In a general sense this is not surprising per se’.   However, when you evaluate the crony expenditure, and factor intent against any historical political reference with the media, it gets, well, a little more concerning....

WASHINGTON – The Labor Department paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal stimulus funds to a public relations firm to run more than 100 commercials touting the Obama administration’s “green training” job efforts on two popular MSNBC cable shows, records show.

The commercials ran on MSNBC on shows hosted by Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann in 2009, but the contract didn’t report any jobs created, according to records recently reviewed by The Washington Times.

Spending reports under the federal Recovery Act show $495,000 paid to McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations LLC, which the Labor Department hired to raise awareness “among employers and influencers about the [Job Corps] program’s existing and new training initiatives in high growth and environmentally friendly career areas” as well as spreading the word to prospective Job Corps enrollees. Earlier last year I presented an image  of the Prog Utopia (seen below).   Many thought it was over-the-top and a little “out there” regarding their ideology.

(CNSNews.com) – Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York said last week that the federal government should assign immigrants to live in cities such as Detroit and “if they survive seven years” make them citizens.

“All the federal government’s got to do is say, ‘We’re gonna welcome here in this country–first come, first served–families, if they’re willing to come here under the following terms,: Bloomberg said in Boston on Aug. 14. “We’re going to assign you a city–let’s say Detroit–you got to agree to not be arrested and not take any federal, state or city money, and you’ve got to live there for seven years, and if you survive seven years, we’ll make you and your family full citizens.”

Bloomberg was speaking along with News Corporation Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch at a forum sponsored by the New England Council. (more…)

WASHINGTON — The feds have asked a judge to strike from the public record the  most “scandalous” details of a bombshell sexual-discrimination lawsuit against  Janet Napolitano and the Department of Homeland Security that refer to oral sex  and an odd bathroom prank.

The lewd details are included in senior law-enforcement official James Hayes’ suit claiming retaliation anti-guy bias.

The filing claims top immigration aide Suzanne Barr “humiliated” a male  employee by calling him in his hotel room and screaming that she wanted his “c–k in the back of [her] throat.” (more…)

Traditionally speaking Republicans are insufferably inept at messaging; the messaging on the Ryan Budget is a great example of their ineptitude.

President Obama takes $716 Billion out of the Medicare Program via expenditures and reimbursements to medical providers.   This is a factual consequence of “Obamacare”.  It is not disputed.   While the argument they should face, and be held to account for, is about “impact”, the factual reality of the shift of the money stands as a consequence of Obamacare and the Romney/Ryan team is correct to hold President Obama accountable for it.

However, the counter point from the Obama campaign is to continually point out that in Paul Ryan’s budget proposal he also maintained these same $716 billion reductions.  Subsequently they frame the Ryan budget as hypocritical.    This is where Republicans suck. (more…)

If this report is true, and an alliance is formed, two of the three countries needed to restore the Islamic Caliphate will be partnered.   The necessary “trinity” is Iran, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.   Prediction:  If radical Islamist elements in Egypt and Iran align they will turn their collaborative efforts toward destabilizing Saudi. 

Yemen below them, Bahrain beside them, and Kuwait above them, are all precariously balanced and ready to tip with minimal effort.

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt’s President Mohammed Morsi will attend a summit in Iran later this month, a presidential official said on Saturday, the first such trip for an Egyptian leader since relations with Tehran deteriorated decades ago.

The visit could mark a thaw between the two countries after years of enmity, especially since Egypt signed its 1979 peace treaty with Israel and Iran underwent its Islamic revolution. Under Morsi’s predecessor Hosni Mubarak, Egypt, predominantly Sunni Muslim, sided with Saudi Arabia and other Sunni-dominated Arab states in trying to isolate Shiite-led Iran.

Until now, contacts have been channeled through interest sections, a low-level form of diplomatic representation. In May last year, Egypt, which was ruled by an interim military council, expelled a junior Iranian diplomat on suspicion he tried to set up spy rings in Egypt and the Gulf countries. (more…)

(Via HuffPo)  “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” NBC’s flagship late night program, has laid off 20 staffers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Deadline reports that Leno himself took a “tremendous” pay cut as well.

Details of the departments that will be affected by the downsizing are currently unknown, nor is it known why the layoffs took place.

The news of the layoffs is particularly surprising, as “The Tonight Show” usually comes in first place in both ratings and important demographics. Since Leno reclaimed the show after the 2010 Conan O’Brien debacle, the ratings have steadily declined, and is occasionally beaten by “Late Show with David Letterman” in the ratings and Comedy Central’s Stewart/Colbert pairing in the 18-49 demographic. Here is a typical example of unmasked progressivity running amok.   In Atlanta Georgia the symphony orchestra has decided not to allow the previous high schools choruses to perform with them because they are not “racially diverse enough” to warrant participation.   Apparently that means they are demographically “too white”.

However, in the strangest, well, not really strange – more like typical,  fashion the Symphony itself refuses to self-describe their own diversity.   So, after reading this article, well, actually after reading the  comment from the “Director of Communications“,  I just had to go look at the ethnic makeup of the Symphony itself.

“It is against our policy to share the race and/or ethnicity of our musicians, so I am unable to share that information.”

Subsequently a review of the entire orchestra make up, including conductors, shows they have one, yes one, black person (Brass Section – Stephen Wilson).  Yup, as expected, the hypocritical slips of the pontificating musical progs are showing.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — After a four-year partnership, two suburban Cobb County high school choruses will not be performing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra [ASO] this coming fall.

That’s because they’ve been told they are not racially diverse enough.

The Walton High School Chorus has received many honors and performed all over the world.  So, too, has the Lassiter High School Chorus.  But they won’t be back with the ASO for a joint holiday concert this coming December. (more…)

Saint Louis FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV) – Paramedics treated a server at a Red Lobster in Fairview Heights on Friday after a customer threw a water glass at her head.  It happened at the Red Lobster in the 110 block of Ludwig Drive around 2 p.m.

A witness said she saw three female customers get mad because the server was filling up their glasses with water too often.

According to the witness, as the server walked away one of them picked up a water glass and threw it, hitting the victim in the back of the head.  The witness said as the server turned around, the customer hit her in the face with one of the dessert books.

The server was treated by a paramedic, but did not go to the hospital and stayed at work.

Customers and restaurant employees made sure the women stayed put until police arrived. Officers then arrested the three suspects. (more…)

(Via ABC News) Those seeking invites to the most lavish receptions at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, “gold ticket” access to “dialogues,” and private breakfast briefings with party luminaries, can expect a hefty price of admission.

A list of high-end convention packages circulated by the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee, and obtained by ABC News, shows that those and other perks are being offered to donors who raise $1 million or donate $100,000 to the convention’s nonprofit planning arm.

The cash-for-access formula has been a longtime staple of national political conventions, and though Democrats told ABC News they have tried to shift the focus to access for grassroots supporters this year, critics say the menu of perks for donors is a reminder that those giving big dollars can still expect special treatment.
