Something is totally FUBAR with this reporting. I can’t figure out where the disconnect is yet. See the bottom after the article:

First things first. This does not need to be rushed – this should not be a “pass it to see what’s in it” bill. This needs to be clearly and methodically, even painstakingly, a deliberative process.
As I see Team Obama requesting the “rushing it to a vote” I become even more suspicious of it….
Report #1 – Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) told Boston’s conservative radio host Howie Carr on Wednesday that the political momentum is starting to turn against the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill. (Link)
Report #2 – President Obama said there is one thing he absolutely won’t compromise on in immigration reform: a pathway to citizenship [ie. “Amnesty”] But as for what he would be willing to give up, he won’t say. (link)
Report #3 – Just in case anyone is concerned that senators aren’t reading the 844-page immigration reform bill from the Group of Eight closely before returning from recess next week, note that Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) is tweeting as he goes, calling out concerning elements of the legislation (link):

The trial of George Zimmerman draws closer, so let me clarify some considerations, with perhaps a sense of urgency. Some, heck, many, are searching for an agenda where none exists.
This is not a fight the Treehouse chose; This is a fight which chose the Treehouse.
First, The Conservative Treehouse (aka The Treehouse, The Last Refuge, the “nutters” et al) has never had any contact with the George Zimmerman defense. Never. Not Once. Ever. Not Mark O’Mara; Not Don West; Not either of their offices, interested parties, affiliates or representatives.
No, nor have we ever tried to contact them; Again, we repeat, “ever”. (more…)
Recently I received advice, from a person closely following the Trayvon Martin / George Zimmerman story, to take some researched evidence to the “main stream” media. So I did, and I’ll outline my experience below. What follows is the exact reason why the Media is no longer considered a Fourth Estate.
One thing the media never does any longer is ask questions, the “why” questions. You’ll notice the mainstream media, in a general sense, only reports on stories, and even then only on the stories they view are within the purpose of their editorial agenda; And stories fed to them from daily newswires, or occasionally consultants, which they are paid to regurgitate.
“It’s a cost vs. benefit analysis”, I was told by a local Orlando media reporter, “we have limited funding for resources, and expenses, and so the editors only want to expend money on stories that will drive income”, they continued.
As I asked whether or not they would be willing to look into information, or even consider information if it were just presented to them, the response was also oddly disjointed when you think of the original purpose of a news gathering and public interest.
“If it pertains to Trayvon Martin’s criminal behavior, or evidence of burglary, we are not interested”, I was told. “Our editors and editorial board have decided that nothing about that has anything to do with the events in Sanford”. “Nor does that have anything to do with the shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman”. The “Girlfriend”
It is now a matter of public record that Witness #8, “DeeDee” was not 16 years old on March 19, 2012 – she was 18. Nor was she in the hospital during Trayvon’s visitation/funeral, nor did Ronquavis actually meet her; And as a consequence of the last hearing, nor did she write the statement/affidavit previously attributed to her. [She now claims it was written by someone named “Francine”? ]
So how long before it is released that she was not actually on the phone with Trayvon? And, what is becoming more than likely, she is, as was thought from the outset, a person fulfilling the role of a constructed character fabrication, ‘media evidence’. 400 minutes on the phone? Yeah, riiiight. (more…)
(Via The Weekly Standard) Even as the White House strove last week to move beyond questions about the Benghazi attacks of Tuesday, September 11, 2012, fresh evidence emerged that senior Obama administration officials knowingly misled the country about what had happened in the days following the assaults.
![This photo was taken at 1:28am Benghazi time. [7:28pm DC] Following a one hour phone call between POTUS, V-Potus, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu](https://theconservativetreehouse.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/white-house-9-11-12-donilon-mcdonough.jpg)
CBS News senior correspondent John Miller said since the FBI’s visit Monday, she’s basically stopped talking.
“From that point on what’s being put out is that she’s no longer cooperating. I think what we’re actually seeing is lawyers doing their job, which is, she retained counsel and it was very clear that she was developing into a potential target of this investigation and they basically said if you want anything, it’s not that we’re not cooperating but bring it to us and we’ll send you back an answer.” (link)
BOSTON – Federal law enforcement officials are sharpening their focus on the widow of the dead suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings after finding al-Qaeda’s Inspire magazine and other radical Islamist material on her computer, according to law enforcement officials.

The probe of the computer belonging to Katherine Russell, 24, the widow of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, is part of the effort by investigators to determine whether Russell knew anything about the April 15 bombing plot or helped the Tsarnaev brothers hide from authorities, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the ongoing investigation. CALIFORNIA USSA – The parents of a 5-month-old were shocked when police showed up to take away their infant boy after they told a doctor they wanted a second opinion.
Caught on camera, the footage shows police entering the California home of Anna and Alex Nikolayev and asking Anna to hand over the baby.
‘I’m going to grab your baby,’ one of the several officers at the scene told Nikolayev, ‘And don’t resist and don’t fight me.’
‘He grabbed my arm,’ the new mother told KXTV, ‘so I couldn’t take Sammy. And they took Sammy, and they just walked away.” (more…)
