Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

      It’s a real life Lost World, like in the writings of H. R. Haggard, Arthur Conan Doyle and A. Merritt! Without dinosaurs or lost civilizations, but even so.
      Wow. I wonder if it was a refuge during the Vietnamese war, by one side or the other. It makes me want to get some spelunking gear and the first plane to Vietnam.

      Saw him once in Dallas (in the early 70’s) at a place called Mother Blues.
      He was picking five distinct melodies (at the same time) while being so drunk he fell off his stool. Made a lifelong fan out of me! Self-taught, never had a guitar lesson in his life and I heard once that he recorded something like five albums BEFORE he ever even played with another musician. My favorite song of his is called When Shrimps Learned To Whistle.

    Are You A Pauline Epistle?

    “Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men” (II Cor. 3:2).

    Since the Corinthians were saved by Paul’s gospel (I Cor. 15:1-4), the apostle calls them his epistles. Webster said that an epistle is “a writing… communicating intelligence to a distant person.” Surely the “intelligence,” i.e., the information that the Corinthians communicated to the world was that even the most sinful of men could be justified by God’s grace (I Cor. 6:9-11).

    But if Paul could say to the Corinthians, “ye are our epistle,” why does he go on to say that they were “manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ” (3:3)? Ah, a letter written by an apostle under the inspiration of the Spirit was a letter from Christ! And since everyone who is saved today is also saved as a result of having believed Paul’s gospel, you too are a Pauline epistle! And so the debate over whether Paul wrote 14 or just 13 epistles is over! The apostle penned millions of letters over the past many centuries.

    It has often been said that you are the only Bible that some people will ever read, and this is sadly so. What a responsibility this places on us to live lives worthy of the Lord! Handwriting experts can tell who a letter is from by the way the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed, etc. Can men tell who sent you, Christian friend? Are you dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s when it comes to godliness? Many Christians who wouldn’t dream of corrupting the written word of God found in Paul’s epistles (II Cor. 2:17) carelessly corrupt the living epistles of their lives by inconsistent godliness. Remember, letters don’t get time off! They read the same today as they did yesterday, and we too should be as consistent in our Christian testimony. If you are holy on Sunday and a holy terror the rest of the week, this is unacceptable to God (Rom. 12:1,2).

    Since the epistle of our life is “known and read of all men” (II Cor. 3:2), we want to make sure we don’t give men a faulty “reading” of Christ. All men understand by the stars that God exists, as the stars too are known and read of all men (Psa. 19:1-3). But while all men understand by the stars that God exists, all men understand by us what kind of God He is. When we live “soberly, righteously, and godly” (Titus 2:12), we prove to others what is acceptable to the Lord (Eph. 5:8-10).

      Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
      9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
      10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

      Paul does assert credentials where warranted through his letters — especially when false and deceitful people (cf. Galatians 2:4, 2 Cor. 11-12) were calling his credibility into question, and the Corinthians were certainly among those receiving Paul’s assertions. However, he was always quick to take the spotlight off himself lest any misimpression or personal elevation occur: “Now we have such confidence through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient from ourselves to reckon anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God” (2 Cor. 3:4-5).

      Such an individual focus and elevation, even on one who shared the Gospel with them, had already been the subject of Paul’s rebuke of the Corinthians: “Now I mean this, that each of you says, “I indeed am of Paul,” and “I of Apollos,” and “I of Cephas,” and “I of Christ.” Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?” (1 Cor. 1:12-13). Such man-focused attention was called out as inappropriate: “For when one might say, “I indeed am of Paul,” but another, “I of Apollos,” are you not fleshly?” (1 Cor. 3:4).

    I am Israeli and I sometimes updating you with news that are not seen on American media. Yesterday four rockets were fired from Syria into Israel. They were intercepted by Iron Dome defense system. Now, you should know that Israel has a new Defense Minister who is a tough guy who was in Special Forces himself. It was discovered that Iran was behind the attack on Israel. Today Israel launched the largest attack on Iranian forces in Syria. Twenty targets were destroyed including a Command and Control center and about six Syrian Air Defense batteries were destroyed too after they tried to attack the Israeli airplanes. Israeli defense Minister said that :
    “The rules have changed: Anyone who fires at the State of Israel during the day does not sleep at night. So it was last week and so it is this week,” he said.
    “Our message to Iran’s leaders is simple: You are no longer immune. Wherever you send your octopus arms – we will cut them off,” continued Bennett.
    Another senior Israeli defense official mentioned that Iranian leadership are no longer immune
    (I believe he referred to the head of Iranian Quds Force (their external force). Here is what we have on video:

      Shouldn’t be any question as to the origins of the rockets being fired at Israel, there Iranians have even set up factories in Syria to assemble the components sent in from Iran. Then again the don’t have serial numbers, ‘hecho en Iran’ or a Tehran return address on them so the press and the UN can hide behind ‘reasonable doubt’.

      As the best the indigenous Moslem terrs can come up with is the Qassam rocket and the ones being fired at Israel aren’t available on eBay or Amazon (hear that Bezos?) there’s a limited pool they could come from.

      Madman Cuomo’s in an all out war against the church.
      I think that’s why his breast cancer survivor girlfriend left him after 14 years. It did not make sense that at their ages, and after what she had been through, they would split up because their relationship was ‘only’ a deep friendship.

      He personally ordered a very small adoption agency shut down, because although they passed every inspection, they only placed babies with married heterosexual couples.
      How radical is that, placing babies with a mother and father?
      Isn’t that interference in the natural mother’s rights, because presumably she didn’t carry a baby for nine months, give birth, and contact this particular adoption agency, because she didn’t care what sort of family it went to.
      So, Cuomo wants to take away her right to decide who she gives her baby to?

      These things will eventually get knocked down in court, it’s a shame that one man’s thwarted ambition has caused all this pain and suffering to innocent people.

    Beware of the pleasant view of the Fatherhood of God – God is so kind and loving that of course He will forgive us. That sentiment has no place whatever in the New Testament. The only ground on which God can forgive us is the tremendous tragedy of the Cross of Christ; to put forgiveness on any other ground is unconscious blasphemy. The only ground on which God can forgive sin and reinstate us in His favour is through the Cross of Christ, and in no other way. Forgiveness, which is so easy for us to accept, cost the agony of Calvary. It is possible to take the forgiveness of sin, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and our sanctification with the simplicity of faith, and to forget at what enormous cost to God it was all made ours.

    Forgiveness is the divine miracle of grace; it cost God the Cross of Jesus Christ before He could forgive sin and remain a holy God. Never accept a view of the Fatherhood of God if it blots out the Atonement. The revelation of God is that He cannot forgive; He would contradict His nature if He did. The only way we can be forgiven is by being brought back to God by the Atonement. God’s forgiveness is only natural in the supernatural domain.

    Compared with the miracle of the forgiveness of sin, the experience of sanctification is slight. Sanctification is simply the marvelous expression of the forgiveness of sins in a human life, but the thing that awakens the deepest well of gratitude in a human being is that God has forgiven sin. Paul never got away from this. When once you realize all that it cost God to forgive you, you will be held as in a vice, constrained by the love of God.

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
