Is it that hard to find enough people to fill a room when you are in a blue state? Do we have another swing state in the making?

    • I can see November from my house. :D

    • KABachus says:

No, the speech was scheduled for the worse time of all–Saturday morning at 09:00. Most folks were out late the night before at various events and did not make the early time Saturday. Folks were disappointed that it was scheduled for such a bad time on a Saturday morning.

      • garnette says:

If they had really wanted to be there, the time would not have mattered. They made a decision to go to other events that were the night before and/or stay up late on a Friday night and sleep in on a Saturday morning RATHER than planning ahead to attend this event.

In my experience, when you attend events like this you know you are going to get very little sleep because there is a lot to do. So, the I’m too tired to go hear someone speak is an excuse that is as bad as my dog ate my homework.

    Oh, dear.

  3. no2liberals says:

That is funny right there. The brilliant former economic adviser to Enron draws an empty room at a LLL gathering.

  4. I LLOLed…

The first thing that came to mind was this:

    …though I was searching for a photo of Fat-Albert (not very)Sharp-tongue in a similarly comical situation…

Then there’s the long-dead “Air Amerika” leftard radio “network”… You’d THINK these people would get a hint that nobody but their fellow-travellers are interested in what they’re saying, and even they’re not interested ENOUGH to come listen in person, but….

Naaahh….. Their narcissism is so profound that they just continue speaking even when they’re the only ones listening…

The “Brady campaign” video above was especially striking, as at the time most of the leftard networks went to pains to use only zoomed-in shots to hide the fact that there were more crickets than people present…

  5. Something went wrong with my video embed – jump to 0:55 or just click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZzWECN3sijc#t=54

    • Sorry – the point is made in the first 5-10 seconds of vid – from about 0:54 to 1:05 – no need to watch any more than that!

    • Thanks to whichever mod “embedded” this vid here, but…

FOr whatever reason, the “start at (time) function doesn’t seem to work in “embedded” mode on this site…

Best to click the link – it will start at the point that illustrates the point I was trying to make!

So that is who Paul Krugman is – ENRON. Talking to an empty room for the “Brady Camp”. Incredible.

  6. Aussie says:

is it possible? Are people finally waking up that Krugman is nothing more than hot air? Do they finally recognize that Krugman is more Marxist than he is a follower of Keynes? I still doubt that Keynes would agree with a lot of his modern day followers because he did not espouse Marxism but was a Capitalist.

    • no2liberals says:

Keynes was much more than a financial terrorist and the man that finished off the English Empire, he was also a predatory homosexual pedophile.

      • Aussie says:

do you have proof that he was a pedophile? It is true that for a time he was homosexual.

As for finishing off the British Empire, that is a real stretch.

When Keynes had his fingers on the levers, he actually did a fair job. His theories were not 100% accurate and I do think that the worst of his ideas was in fact the dole… only because it became interpreted as something that could be given long term.

In the period of J.M. Keynes, the men who were out of work had to work for the dole. There was none of this giving them money for nothing. So, I think this is one where you have to look elsewhere for bad policy.

On top of that I think Keynes got one thing correct….. taxes should be higher during a time of war, and reduced during a time of prosperity. The need for higher taxes during a war makes sense because of the need to raise funds to pay for the military……

However, what we have seen around the world is something different.

Krugman does not follow Keynesian theory in the pure sense. He gives lip service to Keynesian theory because Krugman himself is a Marxist….

Keynes believed in Capitalism, not Communism….

The people who finished off the British Empire were members of the British Labour Party, especially with their Socialist agenda relating to free medical, dental etc. etc. There was further erosion because the British Labour Party brought in the dole for those out of work but without the requirement to work…. the problem happened to be that these policies created an underclass of dole bludgers, and generations of families have never worked.

Great Britian has been destroyed by unionism… not by Keynesian policies…

On the other hand, what should be obvious is that Keynesian policies were finished by the 1970s and they failed because they helped to bring about prolonged stagflation.

I wonder if Keynes had not died but had lived for maybe another 10-20 years whether he would have discovered the problem with his own ideas and then built up a new theory based upon collaboration with the likes of Hayek (they really did know each other and corresponded).

As it stands, I do not believe that any of the economists who are allegedly Keynesians actually come up to scratch… I cannot point to any who have shown themselves to be better than the Master. It is these students of Keynes who have made most of the errors and have failed to examine the original theory in order to expose the inherent flaws of the Keynesian position.

There is no need to get into the personal side of Keynes’s character because it is his theories that are the issue!!!

    Mmmm, shadenfruede! so yummy!!!

  8. ZurichMike says:

Wait — has anyone verified this photo? Are you sure it’s Krugman at the front of this venue?

      • myopiafree says:

I “receive” Brady literature mailed to me. But until this day, I had no idea that they give lectures to “empty room” to “sell” their point-of-view. It is very clear they are doing this for MONEY. The were foolish to conduct this “briefing”. It makes them look stupid.

  9. BigZim says:

Everyone and anyone with half a brain knows Mr. Krugman is absolutely right that we need a $500-Trillion “NEW” Stimulus Package! Where we cut every American’s taxes by 100% for the next 10-years. While tripling Food-stamps, ADC, Medicaid and Unemployment Benefits and instead of extending Unemployment Benefits to only 99-weeks we shall extend them to 999-weeks!!!!!!
