FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas –  A 29-year-old man remains in the hospital after getting shot in the leg in his own driveway.  His longtime girlfriend, who does not wish to be identified, told Channel 2 he had surgery Saturday morning and he will be OK.

The 29-year-old was working on his truck outside his Mission Bend home in the 15500 block of Beechnut Street on Friday evening.

Home surveillance video shows an African-American man approach the boyfriend, then pull out a gun and force him to the ground. Surveillance video shows the suspect dragging the boyfriend across his porch.

The victim’s girlfriend was at work during the incident.

“I didn’t even think it was real. It’s just crazy,” the victim’s girlfriend said. “The guy was threatening him, saying, ‘I’m going to kill you inside the house.’” the girlfriend said.

As the victim tried to prevent the man from getting inside their house, deputies said the suspect shot him in the leg. Surveillance shows the boyfriend break free, then roll across his front lawn to get drivers on the street to notice what is going on.

The suspect then walked away as if nothing happened.
