On CNN’s State of the Union this morning Texas Democrat Beto O’Rourke said he wants the State Department in Honduras to engage the process before they leave their country:

“So if we’re truly going to address this problem we’re going to have to address it here. Why not have State department and DHS down in those countries processing potential refugees and applicants for asylum on the ground so they don’t have to come through Mexico.”

HEY BRIGHT GUY…. Ever hear of a U.S. Embassy ?

Yeah, um, we’re pretty sure there’s already a U.S. Embassy -that would be the State Dept- in Honduras and all Central American countries. And, correct me if I’m wrong but, well, it would appear the people we’re talking about are, well, NOT interested in following that process.
People actually elected this guy ?

And did I mention that Mr. O’Rourke sits on the Veterans Affairs Committee that is overseeing -and trying to solve- the VA issues  ?
