Matthew Apperson was ordered to turn in any guns to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours od his release and to have no contact with Zimmerman.

“I don’t care whether you’ve been shopping at Publix for two hours and have a full cart of groceries or whatever. you see Mr. Zimmerman walking through that door, you’re the one that has to leave,” the judge said.

Apperson’s attorney wouldn’t comment on the judge’s order.

I guess NeJame was bluffing about Zimmerman vs Apperson. Now he’s a bit miffed.

Hmm. Nelson huh? Now we shall see if she’s biased.

For George the only thing I can say is body cam. Get one so it’s clear if this guy approaches you, who is at fault.

Why didn’t they charge him with attempted murder?

I recall Alan Dershowitz opining in regard the Michael Dunn case (shot youths/ loud music in car) that attempted murder charge comes with very high burden of proof. eg there has to be very specific intent to kill. In the Dunn case, Dersh was saying that just firing (wildly) into a car full of youths was NOT attempted murder,
I’ll see if the point is made in a vid I have somewhere of Dersh interview.

      • Chip Bennett says:

…eg there has to be very specific intent to kill.

You mean, something like the accused saying, “I hope I got him this time” immediately after the shooting?

      • rumpole2 says:

Well actually Dersh was wrong in his prediction of case outcome.. Dunn was found guilty of attempted murder (x3) eventually.. but his legal point stands.
With Debbie running the show.. strict legal bets are off anyway

        see vid at 1:10

    • Burnt Toast says:

Because Apperson said he was only trying to take a little of the top?
(just kidding – don’t know one admits to taking a head shot but not trying to kill)

I thought L’il Debbie was moved to civil court? What’s she doing in the circuit court again?

      I thought exactly the same.

Now I wonder if the rotation announcement was meant to deflect criticism (namely ours) and the chief judge had no intention of moving her in the first place.

I wonder if there are actually any other judges in the entire county. At this point, it is entirely implausible that Seminole County + Zimmerman = Judge Nelson happens by random chance.

Nettles18 and the last Z/man post linked the judge roster:

          Click to access Judgepublic.pdf

Looks like they have only four (x4) CR (criminal?) judges for that area.

By itself there is a 1:64 change that Z’man when get the same judge three times in a row.
(I found the creation date on the pdf is 30 MAR 2015)

However, Catching Nelson for a criminal just when she coincidentally gets moved from civil to criminal court, then just happening to get her again as she is moved back to civil judge for a civil suit, then again back in criminal court… too much coincidence…

Does a victim have any rights to have a case moved to a different venue?

that was too much of a coincidence. Probably rigged. The right lawyer with the right influence can arrange that. I have no faith in our justice system. The rot is permeating from the top down.

Court challenge for 911 call release = Nelson
Court case in State of FL vs Zimmerman = Nelson
Court case in Zimmerman vs. NBC = Nelson
Court case in State of FL (Zimmerman) vs Apperson = Nelson

Boy she sure does appear to be a Zimmermagnet.

Then again, maybe she can emotionally relate to Matthew Apperson.

She may well be the only judge too stupid to realize the live political grenade any zimmermann case holds for the ruling judge. It may well be that the other 3 qualified judges maneuver themselves out of the running more effectively than Judge Nelson is capable of. She certainly didn’t blow anyones socks off here with her sharp legal mind in any of her previous zimmermann work

  11. How is this not attempted murder?

What’s the difference between civil and circuit court?

  13. czarowniczy says:

As an aside, the fact that he was ordered to turn over any guns to the SO is interesting. If he had any guns that weren’t in the Federal or state databases – they are now. Also, I’ll take a beer bet on if the SO fires a shot or two out of each gun he turns in and checks against and enters each into the IBID database. Not as if a less-than-aboveboard officer might sequester a spare shell from a firing for a latter day throw down – no no no, that would/could never happen. Just coming up with story lines for a future novel.
“He was also charged with one count of firing a deadly missile into an occupied conveyance.” Geez, sounds like the POtuS’s drone program.

??Nelson?? This is the straw that broke the camel’s back… I am sure everything I’ve learned about MY country was a fairy tale.. up is down left is right self-defense is premeditated murder, being shot at is somehow the innocent target’s fault

The DA will be the one presenting the case right? So how much involvement will Don West and GZ actually have with Nelson?

    • bonnibrai says:

In the Z-man case there was a lot of things she wouldn’t allow the jury to see..T-Von’s prior behavior etc.. Don’t know if she can have the same kind of influence here.ie.Apperson’s record.

  20. mimbler says:

As I recall, George’s bail was much higher and he was a stable member of the community that was obviously innocent. Just shows how crooked the courts are down there when this admittedly crazy person that confessed to attempting to shoot George is let loose on a 35000 dollar bond. He only had to put up 3500 dollars to a bondsman,
