And EO or not, Border Patrol President, Brandon Judd, a good guy, just said that like it or not, catch and release (of entire families now because of EO) will continue! That’s what the left wanted, and now they got it!

Please cite your source for stating Trumps EO returns us to a policy of Catch and Release. This seems like DISINFORMATION. Everything I have read says that the EO confirmed Trumps Zero Tolerance for illegal immigration. Perhaps someone was triggered by the EO into having an emotional reaction rather than being rational and logical. Weve seen this happen many, many times: Syria, DACA, 2A, Omnibus bill etc. People shriek and assume betrayal before getting the facts. Sad.

Cozette, I was flipping through the channels and landed on Wolf Blitzed interviewing the Border Patrol President. He was explaining that because of the law that says children cannot be detained for more than 20 days before being released, now, since the EO keeps children and so called parents together, they will have to release the entire herd. (He didn’t use the word herd. That was me.)

Actually the Feds are at fault. Parents of all countries are just looking for something better for their own children. Feds and media generated this phony crisis to divert from this week’s Congressional hearings revealing SPYGATE. The Rasmussen report was 4D high level propaganda. Similar to Louis Freeh going into Penn State and getting Americans to hate on a head football coach instead of the CASH FOR KIDS operation that Pennsylvania family courts ran for decades providing Sandusky with children he could diddle.

We are always provided BS of who is to blame …. Center wing 747 fuel tanks, airplane in Queens broke apart in midair and the empennage fell off because of wake turbulence (within a few days of a shoe bomber RR being caught right after 911, etc)

Glad you posted that …. it is important to expose the strategies of those who tried to fix the election and then overturn it.

I see your point in that the Feds have encouraged people to come up illegally, putting themselves and their kids in danger, for over 40 years now.

Now, unfortunately it’s just become a UniPartyMedia Circus, which ensures no solutions and a continuation of the problem.

So if the Feds won’t help them to NOT come here (by enforcing laws and letting people know we’re not falling for this Open Borders crap anymore, overstaying Visas, etc etc etc), then I guess at some point, parents have to take the reigns and protect their kids by not coming.

Alo, I do think that many of these “parents” and trekkers/smugglers are just being to encouraged to jump on the Bandwagon by the DemMSM. That was quite a spectacle they engineered a month back when all the peeps started coming up in large groups, organizing meetings and conferences along the way at Uni’s, etc. Disgusting MSM promoting this sh*t.

Funny thing is, none of these Feds ever told English people to just show up here. I know of two who were here illegally and immigration found them both and deported them and neither of them had anything on their records other than being here illegally. Funny how that happens.

Yeah, I’ve also known a few non- Latino peeps who overstayed their visas and were promptly kicked out (Irish, Israeli).

Guess they hadn’t gotten the memo that *some* people need to follow the laws.

That said, this country is ridiculous in that it’s not absolutely clear that overstaying visas doesn’t fly. Never lived in any other country that did this crap.

Navy, if by ‘Feds’ you mean Soetoro and his admin going south of the border recruiting illegals, yes, I can agree. But all these people have to do is go to an American Embassy or Consulate in their home country and apply to come in legally. Or why can’t they just go to a POE instead of sneaking through the border where the fence is broken? Our current admin needs to do a disinvite tour south of the border and let those ‘wanting a better life’ to try it the legal way. There are many Americans who want a better life too, by not having to pay such high taxes to pay for illegals to have a better life. Clean up your own country or come here legally! /rant off

The President is not going to get his requirements met in any immigration legislation that comes from Congress. That includes the full Monty of the wall, chain migration, e-verify, et al. He knows it and is preparing for an epic budget showdown.

The resistance has successfully deferred/derailed his MAGA immigration agenda because it knows it can with help from the RINOs and carefully chosen courts led by ultra-liberal judges. The anti-Trump strategy of “running the clock” has been an obvious success.

Unfortunately, whatever the President wants immigration-wise, he must implement on his own. I think his frustration meter is pegged, and he will single-handedly use his executive powers to declare the border a threat to national security and implement whatever measures he feels appropriate, in spite of not getting legislative authority to do so. His constant tweeting regarding the dangers associated with an open border is, IMO, seeding the field for his unilateral actions to address the problems that begin there and spread throughout the country.

If/when he does, the left will maximize the use of “lawfare” to delay/stop him, surely with some success, and that will further poison already highly contentious relations between the President and the charlatans in Congress. Moreover, there are presently not enough patriots in either house of Congress to break the logjam of obstructionism.

The President and the country as a whole are mightily invested in the midterm elections. Without keeping the House and flipping at least six (IMO) Senate seats, the fruit of the MAGA legislative initiative will die on the vine.

Okay, the only bill I can find right now is the draft contained within this article:

    https://www.vox.com/2018/6/14/17465378/house-republican-compromise-immigration-bill-paul-ryan-daca

“House Republicans have released a first draft of their new “compromise” immigration bill, the “Border Security and Immigration Reform Act.”

The nearly 300-page bill is one of two that the entire House will vote on next week. It is considered a moderate alternative to the conservative bill proposed by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA).

Most importantly, the new bill provides a pathway to citizenship for young unauthorized immigrants known as DREAMers, allowing legalized immigrants to apply for green cards after five years, based on a points system.

The new bill also contains $25 billion to build a wall on the southern border with Mexico, and it contains a provision that the government can cancel Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals visas if the wall funding is rescinded. It also contains a number of other things that likely won’t be palatable to Democrats and some moderate Senate Republicans, including ending the diversity visa lottery program.”

I am trying to see the forest through the trees here. I’m just going off this summary because I haven’t seen the “Moderate” bill either. I want the perfect solution, which in my mind would be full border security to include Trump’s Wall and no Amnesty for any Illegal Aliens. But if you told me we could trade a pathway for the DREAMers (I hate that term but I’m basing this comment off the summary) for an end to the Visa Lottery and 25 Billion for the Wall, I would consider it. The Wall will curb future illegal immigration dramatically. And I would have to see what “pathway to citizenship” means. If its means tested and the citizenship is at least 10 years down the road, its worth considering.

Bad as that bill may be, it will NEVER pass the Senate.

Consider the great optics of GOP House members having solved the border problem but being stymied by the Senate.

Now think again why President Trump said he would “sign it”

Duh!! Because he knows full well that he will NEVER have to sign it. But by giving the GOP House members the ability to go home and say “we solved the problem, but the Senate f**ked us”, the GOP ensures that they hold the House.

In addition, PT’s emphasis on the fact that we need 60 (but only have 50) means people will be pissed enough to ensure we have a chance to get to 60.

Let’s get real. Until we get rid of the scum in the Senate we will have no comprehensive immigration bill. That is well down the road, perhaps into President Pompeo’s first term.

PT is thinking long term – perhaps it’s time for the Ann Coulter’s of the world to do the same.

        This today from Numbers USA:

As you know from the many alerts we’ve sent you, Speaker Paul Ryan created a much bigger (1.8 million) amnesty bill which is numbered H.R. 6136.

That bill would greatly increase the number of foreign workers that employers can import into the country. It would increase annual legal immigration. And it would likely leave illegal immigration flowing at current or higher rates because it allows employers to hire without running employees through E-Verify.

The storm of opposition from NumbersUSA’s grassroots network has helped create doubts that the bill can pass. Ryan has postponed the vote until at least Friday in hopes of finding enough votes.

        THE BATTLE ISN’T OVER.

Not really. This could be the potential death knell for mom and pop online businesses. Amazon, et al, have the means to track, collect, and report sales taxes to the approximately 9600 tax jurisdictions in the U.S. Small online retailers don’t. This will actually help Amazon. Technological fixes through shopping carts or Woocommerce plug ins may be the solution, but the burden will still be on the seller to comply. Will I still have to file sales tax returns to the individual tax entities? And you can be sure that shopping cart providers will charge us for the service. I am waiting to see how this all works out since enforcement by the states has not yet been defined. Will Congress mandate that the federal govt. coerce online retailers through some means like the IRS. I am highly skeptical that would be constitutional.

        Like

    • bulwarker says:

It still wont fix people not shopping at overpriced brick and mortar stores, and won’t hurt Amazon in the slightest. The only losers here are the little guys, who now will pay more for their goods, and the small time sellers (ebay sellers to be hit hard) that cannot afford to have a full time accountant on staff making sure their sales are in line with the tax laws in all 50 states. Why are we celebrating the state taking more of our money? Why can’t they cut spending? But yeah, cheer this as some kind of victory.

What the reporters fail to mention is that the kitchen staff at the WH and his own properties ALREADY know what he wants and how much, so when they feed him, they provide that. When they are preparing meals for a group of people that the composition varies, they provide meals that are designed for the group as a whole and NOT individualized meals.

When I lived in a small town for a year, I had breakfast at the same place 3-4 times a week every morning. Had the same thing. When I walked in, they would look at me and ask me if I wanted my usual. Once I said yes, didn’t have to say anything else. Why would the staff at the WH or his properties do any different?

Melania is an interesting person. I am quite sure this was a deliberate choice and a pointed message, and of course if was for the press and her detractors and of course they will breathlessly make it about her and that she doesn’t care about the children even though she is going down to Texas to see this place.

She’s smart. She knows the media. She had to have been able to predict how they would react. So, this was deliberate. Possibly so she could get coverage for her trip and possibly so that people could watch the media making horses back ends of themselves which will only make people like her more.

Maybe that seems too convoluted. Maybe people will scoff at the 4D chess aspect of this theory. And maybe they are right. Me? I’d reach in my closet and pull out a jacket and be on my way.

ut Melania is very careful with her clothing choices and they are really deliberate. So this was deliberate. And there’s no way it was meant to say she doesn’t care about the kids. So…
