ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Multiple sources are confirming to KMOX news that Phyllis Schlafly, has died.

Schlafly founded the Eagle Forum in 1972, a pro-family conservative group focusing heavily on social issues — it has about 80,000 members and, as of this week, Schlafly was still president.

“Phyllis Schlafly spent an astounding 70 years in public service of her fellow Americans,” said the Eagle Forum in a statement. “Her focus from her earliest days until her final ones was protecting the family, which she understood as the building block of life. She recognized America as the greatest political embodiment of those values. From military superiority and defense to immigration and trade; from unborn life to the nuclear family and parenthood, Phyllis Schlafly was a courageous and articulate voice for common sense and traditional values.”

“America has lost a great stateswoman, and we at Eagle Forum and among the conservative movement have lost a beloved friend and mentor, who taught and inspired so many to fight the good fight in defense of American values,” said Eunie Smith, Eagle Forum’s first Vice President in a statement. “I have personally lost a dear friend of over forty years.”

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in 1944 — her masters from Radcliffe College in 1945 — and a J.D. from Washington University in 1978.

Schlafly’s organization has been split this presidential election — Schlafly supported Donald Trump, though many board members disagreed. She maintained her leadership of the organization.  (read more)

I am curious – does anyone know if she and her daughter ever reconciled after the Cruzbot debacle?

As of this time, no cause of death has been specified in the news. At age 92, not many people would question the situation. I would.

First, we have Justice Scalia. Now, after Phyllis opposed Paul Ryan and supported Donald Trump, she suddenly passes away with a couple of months left before the presidential election. She was rallying conservatives around Trump and would have continued to do so right up until election day.

A group, including her daughter, tried to wrest control of Eagle Forum from Phyllis.

The “One World”, “New World Order” people think nothing of taking someone out if that person is in the way.

DNC staffer Seth Rich was shot to death on the street but not robbed. He is considered to possibly be the guy who spilled the beans to WikiLeaks about the DNC.

So with Justice Scalia’s demise, one of the two most conservative justices on the Supreme Court is gone and we are left with a lot of four to four decisions which result in lower court rulings standing. With Phyllis gone, the most credible conservative voice in the nation is now silent. Both of these within a span of less than seven months in a presidential election year.

Between Justice Scalia, Seth Rich and Phyllis Schlafly you’re going to have a hard time convincing me that it’s all coincidence. Notice that while Justice Scalia and Phyllis were older, Seth Rich was only 27 and he is the only one who suffered an overtly traumatic death. Couldn’t attribute his death to old age and illness!

  6. Eternally grateful for this woman. May she rest in peace.

But it’s important to remember and to remind people, during her final years, Ted Cruz and his supporters tried to destroy her.

In any other election year I would have been saddened, but not surprised.

I am saddened, but based upon the nasty fighting and other mysterious deaths, there will be a nagging doubt in my mind that she died of “natural causes”.

Prayers to the family and friends of this lovely lady.

70+ years of undying effort for conservatism and the GOP, suffering fools and attacks from all sides with a smile. Bullets to bailouts, she’s seen it all. That’s endurance. The very definition of a happy warrior.

Any of us would be so fortunate as to claim such a legacy. Like Lady Thatcher, she can dispense with the concerns of what was left undone, and enjoy her reward. And a great reward it must be.
