well. it could have been worse , charles.. and i’m very grateful 🙏 that my house and car weren’t damaged .. i had no electricity for 7 nights, it was restored yesterday evening .. i never lost water or gas, another blessing .. but the cold cold showers? oh my .. trees, trees and more trees down everywhere.. the aftermath is very emotional.

Dear Annie. I live in Pensacola, and it did get a little hairy out there. But, we were fortunate enough to have our power back on in one day, no tree damage and nothing too bad, although the area did have alot of downed trees, where there were trees, and fences down that actually needed to be replaced anyway. An exact week later, and things are up and running, thankfully we had cooler weather as well.

Biography: Wife to Louis XVI of France, Marie Antoinette was born Archduchess of Austria, the youngest daughter of the Austrian Empress Maria Therese and her husband Francis I. She was married aged 14 to the dauphin of France in a dynastic marriage arranged by her parents and Louis XV in 1770.
As a daughter of France’s enemy, Marie Antoinette was an unpopular pick for queen. Her and her husband’s failure to consummate the marriage did not help. Her enemies succeeded in painting her as a mere frivolous and spendthrift queen. She eventually bore four children.
In 1791 Marie Antoinette accompanied her husband on his flight to Varennes and was imprisoned the next year. After the abolition of the monarchy she was put on trial and convicted of high treason in 1793, and like her husband nine months before her, was guillotined in the Place de la Révolution in Paris.
She is notorious for supposedly saying ‘Let them eat cake’ when told that the peasants had no bread, but historians now doubt she ever said this.

Gerard David (c. 1460 – 13 August 1523) was an Early Netherlandish painter and manuscript illuminator known for his brilliant use of color. Only a bare outline of his life survives, although some facts are known. He may have been the Meester gheraet van brugghe who became a master of the Antwerp guild in 1515. He was very successful in his lifetime and probably ran two workshops, in Antwerp and Bruges. Like many painters of his period, his reputation diminished in the 17th century until he was rediscovered in the 19th century.

He was born in Oudewater, now located in the province of Utrecht. His year of birth is approximated as c. 1460 on the basis that he looks to be around 50 years in the 1509 self-portrait found in his Virgin among the Virgins. He spent his mature career in Bruges, where he was a member of the painters’ guild. Upon the death of Hans Memling in 1494, David became Bruges’ leading painter. He moved to Bruges in 1483, presumably from Haarlem, where he had formed his early style under Albert van Oudewater, and joined the Guild of Saint Luke at Bruges in 1484. He became dean of the guild in 1501, and in 1496 married Cornelia Cnoop, daughter of the dean of the goldsmiths’ guild. David was one of the town’s leading citizens.
He died on 13 August 1523 and was buried in the Church of Our Lady at Bruges.
David had been completely forgotten when in the early 1860s he was rescued from oblivion by William Henry James Weale, whose researches in the archives of Bruges brought to light the main facts of the painter’s life and led to the reconstruction of David’s artistic personality, beginning with the recognition of David’s only documented work, the Virgin Among Virgins at Rouen.
David’s surviving work mainly consists of religious scenes. They are characterised by an atmospheric, timeless, and almost dream like serenity, achieved through soft, warm and subtle colourisation, and masterful handling of light and shadow. He is innovative in his recasting of traditional themes and in his approach to landscape, which was then only an emerging genre in northern European painting. His ability with landscape can be seen in the detailed foliage of his Triptych of the Baptism and the forest scene in the New York Nativity.
Although many of the art historians of the early 20th century, including Erwin Panofsky and Max Jakob Friedländer saw him as a painter who did little but distill the style of others and painted in an archaic and unimaginative style. However today most view him as a master colourist, and a painter who according to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, worked in a “progressive, even enterprising, mode, casting off his late medieval heritage and proceeding with a certain purity of vision in an age of transition.”

You are worth more than many sparrows. (Luke 12:7)
Think of the great love that God has for his creation. He took such care when he designed the heavens and the earth that he declared that what he created was “very good” (Genesis 1:31). He is so involved in his creation that not even something as small as a sparrow escapes his notice!
But for all the care that God puts into the smallest birds, we human beings have an even more central place in his heart. He loves each of us individually as a unique, unrepeatable person fashioned in his own image and likeness. As Jesus assures us in today’s Gospel, “You are worth more than many sparrows” (Luke 12:7). God loves you so much, in fact, that he sent his only Son to redeem you by his death and resurrection.
What does it mean that we are worth so much to the God of the universe? Everything! Knowing how much he loves us can:
Isn’t it great news that the deepest longing of our hearts—the longing to be loved and accepted and cherished—finds its true fulfillment in the love of the Lord? We don’t have to go looking everywhere for this love; it’s already in us through the Holy Spirit. We don’t have to worry that we’re not deserving of love; God has already declared that we are. And we don’t have to fear that this love will fizzle out; it flows continually from the heart of the One who promised to be with us “always” (Matthew 28:20).
As you begin your prayer today, listen as the Lord tells you, “You are worth more than many sparrows” (Luke 12:7)! Then lift your eyes to heaven, and praise him for loving you so deeply.

COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 113
An exhortation to praise God.
– God has praise from his own people. They have most reason to praise him; for those who attend him as his servants, know him best, and receive most of his favours, and it is easy, pleasant work to speak well of their Master. God’s name ought to be praised in every place, from east to west. Within this wide space the Lord’s name is to be praised; it ought to be so, though it is not. Ere long it will be, when all nations shall come and worship before him. God is exalted above all blessing and praise. We must therefore say, with holy admiration, Who is like unto the Lord our God? How condescending in him to behold the things in the earth! And what amazing condescension was it for the Son of God to come from heaven to earth, and take our nature upon him, that he might seek and save those that were lost! How vast his love in taking upon him the nature of man, to ransom guilty souls! God sometimes makes glorious his own wisdom and power, when, having some great work to do, he employs those least likely, and least thought of for it by themselves or others. The apostles were sent from fishing to be fishers of men. And this is God’s constant method in his kingdom of grace. He takes men, by nature beggars, and even traitors, to be his favourites, his children, kings and priests unto him; and numbers them with the princes of his chosen people. He gives us all our comforts, which are generally the more welcome when long delayed, and no longer expected. Let us pray that those lands which are yet barren, may speedily become fruitful, and produce many converts to join in praising the Lord.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

There was an article about how to turn off Spiderman’s superpowers (the articles are supposed to be geared towards students), I read it, and a light bulb turned on.
There is something called siRNA, small interfering RNA. Once inside a cell, it gloms onto the mRNA molecule it’s designed to match, which marks that mRNA molecule for destruction.
What if an siRNA molecule is designed for the “vaxxines”? Wouldn’t it destroy the mRNA that was in the shot?
The article does say this siRNA hangs around for a long time, like 6 months. Several have been approved for disease cures. They all currently target only the liver, getting one to target the whole body would take a bunch of research.
But wouldn’t this be a cure for all the covid mRNA disaster stuff?????
