Apparently we, as in every non-black person in the United States, are being warned by both the Congressional Black Caucus and President Obama that “Race” is the only important distinction of our republic.
Here are two articles citing both a warning from the CBC that if George Zimmerman is found not guilty there will be riots, and simultaneously from President Obama that he has “black voters backs“.
Gee, whatever happend to a post-racial America and those “purple states” he spoke so fondly of?

“I think a ‘not guilty’ verdict is extremely problematic in 2012,”  – Angela Rye

That’s an odd statement.   Why only problematic in 2012?  Think about it….
WASHINGTON – Race riots could ensue if George Zimmerman — the shooter in the Trayvon Martin case — is found not guilty of second-degree murder by a Florida jury, the Congressional Black Caucus’ executive director allowed yesterday.

I think a ‘not guilty’ verdict is extremely problematic in 2012,” said Angela Rye, the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Congressional Black Caucus. She said, “I don’t know,” when asked what would happen in the event of an acquittal. “I know that folks have talked about race riots — I don’t know that.
I think that we live in a day and age where people are educated enough not to do that. I know that his mother and his father have asked for peace, peaceful solutions, not repaying evil for evil, so I’m not sure. I think it would set us back . . . there’s no value to racial violence or any other kind of violence.”
Rye cited the media handling of the Trayvon Martin shooting as an example of racial bias. “To demonize a victim is always heavily criticized if it’s a white woman, if it’s a child — but in this situation, this boy who was not alive anymore to tell his side of the story was quickly demonized, and that’s where I take issue,” she said.
Despite her apparent belief that Zimmerman should be convicted, Rye seemed to express openness to differing accounts about the case. “I don’t take issue with the facts as George Zimmerman articulates them or as a witness may have articulated them, but there are so many conflicting stories and the fact that they said, well, he was kicked out of school or he smoked marijuana or whatever — that doesn’t give you the right to take someone’s life,” she told CSPAN’s Q&A.  (read more with VIDEO)

Also The Barack Obama re-election campaign Tuesday will air its first radio ad targeting African-Americans, campaign officials confirmed.

The 60-second ad, entitled “We’ve Got Your Back,” appeals to black voters’ nostalgia about the election of the nation’s first African-American president, calling for those voters to stand with the president again in November.
“Four years ago we made history,” a male announcer says. “Now it’s time to move forward and finish what we started together. We have to show the President we have his back.” The spot is inter-cut with audio from President Obama’s speeches, touching on familiar political and campaign themes.
“I refuse to pay for another millionaire’s tax cut by kicking children off of Head Start programs; asking students to pay more for college; or eliminating health insurance for millions of poor and elderly and disabled Americans on Medicaid,” the president can be heard saying in the ad.
Reach Media, which handles advertising for the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” among the most popular national programs reaching a primarily black audience, confirms to theGrio that the ad is slated to begin running tomorrow. A source tells theGrio the spot will also run on the nationally syndicated “Steve Harvey Show.” A campaign official said the ad buy is “national,” but would not confirm the amount of the buy or where, or how long, it will run.  (read more)

I wonder how the media would respond to a “Whites For Romney” campaign?
