I am the former chief of the Miami Police Dept. (MPD), and I just sent a request to Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio to initiate a Senate investigation of Thomas Perez and DOJ in their biased and slipshod investigation of MPD for alleged excessive use of deadly force.

In my request, I cite and give examples where DOJ omitted or misrepresented facts. I am attaching a copy of the request.
