Sometimes you notice insignificant things that stick in your mind for no apparent reason. One such insignificant snippet has been stuck with me for about 6 months now. Have you noticed that when the first family is ever photographed now the older daughter Malia is always on the side of her dad (President Obama)? It was not always that way, but about 6 months to a year ago I noticed an odd shift that in virtually every photograph with the entire first family Malia is next to Barack.
In all contexts and framing, whether formal or casual, Sasha (youngest) is always next to Michelle and Malia (older) is always next to Barack in the photograph. All photo’s prior to 6 months (approx) ago show a random blend of Sasha or Malia. But now, in virtually every professional and non-professional snapshot Malia is next to Barack.
I first noticed this when Michelle took only Sasha on a vacation last summer. And in just about every picture now Sasha is on Michelle’s side, holding Michelle’s hand, or embraced by Michelle. Malia on the other hand is rarely ever seen with Michelle, or on Michelle’s side, and is almost always holding dad’s hand, hugging dad, or embraced by dad.
With the tens of thousands of pictures by professionals, and by onlookers, it becomes an odd observation once you notice it.
