Justice For The Janczewski’s – Their Son Repeatedly Raped For Years By Middle School Teacher, Neal Erickson, Who Was President of The Michigan Teacher’s Union and Even Now Supported By The Teachers….

This is a story that SCREAMS for attention.   In Michigan a family has been, and continues to be, brutalized by a systemic rot within the school system.   A rot that perpetrates, and unbelievably as it sounds, excuses CHILD RAPE – despite the community outrage.

This just came onto our radar screen.   However, a cursory review shows this storyline has a similar disposition to the Penn State, Sandusky scandal.    The Janczewski’s son was brutally raped over a period exceeding three years (2006-2009) by his middle school math teacher, Neal Erickson.

Years later, in 2012, an anonymous tipster alerted authorities to video and pictures on Child Porn websites of their son and his teacher engaged in oral sex, and worse.

The story is just horrific, vile and made all the more astounding because there is a community of teachers openly supporting the child rapist.   The repeated rape is not an allegation, it has been proven, Neal Erickson has admitted to it, and he has recently been sent to prison.

However, the rapist has supporters – Open and Public supporters.    Supporters who are teachers themselves and who are actively teaching in the same schools.   Supporters who are angry at the Janczewski family for assisting the authorities in filing charges.   And it gets worse – much worse.   The best identifiable summary of the backstory is available HERE.

Here are some of the issues we have identified as being sidelined by the media so far:

neil erickson

The rapist, the middle school math teacher, Mr. Neal Erickson, was a former President of The Michigan Educational Association.   The Michigan teachers union.  Which explains why the national media will not highlight, or go near this story.

The Parents were threatened, if they went forward with prosecution of Mr. Erickson, they would suffer retaliation.    The threats were not just veiled – they were carried out.   The Janczewski’s garage was burned down, their house barely escaping the fire and the message “I Told You – You Will Pay” scrawled on the side of their home.

Despite the protestations that Erickson was not a habitual child rapist, common sense begs to differ.    The fact he along with his victim are pictured on a porn site, means there were others involved.   Who took the pictures?   Where is their accountability?

Who is the anonymous source who reached out to the Board of Education and School Superintendent with the pornographic pictures of the abuse?   Why has there been no additional search for victims?

The School Board actually had membership who sat with the admitted rapist during the sentencing hearing.    The support for the rapist so egregious even the judge had to admonish them for their audacity and detachment from reality.

Here is a link to some of the letters written in support:

The School Board is meeting next week to determine if the local teachers can be disciplined or removed from their responsibilities.

The GRIPPING STENCH of the teachers UNION is thick on this one.

Just noticed that all the support letters are from women.

    • 22tula says:

I noticed the same thing Sharon. You wouldn’t say it. I will. Stupid B#tches.
Sandi says Neal helped her at Wolverine Camp & Pack Pride and Field Day – to build student’s self esteem… aware Neal did something illegal. Put these teachers under oath and question them, to see if and when they knew anything about Neal’s crime. Think “Penn State Scandal.” Then fire them. The remaining teachers – Mandatory “Sensitive Training” on how to spot a sex pervert etc.

      • elvischupacabra says:

These are the same type of women who write serial killers in jail to express their undying love. Even old BTK has his admirers. They’re the same ones who fantasize about the baby-faced Boston Bomber. Oh, and speaking of Boston, Albert DeSalvo, who preyed on women, had no shortage of female admirers. The great pop-psychologist and observer of the human condition, at large, Harless Ray Mackenzie, GOB, CSB, says, “These ol’ gals got their motherin’ wire crossed with their common sense wire.”

    • ZurichMike says:

      I noticed that, too. Hmm.

    • Charlie Healer says:

Sharon…. And why would it surprise you that all the support letters are from women? .. Check out “THE BIG LIST”….

  2. ZurichMike says:

Children out of wedlock and single-mom celebrity status: the “new normal” for child-rearing.
Borrowing and spending more than is humanly imaginable by the government: the “new normal” for economics.
Child rape, cover-up and violence against victims’ families: the “new normal” for the teaching industry.

When I hear about stories like this, I look up to the skies to see if the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse are thundering down en route to the earth. I remember when teachers were pillars of the community and if we sassed back we would catch it at home like fury. We were always instructed (even in Boy Scouts) that if we needed someone to talk to about anything we could ask mom or dad, a Scoutmaster, a teacher or minister for guidance. Lately, I think I would scratch the latter three, and for many kids, the latter 4 because dad isn’t around. So crushingly sad and depraved.

    • 1harpazo says:

      The four horsemen are here:
      1. White horse is Catholicism.
      2. Red horse is Communism.
      3. Black horse is Capitalism.
      4. Green horse is Islam.

      • twolaneflash says:

huh? Step away from The Bible before you hurt yourself or others. Keep The Love.

        • Russ says:

The TRUTH ( BIBLE) bothers you greatly doesn’t it? You’ll admit Jesus is Lord and bow before him one day, but it will too LATE for you……sadly.

        • Marcus says:

1harpy’s statement is heresy. The liberal “Christians” are actually Satanists and you can tell by their twisting of God’s Word to fight against Itself. I would bet that the “Lutheran” pastor who stands on the side of the child rapist is a member of the ELCA which accepts baby murdering and sexual perversion as “founded in scripture.” Isn’t it weird how the atheist, Satanic, and so-called “Christian” Marxists all stand together when it comes to their undying support for immoral and criminal activity?

The teachers’ unions are complicit in this. All around the US the unions are protecting pedophile teachers and they fully condone acts of terrorism and in fact teach guerrilla warfare tactics to their minions. The sad fact is that the teachers’ unions leaders are the ring leaders in the child pornography rings and the neo Marxist terrorist movement.

          • 1harpazo says:

Marcus point out what’s heretical about my statement. Don’t do a “drive-by” without facts.

      • Menagerie says:

      • stella says:

Only the fourth horseman is named. His name is Death and he rides on the pale horse. The other riders are historically called Conquest (or Pestilence) on the white horse, War on the fiery red horse, and Famine on the black horse.

        • 1harpazo says:

Maybe in my post I should have said that the “colors of the horses are”…instead of the “four horsemen”. The fourth horse is green not pale or ashen. The Greek word is “chloros” which is green as in chlorophyll-the green pigment in plants.
          1. The white horse: What color is associated with the Roman Catholic church? The pope wears white. As the Roman army went out and conquered, the church conquered other religions and accepted and used pagan aspects of the conquered people to assimilate them into the Roman Catholic church. It continues to this day, hence “and to conquer” (Rev 6:1)
          2. The red horse: Red is globally accepted as the color of communism. Communistic regimes have spread death wherever they go.
          3. The black horse: The scales and trading food for money is indicative of trade or commerce i.e. capitalism. Also, it is the only horse which doesn’t kill.
          4. The green horse: Green is the sacred color of Islam. It was Mohammad’s favor color. It is used all over Islam today: green baseball caps on supporters, buildings, mosques, fences, etc. Since Islam was founded, millions have died (including muslims) and before Jesus returns, billions will have died because of Islam.
Yeah, this isn’t the traditional interpretation, but then God isn’t locked into tradition. In the last days knowledge (of things and prophecies) will increase as God gives revelation to those who seek Him..

          • 1harpazo says:

…sounds better to write…green buildings, green mosques, green fences…of course those things don’t have green baseball caps.

            • BrooklynResident says:

They wear them around here, but mostly sports team caps. All their women are wrapped up tight, even on the hottest days. And that is a good thing, because most of them are women of the “eeeeuw”” variety…

          • stella says:

Is this your own theory, or have you studied this somewhere? If so, where? I have never heard this simplistic explanation before. You do know that man will not know the time of the coming. There has always been evil, and always will be. Picking things from the present (meaning the last several hundred years) to attribute to biblical prophecy is short-sighted, I think. I don’t agree with your last paragraph at all. I think that is a human conceit.

            • 1harpazo says:

I learned of this interpretation from Irvin Baxter whose web site is here: http://www.endtime.com/about/. About the timing of Jesus’ return, Jesus said that no man will know the day or the hour of His return, but He did say to pay attention to the times and the seasons. He told us which season his return would be in. Yep, we probably won’t agree about the last paragraph, but then again, who named the other three horsemen Conquest, War and Famine? Have you ever been enlightened to the meaning of a scripture passage? Did the Holy Spirit give that to you?

    • Mark Hillyard says:

I’ve read some of the several old state constitutions. Many of them required the teachers to be Christian. Over time these were slowly removed. American schools were originally instituted to teach people in order for them to be able to read the Bible which was the main book used in children’s education. We are reaping the result’s today for decisions made by stupid people.

  3. ZurichMike says:

Read the letters quickly. Scan them for similar language. It’s obvious these women were given a template to follow, probably by lawyers for the rapist and/or teachers’ union: introduction, association with the rapist and all the good things he’s done, please for leniency. There is a sentence or two common to all letters, the common feature of which is “Although Neal has pleaded guilty of a single charge of criminal sexual conduct” and “he made an egregious error in judgment” or “he made a mistake in judgment”. That’s a lawyer’s way of parsing words without admitting or confirming criminal guilt. Also, there is the same litany of facts about “this is an isolated incident, 7 years ago,” blah blah. Sorry, I don’t know of a single teacher who, without coaching, could craft such a letter with such legal precision. The letters are personalized to make it seem as if a retired band teacher, for example, would write “criminal sexual conduct” instead of writing “sadly, took liberties with a student” or something less formalistic.

    • maryfrommarin says:

The complicity runs deep. This has to reach further than just these teachers’ staff room.

      • charlotte says:

I wonder whether Neal abused any other children? His followers intimidated and hounded the family so much that I’m wondering whether other victims’ families were intimidated too? He was at camp, he was a computer teacher. Were there other teachers involved? Who else had access to the child porn? This sentence jumps at me: “Years later, in 2012, an anonymous tipster alerted authorities to video and pictures on Child Porn websites of their son and his teacher engaged in oral sex, and worse.” I’m betting there were /are other victims.

        • That bothers me, too. First of all, I’m not gullible enough to believe that “child porn” websites don’t exist (I WISH they didn’t, but there are seriously sick people in this world) but I can’t imagine they’re THAT easy to get to – behind layers of secrecy. If someone sent the link they have to have been proven “trustworthy” or paid for access. Why, unless you’re law-enforcement, an investigator or a parent looking for proof that your child was molested, would you go to that trouble AND sicken yourself by looking at the pictures? The only answer has to be that you enjoy it. Who was this anonymous person and WHY were they perusing child porn sites? That’s a question LE needs to be delving into. He may be part of a “ring” of child pornographers and there may be many, many more victims and molesters associated with this man.

          • J says:

I am not in disagreement with this. There are a lot of sick people out there. However, I do know of some very noble, honorable people who specifically separate themselves from normal society in order to take down people like this. One young man I met in college was an exceptional hacker, and he used a lot of anonymity networks and systems. When he found out that he could access certain sites like this, he immediately contacted the FBI and sought out a job with them, because it disturbed him so much.

The last time I heard from him was about six months ago, and he was afraid for his life. He’d seen videos of children being raped and killed, and had become friendly with groups that did these kinds of things, in order to take them down. Apparently, a great number of missing children end up on these sites.

My only hope is that he makes it out of this thing alive, and that when he is done, I can take him in and help him fight the demons he’s taken onto himself through this whole ordeal. I’ve already contacted the best therapists, religious leaders, and counselors I can find who might be able to help him. He’ll probably never live a normal life with a wife and kids, but that was the price he willingly gave up to stop these horrible people. And for that, I am grateful.

            • Oh, yes – of course that group, also. I didn’t mean to imply that anyone other than law enforcement, etc. “enjoyed” them – I meant for the most part. So, it is quite possible that the person who sent the anonymous pictures could have been a “hacktivist”.
So sad that this evil exists.

        • Judy says:

Absolutely agree….these perpetrators do not operate in a vacuum with ONLY ONE! I was married to one who I found after 11 years of marriage was in a “relationship” with a 16 year old employee which led me to discover undeniable proof he had (prior to our relationship and unknown to me) with the representation of a shrewd attorney successfully escaped prosecution for molesting his daughter some 15+ years before that. In my conversations with his daughter after our divorce, she told me about her father giving his closest friend access to her for the same purpose her during that time.

My ex-husband had custody of their 5 children and convinced his entire family of siblings/mother in multiple states and his 4 sons who also lived in the household, his community including the priest and parishioners of the Catholic church he attended that his ex-wife had directed the whole accusation scenario and his leverage was to expose her father who was also a prominent physician in the community and had molested his ex-wife and her sisters in their pre-teen/teenage years. It was quietly settled by giving custody of the daughter to his ex-wife.

During our divorce I spoke with our priest about the current child abuse and he encouraged me to report it to the police which I did and both the priest and police went by his office and visited with him about it….just casual conversations that went nowhere.
Such denial encompasses those who know the public persona of perpetrators that it is overwhelming to those who know the depth of deception. It is my belief that the self-deceit is foundation and once that is accomplished, the rest falls into place so they convince others what they have already convinced themselves of.

I know from personal experience that having that knowledge about a person opens you to any method they can conceive to attempt destroy you in all areas of your life for years before they finally figure out who you really are.

      I don’t think Sally Campbell’s Letter was a template.
“Neal made a mistake. He allowed a mutual friendship to develop into much more.” SC

He allowed a mutual friendship to develop into much more. Are you kidding me.
What about the teachers/workers at the school, that didn’t write (red flag) letters?
      No witnesses?

      • ZurichMike says:

The letters are similar (not identical) in tone, word choice, and style. They all use certain legal turns of phrases unusual for non-lawyers to use. Sure, they personalized their messages, but the structure and talking points were, in my opinion, handed to them to follow and use.

        • keriheat says:

I don’t know, but could have been the other way around. The lawyers had the women write the letters and THEN the lawyers edited the letters for content. And had the final say.

      • charlotte says:

Who is Obama’s school czar who made it compulsory for gay sex ed and got teachers to talk to young kids about “fisting” etc? Kevin Jennings.
“Jennings brings to the Education Department his experience as the cofounder and executive director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), where in keeping with that organization’s mission, he concentrated his energies on developing and advocating classroom curricula for public schools that would re-educate school-children to embrace homosexuality. As a key part of their strategy to advance their agenda and change the culture, GLSEN leaders say they specifically target children as young as kindergarten in order to begin a “saturation process,” that forms the imagination with positive impressions of the homosexual lifestyle, and so pre-cognitively influences the way a child perceives the world and makes judgments on right and wrong.
“Further concern has arisen about Jennings concerning his history as a former drug abuser, and as a school counselor back in 1988, who failed to report a sexually active homosexual relationship between an adult and a boy, then a sophomore high school student. Instead Jennings counseled the boy named “Brewster” on maintaining the relationship with the adult, which began in a bus stop bathroom.”
Now who is the other one? Arne Duncan-he wanted a Gay High School.
I’m telling you, there is a whole underground NETWORK of gay teachers and educators perving on our children. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it goes to the highest office in the land.

        • This is just disgusting. And to think I have an innocent, sheltered little 6 year old boy about to begin school – NOT in the public school system. We are going to be home-schooling him – but what if we couldn’t do that?? What if our ONLY option was putting him into the hands of the public school system? It breaks my heart.

        • elvischupacabra says:

True. The Left “raised the bar” and made homosexuality “acceptable”. They chip away a piece at a time, until we have no society left, where there are no controls on behavior, no definition of ‘excess’. If you call them on it, you are guilty of “hate-speech” or are “homophobic” (which actually means ‘fear of the same’).

What next? Are they trying to remove the stigmatization of pedophilia? It sure as hell looks that way.

          • keriheat says:

That’s next. The pedophiles will be able to keep boys as sex slaves…Well, know that I think about it — Being able to marry goats may be next.

          • Moishe Pipik says:

I’m not sure this is a gay issue.

First let me say I’m just as shocked as the rest of you that other school teachers came to this man’s defense. (I’d excuse his MOTHER doing it, but not another school teacher.)

But teachers all over the country have been getting away with things like this:

            • monica mcnicholl says:

I agree that this is not a “gay” issue. I honestly wish that people would stop that ideology. That fact is a boy was raped repeatedly and his coworkers went to bat for him. and someone burned down the families garage in the middle of the night as a result of the parents fighting for their child. It’s a horrific injustice. The great thing about small country communities is that we tend to stick together when things need to be changed

              • J says:

It is a “gay” issue, because its roots come from homosexuality, just like a man preying upon a little girl would be a “straight” issue. If someone is being a sexual predator towards all children (boys and girls) then it’s pure pedophilia. If they only target one gender or the other, it brings homosexuality and heterosexuality into the mix.

The other reason it is a “gay” issue is because homosexuality has an enormously long history of being tightly knit with pedophilia. Every ancient and modern historical account we have of homosexuality being accepted in societies also corresponds to an acceptance of pedophilia and men having sex with young boys. There are political activist groups like the NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association) that are currently seeking protected status for gay pedophiles and young boys who engage in sexual relationships. After all, pedophiles can’t help it. “They are born that way.”

Whether you like it or not, there is a strong connection between gay issues, and pedophile issues.

      • Rob Crawford says:

“Neal made a mistake. He allowed a mutual friendship to develop into much more.”

I’d be asking students and former about that the woman that wrote that, and looking VERY carefully at her behavior.

      • monica mcnicholl says:

The teachers that did not write letters were the smart ones. No one in their right mind would support this man. Those smart teachers knew he was getting what he deserved, they knew they would be putting their jobs on the line and a sicko perv isn’t worth it.

      • Marcus says:

There weren’t ANY witnesses, only participants and victims. The public education system is little more than a child sex slave farming system for the neopagan, Marxist teachers’ unions and the perverted palaces we call “colleges” and “universities.” The combination of the MANY pedophile scandals recently is just the tip of the iceberg. The silence, lack of outrage, lack of punitive action, and abundance of coverups and terrorism committed by the teachers’ unions illuminates the horrible truth for those who are willing to see the plain truth.

Our society also needs to stop denying the fact that women are often sexual predators and that they need to be punished equally for their crimes instead of receiving light sentences because they have vaginas. Also, why are we allowing a single convicted child molester to live?! Perhaps the college degrees and jobs we give pedophiles are the reason our children are being raped?

When I punched a homo for trying to kiss me in middle school, the administration threatened to press criminal and civil charges and the threat of suing the school was the only reason I wasn’t taken from my home by the queer, drug addicted, Nazi government of California.

    • justfactsplz says:

You are definitely on to something there. They were coached what to say. This is outrageous. We hear of this all too often now days. Florida has a lot of teacher predators. Parents, home school your children.

      • justfactsplz says:

Florida has a lot of predators, period. It really is a national problem as many states are having this problem.

      • kathyca says:

Oh, absolutely they were coached. It never even occurred to me that they wouldn’t have been. In this type of scenario the defense or the union (imo, most likely union lawyers in this case) would have told them the points that needed to be made, while allowing for a little personalization. They probably reviewed drafts and made editing suggestions as well. There’s no doubt about that in my mind whatsoever. And guaranteed, they see absolutely nothing wrong with that. It’s SOP in a litigation setting. Also, it seems to me that someone representing the union and the school district made a decision that their potential liability would be helped rather than harmed by these teachers speaking out in support of the defendant, otherwise the union lawyers would never have “let” them or maybe even had them do it. I don’t know enough about the case to speculate on what that might be, though.

        • justfactsplz says:

I believe him being president of the Union was what it was all about. They wanted to minimize what he had done to lessen the impact. So they made it sound like it was not as bad of a crime as it was.

          • stella says:

I don’t think he is, or ever was, President of the state union. I think his involvement was on a local level. Could still be union coaching, however.

            • justfactsplz says:

That’s right, it was on a local level. I get so upset talking about unions. I was raised by a father who was heavily involved in a pipeliners union out of Okiahoma City. All I heard growing up was how great the union was and how the democratic party was for the working class. I entered adulthood with all of this firmly planted in my mind. When the truth finally hit me I realized I did not like unions and that nothing I believed fit in with Prog thinking.

        • monica mcnicholl says:

Erickson had a local attorney, not a union attorney. This is a criminal case and the union has nothing to do with it and their attorneys are not specialized in criminal defense, mostly just contract law. The Erickson’s paid for the defense, which was minimal as he coped a plea

    • sundance says:

I think we are all noticing the same thing.

The messaging is definitely following some kind of blueprint, perhaps from the union.

The Michigan Teachers Union is notoriously radical, and known to be violent. They were the first teams into Wisconsin to attack Governor Walker who was reforming the Teacher’s Union stranglehold on the local communities.

Knowing this guy was a former President of that union, it would not be surprising to find out that some kind of concerted effort to aid him was mounted by the union. However, it is sickening that teachers would put pen to paper to do it. Sickening.

The prosecutorial rush is also evident from the first discoveries, to the family notifications, to the trial and pleading, it all seems very rapid given the severity of the issues at hand.

I wonder if any real earnest attempt was even made to find other victims?

Knowing all the political types are more than likely in the back pocket of this teachers union, or at least heavily influenced by them, again this type of ‘under the rug’ urgency would not be surprising.

Sickening – yes, but not surprising.

      • ZurichMike says:

Good point — I don’t believe for one minute that this was an isolated incident. The guy is a predator-pedophile-rapist and there are probably many young boys he abused, but, like many, they are probably too ashamed or frightened to say anything.

      • auscitizenmom says:

I remember back in the 70′s, when a situation like this came up, wondering why it was so hard to get child pornography legislation through. The answer was always that there are too many lawyers and judges that are involved in it themselves. It must be true.

        • Rob Crawford says:

Frankly, I think the Democrat party is heavily into it, as an institution. Consider that ACORN and Planned Parenthood staffers showed WAY too much comfort in helping set up underage slave prostitution operations, and that a left-wing “charity” that has been involved in harassing and making death threats against conservative bloggers has been revealed to be run and staffed by pedophiles…

    • PatriotUSA says:

I noticed the same thing right away and am sickened, deeply appalled over these stupid women who support this horrid predator and pervert. As one who was hit on numerous times in my youth by older sick men and a couple of older women, I am deeply, deeply sensitive to this. Physically ill as I read these letters and about this poor young man. Thankfully I had a Mom, Grandfather and Uncles who taught me what to watch out for and how to protect myself. These women were coached. That the family was retaliated against is so sad.

This has roots all the way to the NEA. When the NEA switched from a professional organization that valued and pursued how best to do their jobs as teachers and do so with the highest standards possible to a union based organization that made pay, benefits and retirement the main goal, the die was cast and our education system has suffered greatly ever since. Almost all state’s now mirror the NEA to the letter. The protection of such ‘educators’ can be found from coast to coast, state to state. Anyone who blindly supports such a sicko as Erickson should be fired right away and lose their retirement as well. Harsh? Absolutely but this young man and his family will be scarred for life.

    • mike mehnert says:

tha nk you for support and valid comments unlike the lost ones before you. the Janczewskis are an unbelievably wonderful pair, great family and community oriented and very good friends of many. You are correct in your portrait of the supporting teachers. Very great need of coaching and a letter example to follow.

    • BrooklynResident says:

Hey, Jankowskis. Don’t forget to SURE THE TEACHERS UNION. Obviously, their agency is condoning this contemptible behavior.

And find out who the template’s author is.

  4. charlotte says:

Better make screen shots and copies of all those letters:
““The district is consulting with our school attorney to determine if the letters are protected by the first amendment,” Cwayna said. “That’s really all I can say right now. Until we consult our school attorneys, I really can’t say much at this point.”

    • monica mcnicholl says:

No reason to make screen shots of the letters, they are part of the court case and therefore public information via FOIA at the County Clerks Office. They were obtained by the local paper and are available on line for the whole world to read. They’re not going any where.

Teach This: ABCs – Reading and Writing and Arithmetic – Period
1997 Interview with Sam Blumenfeld – 1997 Podcast

  6. BigFurHat says:

There was a whoopsie daisy in the material made available for viewing.
I couldn’t help do some snooping based on a little tidbit that was left un-redacted.

The good news is that this young man looks happy.
He also has lots of pictures that indicates he’s in a relationship with a young woman, and that’s information I felt was worth sharing.

    I wish the kid well.

    The molester can drop dead.

  7. charlotte says:

The wife’s letter is freaking unreal. She wrote a letter of support saying that her husband should NEVER have been reported because the victim NEVER reported or complained about it. UNREAL BLOODY UNREAL. I hope someone throws paint on this evil witch.

She writes: “**** did not perceive himself a victim, nor did it impact on ***’s life????? WHAT THE HELL? And her poor daughter Margaret( from a prev relationship) will be impacted by this? I’m thinking TG he is in jail. So he can’t molest Margaret.

  8. It matters very much that the proper process is followed. The teachers who wrote letters of support should not be fired for exercising their rights to free speech and assembly. They have broken no laws or codes of professional ethical conduct of which I am aware (I teach in Pennsylvania, not Michigan).

HOWEVER, they do exhibit questionable judgment that might well impact their classrooms. Administrators have every right and obligation to comb through these teachers’ files to ascertain whether lines were crossed in their classrooms and worse, whether they KNEW about they allegations and did nothing. Teachers are required BY LAW to report any hint of child abuse to the authorities; it is not for us to decide the allegations’ credibility.

Just think a moment: what if a teacher were a vocal support of George Zimmerman and repeatedly try to correct the mistakes repeated by students? I did. What if parents demanded I be fired? We have to protect everyone’s rights, or none of us has them.

PLEASE understand that I am disgusted by the teachers’ letters of support, but it worries me that some are calling for their firing because of them. I want the proper protocols used–otherwise, it is not justice.

PS. Seven is a small percentage of the faculty, so be cautious before condemning the entire school. As a parent, I would make sure that my child was not in any class taught by them.

    • michellc says:

Maybe because I’m old school and remember a time when teachers were supposed to be role models and be professional, I could not disagree more.
I can remember a time when teachers were fired for improper dress and fired for questionable behavior in their personal life. When parents cared who was teaching their children.
Defending a child abuser publicly imho goes beyond their 1st amendment right. They have a 1st amendment right to not be criminally prosecuted for expressing their support but their 1st amendment right does not extend to the point of their employers not being able to fire them for their poor judgment. We are talking people who are responsible for children. A person who would defend a child molester is a person who should not be trusted with children.
As a parent I would go way farther than making sure my child was not in a class with any of these teachers. I would make sure my child was not in a school with any of these teachers or in a school that would keep these teachers in the classroom. I would also be in front of the school board demanding they be fired.

      • St. Benedict's Thistle says:

I agree. These teachers have demonstrated judgment so egregious and lacking in common morality that they cannot be trusted in the classroom. I would no more have them teach my children than Erickson himself.

They are free to say whatever they like. But the public does not have to like it, or leave them in positions of trust and authority over their children.

      • PatriotUSA says:

        Well said Michelle!

    • Really!?! As a teacher you aren’t aware of any code of ethics or professional code of conduct that these teachers broke by writing letters of support for a fellow teacher convicted of molesting a 13 year old student (in 2005) over a 4 year period????? There are photo’s for goodness sake, he admitted doing it and they are still supporting him — that is both unethical and immoral. Isn’t it a part of EVERY education professionals code of ethics and professional conduct to protect their students from harm both physically and mentally? Dismissing a child molester as harmless is not protecting those kids.

Also, as the father pointed out, freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. Too many people hide behind “freedom of speech” and think they can say or do anything they want without fear of retribution…..it doesn’t work that way. They may not face legal prosecution from the government for the letters but that doesn’t mean they can’t face the loss of their job or community backlash due to their unethical and immoral stance.

    • Kev says:

Yes, what IF a teacher were a vocal supporter of George Zimmerman? The teacher would be harassed and fired.

      • I think for the most part teachers should teach academics, not give their personal views on social issues to children.

        Remember this? ……just sayin’

        • Americaisbizzaroworld13 says:

Oh yeah I remember this. Living in NJ ; this happened at a NJ school it made me keep a closer eye and ear out on my son’s school. They now know I am not going to fool around with my son’s education and I am on to this Common Core and they better not even look at those kids with intent to harm them in any way. Luckily my town still has values that these perverted slimeball teachers wouldn’t stand a chance at getting away with any of this crap. My heart goes out to the family of the boy. And to those douchebags who defend this dirtbag scum bucket whore teacher…hope one day they get found out and get the death penalty.

    • Rob Crawford says:

I believe teachers are required, by law, to report any cases where they suspect a child is being abused.

These teachers not only failed that duty, they’ve come out in support of the abuser.

I’m sure they can find work somewhere mucking out sewer lines.

    • monica mcnicholl says:

Freedom of speach? yes. However, there are consiquences to the things you say, regardless of your right to say them. Teachers are held to higher accountablity. This is a very small school, 7 is a good percentage of that particular school. Could be as high as 50%

      • Carol says:

It’s not a large percentage. There are probably over 100 teachers in that district. Not all the letters are listed either, there was a male school board member who also wrote a letter. Letters came from teachers in more than one building. Obviously there were plenty of other teachers disgusted by the actions of all involved.

  9. How can any adult, let alone teachers, defend this pervert?

It is disturbing that each letter tries to dismiss the sexual violation of a child by describing it as a “mutual friendship” or “relationship”. There is no friendship or relationship and there is nothing mutual about it. It is simply a child rapist forcing (through manipulation) a young boy into being used to satisfy his own sick and twisted sexual urges. They can try to put a nice fluffy bow on it, but it’s still child molestation.

AND trying to give him points for pleading guilty…..just bizarre! There were photo’s, what other choice did he have?!? No wonder society is in such shambles when we have people like this spending time with our children.

Like the father said — freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. Each and every teacher who supported him should be terminated and stripped of their teaching certificates. Only a twisted mind could justify this behavior in another person and those people should not be involved with children.

  10. peachteachr says:

As a retired teacher, I was a member of the Georgia Association of Teachers, but they could not have told me to go to the bathroom let alone walk out on my students. I joined for the legal resources it offered in case I ever had to defend against some crazy claim from a parent. Most of you probably think that as mandated reporters of child abuse, we are a line in the sand for children, but that is wrong. Teachers are not allowed to call in reports of abuse. We have to report it to our principal and hope they follow through. The last case I reported I had to go back to my principal and threaten to call the local televison station to get action. Sad, sad, sad. DFCS gave this mother 24 hours to move or they would take the children; that’s how bad the abuse was. I hope you aren’t counting on your local children’s services to remove children from harm either. Their goal is family reunification. The women listed above actively support child abuse and there is no clearer way to put it. This is just what NAMBLA (North America Man/Boy Love Association) is advocating. It’s just a love affair where one person, the boy, is below the age of consent and it is sanctioned by these teachers. Their goal is for us to call evil good.

My guess is that he’ll either be buying protection from the Aryan Brotherhood or a lot of Preparation-H or both. Lock-up is hell, but more so for a child molester.

I give him two years, tops.

  14. stella says:

I think his union involvement was strictly local – in his own school district.

    • keriheat says:

The Michigan Education Association (MEA), headquartered in East Lansing, Michigan, is a labor union representing more than 157,000 teachers, faculty and education support staff throughout the state.[1] Usually referred to as a “teachers’ union” its membership also includes college faculty, public school custodians, bus drivers, and paraprofessionals, among others. It represents people working in neighborhood public schools, those in charter schools as well as school employees working for private companies.

  15. whiteradish says:

Normally, I avoid reading child rape stories because it is too upsetting. This one particularly is devastating to the spirit, I get into an ugly mood and feel helpless that I couldn’t help the boy, who started off innocent and full of wonder like most children new to our world. I’m so very thankful that CTH is here, and the comments from Treepers helps to stabilize me. Thank you again. That’s all I wanted to say. We are all victims when we see this horrific insult upon injury. I believe that Obama’s fisting and opening of washrooms to transgender policies is indeed lowering the bar past decency, and the chaos is apparent each day as the effects materialize. God is so necessary, and he fortunately helps the spirit of the meek to be strong. These are the ones who turn to him. The bullies like these aggressive, terrorizing unions, Obama (and Oprah) give into their lowly, depraved selves. There is not one ounce of divinity in them. They open themselves up to the devil forces, and these will be strong once they become vulnerable like the boy who was raped.

It took me twenty years to discover the whole story. I’m hoping that his boss (when he was fifteen) is dead now, and pretty sure he is. Not to mention the Reading Is Fundamental neighbor dude that xxxxxed him when he was five or six.

Quivering rage, sadness, and regret. All at the very same time.

How could you have seen anything at 5 or even at 13? You could not even have explained it to me when I was 13. I wouldn’t have been able to comprehend what you were talking about. Adults who are wise and watching for such things happening to their children don’t see it. I pray that God will take this burdon off of you because it isn’t yours. Please accept a hug.

I can remember being five years old and my bro, at six, explaining to me what a rectum looks like when you push when there is no poo behind the push, and how this little pink thing sorta comes out. I was like “um, what?” at five. And paid it no mind. He was visiting the home of a RIF worker, who, as I now see it, was molesting the whole family and half the neighborhood’s kiddos.

And I knew when I was thirteen and should have been asking my bro, “Hey, bro, why have you been trying to rape me in the xxxxxxxx for the last two years?”

Oh, I knew. I just compartmentalized it all, got into drugs, and tried to forget for twenty years. I was in an out of hospitals for 10 years, on and off of many SSRIs, until I realized that the problem of depression is not chemical, not medical, but SPIRITUAL.

Sadness is not depression. It is natural. Dealing with sadness has ever been a choice.

Because suicide has been modelled for you, it becomes one of your choices. Good on you and glory to God for your survival. When I clicked the link and saw Rose City I made my usual joke. Rose City, a town with nothing but a Dairy Queen and a Tattoo Parlor, which is obvious when you meet the fat, but multi-colored, residents. Gallows humor.

Read the story, well, sort of screeched it at my husband. Told him I wanted to make the drive so we could have a visit with the teachers and school board…. See, now need to come up with an allowable word… Idiot? Evil idiot? Whatever. An unscheduled, late night kind of visit. To express our concerns. Possibly with guns, though my husband usually tempers my more hot-headed impulses. Pliers though, and my favorite acetylene torch.

My precious, darling, perfect in every way, son (stepson, but that boy is all mine and all me) just graduated high school. The thought that anyone could hurt that boy puts murderous ideas in my head. Going to follow Taq’s lead instead.

Our father, who art in heaven… You all know the rest. Had to stick with Hail Mary this past week, while taking my last step off of opiates*, because they’re shorter and I didn’t get mixed up and lose my place as much. Can manage the all the words our savior gave us today.

*I kind of feel bad for clarifying this, as I don’t wish to sound insensitive to anyone with a drug dependency, whatever the reason, but I was taking the stuff for long term, chronic pain. Turns out that opiates actually cause pain after a while, so I actually came out ahead. Still pain, still some residual withdrawal, but celebrating my freedom from the doctors, pharmacies, hoops, et. al. Very OT now, so getting back to plotting Rose City mayhem.

    • stella says:

I know Rebecca. I’ve always thought of Rose City as a little town not far from the “cabin” when I was a kid, a little town like Hale. West Branch is where I am on July 4th, usually, these days. Just proves that evil dwells in all kinds of unlikely places.

      • RebeccainMI says:

Maybe evil isn’t anymore likely to be one place than another. So disheartening. Seems like the most evil comes from people that are too closely focussed on themselves, too intent on their own pains and losses. Remember the boy whose own father set him on fire? David Rothenberg. I read the book about him, and was so shocked by the father’s inability to own up to the evil he’d done. In his statement before sentencing he took the opportunity to Forgive his ex-wife, though only he seemed to know for what. Navel gazing is fun, but inherently dangerous to innocent bystanders, at least when taken too far.

All my life, when things have gone all wrong with no hope in sight, I’ve never been so dark that I could hurt someone else to soothe myself. But a child? A child that trusts you? That’s a special kind of darkness. Strains my ability to forgive further than I like.

  23. Sharon says:

There a couple of principles that might be helpful to keep in mind, since the water gets pretty deep and stirred up with this kind of information. (If this is offensive to anyone just skip it–but I get concerned when a certain level of raw is reached. There are limits to the safety we can provide in these branches.)

*No one is obligated or actually has the power to forgive someone else (like this evil man) except the person against whom he sinned; therefore, it is not necessary or possible for any of us to “forgive” this criminal.

*His sin is against God and the victim: they are the ones whose forgiveness he needs if he ever wants it.

*Our problem is wanting to slip into the place of God and make the criminal accountable to US, as though he must seek forgiveness or escape-from-vengeance where we are concerned. If we do that, intentionally and in an ongoing way, then we ourselves have entered into a sin of arrogance and vengeance that has nothing to do with what he did to the boy. And we will have to deal with that.

*It’s important that we don’t over-identify with victims of others’ evil (and may do that because similar evil was done to us) because if we internalize or re-experience events that are not happening to us in the present…..we got us an oopsie going on: God does not promise sustaining grace for me when I’m in the place of taking an offense AT someone who doesn’t even know me. And I will wound myself if I get into the habit of doing that.

*There is a proper righteousness that rises up with anger and strength. That needs to be recognized and wielded with wisdom and power. That is completely appropriate when our nation and our society and our laws are being savaged and fed with the blood of babies, children and adults because of lawlessness run amok.

I agree, Sharon! Your posts contain sense and sensibility.

If I understand your counsel, in the face of the terribleness we witness as bystanders, we must not fall into the depths of despair and feel helpless. This is the reason I avoid some stories, but knowing there are others who share the grief, it helps stabilize my state of mind. The suicides that follow in families is the extension of depression and grief, the very reason why suicide perpetuates itself, and is the devil’s solicitation. The very opposite of it, is to understand that God is nearby, always waiting to provide solace and a comforting hand. I couldn’t survive in this world without his presence, and to know if I pray, and I do not pretend to tell him what to do to help others, that he does listen. Sometimes, more of us have to pray to him, to have an effect, because it is the asking of many over the few that weighs in the balance. I fear that many under the Obama regime in America are falling into desperation and depression, and THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT BARRY WANTS. He laughs and purposely goes off the play golf and do frivolous talk shows, because it’s in your face. He seems to feel that he cannot be impeached for treason and dereliction of duty because the blacks will riot. He has them under his finger, ready to suffer for him. God never asks you to suffer for him or others, only beseech him in your hour of need and be vigilant to what evil there may be.

I believe in God through the Saints and also the logistics of science. Those who trespass will one day have their come uppance because that is the way of God and science, as Newton did believe.

  32. I legal friend informed me of the following regards the Janczewski’slegal opetions: “42 USC Civil Rights action, not 18 USC 1964 civil RICO, because the latter applies only to injury in trade or business.”

I continue to feel both humbled and blessed by the Treehouse denizens. So glad to have Stella as a neighbor, even if I don’t know whether that’s literally true, it’s a warming kind of truth. Knowing I can come here and find wisdom like Sharon’s, heart like auscitizenmom, the spiritual fire of ZurichMike, Sundance’s vast knowledge with the will to see it through to the end, and the generosity of taq, Sha, Patriot, and others to share themselves with us, and the Greek chorus that is the Last Refuge, stepping forward in the hope that they can share the burden offered. I may have a serious problem with run on sentences and forgetting a dozen more examples that don’t deserve to be forgotten, but I know when I’m in the presence of grace.

Thank you all for helping me to remember the one thing that has gotten me this far: Despair is the worst of sins, because it means I’ve lost all faith in God and his love for me. I can never allow myself despair, no matter how bleak the world looks, because I wouldn’t know how to ever ask God’s forgiveness for turning my back on him.

To those who have shared their personal trials here, I want you to know that I see you. I see your pain and humanity and it matters to me. Your stories will inspire me to prayer long after you’ve forgotten who the heck I am, and your struggles will live in me and shape my thinking and actions as a part of my character. I will continue to run my sentences on, and say too much when I would strive for brevity, but I am a better person for having found this group of everyday heros.

I am pretty sure many here will NOT forget you, especially if you ‘hang’ onto your branch here. This morning when i was out walking in the canyon during ‘slap dark’ by our home with AJ, our dog and he and I are so BONDED in spirit and love, you came into my mind and just started praying for you and all here. It is one thing I know how to do well and just seem to do without ceasing, no matter what I am doing. In quiet solitude is where I seem to operate best as so many do. I do not mean to step in for the admins at all. If need be they can strike this comment.

Just wanted you to know………….from me.

      • Sharon says:

....strike this comment….??? Uh….don’t think so, PatriotUSA. You underestimate your value.

You underestimate the joy and gratitude we feel when we see your avatar and your name on any thread.

We love you, and treasure your steady heart, your deep compassion, and your willingness to stand in place, strengthening those around you. You, sir, are a treasure.

        • PatriotUSA says:

Thank you Sharon, Thank you. I gladly accept your gracious and kind words, and what is revealed of me from afar, as is so true of most who tread here is what you will get in person.

You are correct Sharon. I have always underestimated my value as I was raised to be most humble, be a person of morals, ethics, values, courage, always go through life trying to pay it forward and never go around ‘honking you own horn’. You and the other admins know of what I walk through, have walked through and will be walking through and I have never trusted any place as I have here and for me, a huge step and statement. There is enough darkness from the very pits of hell right now for five lifetimes. That sunlight and truth lives here, a damn fine thing.

I am a pretty simple guy,

For you and the all the admins:

In HIS glory I will walk, In HIS light, I will be bathed, in HIS image I am saved, In HIS arms I find rest, In HIS love, I am safe, In HIS Heart, my way is paved, Through HIS blood, my price has been paid, Through HIS ears, I am heard, Through HIS eyes, a sunlit path awaits, in the shadow of the Cross, Eternity awaits………

RebeccainMi : I hope you stick around……. The one thing I know about this tree is you never feel alone no matter what is going on in your life . :)

  34. RebeccainMI says:

Thank you Patriot – I always tell my son that we will never know the lives we’ve touched, because many of the people that have special places in my memories are strangers, whose names I never learned. Logically, there must be plenty of people who remember some act or words of ours that we never knew were noticed.

And Sha, i’ll definitely stick around. Embarrassingly enough, I’ve been visiting here daily (or more) for over a year. I’m kind of a binge/purge commenter. I read for a long time, suddenly post a bunch, then I go back to lurking, and even I don’t know what pulls me into the conversation. But I will be here.

    • PatriotUSA says:

We are always just one person away from making a difference and maybe not even knowing about it. Our heart and passion is what pulls us into most conversations and situations, at least for me it is this way. I understand reading a lot and saying little yourself. I have gone weeks without any comments, but I am ALWAYS reading here, always!

      Understood completely

  39. Just one correction to the story. Neal Erickson was NOT the president of the Michigan Education Association. He WAS the president of the local West Branch-Rose City Education Association. Just a small district that is part of MEA.

The Agenda and the Final Goal – The “Para-Sexual”
Marriage – I want to marry three men, six women, four children ages ranging from 6 to 10, two dogs and a mule. And I want insurance and benefits for all of them. You don’t like it, hate crime!!! Go to jail, get fined.
Hey everyone, this is my coming out notice. I have decided to CHANGE MY GENDER! (We all know from the many great organizations out there that our gender is not fixed! NOW, HRC, ACLU, Planned Parenthood, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, even Barack Hussein Obama and so many more…) Hoorah for me!
I am no longer to be considered a monogamous heterosexual male. From this point on, I am to be recognized as a “Para-Sexual”. You will love me and must accept me for who I truly see myself to be.
What, you never heard of a “Para-Sexual”? No I am not homosexual. No, I am not Bi-sexual. Quit trying to limit my freedoms! I want to have a loving, multidirectional, multifaceted relationship with the ones I choose to love.
    These are:
    Male: Steve, Jack and John,
Female: Judy, Jane, Elizabeth, Sally, Erica and Hillary,
Children: Peter (male, age 7), Jonathon (male, age 9), Samantha (female, age 10) and Jill (female, age 9),
Canis familiaris: Spot (male, age 3, Doberman) and Fife (female, age 1 ½, french poodle),
    Mule: Pedro (age 7)
We plan on a big happy wedding ceremony; all of my best friends will be invited. BH Obama, Hillary Clinton, Ted Turner, Barbara Boxer., Diane Feinstein. You know the crowd. (Great people. Oh that Ted is a kicker at parties when he starts getting juiced up!)
    • We deserve to have a happy legal marriage and all the benefits that come with it.
    • We deserve full medical / dental insurance, as well as other normal benefits, from our employers for our entire family.
    • Hospitals must allow me to make decisions and visitations for all of my family.
    • We must be allowed to jointly adopt new children, pets and livestock.
    • We must be allowed public housing on universities.
    • My entire family must be considered surviving partners if one of us doesn’t have a will and dies.
    • We demand all school children be taught, from preschool through college graduation, that we are a normal loving family. They must be forcibly taught that anyone who disagrees with our family’s lifestyle is terrible, hurtful, hateful bigots that should be locked away from decent people.
    • We demand that we have equal representation for the Para-sexual on all aspects television, radio, movie and print. This means at least 5 prime time sitcoms, 3 to 5 major motion pictures per season, and daily mention in the news media.
If American Idol does not find one of our very talented “Para-Sexual’s”deserves to be The American Idol, they must be thoroughly chastised in the press, and maybe sued by our great friends over at the ACLU.
Para-sexual must become a protected lifestyle. We must not be discriminated against in any way. Laws must be passed protecting us from anyone who disagrees with us. Our liberty is at stake!
Our family unit is larger than most, so we will fall well below the government described poverty line.
Due to this, we deserve and demand equal access to child care, Medicare, welfare, unemployment, food stamps and any other wonderful social program we find out there that will give us what we deserve: FREE money.
Your churches must also accept us. We will not allow intolerance from the pulpit. Any church that does not immediately and wholeheartedly accept us into their congregation will have their leaders arrested for hate crimes against us.
We don’t care that God says what we are doing is SIN… we love each other.
Isn’t God all about LOVE??? You’d best be LOVING us or we will get the government to make you, you religious God fearing bigots!
Your Church leaders better step up and get ready for some BIG weddings. When we come down the aisle, it is a true parade! So, now I am out of the closet. Are you loving me? Are you respecting me?
No? [Screams]: “Hey ACLU, we got another one we can sue! Send in the litigators and make sure our bank account can handle another couple hundred grand from this reader!”

SARCASM OFF! Does anyone not see the pattern??
