The Insurgency Has Only Just Begun – We Absorb Vilification and Ridicule As Fuel…

nro cover“What so frightens the conservative movement about Trump’s success is that he reveals just how thin the support for their ideas really is. His campaign is a rebuke to their institutions. It says the Republican Party doesn’t need all these think tanks, all this supposed policy expertise. It says look at these people calling themselves libertarians and conservatives, the ones in tassel-loafers and bow ties. Have they made you more free? Have their endless policy papers and studies and books conserved anything for you? These people are worthless. They are defunct. You don’t need them, and you’re better off without them.” (link)

There’s a level of anger far deeper and more consequential than expressed rage or visible behavior – It is called “Cold Anger“!

Cold Anger does not need to go to violence.  For those who carry it, no conversation is needed.  You cannot poll or measure it; and even those who carry it avoid discussion; and that decision has nothing whatsoever to do with any form of correctness.

Cold Anger is not hatred, it is far more purposeful.  Cold Anger absorbs betrayal silently, often prudently.   Cold Anger is not driven to act in spite of itself; it drives a reckoning.

Cold Anger perceives deception the way a long-term battered spouse absorbs the blows in the hours prior to a pre-planned exit; with purpose.  Delicate sensibilities are dispatched like a feather in a hurricane.

.….the insurgency has only just begun !

Cold Anger absorbs consistent vilification and ridicule as fuel.  This sensibility does not want to exist, it is forced to exist inside otherwise unwilling hosts – who also refuse to be destabilized by it.

Deliberate intent and prudence will insure avoiding failure.  The course, is thoughtful vigilance;  a strategy devoid of emotion.

Foolishness and betrayal of our nation have served to reveal dangers within our present condition.  Misplaced corrective action, regardless of intent, is neither safe nor wise.

Cold Anger is not driven to act in spite of itself – it drives a reckoning.

The Government Party isn’t working anymore, so let’s go straight to full-on fascism? I think we need to explore other avenues for our “cold anger.”

Hell, if we’re gonna turn the country over the the first megalomaniacal billionaire who says he wants it, I’d just go ahead and vote for Bloomberg first. At least with him I know what’ll happen.

  3. warmac9999 says:

I prefer righteous anger because it takes us all back to the founding of the country. However, cold anger as described is certainly appropriate.

This is folly. It’s one thing to be angry. I get the anger. It’s another thing entirely to be both angry and stupid, which is what a vote for Donald Trump, famous reality TV star and enthusiastic Obama voter, would be. The GOP has a deep bench this election cycle, and there are other more qualified, capable and knowledgeable people running for the presidency, people with genuine conservative bona fides such as Cruz or Fiorina or–yes–even Rubio. But no, you want Trump, a guy who gamed eminent domain to evict innocent homeowners so he could build a limousine garage, a guy who said his time in military prep school is equivalent to real military service, a guy who made remarks laden with sexual innuendo about his own daughter. Geez Louise.

History repeats itself. You Trump supporters are an uncanny reprise of the Know Nothings of 1856, who split the vote and gave the election to the Democrats. On the plus side, James Buchanan’s election eventually led to counter-reaction and Lincoln. On the bad side, it also gave us the Civil War.

And that bit about being vilified and looked down upon and ridiculed? All deserved.

“genuine conservative bona fides” = illegal aliens running amok, Common Core carp, muslim terrorists running amok, fewer jobs for Americans, turning the U.S. into a third world country. 😛

      • Like I wrote, I get the anger. I just don’t see how on God’s green earth anyone could think Donald Trump is the solution to any of those problems.

        • auscitizenmom says:

Who else even says they are going to try to straighten the mess out? They all offer more of the same.

As if “on God’s green earth” or anywhere else, any of the other presidential candidates, National Socialist (“D”) or Rotarian Socialist (“R”), offers any prospect other than inexorably worsening destruction of our republic, our society, and our future as a people?

I like to think of The Donald as a sort of human broken bottle being shoved forcibly by the American populace up into the delicate membranes within our political establishment’s nether parts. If we get nothing else out of his candidacy – and, let us hope, his presidency – it will be something on the order of what a sexual assault victim appreciates when she sees her rapist getting kicked repeatedly in the generative apparatus.

I am one of those anyone. I am finding the people that echo your views, are mostly people who have listened to the news, GOP Establishment anti-Trump, instead of actually listening to TRUMP speak and read his position papers on his website: Have listened to his many speeches? Have you read his position papers? If not, you are listening to the scam job of the Globalist-controlled news media.
Including Hewitt, Mark Levin, etc. even Rush lately. The only one sticking to the truth so far is Alex Jones…

“The GOP has a deep bench this election cycle, and there are other more qualified, capable and knowledgeable people running for the presidency, people with genuine conservative bona fides” This is sarcasm, right? The GOP has failed the people of this nation who bought into their platform. The candidates running against Trump are just more of the same. I, personally, have voted in presidential elections for 30 years. I have always voted for the GOP candidate. What has that produced? Lies, inaction, and a failure to govern effectively. Trump is the only candidate who represents a choice different than those I’ve been making for 30 years, but still holds some of the same values or beliefs I hold. TRUMP2016

Perot isn’t going to fix anything – being a conservative means belief in smaller government by lowering taxes, reducing government spending (which is always mal-invested), and eliminating useless regulations (which are always intrusive). Somehow, just like in 1992, the MSM is convincing the simple-minded a billionaire liberal will “fix things” – you’re being triangulated and astroturfed into believing Trump is actually capable of “fixing things” – the only fix America needs is for the government elites (read: Bush country club Republics or GOPe if you like) to get out of the way to unleash the private sector. The fight within the party is to purge the country club variety with real conservatives (NRO hasn’t been conservative since WFB) who, like Reagan before them, want to limit the size of government – Trump/Perot won’t do that. He just believes he can do it better.
Vote for Cruz, Save the Republic……

    • auscitizenmom says:

It appears you haven’t been paying attention. Cruz is just another sleight of hand politician.

    • John, it is needless to explain to us the meaning of conservatism. Most of us here are Republicans and have been for decades. We’ve been trying – with you – to reform the party just as you insist, to no avail. Please cease your sanctimonious lecture, it is nothing we were ourselves not saying only four years ago.
It is also doubtful that Trump is ‘simple minded’. Many of his core supporters are more conservative than him, but he is a builder capitalist among other strong conservative traits. He is quite conservative enough for this election.

Well stated David. I’m not voting for Trump because he does or does not fit the television definition of conservative. I’ve voted for people fitting that definition for decades. Fail. I’m voting for someone more in line with the things I admire, and hope for in this nation.

        • ” television definition of conservative” – excellent!
The ‘talking heads’ like George Will have given us a bad name.

          • John says:

David – Thanks for your input – unlike many of the others on here you’re at least trying to explain your position without resorting to some type of “shame-insulting” as if anyone beyond the age of pre-teen would care about being called a troll…..I understand the anger – I’m angry/disappointed in RINOs/GOPe – but I’m also old enough to remember when they tried to shove Ford-then-Bush down our throats – so what I’m not about to do is vote for a guy who has been the epitome of establishment his entire career in business – taking position diametrically opposed to small government conservatism including eminent domain, TARP, Auto-stimulus, etc. etc. – He is Ross Perot – a megalomaniacal billionaire convince he could be president by a MSM interested in helping the liberal, big-government Democrats. Keep insulting Cruz but the establishment hates him for a reason – he actually stands for Reagan conservatism.
As for the troll comments, I’d rather be a troll than an Obama-esque astroturfer who can’t articulate my position without copy-n-pasting from blogs likely contrioled by Clinton’s triangulating campaign…..

Cruzbots are not interested in facing Cruz’s abject lies: low interest Wall Street “loans” repaid with political contributions from rubes, his hidden work to pass TPA with less than 60 votes in the senate, his support for amnesty for illegal immigrants, to cite just a few. Liars lose large. So will your beloved liar from Canada. And how about releasing his hold on his mother Canadian papers?

  8. I for one, would love to have a look at Cruz’s Princeton admissions paperwork.

Did the sleazy little creep dodge all kinds of entrance requirements and fees by registering as a foreign student using his Alberta birth certificate and the cache of being the son of a Cuban political refugee?

Make no mistake — and most here already knows this, Cruz is a slime. From the day his mammy dropped him on Canadian soil to the day he “forgot” he was a Canadian citizen 43 years later, everything about this dookie is dirty.
