe”???, what happening to Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, it was a setup, false documents and everyone knows

    Entire news conference 2-days ago:
They treated Roger Stone very badly they treated everybody very badly, and if you look at the Mueller investigation, it was a scam, because it was illegally set up, it was set up based upon false documentation, of false documents you look at what happened and how many people were hurt, their lives were destroyed, and nothing happened to the people that did it, is such a scam, were is Comey, what is happening with McCabe, what happening to Lisa Page, and Peter Strzok, it was a set-up, it was a disgrace for our country and everyone knows it, everyone,

IMO President Trump might have been outplayed for the moment and there has to be a Big Chess-Move by P/T shortly.

We know that P/T has been watching Barr and the President (American people) Barr would reveal himself by spring…

Maybe P/T just got his answer and doesn’t have to wait for this spring? And if so, P/T needs to take actions according to many of Judicial Watch recommendations given over the last 2-years.

P/T is 100% responsible for justice and must use his powers according to the Constitution and implement justice.

Blindsided? Or did Trump just force Barr to reveal his hand? To show Barr’s duplicity?

It is better for us, and the President, to know the truth than it is for any of us to believe false hopes.

Just think of the huge campaign that has gone on these last few days to get us to believe that all these people will be prosecuted by Durham. Supposedly orchestrated by Barr.

But now we know better. Frankly, we knew better when they said they wouldn’t prosecute Comey. Maybe this time we will learn.

And the President now knows his DOJ is protecting the criminals who came after him. And he knows that he cannot trust Barr to do the right thing. Time to take declassification out of Barr’s hands and order release of everything. Especially things damning to the DOJ.

That is exactly how Chicago mob boss Tony Accardo was able to get another trial on appeal. His attorney cited prejudicial newspaper reporting on Accardo’s facing income tax evasion. The first trial ended in a conviction in 1960 and Accardo faced 11 years in prison. He was found not guilty in his second trial.

Interestingly his attorney at both trials was Maurice Walsh. Previously Walsh was an asst US Attorney in September 1943 and represented the gov’t when Accardo was in US court as part of the Hollywood Extortion Case being leveled at the Chicago Outfit’s top leadership. Accardo was resisting being called as a material witness for the trial of his associates. Accardo always boasted of having never spent a night in jail – except in this instance he was arrested on a Sunday and released the following Wednesday and appeared in federal court in handcuffs twice during that timespan as did Walsh for the government. So Tony had been behind bars and ate the baloney sandwich.

Things ended up working out for Accardo. He became top boss when those on trial were convicted.

Walsh represented Accardo when he went into private practice and later so did his son Carl.

Yes the news is bad and discouraging..But we are not blind and we
can see what is coming especially if POTUS loses in 2020. So there is one
thing WE and only WE can do..BE PREPARED..Quietly start making plans for
you and your family. your finances etc. IF it all falls apart at least we
will be ready..No one else will look out for you or me so look out
for yourselves.. Those who are not paying attention will be shocked
when things go bad..We not so much and we have a bit of time to
be prepared. Think of it like storm preparations.

There is truth and value in what you say.

Wealth preservation can be as challenging as wealth acquisition in times like these. Anyone who does not protect/hedge their nest egg investments that are not in highly-rated fixed income investments or risk-free instruments like CDs or Treasuries is taking a big gamble at election time.

I suggest people decide on an amount they cannot afford to lose, and then aggressively protect it with defensive, low risk investments. If the President loses, the immediate and negative impact on the markets can be avoided or greatly mitigated.

      • Don’t bet on it not being either a lab screw up or planned event. Not allowing in WHO when they are neck deep in a problem is a concern. Possibilities WHO might have the muscle (world wide publicity) to determine actual source or might not be on board with control measures. Two apparent major viral outbreaks in around two years raises interesting questions. Previous one? African Swine Fever (not an influenza or coronavirus) and it did a number on their pork production.

The “fact-finding” missions, the “diplomatic” missions, all of the luxury trips, including families and friends, on the taxpayers’ monies under the guise of something official – they all need to end.

What is the House representative from San Francisco or Los Angeles going to learn in Italy that is going to help them serve Americans in the U.S. House of Representatives?

These should be ended. Any trip by a Congressperson or staff member should be hugely vetted, stating the actual cost to the nation versus the flimsy reimbursement paid, as well as just exactly what the purpose of it is. This information should be sent to the OMB and the individual’s home district BEFORE any travel takes place. And they definitely should not be taking place on government/military flights.

A lot of these decades-long congresscritters can now afford whatever it takes to leave the country and find a way to collect their 30 pieces of silver, but putting a stop to the process now will deter future corruption, as well as make it more difficult for those who are trying to play at crossing the President’s foreign policy.
