Seriously? – You’re going to have to pry the fiskar peeler from my cold dead fingers….

Much of the conversation in our United States is about banning AR-15 type rifles from citizens.   The left wants to ban guns, the right wants to retain their constitutionally protected 2nd amendment right.

However, one only needs to look across the pond to see what is left for defense after a decade of bans on firearms.   This is not a spoof, this is an actual article from the Daily Mail about removing dangerous kitchen instruments in their “campaign aiming to end knife crime”.   The citations and quotes with the pictures are, well, priceless:

Blades: The killer weapons were collected in a period of just four months

(Daily Mail) [...] Superintendent Basit Javid said: ‘It is illegal to carry a knife in public and if, like me, people believe that one knife related crime is one too many, they must make a stand and come forward with information which will help us tackle the problem.’

West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Bob Jones added: ‘The deaths of two Big Issue sellers in Birmingham last week are a stark reminder of the seriousness of knife crime, and this campaign couldn’t be more timely.’ (read full article)

And my wife thought I was crazy for keeping all those Taco Bell sporks in my glove compartment. Even though I was 20 years too early, now she gets it. If I could only figure how to attach a red dot sight and a fore grip to one of them without Feinstein finding out.

England, sotted with members of the former Empire and looking at importing thousands and thousands of immigrants from some of the seedier old Bloc countries – at the public’s expense, of course. Diverse, politically correct, disarmed down to trimmed fingernails and STILL the most violent country in the EU. If they won’t mandate fluoride in the water supply maybe we can get them to mandate Aricept?

This is a comment from the article itself. Pay very close attention to his last line.

So our draconian knife laws that punish highly responsible country folk from carrying pocket knives (and who actually find that knives are useful tools) are clearly a waste of time and space as most of the knives in these pictures can be found in any kitchen in any home. Why do we always remove liberties from the many in order to punish the few?

Well, at least it does make Piers Morgan a little more understandable. No more useful, but understandable. He’s one of them.

Unbelievable. Do these mental midgets know that a clenched fist can kill? They better get started with a program of amputating all hands at the wrist, long about 8-10 years of age, I’m thinking.

Ah, Sharon, Sharon, when will you learn that it’s not politically correct to assume that merely “lashing out at somebody’s arm, leg, chest or belly with a knife” is evidence of malicious intent on the part of the knife-wielder?

The knifer may simply have been expressing a little frustration with their lives (perhaps a simple, straightforward drug deal went wrong – you know how annoying that can be) and gesticulating wildly, quite forgetting that they had a knife in one hand. We all forget little details when we’re feeling emotional, don’t we? No need for the knifee to take it personally.

Or maybe the knifer just meant to hurt the knifee a little, not actually kill them. Remember, slicing up people who annoy you is just part of the activities of daily living in some cultures, and we must be careful not to be judgmental.

It would honestly be nice to live in this utopia they want to live in where nobody is ever attacked by a madman. I would love to live in a world where children weren’t abused, molested or murdered. Where women weren’t beaten, raped or murdered. Where men weren’t stabbed or shot or beaten to death. However, that world has never existed, doesn’t exist and will never exist. You can take away every knife, every fork, every gun, all the fertilizer, all the ropes, the saws, the clubs, the pipes, and cut off everyone’s hands and some people will still attack and murder.
Now common sense would say that if you’re mentally ill then you should be locked up in a mental institution if you’re a danger to yourself or others. When people commit murder they shouldn’t ever walk amongst again. If people have committed a violent crime over and over, common sense says the likelihood of them committing another violent crime the 3rd, 4th, 5th time they’re released they’re probably going to do it again and the chances are pretty good eventually they’re going to kill someone. So why does our justice system continue to let violent criminals back on the streets? That would be a common sense thing to look at and solve.
Another common sense thing to look at is people being able to protect themselves, by having the weapon of their choice to fend off criminals.
None of this will ever stop all crime and it will not be a guarantee that another theater or school will have an evil person walk in and start shooting but it would actually be doing something constructive and helping to lessen the dangers.

But instead of looking at the kind of person that would do this and how to make it harder for these people to commit crimes, let’s just put everyone in a padded room and take away all the sharp objects. There is no such thing as even reasoning with these crazy people. Their elevator doesn’t even get off the ground floor.

I agree The “end point” is that we all should be put into a “padded cell” so we don’t “get hurt”. Or, only the police should have weapons. The end result will be a police state, and a dictator. As the “Liberals” attempt to knock out a section of the Bill-of-Rights for this “padded cell security mania”, they will effectively destroy the entire concept.

I believe that the utopia they seek does in fact, exist. We call this utopia of no violence, death, or destruction, Heaven. Problem for the libs is that acknowledgement of Christ’s sovereignty over all creation and submission to this truth is required for this. But liberals would rather place themselves as gods and attempt to create their own paradise, sacrificing all morality and rationale in their lust for what amounts to nothing but desolation and deprivation to all, save for the few who worked from behind the curtains. They’ll promise the masses the world, and give them the crumbs from the world they usurped for themselves.

Rocks can kill people too. Better start a program tp pulverize all rocks into sand. All buildings and infrastructure will need to be retrofitted with a couple of inches of foam rubber. If we can just prevent one death caused by someone tripping someone(people need to realize that many instances of tripping can cause serious head injuries, including death), then it will all be worthwhile.

A while back I brought a whole watermelon to work for the lunchtime potluck, along with my biggest chef knife to slice it. A green card employee from India informed me that such a knife is illegal in India. I asked how one cuts up a large melon. He said you buy it already cut up; the one who cuts it is properly licenced to own and operate a large knife.
Meanwhile, a co-worker of Chinese descent borrowed my knife to slice her tomatoes and afterward declared she loved it and where could she buy one. That would be here: http://www.macknife.com/kitchen/products-by-style/chefs-knives/9-ck-90-original-series-9q-carving-knife.html
