Texas-Based Carnival Magic Cruise Ship Stuck At Sea With 4,633 Passengers and Dallas Healthcare Worker With Ebola Symptoms – Belize Refuses Port Entry – Belizeans Saying “Sink Ship” – Armed Belize Coast Guard Keeping Ship At Sea…

• Belize Prime Minister, Dean Barrow, has told U.S. State Department the cruise ship will not be allowed to port. • Dallas healthcare worker who did lab work for Patient Zero, Thomas Duncan, is on board, exhibiting Ebola symptoms and quarantined. • Armed Belize Coast Guard refuse to allow docking for emergency airlift.  • Belizean Harbor pilot also not permitted to leave ship. • Belize Government Issues Press Release.

Overnight – U.S. Media not yet reporting on the severity of the incident – Galveston, Texas-based Carnival Magic cruise ship anchored at Stake Bank off Belize’s coast.

update-1The presence of a woman who helped care for an Ebola patient who died has left a Caribbean cruise ship unable to dock at foreign tourist ports and is now heading back to Texas.

One passenger said the announcement of the woman’s presence has created “utter panic” on the Carnival Magic cruise ship, while others remained outwardly unfazed, sunbathing by the outdoor pool.

“People are scared,” passenger Jon Malone told ABC News as the ship was waiting miles off shore from Cozumel, Mexico. “I’ve seen people crying.”  (read more)

BELIZE – Reports tonight are that two individuals possibly infected with the Ebola virus are in Belizean waters. Local TV station Channel 7 monitored in the capital City Of Belmopan tonight, reported having credible reports that a couple from a Texas-based cruise ship presently anchored off Belize City, is on a ship tender, unable to return to the cruise ship, while being refused entry to Belize City to catch an air ambulance awaiting at the International Airport to take them to the their country of origin, the U.S.A.

The television station in its broadcast tonight said Belize health authorities contacted tonight have so far refused to deny or confirm the report. The patient exhibiting Ebola symptoms has been confirmed to be a nurse at a Dallas hospital traveling with her husband.

Later tonight in breaking news, Channel 5 Belize reported that it has:

“Confirmed with representatives of the Ministry of Health that they have indeed received a report that there is at least one passenger on board the cruise ship, Carnival Magic, showing symptoms similar to that of the Ebola virus. According to the report made to MOH, the person exhibiting the symptoms did not come ashore today.

carnival_magic 3

The ship is reportedly carrying 3652 passengers and a total population of 4633 persons.

“The Carnival Magic departed from Galveston Texas on Sunday, October 12 arrived in Mahogany Bay, Honduras on Wednesday October 15 and arrived in Belize this morning, Thursday October 16.

“The ship was scheduled to leave Belize en route to Cozumel this evening at 5pm. However, it is still anchored in Belizean waters near State Bank Caye.”

“We have also have confirmed that the Belize Coast Guard has been deployed to prevent anyone from leaving the ship; including the Belizean pilot on board.”

In a press conference held last weak, Belize’s Ministry of Health stated that in the event of an outbreak of Ebola in Belize, no patient would be allowed into the commercial capital Belize City, where most of the Belize government cabinet officials reside.

The MOH stated that the government hospital, the Karl Heuesner Memorial Hospital has but one Intensive Care Unit and they would not allow this to be overrun with Ebola patients. Belize is a a very poor country on the Yucatan Peninsula that depends to a large extent on tourism and grants from Venezuela for its foreign exchange income. Belize City is currently the main port of call for cruise ships.

update-1Update: Channel 7 news anchor Indira Craig has posted on her Facebook page that Belize Prime Minister Dean Barrow in a callous move in view of very close Belize-U.S. relations, has denied entry into Belize for the stricken U.S. nationals to be air lifted to the U.S.A. for treatment:

“Talks have concluded with the PM and The US State Department officials. Belize WILL NOT BE GRANTING ACCESS to the suspected passengers to have entry onto our shores. An official release will be sent out shortly by government followed by a press conference to be held tomorrow.  Passports have been returned so this scare has ended.”

In a late night official press release issued by the Belize Press Office, the Belize government offered its version of the Belize Ebola Incident.

It stresses that while the patient did not disembark in Belize, it does not address the question that thousands of cruise ship passengers that may have had contact with the patient(s) did in fact disembark and tour Belize City today:

Belmopan. October 16, 2014. The Government of Belize was contacted today by officers of the U.S. Government and made aware of a cruise ship passenger considered of very low risk for Ebola. The passenger had voluntarily entered quarantine on board the ship and remains free of any fever or other symptoms of illness.

The Ebola virus may only be spread by patients who are experiencing fever and symptoms of illness and so the US Government had emphasized the very low risk category in this case. Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, the Government of Belize decided not to facilitate a U.S. request for assistance in evacuating the passenger through the Phillip Goldson International Airport.

The GOB reassures the public that the passenger never set foot in Belize and while we remain in close contact with US officials we have maintained the position that when even the smallest doubt remains, we will ensure the health and safety of the Belizean people. The Prime Minister has called a press conference tomorrow morning to further address any concerns that may arise from this event.  (read more)

It just keeps getting worse. This completely backs up the nurses’ statements, and more:

This Daily Mail reporter interviewed some of Duncan’s family (after he was admitted and before he died), not knowing that they had been WITH Duncan before he went to the hospital. Two days later, she had a slight fever and stomach upset, so she went to the hospital – same one where Duncan was. They didn’t know what they were doing! She repeatedly stressed that she is not criticizing the nurses – they weren’t prepared, didn’t know the procedures for putting on and taking off the protective clothing…one nurse took her protective gear off a few feet from the reporter! Also, these revelations –

    • Although the family was in “isolation”, they were unclear of what they were or were not allowed to do
    • Unbelievably, at the hospital, after being checked out by the nurses:

“After what seemed like an eternity the doctor to whom I had spoken via phone came in to tell me that he had heard back from the CDC and they did not believe anybody in the community was infectious.”

This was before Duncan died! How could they possibly say that?!

“He said he would add my name to the CDC’s list and instructed me to come back and get checked out again, ‘if my condition worsened.'”

So without testing her, they let her go! She was exhibiting symptoms, and they let her go because they didn’t believe anybody in the community was infectious.

    What is going on?

  3. So the country of Belize has set their standard, anyone working in any capacity with Ebola is not allowed in their county. That’s a pretty high standard if you ask me. I wonder if these “officers of the U.S. Government” considered this possible reaction from Belize, doubtful, but then I wonder why these “officers of the U.S. Government” felt the need to do what they did at all. Why inform another country that someone is about to enter their boarders that worked in some capacity with Ebola? What about all of the other people who work with Ebola? A number which easily is in the thousands, what are these “officers of the U.S. Government” doing about them?

My theory – because she started having symptoms which is what the Belize report said. That’s why the U.S. sent a helicopter to pick them up – probably never occurred to them that Belize would say no. And the State dept is reporting that she does not have symptoms. State Dept lie? Yeah, highly probable.

I wonder when they’ll decide to tell us that she’s showing symptoms? If she does have Ebola, they’re going to have to at some point.

What is missing from this news story is a critical detail – I’m guessing that the 2 passengers with symptoms ARE NOT the same person who was the lab tech who handled Duncan’s blood. Otherwise, obviously, someone is lying.

On an earlier article someone had commented and linked to a blog article that talked about there having been two ebola vaccines under development, one through GlaxoSmithKline and another by a smaller company. Supposedly the smaller one had proven effective, but the news release had been stripped from the company’s website, and the info could only be retrieved through the way back machine. This could all be tinfoil, and i can’t find that comment here now, but can someone re-post it?

I was living in San Francisco when the other great plague broke out…AIDS or GRID as it was first called. Then, as now, the disease became politicized and standard public health procedure were not followed. Then, it was decided ‘contact tracing’ would not be done and the San Francisco Public Health director refused to shut the gay bath houses even in the face of medical evidence that GRID ( Gay Related Immune Disease) was rampant amongst homosexual men known to frequent these establishments. Nothing has changed since then. Whatever would be the most effective public health measures to prevent the spread of the disease is resisted simply because it would ‘stigmatize’ or ‘offend’ some group most at risk of having the disease.

Political correctness got innocent people dead when medical authorities refused to prevent gay and bi-sexuals from donating blood. Ebola seems easier to catch than AIDS and those in charge are once again too overcome with Political Correctness to do the right things to prevent the spread of this plague. Political Correctness is going to get a lot of us killed again if those in authority don’t wake up soon.

After complications from the birth of my second child, in 1985, I received two units of blood from the blood bank. Months later I received a letter in the mail alerting me that the blood I had been given had not been screened for HIV or Hepatitis. I was advised to get tested every six months for the next 6 to 10 years, which of course I did but we moved in that time to a city much larger and I admit I felt self conscious telling my new doctor I needed to take the test.

      • Josh says:

Wow, mikayla825! What a nightmare for you! I hope it all turned out okay.

“I was advised to get tested every six months for the next 6 to 10 years …” THAT’S a lot of testing. I thought I heard back then that one test now and one test six months later was sufficient. Day by day the rules change. The goal post is on wheels.

      • My grandma had to do that. It was scary. I also had a cousin that acquired HIV and died b/c of a tainted transfusion. I guess that’s why ebola is really freaking me out – it’s much easier to catch.

Will be interesting to see how this will play out in the upcoming elections. Will people be so totally enraged that they show up and vote against Dems en masse………………or will so many people stay home in fear of Ebola that the Dems can again cheat their way to “victory”? I’m hoping for the former, but the latter seems more likely.

This should effectively disseminate the virus all over middle-America “flyover country” since that’s where most Galveston-based cruise ship patients passengers live.

I’m starting to wonder if Eric Duncan wasn’t deliberately planted in Dallas. And why the hell did tow of the healthcare workers so quickly travel via airplane and cruise ship, both tight, compact, crowded means of transport?

I’m starting to wonder if the elites and eugenicists have teamed up to wipe out red states.

    • Hughes Angell says:

I suspected something similar in that Obama, in order to justify sending thousands of US military personnel to Africa and unlimited funding for ebola, wanted to have a few ebola cases in the US. Toward that end they did some rehearsals with bringing the Samaritan’s Purse victims back here for treatment and it went well. Tom Freiden probably assured Obama we could ‘stop’ ebola and he need not worry about allowing Ebolacans to come to the US from the plague zone. Sadly for Obama politically and for the rest of the country medically, the ‘index patient’ blew up on them. Instead of Freiden’s CDC rushing to the rescue and demonstrating that ebola was a manageable disease we need not fear it has become a nightmare of incompetence and unexpected situations. Sort of a Jurassic Park scenario.

I agree completely. I suspect Duncan was paid $$$ to fly here, his supposed girlfriend was paid too. She knew he had ebola and kept him in one room.

Has anyone heard anything about the girlfriend and the family?? No surprise. Our government finally figured out that it was a terrorist attack. Got the girlfriend and family behind a gated community. Sure, gated. Behind the gates of a military base.

I’m very confused. Everything I’ve heard about this story on tv this morning has said the woman and her husband, realizing what happened with the 2nd health care nurse hospitalized, isolated themselves in their rooms on board ship. TV has been reporting all morning she has NO symptoms, that the isolation was to prevent panic on board ship.

  17. 1harpazo says:

God sets up governments that the people deserve. Since the US has run Him out of every sector of life, we’ve gotten progressively worst leaders. Now judgment is upon us in real time. This plague cannot be stopped now that God has removed His hedge of protection from around the US.

We are the frogs. We are being slowly pushed into accepting martial law so that everybody will be locked down in their own homes. If you haven’t yet, you need to be stocking up on emergency food, water and medical supplies. These are good witnessing tools for you Christians.

Spiritually speaking, those who put God first in their lives have nothing to fear. (I have to post this-it is soooo good):
    Ps 91:5-8
You will not fear the terror of the night,
the arrow that flies by day,
6 the plague that stalks in darkness,
or the pestilence that ravages at noon.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side
and ten thousand at your right hand,
the pestilence will not reach you.
8 You will only see it with your eyes
and witness the punishment of the wicked.

God loves and cares for His children (and no…not everybody is His child).

Those who have no relationship with God might want to rethink your reasons for rejecting Him. The Bible is completely trustworthy and the prophecies of the last days are being fulfilled right now. We are in the fourth horse of the Apocalypse (Revelation 6:7,8 (last book in the Bible)). Please reconsider. Talk to a Christian family member or friend, attend church. Best of all: pray and ask Jesus to forgive you your sins and give your life to Him. He will hear you, forgive you and change your life for eternity. NIKE-just do it! and then tell someone, perhaps Sundance or one of the admins.

“God sets up governments that the people deserve.” Respectfully disagree. G-d does not set up governments, He lets us do that.

“This plague cannot be stopped now that God has removed His hedge of protection from around the US.” G-d did not remove His protection. Too many of us allowed others to boot Him out.

Other than that, I agree very much with your post 🙂

      • 1harpazo says:

Josh, God does remove His hedge of protection when people reject Him:
        Isa 5:3-6
“And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah,
Judge between Me and My vineyard.
4 “What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it?
Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?
5 “So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard:
        I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed;
I will break down its wall and it will become trampled ground.
        6 “I will lay it waste;
It will not be pruned or hoed,
But briars and thorns will come up.
I will also charge the clouds to rain no rain on it.”

        Ps 79:5-6
How long, Lord? Will You be angry forever?
Will Your jealousy keep burning like fire?
6 Pour out Your wrath on the nations
        that don’t acknowledge You,
on the kingdoms that don’t call on Your name,

And God certainly does establish governments and authorities:

        Rom 13:1
very person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.

        John 19:11
You would have no authority over Me at all,” Jesus answered him, “if it hadn’t been given you from above.

        Ps 22:28
        for kingship belongs to the Lord;
        He rules over the nations.
