Las Vegas Shooting Suspect – Stephen Craig Paddock

The man who opened fire on an outdoor concert on the Las Vegas Strip late Sunday, killing at least 58 people and wounding 515 more before he was found dead in a 32nd floor hotel room, has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada, the Clark County sheriff said at a news conference Monday.

♦64-Year-old “Ordinary Guy”

♦No violent criminal background.

♦Paddock was a licensed pilot, owned two airplanes and had no criminal history beyond a citation that was handled normally.

♦Lockheed Martin said in a statement that Paddock worked for a predecessor company of theirs for three years starting in 1985.

♦Prior Residences: California, Florida, Texas, Nevada (reported 27 residences).

♦Paddock lived in Mesquite, Texas, before moving to Mesquite, Nevada, about 82 miles northeast of Las Vegas

♦More than 10 17 rifles were found in the Mandalay Bay hotel room with Paddock.

♦During the time he owned a home in Melbourne Florida (2013-2015), just west of I-95 in Brevard County, Stephen Paddock bragged about going to The Philippines and Europe. (link)

Watch interview with one of Stephen Paddock’s brothers Eric Paddock of Orlando Florida:

Bruce Paddock (brother) told NBC News the family grew up in Sun Valley, California, and Stephen Paddock (shooter) earned money from managing apartment buildings with his Florida-based mother.

After expressing shock that his brother, “just a guy” who liked to go to Vegas and gamble and see some shows and “eat burritos,” had gone on a murder spree from the window of his room at Mandalay Bay hotel, Eric Paddock disclosed something else about Stephen Paddock’s background. It is disturbingShooter’s brother says their father was Patrick Benjamin Paddock, a bank robber who he says was on FBI Most Wanted list:

BENJAMIN “CHROMEDOME” PADDOCK Ex-Tucsonian Makes FBI List Of 10 Most Wanted By GILBERT T. MATTHEWS Citizen Staff Writer Known to his associates as “Chromedome,” “Old Baldy,” and “Big Daddy,” Benjamin Hoskins Paddock is Tucson’s contribution to the FBI’s list of 10 most-wanted fugitives. He made the list after escaping on Dec. 31, 1968, from the Federal Correctional Institution at La Tuna, Tex., where he was serving a 20-year sentence for robbing a Phoenix bank in 1960. Paddock — alias Perry Archer, Benjamin J. Butler, Leo Genstein, Pat Paddock and Patrick Benjamin Paddock — hasn’t been seen or heard from since. At the time of the robbery, Paddock lived in Tucson with his wife and four children. Neighbors said they couldn’t believe that the colorful businessman, then 34 years old, was involved in crime. Paddock sold garbage disposal units here under the business name of Arizona Disposer “Chromedome” Co. He called himself “Big Daddy” in connection with a night club operation on North 1st Avenue. Before selling the disposal units, he operated an East Broadway service station and also sold used cars. Although he was imprisoned for the S4,620 holdup of a branch of the Valley National Bank in Phoenix, Paddock also had been accused of two other bank robberies. Those charges were dropped after his conviction. Federal officers reported that when he was arrested in Las Vegas, Paddock attempted to run down an FBI agent with his car. “Since he has utilized firearms in previous crimes, has employed violence in attempting to evade arrest and has been diagnosed as being psychopathic, Paddock should be considered extremely dangerous,” said Palmer M. Baken Jr., agent in charge of the Phoenix FBI office. Baker described Paddock as being “A glib, smooth-talking man who is egotistical and arrogant.” (link)

The elder Paddock apparently stayed on the lam until 1978, when he was “captured in 1978 in Oregon where he was running a bingo parlor.”  The sins of the father should not, of course, be visited upon the son.  However…(?)

Stephen Paddock lived just 90 minutes outside Las Vegas in the city of Mesquite, where he purchased a home in a retirement community for just over $369,000 in 2015 according to public records.

Paddock lived there with his 62-year-old girlfriend Marilou Danley, the same woman police announced they were seeking to question on Sunday night as they began their investigation into the horrific terror attack.

LV Independent – Police identified the lone suspect of the mass shooting, who they believe killed himself prior to police entering a hotel room where he was located, as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock from Mesquite. Las Vegas Metro Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said early Monday morning Paddock was found with “an excess of 10 rifles.”

Lombardo said police have located a female person of interest named Marilou Danley out of the country and that she was not with Paddock when he checked into the hotel, though Paddock was using some of Danley’s identification. He said police have had conversations with Danley and believe her “at this time not to be involved.” (link)

GIRLFRIEND/”COMPANION”:

Police were looking for Paddock’s roommate, Marilou Danley, described as his companion/girlfriend.

Authorities later said the 62-year-old person of interest was located outside the country and not believed to be involved in the shooting.

She’s just a nice lady who’s his girlfriend,” Paddock’s brother Eric told media. Authorities said they would try to speak with her when she returned to the U.S.

Clark County Commission Chair Steve Sisolak, who has been at Mandalay Bay since midnight, said that Paddock rented two hotel rooms, one facing north and one facing east, and had visited the hotel two other times. Paddock was using Danley’s slot machine card, which is how police got ahold of her name although she was in the Philippines at the time of the incident, Sisolak said. (link)

It appears Stephen Craig Paddock’s companion Marilou Danley is Filipino.

*Note* there is a currently massive conflict inside the Phillipines between radical islamists and the government of Rodrigo Duterte.

The southern Philippines has a long history of conflict, with armed groups including Muslim separatists, communists, clan militias and criminal groups all active in the area.

Three groups comprise the Muslim separatists – the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Abu Sayyaf. The MILF and the Abu Sayyaf are breakaway factions of the MNLF.

The communist insurgency, on the other hand, is propagated by the Communist Party of the Philippines’ (CPP) military wing, the New People’s Army (NPA).

(Reuters) President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday claimed that the Bamboo Triad, which he alleged was behind the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Philippines, had links with the Abu Sayyaf terror group. […] The President on Tuesday said that the illegal drugs operations in the country were taken over by the 14K and Bamboo triads. (link)

REGIONAL DRUG GANGS:

While Duterte’s pronouncements were unclear about the exact nature of the Bamboo triad, the South China Morning Post reported in 2015 on the Taiwan-based United Bamboo triad gang, which they linked to Hong Kong’s 14K triad.

Before Duterte made his revelations, both China and Taiwan issued separate statements saying they had never been the source of illegal drugs in the Philippines.

The SCMP said that the United Bamboo triad, considered as one of the world’s largest organized crime group, was based in Taiwan.  Taiwan, asked Duterte to prove his allegation.  –Understand More Here

REGIONAL ISIS:

On 23 May, 2017, the Armed Forces of the Philippines launched an operation in the city of Marawi to capture or kill Isnilon Hapilon, the declared leader of the Southeast Asian branch of the Islamic State, also known ISIS or ISIL. However, the operation devolved into a battle for the city when security forces met unexpected levels of resistance from the Maute Group, militants who have also aligned themselves with ISIS. By the end of the day, President Rodrigo Duterte had declared martial law across Mindanao, the island on which Marawi sits.

[…]  Longstanding concerns about terrorism in Southeast Asia, recently heightened by the potential return of foreign fighters from Iraq and Syria and the activities of the Abu Sayyaf Group in the Sulu Archipelago, are set to continue. Regional cross-border linkages between armed non-state groups have been boosted by the emergence of ISIS and the subsequent pledges of allegiance to its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi by many of these groups.

The extent of actual links with the ISIS leadership in the Middle East are unclear, and at least initially many groups appeared to use the ISIS name mainly for local gains in recruitment and fundraising. But Philippine authorities believe ISIS has transferred significant funds to Hapilon. The discovery of two Indonesian and two Malaysian fighters among the Maute Group in Marawi was not a surprise, but Lorenzana has said at least two Saudis, a Yemeni, and a Chechen fighter were also among those killed in the city. He added that they were probably ISIS members.  (link)

    • It’s extremely tragic that we are so distrustful of our media and govt (shadow/deep state).

The left will do what ever they think is necessary to achieve their goals.
      The End justifies the means.

The story has been changed with no real hard facts. They came out immediately with name and numbers and where. Almost as if to set the narrative. Then the facts quit and citizens began piecing together theories.

If we are not given truths, I sadly will blame our POTUS. Isn’t he the top cop. I hope my anger subsides so I can be more understanding. It just seems that they withhold info and allow the MSM to run wild. WHY?

We in Oz send our sincere condolences. The amount of victims seem like the casualties of a Vietnam firefight. Oz does not have 2nd amendment or gun culture like the US. A maniac killed 36 people (equivalent per capita of 540 deaths in US) so we were traumatised and yes it was used to drive gun reform after a series of mass shootings. The vast majority of people are happy with restrictions and no mass murders since 1996. The US situation is much more complex so Oz situation not applicable. Apparently in this case the shooter had accumulated about 40 guns probably purchased legally. The Oz laws were aimed at preventing maniacs (not necessarily crooks as they tend to kill crooks) getting weapons so surely there is some room for tightening up regulations because they have failed miserably in this case.

It’s time to acknowledge that the vicious lies and hate being spewed from liberal propaganda outlets like CNN, MSNBC, WAPO and the NYT are dangerous, seditious hate speech. This is what it has led to and there will be more. Just look at the reaction we are seeing from committed leftists. They are going to continue doing what they have been doing since the election. They have no conscience whatsoever.

We have only ourselves to blame. This has been toxicly aggregating in America for 75 years, with special intensity for the last 25. Our “leaders” did nothing to address the rise of cultural Marxism. We fought the Soviets but couldn’t begin to find the nerve and will to do the same with the cultural Marxists in our midst. You can trace the blame back to Reagan, who should have understood the morphing of liberalism into Leftism. Clinton gave the Left unprecedented space and oxygen to grow. Bush was an absolute disaster of nonfeasance and empowered the Left like no one else. And Obama fed and fattened them into the voracious monster they are. Trump wants to believe he can simply be an exceptional American Presidential figure in the classic sense and that his talents and drive and patriotism will carry the day and raise and unify America. This is deeply misguided.

Why aren’t they releasing the hotel footage of him carrying all these bags in. it’s possible to do, but the guy was 64 years old, and all this stuff is heavy. So 15-10 trips with different luggage into his room, and the maids said they saw nothing unusual? There isn’t storage space in rooms that is hidden.

      _____________

An AK47 or AR15 type rifle generally weighs between 7 to 9 Lbs. depending on caliber and other factors (stamped receiver vs. machined receiver AK47s, various added accessories like scopes, etc.).

Ammo is heavy, and it appears that he had a lot of it.

1,000 rounds of .223 / 5.56 (AR15) is about 27 pounds and can fit in a 50 Cal ammo can (roughly the size of a car battery).

      .308 / 7.62 x 51 rounds are much heavier, 1,000 rounds is about 52 Lbs.

7.62 x39 rounds (AK47) are in between, 1,000 rounds weighs about 36 Lbs.

      Ammo weights:

      .
      .

So 10 to 17 rifles (as variously reported) and several thousand rounds of ammo is a lot of stuff, and it’s heavy, but could easily be moved into the hotel room in a few trips or one trip with the assistance of a large wheeled hotel baggage carrier.

It’s the maids that would be a concern. You could keep all that stuff more or less hidden from plain view, but not from a curious maid or one who makes a habit out of searching for valuables in the rooms as he or she is cleaning.

The only way to avoid the risk of being discovered is to refuse maid service for however many days he was in the hotel room (since the 28th of September, IIRC?), or stay in the hotel room during daily maid/cleaning service.

Well, I think I know what it was. It was blind hatred for Trump and everybody that voted for him, spurred on by all the vicious lies being spread by the propaganda media and Democrat operatives (I know, that’s redundant). On Saturday I installed 16 stairs of carpet and pad and 50+- yards of carpet and pad and lugged hundreds of pounds of tools and equipment out of my van, up those stairs and back out to my van. It was in the low 80s outside and in the low 90s inside the new house and I am not on steroids or speed. I am no one special and I assure you to sit on a stool OR stand and pull a gun trigger for 3 hours is so physically easy … in AIR CONDITIONING no less … that either I am a super being or everyone you know is grotesquely overweight, out of shape or hideously lazy! Really … you need to meet more “elderly” people. Actually … you made my day! My ex-girlfriend, who is now my platonic best friend, will love this!

I’m 70 and I still cut and split 4 cord of wood for winter, grow a large garden, and farm a commercial blueberry farm by myself, so this jerk could easily carry some bags to his hotel room IMO. Not a problem! Not suspicious either. People coming and going with bags in a hotel is part of the picture.

        Thank you Boogywstew,
You remind me of my Dad, but in different fields. I remember we all went to Wyoming for our last family vacation (brother was getting married). The guide was worried about my Dad and him being in his late sixties. Afterwards, the guide said my Dad could run circles around thirty year olds without breaking a sweat. He was right.

My Dad was in the woods at least four days a week and he worked dang hard at everything he did out there. He wore me out and I was his kid, but then he always wore me out. Always.

Afterwards, he would always have a yuuge plate of food at dinner and he still kept pretty trim. I could probably get at least three good meals from his plate, and no, I am not exaggerating.

What I remember the most though was his love for the outdoors and the respect he had for our Creator. He saw things many of us would’ve missed.

I know if my Dad would’ve read this he would’ve been laughing as well. And he would’ve pointed out the nice air conditioning in the room too. And who knows, he could’ve napped through the play, mine would’ve if it was boring.

None of us here know how active the murderer was in his daily routines. His age certainly does not have to be a factor, and we should all know better than that. Unless of course we have poor examples in our young life.

I can’t wait to hear your good friend getting a good laugh out of this. 😁

        Be well and stay smiling,
        Ma’iingankwe

The year I graduated high school, my family drove in our 1967 Ford Falcon Van ( an Econoline with windows) from Northport, Long Island to Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming for our mountaineering vacation. My dad retired in 1978 to Lander, Wyoming where he lived out his life. He taught himself to ride and bought a horse and earned money working as a cowboy on round ups and also worked as a drummer in various country-rock bands in Wyoming. He was probably more proud of designing his own livestock brand which was officially registered than anything else!

Its SUR 13 Worst gang in California

US police have scored a major success in dismantling one of the most violent gangs in California – the Sureños gang.

More than 600 suspects have been arrested by the Homeland Security Department’s largest crackdown on street gangs, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in the US said on Thursday.

It was just targeted by Homeland The arrests were made as part of a month-long crackdown on street gangs in almost 200 cities across the country.

Authorities targeted 175 orgainsed gangs, including the notorious Sureños gang, known as the “Sur 13”.

The gang, which is said to be recruiting new blood at its fastest rate ever, specialises in murder, extortion and drug trafficking – leaving a trail of bloodshed across California in its wake.

It has risen from a California-based operation to having tentacles stretching the length and breadth of America.

Heavily tatooed, inherently racist and armed to the teeth, Sureños, which in Spanish means ‘south’, consists almost exclusively of Hispanic Americans and has fought a deadly long-running street war against a long list of rivals: Norteños, Nuestra Familia, Fresno Bulldogs, Bloods, Latin Kings, Puro Tango Blast, Los Zetas, and the Asian Boyz.

Brother seems a bit unconvincing to me. Like he is enjoying the media attention — couple of big smiles, plus forced-seeming earnestness.

  32. Has anyone posted this you tube re flashes from a lower floor? I couldn’t tell anything from the original. This one is crystal clear. The guy photo-ing is a cab driver, I think at the airport. He estimates the shooter is about the 10th floor.

Another poster already mentioned this – enough with the one photo with the eyes closed. Let’s see a recent photo of Mr. Paddock with eyes open, at least.

So according to various quoted sources, this event took between 1 and 3 hours?

If this is true, it is the best argument for honest, law-abiding citizens to be armed I’ve ever heard! What were the police doing for those 1 to 3 hours?

“When seconds count, the police are just HOURS away.” W.T.F.Over…

So, this guy is a bit of a geek/misfit, probably wore a pen protector at some point in the past, he has existed off the grid for the last couple of years, has an unhealthy obsession with guns, arms himself to the teeth, breaks windows, shoots many innocent people…many more than seems possible for one person, the victims are trapped with no escape, he then shoots himself as LEO arrives, and is found with another person’s identification at the scene. If they don’t release video of Paddock carrying all of that weaponry into the hotel I would say that this Sandy Hook on steroids. Will they blame Asperger’s syndrome? Will Las Vegas have all of this come crashing down on them later? What the h%ll is going on in this country? It’s no wonder I never leave my humble abode.

    Dear Sundance and Treeper crew,
My husband is a 6 times combat veteran and he listened to a video we found in the comment section on gateway pundit. This was taken by someone at the scene during the shooting. My husband told me there distinctly TWO guns being fired. They are full automatic, which are illegal, unless you have a very difficult to obtain federal fire arm permit. You cannot operate two of these guns together at one time, yet the guns are being used almost simultaneously. He said you need to be behind them to hold them in place and to aim. He doesn’t believe you could get off this many rounds with a lone gun man. What do you think? I have lost complete faith in my government. Except for Trump.

The husband says in further commentary listening to the video that they are belt fed machine guns. Too many rounds consecutively for thirty round magazines. No way you can fire these two guns at same time!!! You must have a federal permit for this, or you are a dealer or classics weapons collector (still have to have permit).

I agree, and, it sounds as if guns of different calibers are being fired at the same time in the second burst.

Sounds like a .223 in the first burst — around a 100 round dump. Pause. Then, a second heavier sounding weapon (probably 30 caliber) with a slower cyclic rate and heavier sounding slower velocity round opens up.

A second gun joins in this burst. It has the higher velocity, higher cyclic rate, and lighter round report of the gun in the first burst.

Can’t be echo because the echo would be of lower pitch and frequency than the gun which starts off the second burst. Instead it has the opposite: higher frequency and a faster cyclic rate (which means it can’t be an echo).

The videographer did not move during the recording, so, you can eliminate his movements effecting the sound. The shooter could have moved. But, I doubt it makes any difference the little he moved at that range.

Maybe my old ears are tricking me. But, either there were two gunman, or, tricky echos making him sound as if he used two machine guns at once.

Hear me out on this… This guy did not do this, but who did, and why? Who were the two Hispanics running through the crowd stating everyone was about to die? Where are they, and how did they know? To me, this screams Mexican Cartel. I’m just connecting dots here… Las Vegas just legalized pot, which did cut into the Cartels profits. And then we have the border, Trump is raising all sort of Hell down there, further cutting into the Cartel profits in drugs and trafficking. Do the Cartels not have the fire power we saw used in Vegas? They have explosives, the have surveillance ability and the know how and they have the military personal to pull off an operation like this, many trained by our own US Military. This makes more sense to me than a 64 yo retiree that spends his day at the corner pub sipping .50 shells of beer and playing video poker. Just saying.

And what a message to send to Trump and Sessions.

Looks to me like Thomas Wictor has wrapped this up. The shooter’s simply a chip off the old block, literally: he’s the son of a psychopathic bank robber. Read the whole thread.

There are probably reasons yet to be found as to why he did what he did, but that he did it is no surprise.

May God look after his victims, and may they rest in peace.

The brother says his father’s name is Patrick Benjamin Paddock, but the FBI poster says it’s Benjamin Hoskins Paddock. The readout on the FBI poster says Patrick Benjamin Paddock was just one of his many aliases. Why would a son not know his own fathers real name?

People staying in the hotel should be coming public with what the heard. Imagine staying in the room above or below. The rounds would have been ear drum hurting loud.

Why have no hotel personal come out with their stories?

EXPANDING on Ms Molly Anna’s thought, who/how could anyone block out 3-4 floors of rooms, if this is a valid scenario. Someone thru earlier threads said Middle East, was it Qatar???, connection to ownership of hotel….THAT is who could do it.

Is this a warning shot to T45 and his goals for MidEast Peace. My details may be inaccurate but the possibility of players involved is worthy of note. Also T45s crack down on drugs and those involved with that trade….just some random thoughts for those with more knowledge and smarter than I.

Assume the brother is sincere. He did help him move all his stuff to his last current residence. Where did he get all the guns? Brother stated: “maybe one long gun”. Gun purchases should have a rich paper trail. Even supposing these were “Echo” equipped AR-15s. If what he had was full auto ordinance… then we have a full blown conspiracy.
