Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Buy the Truth and Sell It Not

Every true Christian should understand that the truth costs. If you don’t think so, make it your own, value it, defend it, stand for it, and see if it doesn’t cost. Before you are through it may cost you far more than you had thought — hours of ease and pleasure, friends and money. Yes, the truth costs. Salvation is gloriously free but the truth costs — that is, if you want it for yourself. Many who know the truth won’t buy it. They won’t pay what it costs to say: “This is what I believe. This is my conviction.” The truth isn’t worth that much to them.

But in Prov. 23:23 God’s Word urges us: “Buy the truth”! Not, “Buy it if you can get it at a bargain; if the price is not too great.” No, “Buy the truth”! Buy it at any price. It is worth far more than anything you can give in exchange for it.

And when you have bought it: “sell it not.” How many, alas, have bought the truth only to sell out again! For a while they valued and defended some God-given light from His Word, but presently they sold it again for something that seemed more valuable. Perhaps it was peace with others, or position, or popularity or some other temporal gain. They still gave mental assent to it but it formed no part of them. It was no longer a conviction.

Such should read again the Spirit’s counsel: “Buy the truth, and sell it not.” He does not say: “Don’t sell it unless you can get a very good price for it.” He says: “Sell it not.” Sell it not at any price. Buy it, no matter what it costs and when it is yours do not sell it for any price or under any consideration.

It is because the truth is so little valued in this indifferent age, that many of God’s people have become so spiritually powerless. They hold opinions instead of convictions, because they have given the infallible, unchangeable Word of God little place in their lives. God blesses and uses those who “buy the truth and sell it not.”

Oh, my, Pale rider, such a harsh generalization. Surely you know folks who don’t fit that category. We all know of people like Dr. Ben Carson and Justice Clarence Thomas. But there are millions of average citizens we never hear about because they lead lives of dignity, courage, and honor. We only hear about the mess-ups, the criminals. None of my black friends fit into that category of crutch users. They are college grads, retired military officers, Vietnam vets, actors, writers, inventors, librarians, businessmen, accountants, sportsmen.

Expect the best from everyone, work toward seeing that everyone’s potential is realized and “miracles” happen. That’s President Trump’s philosophy, and I believe it.

Matthew 22:37-40 “Love the Eternal One your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is nearly as important, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” The rest of the law, and all the teachings of the prophets, are but variations on these themes.

    DISCERNMENT OF FAITH

“Faith as a grain of mustard seed…” Matthew xvii. 20

We have the idea that God rewards us for our faith, it may be so in the initial stages; but we do not earn anything by faith, faith brings us into right relationship with God and gives God His opportunity. God has frequently to knock the bottom board out of your experience if you are a saint in order to get you into contact with Himself. God wants you to understand that it is a life of FAITH, not a life of sentimental enjoyment of His blessings. Your earlier life of faith was narrow and intense, settled around a little sun-spot of experience that had as much of sense as of faith in it, full of light and sweetness; then God withdrew His conscious blessings in order to teach you to walk by faith. You are worth far more to Him now than you were in your days of conscious delight and thrilling testimony.

Faith by its very nature must be tried, and the real trial of faith is not that we find it difficult to trust God, but that God’s character has to be cleared in our own minds. Faith in its actual working out has to go through spells of unsyllabled isolation. Never confound the trial of faith with the ordinary discipline of life, much that we call the trial of faith is the inevitable result of being alive. Faith in the Bible is faith in God against everything that contradicts Him – I will remain true to God’s character whatever He may do. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” – this is the most sublime utterance of faith in the whole of the Bible.

Physical man yes, The spiritual is the beginning of faith at the end of our physical perception.
And one more addition I would like to point at in that quote. “Against everything that contradicts him”. We limit God, a limitless being of Love through our weakness or inability to let go of our perceptions. Health, healing, joy unspeakable, peace that passeth all understanding, prosperity, depends on our surrender, faith and trust in his word being truth. “To walk with him in the cool of the day”

Baby Smiles at Dad After Waking from Medically Induced Coma

A 14-month-old baby recognized his father and smiled after waking from a five-day coma in the United Kingdom.

He suffered from cardiac arrest and when paramedics arrived at their home, they shocked the little boy with a defibrillator and injected adrenaline into his body to stabilize his heartbeat.

Michael was rushed to the hospital where doctors put him in a medically induced coma to shield his brain from any further damage.

However, five days later he opened his eyes and grinned at his dad.

“It’s a moment I will cherish with every inch of my heart,” his mom said. “To be really honest, it’s got to be the happiest moment of my life. He is a living miracle, and we have never felt prouder of him.”

I read that your having Windows 10 OS/Browser issues.

I take what you posted as EACH browser you have on your Win10 (Chrome, FireFox, Internet Exlorer, Opera, Edge) machine is displaying web pages as TEXT like, instead of photos and style sheets (borders, icons, etc). A screenshot would help, but if your not tech savvy, you may not be able to supply one here.

1)Turn OFF PC for about 5 mins to clear your RAM completely.

    2) clear CACHE and History. – instruction readily found online even readable in TEXT formats, and I assume you still have an “internet connection”.

    3) Try “resetting” which ever browser (Chrome, FireFox, Internet Exlorer, Edge) you are having a problem with. – instructions online.

Also of importance – when was your last Win10 UPDATE – issues abound with WIN10 OS updates lmao! May need to “roll back” until a newer fixed update, happens ALL the time. (I use Linux Mint running off of a bootable flash drive).

    Post again if no joy!

This concerns a pet peeve of mine, congressional junkets on military aircraft swilling alcohol on the taxpayer’s dime. Military members cannot drink alcohol on military aircraft, so why should congressional members and their staffs be allowed to? Really pisses me off, so I started a White House Petition today:

Congressional delegations use military aircraft for transportation on their junkets, and the planes are stocked with beer/wine/alcohol. I know from personal experience these delegations often deplete the stock of alcohol on the military aircraft on which they travel, and request resupply at refueling points along their journey. I worked in the Protocol Office at Alaskan Air; we would receive a list of alcohol needed to restock these aircraft 4 hours prior to their arrival at Elmemdorf AFB for refueling to points westward. I personally would go to liquor stores to buy the requested alcohol (specified by brand and name and all top shelf items) to replenish the aircraft at Elmemdorf AFB. Military members cannot drink on military aircraft; elected officials should not be allowed to either.

On a related matter, Speaker of the House is probably still using military aircraft to get to the west coast pretty frequently. I’d like to know what kind of bar tab she and her family/staff have run up so far this year. Probably a simple FOIA request, but don’t know how to do that.

Anyhow, if any of ya agree and have a few moments, go to the WH Petition website and give the petition some support…

Since POTUS does not drink, he might be inclined to make this policy with a stroke of his pen…

Judicial Watch did do some research on the overall issue of Congressional use of military aircraft in the past and discovered that Pelosi would request aircraft frequently to ferry herself and family/staff to the West Coast. Of note, one of her predecessors as Speaker of the House, John Boehner, just flew commercial. After putting up a big stink, Pelosi got Military Aircraft authorized to be her personal airline. Judicial Watch discovered that Pelosi then demanded that the aircraft provided to her be able to make it from DC to San Fransisco without refueling. It was also discovered her staff would often be kinda beligerent with the schedulers if their demands could not be met, and she personally weighed in a couple times.

POTUS already yanked her chain once by pulling military aircraft support on a previous trip (I had a smile a mile wide for a few days)…a nice tweet such as below might be interesting for the taxpayers:

“so far in 2019, the Speaker of he House has racked up xx,xxx miles on military aircraft and on these trips was accompanied by members of her family and staff. These trips cost the US taxpayer $xxx, xxx incliding food and alcohol. Military members cannot drink on military aircraft and today I signed an executive order banning alcohol on military aircraft, completely. The US taxpayer should not be providing an open bar for congressional junkets.”

He studied Greek philosophy, medicine, and art as a young man. At the time that the Lord Jesus was at work upon earth, Luke went to Jerusalem, saw the Saviour face to face, heard His saving teaching, witnessed His wonderful works, and came to belief in the Lord. Luke was among the Seventy and wrote his Gospel at the command of Saint Peter and the Acts of the Apostles at the command of Saint Paul. He travelled much as a preacher of the Gospel. Saint Luke painted several Icons and is regarded as the founder of Christian iconography. At the age of 84 he was hanged by idol-worshippers from an olive tree in Thebes in Beothia in Greece.
