Connecticut – Five people were shot early Sunday morning outside a downtown Stamford nightclub in a wild scene captured on video.
[…] The shooting took place in Columbus Park outside Tino’s Nightclub just after 1:30 a.m. as the streets were filling with people leaving the bars and clubs just before closing time. The suspect was involved in an altercation outside the club and began shooting into the crowd, police said.Police officers in the area heard the gunshots and on arriving at the scene found that four men and a woman had been shot. At least two of them were bystanders unrelated to the altercation.
The suspect, Dayron Wills, 22, of 300 Tresser Boulevard, Apt. 7E, was charged with five counts of first-degree assault and held on $1 million bond.
Interviewed Sunday afternoon, Wills’ mother, Linda, said her son had a pistol permit because he worked in security. She said she didn’t know what had happened at the club, but that friends of her son had been calling throughout the day, and that one said her son had got jumped in the club.
“I think it has something to do with the kids in the city just fighting about a lot of nonsense,” Wills said. (read more)
