(NYT) – Russell Brand, the popular conspiracy-minded YouTuber who first found fame as a comedy and acting star, was found guilty in a London court on Thursday of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
He was found not guilty of two other counts of rape and one count of attempted indecent assault.
The jury, at Southwark Crown Court in London, took about eight and a half hours to reach its unanimous decisions, which concerned episodes that prosecutors said involved six women and occurred between 1999 and 2009, a period when Mr. Brand was becoming a public figure.
The judge, Joel Bennathan, said he would sentence Mr. Brand, 51, to “significant custodial time” on Monday and denied him bail. Under British sentencing guidelines for rape, the maximum sentence is life imprisonment, although a more typical prison term is four to 19 years. (read more)

In fact it came to my attention years ago that one could be convicted of a crime without an iota of actual evidence, just the testimony of a lying, crooked, police officer – and the jury treated the same as if it were the gospel of Jesus himself.
Unfortunately such things continue to happen in our just-us system which is demonstrated a couple of times of year with such headlines: “DNA profile results in man’s release from prison after serving 15 years!” Dwell on that travesty while drinking your morning coffee in the comfort of your own home. Not many do, but it does happen.
So, is Russell Brand guilty? I don’t know as I, personally, did not hear the ‘evidence.’ However, I do know that The System – and human beings – are NOT infallable and, as such, I will be praying that God’s Will Be Done!

Some countries have no statute of limitations, particularly with crimes.

Well, whatever they are… They are allowed to carry their knives everywhere they go in public. In England, it is illegal for the non-Muslim, English citizens to carry anything that would be considered a weapon, such as a very sharp knife. If Christians decided that switchblades were somehow a part of their religious ceremonies, I wonder if they would be allowed to carry them in public… I sincerely doubt it. Not in England.
