We wrote about the attack yesterday, but we just noticed an ABC media report which includes another version of the victim statement to the police.  Identifying something the media refuse to accept is real:

Waggoner told police that he heard a suspect say:

…“if you want to be all the way in the club, you have to kill the polar bear.”  (ABC News)

Rickey Wagoner, 49, of Trotwood. PHOTO CONTRIBUTED photoA white Dayton Ohio bus driver was fixing a bus when a group of three black teens savagely attacked him in their attempt to gain gang membership.

Rickey Wagoner (pictured left), was shot multiple times in the chest, and hip.

Wagoner described the attackers as young black males, likely in their late teens. He said they fled in a dark-colored 1990s model Ford. No arrests have been made.

According to a police report, Wagoner told investigators he believed the shooting may have been a gang initiation. He said he heard one of the suspects tell another to kill him “if you want to be all the way in the club.” (full story link)

Notice in the local Dayton Daily News article (screen shot above) they cut out the full victim quote to remove the part: you have to kill a polar bear“?

A newly purchased bible in his chest pocket stopped the two deadly bullets aimed at his heart.

Obviously this was a specifically intentional race-based shooting of a white male by three black teens.   They identified their own motive during the shooting.  They were “Polar Bear Hunting” – wouldn’t it be refreshing to see any media outlet actually explain what that means?

Polar Bear Hunting is street slang for young black males who go out on the street looking for a white victim to attack.   Like this one where they beat their victim so hard his eyeball popped out of it’s socket.

2011 […]  Police say Strange was jogging home just after midnight when the suspects approached him in a parking lot near Blossom Street and beat him up.

A passerby found him a block away two hours later, and called 911.

Strange said he had to have emergency brain surgery and facial reconstruction surgery after the attack, but is making a remarkable recovery. “My physical condition is amazing,” said Strange.

“I mean, the condition I’m in right now is a miracle.”  (read more)

In the 2011 Curtis Strange attack the precursors for many more attacks to follow were found in the words of Attorney General Eric Holder who said only white people can commit hate crimes, especially in South Carolina.
