Canadian Economist: “We are so screwed” … “This is like Godzilla Trump -vs- Bambi Trudeau”…

…”and we will win, and you will win, and we will keep on winning, and eventually you will say we can’t take all of this winning, …please Mr. Trump  …and I will say, NO, we will win, and we will keep on winning”. ~ Donald Trump

THE TRUMP EFFECT – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has already announced the Canadian government’s willingness to renegotiate NAFTA.   In addition, President Trump’s energy agenda plans to triple domestic U.S. energy production, no carbon tax, and the Trump tax proposal drops the corporate tax rate to 15%.

One Canadian economist realizes exactly what this confluence of events adds up to:

Just think of the whole wack-o-bird industry of pharma sales where Americans have to buy our drugs from Canada to get a reasonable cost. O’care had us locked in at the highest cost. Great video.

I’m glad he is doing better. I think there must be multiple ways actually having “fair trade” instead of a rigged system our lives are going to improve.

        • I think people misunderstand Trump Stumpers on trade…..We want free trade, but understand that if free trade is really free, then it must apply equally to both trading partners. It is not free trade when we exercise it with China, but China puts import quotas and tariffs on American goods…..

So, we must implement fair trade…..what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, but with this goal in mind…… It won’t be long before both the goose and the gander come to understand that free trade is in the best interests of both parties….. And there we will go.

Stories like yours are the reason I want to punch the winners in the Ocare debacle in the face when they dare defend it to me.
I am so glad your husband avoided disaster.
I have a relative who can’t use a generic of a drug for mental health problems. A woman for whom daily life is a constant struggle has the added struggle with the government, the insurance company, and the pharmacy every time her medicine needs a refill. At least it won’t directly kill her.

Glad he is doing better, too. For decades, American pharmaceuticals have footed the bill for developing and manufacturing life saving drugs only to have socialist countries then sell/dispense the drugs at a lower cost than Americans have to pay. It’s like NATO. We pay for their defense so they can then give their citizens free stuff while at the same time criticizing us for not giving our citizens free stuff. This has got to stop!

My Dad’s doctor liked to switch him to all the newest drugs…..$$$…..I know she gets paid to do it, too.
Last time, my Dad had a reaction to a new stupid, unnecessary cholesterol drug. Almost killed him…Hives, hair falling out….ICU.
8 weeks later (including 3 weeks of rehab), he’s great.
He goes to my doctor now, as well. His old one is lucky to be a girl, or she’d have had her neck wrung.
Moral: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, especially for elderly folks.

I am on many medications. There are a few where name brand is an absolute must, and I pay dearly for those.

My husband has a rare type of Muscular Dystrophy. Because it is a rare disease, very little research has been done on it. Because very little research has been done on it, there are no medications approved by the FDA for this disease, except for one, therefore, insurance will not pay for any medications to improve his quality of life, or to help arrest the disease, because of not being FDA approved. What a crock of BS!!! The drugs that can help with his quality of life are thousand of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars, thanks to the gouging of the drug companies.

One such drug is used on pig farms, to put muscle on pigs. When people with muscle diseases started using this drug, it was $40 per vial {the size of an insulin vial}. When the drug companies found out people with muscle diseases were using this drug, the cost went up to $2,400.00 per vial.

The only drug that insurance pays for, for my husband’s disease, is $30 thousand per month – $360 thousand per year. We pay 20 percent – $6 thousand per month. We make payments. We will never pay it off. The drug companies are gouging.

Other drugs that have been around for years and years, and with many generics on the market, have increased in price by up to 1000 percent – yes, generics drug costs for the consumer have sky rocketed. A good example of gouging is the EpiPen.

I think I see what’s happened in the world. The progs had to dumb down America so the rest of the world could compete. Kinda what they did with the education system.
Now they see it didn’t work, so they are scrambling to find at least one smart person to lead them. None can be found. Panic time.

They told us they needed the H1B workers because not enough Americans were studying in the “tech” fields, and then they shut down ITT Tech schools because there weren’t enough jobs in those fields for all the graduates.
Simultaneously, the community colleges, the ones Obama wants to make “free”, stepped up to take in all the orphaned students from the closure of the for profit competition.

This is incredibly frightening that this whole carbon tax crap is something that is so universally accepted and expected when we know that this who carbon tax crap is just a steaming pile. We all know this carbon tax is just another avenue for the globalists to get rich.

Countries like China are great at copying our technology. Once we close our borders we can identify and eject Chinese industrial spies. Won’t be long and their technology will become obsolete as we Excell. Remember the Clintons gave China a huge leg up with technology.

Well, it’s not even some ‘spies’ taking the industry – like Sundance said about Boeing earlier. China forces business to relocate to China to enter the China market, and then sucks them dry of their innovation and technology before replacing them with Chinese variants.

Breaking that cycle with proper trade policies will go a long way towards stopping that.

I love hearing when our international trading partners are afraid of what USA can do in the business world but they shouldn’t. They need to get on the bandwagon & will also reap massive awards. When we get our sh*t together we’re like a tsunami that sweeps the crap away.

After to listening to reasonable Daddy Trump in their 1st face-to-face meeting next yr, Bambi Trudeau will follow the Trump train for Canada’s sake. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mexico does too.

My DH and I live in Florida and the back of our home is on the 10th fairway of a golf course. This past Saturday our precious poodle got up suddenly and went to the patio slider and then began barking that “come here and see” bark. There was a golfer that had gotten out of his golf cart and was standing by our Trump sign (yes, we still have it outside). DH went out and spoke with the guy who said he was from Canada and was thrilled that Trump won. He said several of his friends and neighbors also thrilled and hope Canada will have an about face in the coming years. Long story short, he asked if he could have our Trump sign. He left a very happy Canadian with a Trump sign for a souvenir. Had we not had another sign, he probably wouldn’t have left so happy.

Welp, that’s what you get when you elect your leader based on thinking he is good looking or he says “nice” things that appeal to your emotions but seems to have no real clue about how things really work.

You don’t select the leader based on whether you like them. You select the leader based on whether they are best for the job.

From everything I’ve read and heard about Trudeau, it is an absolute joke that he was elected as Prime Minister. It’s the equivalent of electing that Justin Boober kid.

Actually this is what all “mature” societies/cultures seem to do. After Churchill SAVED England, once England was secure, they kicked him out and got themselves a nice, safe, little liberal who would play well with others (not run scissors). Once Thatcher saved England a second time, they kicked her out and got themselves a “more liberal” PM.
Canada was in trouble so they elected Harper who got them out of trouble so now they can elect a (second) Trudeau so they can bask in the UN’s and Third World’s “approval”. The USA does the same thing. States (and cities) elect a liberal who breaks the bank and screws up the state so then they bring in an exterminator (Guliani for instance in NYC) and once he/she fixes the mess, they go back to electing the same kind of policies who made the mess in the first place (DeBlasio). VA had Tim Kaine who made a mess of the state so we elected McConnell who fixed things and then because he looked like he might have a career on the national scene ran afoul of the politicized DOJ (he broke no VA laws — it was the feds who prosecuted him). After McConnell, we get McAuliff who then sets loose felons to vote with a stroke of the pen. NJ has done the same thing — After Corzine screwed up the state they brought in Christie who fixed things as well as he could, so now they’ll bring back a liberal to make another mess. It’s human nature. The only places this doesn’t happen is in the Third World who are always run by dictators and totalitarians who are supplanted by other dictators and totalitarians. C’est la vie
