Red Hen Restaurant Owner Followed Sanders Family To Next Restaurant to Continue Harassment…

Stephanie Wilkinson and family, owners of Red Hen restaurant.

Back Story Here –  The story of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders being kicked out of a Virginia restaurant by the owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, takes on more context today as Mike Huckabee explained during a radio interview.

According to Mr. Huckabee the owner of the Red Hen restaurant not only kicked out Sarah Sanders and her in-laws, but she followed them to another restaurant, organized a group of people to assist her efforts, and then led the mob in continued harassment of the Sanders family.

Mike Huckabee was interviewed by Laura Ingraham for her radio show:

For the conservative, when life presents great struggles, he/she knows she has the power to surmount them. Happiness stems from internal strength and perseverance. For the liberal, when life presents great struggles, the system failed, therefore they were at the mercy of a faulty system, and they believe that only when the system is fixed can their life improve.

A progressive liberals’ happiness is built on systemic contingencies, which they will then seek to control or expect someone else to.  One holds herself accountable; the other holds anyone and everyone accountable except herself.

And there it is. There’s where the origin of hate comes from.

The liberal ideology causes that person to cast anger at the world when things go wrong or appear “unfair.” She constantly chooses only to see the “injustices” – and that makes for a very miserable, toxic and blame-casting existence.

Only three state or local jurisdictions protect against discriminatory refusals of service based on political affiliation or opinion,” One of them is Washington, D.C. The others are Seattle and the Virgin Islands.

    D.C. Code

Since she stalked Sarah to a 2nd location,Virginia’s stalking law applies but is just a misdemeanor.

A non violent solution is possible:
    1) Able bodied Deplorables should dine there incognito in groups of three or more (for safety in case it gets ugly).
    2) Once the food is served, they pull out and wear their MAGA hats, and record the ensuing harassment with their cell phones while behaving politely, as they get up and leave WITHOUT PAYING!
The operation will soon go broke if this is done constantly.
It also could chase many cowardly liberal customers away.
If there is no harassment the Deplorables win the moral victory of having stood up to these pukes!

I saw someone posted stats of a fb poll that was on one of the pages of some commerce type group she was head of in Lexington. The stats were overwhelming to fire her at 86-14 percent. That seems to be true reading your post about how the public is outraged. I think at that point in the poll there were 23k respondents.

Doug, I will explain: Stephanie Wilkinson’s father was corporate executive David Preis Wilkinson (1924-2008), originally from New Jersey. One of David P. Wilkinson’s older sisters, Mary Wolf Wilkinson (1915-2001), married Harry Wilbur Streep, Jr. (1909-2003) on October 20, 1940, in New Jersey. They were the parents of actress Meryl Streep (born 1949). Mary Wilkinson Streep was thus Stephanie Wilkinson’s aunt. Stephanie Wilkinson (born 1962) and Meryl Streep are thus first cousins.

      • sat0422 says:

The fact that she is a cousin to the commie Streep is not a surprise. When I was younger and when it didn’t matter much if you were a Dem or a Republican, I thought Streep was a wonderful actress. She ruined that when she became known as a just another liberal Hollywood communist.

The News-Gazette in Lextard Va (they endorsed Cankles as “the responsible choice” for president) has had this report on-line.

Visitors, Residents Split On Resturant Owner’s Decision

Saturday, 6 p.m. – Two long-robed Buddhists took in the Red Hen restaurant at the corner of Washington and Randolph streets early Saturday evening on their way home from protesting at the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Verona about 45 minutes’ drive away, where children of illegal immigrants are being held separately from their parents.

“We are concerned about the negative treatment of the immigrant population as a whole and particularly about the kids,” one of the monks said. “This is not the America we know in terms of our values. We’re hoping the policies will be changed.”

They wanted to express solidarity with Red Hen owner Stephanie Wilkinson, who on Friday night requested President Tump’s press secretary to leave the restaurant. The incident went viral on social media and in the press after, as related in The Washington Post, one of the restaurant’s employees posted to his Facebook wall his photo of the restaurant’s whiteboard, including the note: “86− Sara (sic) Huckabee Sanders.” The numbers “86” refer to discontinuing a menu
offering, or, in this case, a patron.

Sanders, say local residents, was staying with friends at The George’s inn half a block away. What brought her to Lexington was not known by shopkeepers and residents interviewed on Saturday.

As the newest tourist spot in town, the Red Hen is attracting people across the political spectrum. Near the Buddhists stood three Washington and Lee students, at the college for the summer, two of whom came in support of the third, Saimon Islam from Bangladesh, a rising senior, math major and film minor.

“I’m a strong supporter of our president and administration − like a lot of students at W&L and the majority of Rockbridge County,” he said.

“When I heard this news (about Sanders being asked to leave the restaurant), I was deeply upset,” he continued. “I like to think this community is inclusive, but this local establishment betrayed that message. It was a highly detrimental step toward creating a platform of welcome.”

The Rock the Bridge street party taking place on and beneath the East Nelson Street bridge is “a community engagement event,” but not serving someone is an act of exclusion,” Islam said. “My response wherever I’m living is to engage and learn from each other, whatever side of the aisle we’re on.”

The Red Hen was closed to the public Saturday evening, after Wilkinson received three death threats, according to friend and nearby shopkeeper Siobhan Deeds. Deeds said she’d also received three calls marked “unknown private caller,” including one from Oklahoma, asking her to support shutting down the Red Hen.

A visitor from Alleghany County who had dined at the Red Hen in the past for special occasions, said that, though an “ardent anti-Trump person,” he still did not support Wilkinson’s action. “As a business owner it’s your business to serve everyone no matter their politics or sexual orientation,” he said.

However, he added, “I fully support the Red Hen’s right to express their opinion, whether I agree with it or not.”

Michelle Watkins, chair of the Rockbridge County Democratic Committee, noted that a rally in support of immigrant youths being held at the Verona juvenile detention center is set for tomorrow morning, Sunday, with a number of people from Lexington and Rockbridge planning to attend.

“We need healthy change and safe change,” she said. She was pleased that Wilkinson’s action helped “get Lexington on the map,” as a place supporting change.

City Council member Chuck Smith, owner of Lexington Purveyors next door to the Red Hen, said he’d received calls asking him to discontinue selling ready-assembled dinner kits provided by the Red Hen. His response was threefold: he had previously discontinued selling the kits, he supports the Constitution of the United States, and he reserves the right to refuse service − something he’s done only once.

On her way to dinner with her husband, Ellen Satrom of Lexington, a member of the political action group 50 Ways Rockbridge, called Wilkinson’s action “not an anti-Republican move: She (Huckabee) is a public spokesperson who misleads the American people and supports an inhumane, cruel policy of separating children from their parents at the border, which is incredibly psychologically damaging.”

Some theorize that President Trump had more meaning in his tweet when he talked about how the inside must be dirty. Then we find there is a connection to Hollywood. There is also a report they only stay open for 4.5 hours in the eve and are closed 2 days of the week, so how could they make it financially and what other reason could there be for this restaurant to be in business. Money laundering? trafficking? who knows but there are questions about how you could run a business with only 34 seats, short operating hours, pay the bills, and still make money.

Lexington Businesses Express Concern About Backlash From Saunders Story

LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) Lexington makes its living on visitors like Sarah Sanders, and that worries some, because the internet storm has a wide footprint.

People who are associated with Red Hen, but don’t work there anymore, say because they appear on the internet with the restaurant, they too have gotten some hate mail.

Also, local restaurants, concerned about tourism business, have posted notices saying they’re not the Red Hen, and they in turn have gotten backlash from people on the Red Hen’s side. One restaurant owner told me he had even gotten calls on his home phone number.

Other businesses that are not in the restaurant business are a bit concerned about the effects.

Also on Washington Street, just a couple blocks from Red Hen, Skin Is In provides facials, and other beauty services.

“I worry a little bit about it,” says owner Mare Scott, “But my business is different.”

But she, like many in business in Lexington, is concerned.

“I did read some things on Facebook once again that people were going to actually boycott Lexington, they were thinking of going down South and they were going to bypass Lexington,” Scott says. “And if they mean it, then that will hurt this town.”

But with an internet uproar that is only days old, the real world effects are yet to be truly seen.

What will get them is the boycott of downtown Lex.

I think the issue here is how they view themselves, and how they view anyone that supports the President. Somehow having a national border is wrong. Somehow having a legal immigration system that should be enforced is wrong. Somehow a spokesperson providing information as to the performance of the President is wrong. And somehow “they” are the voices of inclusion, tolerance, love, high morals, and understanding.

Fannie – the difference is huge and has been explained before, but briefly, the bakers did not kick the gay couple out of their business and the gay couple were absolutely free to purchase any cake – any item on the premise. However, they wanted a specific “wedding cake” to be made by the owner, which infringed on his personal beliefs as an individual artist who cannot be made to participate in something which he doesn’t want to participate in. He did NOT refuse them service – he only refused to participate in adding his personal artistry to an event he could not condone nor participate in because his religious beliefs don’t condone nor support gay marriage. It is his right as an individual to say “no” to something he doesn’t want to participate in. Anyway, this is how it has been explained in the past so I hope it answers your question.

Only helps us in the long run and strengthens PDJT’s support base. I believe it brings people to our side.

UK paper takes a crack at the issue.

“Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee revealed his daughter Sarah Huckabee Sanders was heckled even more than what was originally said by owners of a Virginia restaurant who asked her to leave because she works for the Trump administration.

The conservative politician made the remarks Monday on The Laura Ingraham Show.

Huckabee said, while speaking of the incident that took place initially at the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington on Friday: ‘There’s a part of that story that has not been told.’

He went on: ‘Once Sarah and her family left – of course Sarah was asked to please vacate – Sarah and her husband just went home, they’d had enough. But, the rest of her family went across the street to a different restaurant.

‘The owner of the Red Hen – nobody’s told this – then followed them across the street, called people and organized a protest, yelling and screaming at them from outside the other restaurant and creating this scene.’…”
