The focus point for the looting and mayhem in day #6 was the same location where Mike Brown and Dorian Johnson were videotaped during a strong arm robbery moments before the altercation with officer Darren Wilson.

Apparently the police releasing the CCTV video of Mike Brown during the strong arm robbery was enough to drive the local community to seek retaliation.   “Snitches get Stitches” is the sentiment at work.

In response the police tried to retain order while only responding to the most dangerous locations of activity.

CNN has a generous report trying to find distance between the “rioters”, who were opportunistic looters, and the “protesters”.

Ferguson, Missouri (CNN) — Armored vehicles and law enforcement officers in riot gear with military style rifles returned to the streets of Ferguson early Saturday, while looters robbed three stores.

The after-dark confrontation began after more than two dozen protesters closed off a section of street near a convenience store, the Ferguson Market and Liquor store, that has become part of the case surrounding Michael Brown, the black teen who was killed by police gunfire one week ago.

It was one of the stores that was looted.

A SWAT team lined up across from the protesters commanding them via bullhorn to unblock the street and take to sidewalks, or to go home. Security officers warned that disobeying the law would be met with arrest.

Bottles flew back in their direction and mayhem broke out. Three Molotov cocktails smashed onto the roof of a Domino’s Pizza. Firemen put it out, as it burned a hole in the roof.

Minutes later, the streets grew calm again, and about a dozen people lined up to block the entrance to the convenience store, putting their hands in the air. They said they had come to fend off looters.

But it was essentially impossible to tell the difference between those looting and those protesting.

Indeed many of the “protestors” became looters during their breaks from protesting, and then went back to protesting when the looting was complete.

The general anxiety appears to revolve around the narrative of Mike Brown being a decent person evaporating in the reality of his behavior and arrest record.   Against overwhelming evidence Brown’s cohort, Darion Johnson, admitted to the robbery earlier in the day.

Obviously these revelations became a challenge for the media find excuses for; and indeed the national media have almost exhausted themselves twisting in pretzel contortions in their efforts to excuse robbery, riots, looting, vandalism, and gunfire amid the crowds while the chant of “kill whitey”, and “kill all cops” permeates the smoke filled air.

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) – The friend who was with Michael Brown when he was shot and killed by a police officer near St. Louis over the weekend is reportedly confirming that he and Brown had taken part in the theft of cigars from a convenience store that day.

That word comes from the attorney for Dorian Johnson, speaking to MSNBC. Police in Ferguson had earlier announced that Brown was suspected of taking cigars from the convenience store in what was described as a “strong-arm robbery.”

Brown’s family is accusing police of trying to draw attention away from the shooting. (read more)
