I want to take a moment to explain to readers WHY we find ourselves concerned, wait, no…, OUTRAGED about the abductions and murders now coming to light as a result of the arrest of Jesse Matthew in Virginia.
As most are becoming aware Jesse Matthew is now positively connected to Hannah Graham, Morgan Harrington and Cassandra Morton’s abductions and murders. In addition he is forensically connected to a 2005 rape in Fairfax, and another in 2002 Lynchburg (Liberty U) where Matthew was kicked out of school.

But what people are missing is if you remove Jesse Matthew from the investigative equation, the relationship between the forensic evidence contained within each investigation STILL EXISTS. Meaning, if the state and FBI authorities had never attached Jesse Matthews, the forensic evidence still connects the victims.
Sure, to be fair, you can remove the 2002 (liberty U) rape case, because that only came to light as a result of the victim coming forth – and that only happened as a result of Hannah Graham’s publicity and Jesse Matthew connection. However, that does not disconnect the DNA and forensic evidence of Morgan Harrington, Cassandra Morton and the 2005 rape. That evidence exists with or without the arrest of Jesse Matthew.
So why was no State-wide alert issued between 2005 and 2009/2010 as each of the forensics of the cases was identified?
Morgan Harrington (2009 abduction and 2010 body discovery) and the 2005′ Fairfax rape were connected, but what about the others. Why were those missed? The DNA and forensic evidence for Cassandra Morton exists with or without Jesse Matthew ever being identified.
Why didn’t ANY law enforcement raise the issue and say ‘wait a minute, these cases all have the same forensic evidence to a singular suspect’?
Why didn’t Virginia law enforcement send out a state-wide bulletin warning of a black male fitting the description from the 2005 rape being connected to other abductions and murders and warn the public of a serial rapist killer? A killer preying on young college co-eds?
Why was there no man hunt for a serial killer between 2009 and 2014?
THAT is the bigger issue coming to light. That is what is more troubling and compounds the daily discoveries as they are now presented by the law enforcement community.
Would that state-wide alert and APB have brought the 2002 case, and the victim, to the attention of law enforcement with or without Liberty University self-reporting?
How many girls could have been saved?
How many actual victims are there?
