She can push back on Muslims because she came from a Muslim country and seems to be Arab. If I said it, being a White Christian, I’d be called a racist Islamophobe (the whole “phobe” thing because it’s meant to imply IRRATIONAL fear and/or hate). Anyway, I’m glad she’s brave and honest enough to speak out because some would have us believe we’re just paranoid and nobody’s out to get us.

And what are the birthrates in northern nigeria, rural yemen & rural afghanistan? Birthrates are declining in ALL cities throughout the world and they remain highest in the hinterland of all nations.

It isn’t expressly cited in the abstract, but Goldman does make the connection between literacy rates and birth rates. As literacy rates increase, the birth rate falls. So, yes, the rural outposts of Islam do have higher birth rates, but also higher mortality rates.
He also makes the point that Islamic communities facing a graying population have to attempt to support/sustain them with 10% of the productivity and technology available in the West, which is facing the same problem.

You are right – it is a sockpuppet of someone who has commented before, although to call them a “regular Treeper” might be a bridge too far. Why they decided to change their avatar/name to this “joke” (the umlaut doesn’t appear on the gravatar) is beyond me.
I’ve put them in moderation based on their new nickname, but left their IP. If they want to change their nickname to something a little less …. hostile and a tad more PG, they will have no problems continuing to be part of the discussion.

Just curious Ytz, for the “non friendlies” The IP address is what administrators can flag permanently & just not the gravatar right? Previously banned people can not just change their profile to sneak back into CTH if they wanted?

You would be amazed at the people who have been hit with the ban hammer who will vigorously attempt to sneak back in. Sometimes we let them, just so the Wolverines can practice sharpening their claws. It amuses us in the backroom greatly.

Lol, love it when you guys toy with prey. i think all the Treepers benefit in learning from SD & Admins in how to spot troll tactics. there was one time during GZ trial when i left to make dinner and a commenter was totally busted, trussed and booted in less than 20 minutes! I was like what did I miss??

I was spelunking around the deeper recesses of the inner tubes one late evening and had found a dated – but excellent – essay on the Weaponization of Words. I toyed briefly with posting in on the OT, but that is ground that has been well tilled here as you cite.
I find it interesting “who” gets to be the “deciderer” about what is “okay” and what is “not okay” to say/belief/think. Nothing gets them more riled and flustered than those who refuse to concede to their “auth-or-i-tay” on these matters (Andrew Breitbart was a master of it). My favorite is: “You can’t say that”. “But I just did”. Silence.
