The jury, at Southwark Crown Court in London, took about eight and a half hours to reach its unanimous decisions, which concerned episodes that prosecutors said involved six women and occurred between 1999 and 2009, a period when Mr. Brand was becoming a public figure.
The judge, Joel Bennathan, said he would sentence Mr. Brand, 51, to “significant custodial time” on Monday and denied him bail. Under British sentencing guidelines for rape, the maximum sentence is life imprisonment, although a more typical prison term is four to 19 years. (read more)

Brand is a smart guy. His accent and way with words make him pleasant to listen to. I believe his shift toward Conservative reasoning is sincere and that he’s not just pandering to a crowd for the money. And I hope and pray his conversion or return to Christianity is sincere. That said, he was a wild man. Years of drug use, sex, and “rock and roll” lifestyle. He has conveniently used his drug and alcohol abuse as an excuse to not “remembering” what he may or may not have done and has used the familiar “I thought it was consensual” line.
I feel sorry for him because it looks like he did turn over a new leaf but let’s not sugar-coat that he DID in fact rape and abuse women. Brand is an oddball, and I have no doubt his past is pretty unfragrant, but from what I’ve heard of the charges against him, they’re a bit dubious. However, whether he’s guilty or innocent, it says a lot about our world that nobody doubts that if he hadn’t turned anti-globalist, he’d be a free bird today.

I’ve followed Russell Brand since before his conversion. I prayed for him as it was apparent he was searching, to Gods glory he found true faith in Christ. I pray for him and his family now. I agree that it seems as if certain people groups get by with much worse. He spoke too much truth.

I did not follow the case, but as a rule, I believe precisely zero women with multi-decades old allegations about someone who does inconvenient political commentary against the Marxist / Globalist elites. The courts have clearly been weaponized against those who commit thought crimes and then act upon those thought crimes by influencing the younger generation (after all of the time and trouble that went into their Marxist indoctrination). Let us all pat ourselves on the back about how much more civilized this is, than strapping a rat to Brand’s face, as in “1984.”
