tap1Consider the tapestry which comes from threads. Threads of all kinds, including blog threads, create a tapestry which is yet to be understood or brought into perspective.
The paragraphs that follow are excerpts from recent comments of your fellow patriots. Each stands on its own and is worthy of further/repeat consideration. Read. Enjoy. Be strengthened. Pass it on. We’re weaving a tapestry.

[In his comment, elvis delivers a tribute to] …Texas ranch women who take care of kids, drive every manner of wheeled vehicle, mid-wife livestock, break horses, sit up with sick family, tap4work a cuttin’ horse and in short, do everything a man does, all the while putting three meals on the table.
If fact, he ever shows up around these parts, the women in my family will tell him to take off his towel when he comes in the house, lose the man-dress and get close to that bar of soap she’s left for him, along with a towel, in the bunkhouse wash-up, before he sits down at her table. Then, he darn better say, “Please”, “Yes ma’am”, and “Thank-you” and offer to do the dishes, which she’ll politely refuse.

….I love this quote, from the comments, reminding us that it is our time to follow the lead of men like Cruz:

“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from tap3the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.”

    Don Laird says:

I am reminded of a line from the movie “Kingdom of Heaven”…it renders useless the arguments offered by those who, weak of will, follow the murderous direction of others and refuse to act on behalf of those in need. The King of Jerusalem, counseling a young knight on matters of conscience and courage of conviction, responds to one of his questions, he says, ” Even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say that I was told by others to do thus or that virtue was not convenient, this will not suffice”.
tap2So America my friend…..what is your convenience?…..what is the depth of your character?…..what is the breadth of your conviction?….. what does America and your ancestors mean to you?….What will be your legacy?…..What will your grandchildren say when they speak of you?…
….During November’s winter whisper, on parade squares when silvered haired patriots and regiments assemble, when politicians with hand on heart speak…….will they speak of those who held the line or will they mumble, eyes cast aside, of those for whom courage failed, those who, when their country needed them, turned and ran?
Will you honour the dying words of Lt Col. John McRae as he urged; “Take up our quarrel with the foe, to you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die, we shall not sleep, though poppies grow in Flanders Fields”.

It’s Our America – 80 And Not A Happy CamperThe… comment I am going to show is being shown with permission, from a message sent to me on Facebook. ….

From Pappy:
Hey Susan , thank you for the friendship. I will endeavor to be a constructive contributor.
As a senior (seen 8 decades) I’m not a very happy camper. My government has been using me and my generation to financially water board our own doggone children and grandchildren, all under the headline of “saving our Social Security”.
None of us seniors signed up for this, yet we’ve become unwitting partners in creating this horrish nightmare we’ve all been living through. My generation has something in its possession called the generational chain of trust, and we’ve an tap6obligation to hand it off intact to the next generations. After all they’re entitled to an America that resembles the America we inherited from a previous generation.
To that end I’ve committed the rest of my productive (???) years to promoting a proposal that begins restoring middle class Americans, their families and the communities they call home; the heart and soul of our great country.
We’ve come too far, worked too hard, made too many sacrifices, have too far to go, and too much at stake to leave this debate in the hands of inept leadership (both republican and democrat). The time for talking has passed, and the time for walking is upon us….
It’s time “we the people” took “Our America” back and squared the books. “REAL JOE” the REAL DEAL – coming REAL soon.

It’s Our America- Always Has Been – Always Will Be

Here are the last lines of the fourth verse of the Star Spangled Banner:

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto – ‘In God is our trust!’
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
